What do you define as inappropriate? Some could argue that The Bluest Eye is still inappropriate for anybody of any age in school, but we've just finished reading that.

I've also seen Miracles of Life in 8th grade.

Ooh, Toni Morrison. I haven't read anything by her, but I hear she has written some good books so I've been wanting to read some of her stuff. Was The Bluest Eye any good?

I have yet to actually finish the book but it's good enough. I feel like it goes a bit overboard with the symbolism and descriptions though. It makes it feel like the book is sometimes more interested in detailing little things than actually telling you the story.

That's nitpicking though.

Last semester my English teacher made us watch "The Raven" because it had something to do with E.A. Poe. My heart hurt for a while

Yee, I know what you mean.
Well, I looked up a quick plot summary of it and it sounds pretty interesting, so I might give it a go sometime.

Thanks!

You had to read that Water for Chocolate book that sounded dodgy from what you told me.

OH YEAH I FORGOT THAT ONE.

But that one tip-toed around the subject so much that it hardly counts as inappropriate. It was just stupid.
