Glacier: i suppose you could recite the spell, but--
Slean: nothing will happen until the evil dragoness is brought back. you won't know if you performed the spell correctly or not until you face the evil dragoness and must seal her.
Rouge: so, we're pretty much doomed....?
Slean: no, not entirely. she hasn't even been brought back. we can ensure she won't return as long as the tasks required to free her are not complete. and since i made the pact, i simply can just refuse to work until the deadline.
Rouge: but, Mom, then you'll......... die........
Glacier: although i hate to admit it...... that may be our best option.....

Tundra: Mom go ahead, let her free *He said with his head down*

Slean: *looks at him with a serious expression* you have no idea what you're asking. this dragoness could actually end the world. if it wern't for the army that stopped her, she surely would have succeeded. it goes without saying to those who know of the legend, that throughout history, there has never been a worser form of evil than her. to releash her would bring doom to us all, even evil. she shows mercy to no one, even the one who made the pact must be cautious around her. a true being of light would never allow her to be freed, at any cost.
Glacier: *mutters* the fate of one...... must be sacrificed...... for the fate of many....... i remember the saying....... a true being of good thinks of the safety of the whole world, before the safety of an individual, regardless of who it is.....

Tundra: Dad, i understand that but do you truely want to lose mom, because I dont want to lose her. There must be a way to help mom, theres got to be a loophole somewhere, and i aint gonna give up till mom is free. *looks at her now* mom are you sorry for ever doing this?

Slean: Tundra, it doesn't matter whether i feel bad about this or not. it doesn't matter if i manage to survive through all of this or not. either way..... i will be punished for what i did in the past...... when i do die........ i will be sent to the Wasteland.......
Glacier: but Slean--
Slean: *looks at him* Glacier, you know how it works........ those that do evil things, regardless of the reason...... they will be banished........ i am already doomed to be sealed away in everlasting torture with no means of escape.......... that is the fate of all evil, and you know it.......

Tundra: So you have given up mom?! No even if thats true then allow me to help you live the rest of your time on earth happily....

Slean: Tundra, it just isn't--
???: *someone lands near them* my queen! the plan is set! what shall we do now?
Slean: *looks* Murkvenom, i told you to stay at the lair! can you not follow simple instructions?! i left you in charge while i am out! who is taking your place now?!
Murkvenom: relax, my queen. everything is under control. i left Frostbolt in charge.
Slean: the ice dragon?! you left a corrupted minion in charge?! fool! you shouldn't have left anyone in charge, because you should be back there instead! *looks at Rouge* since i can't trust an idiot to do a job right, i shall send you back with him. perhaps you, Rouge, despite your youth, will do far better than a bafoon.
Rouge: Mom, don't we have more important things to tend to?
Slean: i shall deal with that. you go back to the lair, and be sure to take dumbo with you. make sure the others are on task.
Rouge: *nods* yes, ma'am. *flies off with Murkvenom*

Tundra: *looks at her with tears in his eyes* Later rouge he said to her as she left.

Glacier: Slean, you can play evil queen later, right now, we must decide on a plan of some sort...
Slean: *looks at him* i do not play, i am truly a queen to them. but they're a bunch of morons, i mean, i monkey could probally lead them. *sigh* but yes, we must do something. or better yet, do nothing. no harm will be doen if the pact is broken.

Tundra: Yeah other then you being killed......! *he said crying as he looked towards the ground*

Slean: *looks at him* Tundra, you need to learn that you can't save everyone...... not everyone is an innocent worth saving....... sometimes you need to make a tough decision that benefits the world, yet harms one....... saving me is not worth the risk of the world ending....
Glacier: speak for yourself, Slean....... you're the only one here that doesn't care if you live or die..... i doubt even your minions would sacrifice you.......

Tundra: Mom......I still dont understand why you did this? All to end up dying? why couldnt you have stayed with dad and lived as a queen with no strings attached.....

Slean: *sighs* you just don't understand...... only an evil being could understand such a plan or choice.....
Glacier: which is probally why i'm also confused.....

Tundra: No i probably wont understand, but you dont understand this. I love you mom, and i dont want to lose you.....*he said trying not to cry*

Slean: well, there you've got me..... like i said.... things such as love are a mystery to evil beings.....
Glacier: then you might want to solve it, because its the reason why no one is going to lose you without a fight....

