I think I know why some avatars don't appear.
They have been changed by users, and the game is supposed to reflect that particular image from the source (DarkSpyro.net) so it can't show the image because it wasn't programmed to but shows the filler image for DarkSpyro, the Spyro S.

I'll get to work on fixing that.