Tundra: Mom, it aint a mystery, How else would you have fallen for dad? You have something other evil beings dont. And thats a heart.....

Slean: just because you've felt something, doesn't mean you understand it, therein lies the mystery.......
Glacier: yes, well, we really should come up with a plan, because i am not about to lose anyone i care about......

Tundra: Well i guess, i can understand that... but still if you feel it. Doesnt mean there aint hope mom.... But dads right we have to come up with a plan of somesort.

Slean: the easiest, and perhaps best form of plan for the sake of everyone, is to simply do nothing but wait for the deadline. i already said that no harm will be done if the pact is broken. yes, that will lead to my death, but am i honestly worth saving? is someone who has spent thier whole life shrouded in darkness and being raised by evil really worth the risk to save them? quite honestly, the world would be better off without me. it was my choice to make the pact in the first place, therefore i must pay the price...
Glacier: *shakes head* Slean, no....... i don't want to hear this....... we can save you and the world......
Slean: how? by releashing the evil dragoness we bring doom to the world, and we're not even sure if we can seal her away again, and we won't know until we try, and that is far too risky. allowing me to die to save the world is our safest plan. it is the only thing that is sure to work.

Tundra: Mom, your sounding like your sorry for what you have done before. So anyone who is sorry for what they have done, deserve to be saved. But dad is there a way to bring her back if she is um you know gone? A spell of somesort?

Glacier: ah! *looks like a lightbulb appeared above his head* why didn't i think of that before?!
Slean: think of what?
Glacier: centuries ago, there was a dragoness that died and was brought back many times. she died a hero, and was a legend in her day. there are a lot of books on ressurection and releashing one from another realm. surely we could find a way to save Slean if something were to happen to her.
Slean: and what if it were to backfire? what the? you spen the rest of your lives trying to save someone who may not even deserve it? i will not allow you to throw your lives away like that.

"Mom stop talking like you just want to give up on everything. You deserve a second chance, as a prince I should know when to give justice and chances to those who deserve it." *looks at dad* "dad I think we ought to do that a bring back mom when need be"

Glacier: *nods* and Tundra is right, Slean. as a prince, he it is important for him to know who to give second chances to, and who should be punished for a crime. i learned that myself when i was about his age, and i believe i am indeed a good king. and in my eyes, Slean, you are worth saving.
Slean: but, Glacier, it is said that one can be blinded by love. thier judgement is heavily weakened by thier heart. how can you tell this is the right choice, or if you are even using judgement versus your heart to make a decision?

Tundra: "well as a prince or ruler. You have to use both compassion and better judgement. Mom stop trying to change my mind. Your being saved whether you want too or not."

Slean: perhaps a higher power, a upper level being of light, should make this call. only a third party that would care nothing for me could make a fair judgement, a fair choice, and not have thier heart rule over that decision.
Glacier: and who do you suggest we ask exactly?
Slean: the only one i could possibly contact considering my current position. *contacts someone through telekinesis*
???: *teleports to them and appears beside them* you called?
Slean: ah, Goldstar, what excellent timing you have. judging by her normal light appearance, i see Murkvenom got a chance to change you back before your arrival. good. i need your better judgement.
Goldstar: ah, yes, indeed you do. i already know everything. i have been watching through the vision pool. you need someone to decide on the best form of action to save the world from a possible doom. hmm, yes, that is a rather big issue.

Tundra: I can't believe your doing this mom. You don't want to live do ya

Slean: *looks at him* this is not your decision to make.
Goldstar: perhaps not, but he has a say in the matter at least. kings must have a good judgement in order to make decisions.
Glacier: do get to the point, Goldstar. i am getting tired of hearing Slean say that sacrifice is our only option.
Goldstar: i will not argue that it is the safest option.
Slean: like i have been saying the whole time.
Goldstar: but sacrifice is usually only used in dire emergencies. normally it is best to eliminate the source of evil in the best possible way without causing harm to anyone, if that option is possible. in some cases, even if sacrifice appears to be the only hope, it is not usually the best option, as the sacrifice themselves may actually be beneficial to the world is better off alive, or in most cases, the sacrifice is simply worth saving.
Slean: cut the cryptic, Goldstar, and just tell us about this particular circumstance.
Goldstar: very well. in this case, like i said, sacrifice is the safest bet. but there will be others to make the pact and try to free this evil, so the sacrifice has no real garentee that will be no mroe threats like this, and we can not continue to sacrifice everyone. the best option would be eliminate the evil once and for all, or at least prevent her from returning again. to do that, she would have to be brought back, meaning the pact would have to be completed. otherwise, someone else could make the same pact, even after your death, Slean.

Tundra: so in other words we have to get rid of this evil once for all for the world to ever be safe, and for to be sure no one ever tries to bring her back again. But mom and dad I have a plan. If she's coming back, then to prevent casualties then I'll intervine at the spot she is released.

Goldstar: that is not entirely possible, Tundra. unlike most rituals where a being is releashed at a certain spot, this certain dragoness does not have to be releashed at a certain location, but she does have only a window of opporunity so that she can be releashed.
Glacier: then what do we do?
Slean: do nothing?
Glacier: *gives her a look*
Slean: what? i can't suggest that plan?
Glacier: you have been, Slean, and we threw it out.

Tundra: Yeah mom, stop trying to throw that idea on the table, because we'll cover it up with something else. Well where ever she is released at she'll have to appear at that spot correct?

Goldstar: yes, but the one who made the pact chooses the location.
Slean: meaning me.
Goldstar: correct.
Glacier: with that being said, it will most likely be at your lair, right, Slean?
Slean: well, that would be a possible location, but i was thinking of a diffrent place.

Tundra: like where? *he asked her curiously*

Slean: there is a high mountain out in the desert that is often used for rituals. i was thinking of releashing her there.
Glacier: there? of all places? Slean, that place has a dark aura. even the bravest of souls wouldn't dare go to a place like that. they say it is haunted by the souls of the ones who have cast spells there over the years.
Goldstar: it is a rather spooky place, yet it is loved by evil for its history and legends told of it.

Tundra: Your not making this any easier mom.... *he stared at her*

Slean: what? i had this planned long before you realize. this plan was in progress even when i was first meeting Glacier. i was having the dreams then. she was trying to contact me to make the pact.
Glacier: you mean you were talking to her in dreams when we met?
Slean: yes, i was.
Goldstar: the evil dragoness has the power of premonition. she can see visions, and she can even appear in dreams to contact the outside world. it is said she was completely stripped of her powers when she was sealed, but she managed to keep one or two of her abilities. however, that is just enough for her to be able to manipulate someone into freeing her.

Tundra: Oh... Hmm well I guess I'll have to go there with rouge and becareful then...

Goldstar: it is best not to go to this mountain at all. the spirits that roam there are highly active and cruel. although they do not possess elements or solid form, they are not to be trifled with, for they do have abilities, and the insanity to use them.
Glacier: yes, i have heard of instances where dragons were possessed by these spirits, were forced to do evil acts, which in turn got them punished for them, although they were innocent.
Slean: yes, and there are hundreds of other stories just like that. but it is a good place to do rituals.
Glacier: if you're evil, foolish, and fear nothing...

Tundra: Well then goldstar what do you propose me and rouge do to stop her if not up there? Wait till she goes to moms lair?

Goldstar: if she even does that. the evil dragoness will most likely pick up where she left off right from the start. evil is not known for its patience, and i seriously doubt she would go to a lair after she was just freed.
Glacier: then what do we do?
Goldstar: there is only one option. we change the location to an easy one where we could get rid of her without much difficulty. for that, we will need Slean's coroporation. without her, the plan will surely fail.

Tundra: Mom? its up to you now? Will you or will you not cooperate with us? *he asked her while staring at her softly*

Slean: me? no, you simply need me to work with you. this fighting evil job is all you. i am not cut out for it, and will not take part in some huge battle. i will, however, aid you in being there when she is freed, so that you may stop her.
Glacier: figures you would try to stay neutral. like mother, like daughter.
Goldstar: nevertheless, that is the minimum requirement of help we need from her. she is not entirely needed in the battle, although her assitance would be greatly appreciated.

Chapter 88: Loyal to Evil

"did you send for us, your majesty?" Zanna asked as she and Tynan stepped into Slean's throne room.
"yes, i did indeed." Slean grinned. "come this way, young ones. we have much to attend to." she said. the two young dragons walked up to her throne where she sat. "now, first off, what powers and abilities do each of you have?" she asked.
"i have the elements of shadow and wind." Tynan said proudly.
"i simply see visions, ma'am. that is all i can do at a young age." Zanna replied. Slean's gaze fixed on her. she grinned with intrest.
"visions, you say? hmm, good. that is what i seek." she grinned still. she then stood up and walked over to the far wall. she removed a tapestry from the wall, revealing a door. "come this way, my deers." she said sweetly as she stepped through the door. Zanna and Tynan followed her. the room was large, yet small compared to the throne room. the room was lit up by green lamps that sat all along the walls. in the center of the room, there was a large cage made out of green crystals. the crytal cage was connected, by crystals, to a crystalized pedestal with an emerald orb sitting on it. Slean approached the pedestal, an evil grin upon her face. the door of the cage opened up. "please step inside, dears." she said, sweetly. Zanna and Tynan did as they were told. the cage door closed behind them and locked itself. Slean grinned evily as she placed her right paw on the emerald orb. the orb began to glow, and then the crystals shot green electricity at Zanna and Tynan. the electricity paralzed them, but also drained them of thier powers. the green eletrical current went from the young dragons, to the crystals, and then to Slean. the current flowed through Slean's body as the drained powers were added to her own powers. her eyes glowed green, and electricity still flowed through her. then it stopped. she looked to the cage, where the two young dragons lay unconcious. "now i have more powers." she grinned evily.
:meanwhile:
Tundra, Firefly, Flash, and Glacier spread the news to every ice dragon in the kingdom. they were surprised by the news of helping Rouge to be good, but were not going to argue with the king or prince of the kingdom. while they did that, Polaris stayed with Rouge in one of the guest rooms. it wasn't long before Rouge woke up.
"ah, i see you're awake." Polaris said, smiling at her. Rouge looked up at her.
"where am i.....? what happened.....? who.......?"
"relax, Miss Rouge. Prince Tundra and King Glacier have asked me specifically to watch over you. you will be under my care until you are better." she said. Rouge raised her head and looked at her.
"better....? but i feel fine.... have a bit of a headache, but other than that...."
"no, that is not what i mean. you have been plagued by darkness, and it is now my duty to cure you."
"cure me? no. my mother has raised me just fine, and i must return to her now." she said, getting up.
"no. you are not going anywhere. you are to stay here until the darkness that plagues you is gone and replaced with light."
"no! you will never corrupt me! my mother has prepared me to deal with such things! i will not defy her!" Rouge growled.
"but we are only trying to help you, Rouge." Polaris said as she walked closer to her.
"lies! you wish to corrupt me and turn me against my mother! that i will never do!" she growled. then she spat acid at Polaris. Polaris groaned as her scales were burned and melted off her body. Rouge bolted for the door, and raced down the hallway. she avoided capture by the ice dragon gaurds, spitting acid at them. she quickly ran down the hallways, trying to find the exit, but was unsuccessful. she was lost in the castle. she heard footsteps as ice dragons were coming for her on both ends of the hallway. she was trapped. then with a smug grin, Rouge teleported out of the ice kingdom. the ice dragons met up with each other, and looked confused. the ice murmured to each other.
"where is she?"
"i don't know."
"we lost her!"
"we must report to the king at once!" one said. then they rushed off to find Glacier.

Tundra: Yeah kinda figures, but alright mom just help me to the point where I can fight her and then you can do whatever. *he said as he began to walk away abit*

Slean: alright, well-- *is interrupted as Rouge teleports in front of her* Rouge, what are you doing here? you're supposed to be in charge at the lair.
Rouge: yeah, slight problem with that...
Slean: what problem?
Rouge: there is no lair anymore....
Slean: what?! what happened?!
Rouge: well, i went outside for just a second to throw out some old things that were entirely useless. you know, junk. then i turn around, and poof. the entire mountain vanished into thin air. i mean, litterally vanished. gone. diassappeared. nothing there. no more mountain.
Glacier: yes, we get that, Rouge. what happened though? what caused it?
Rouge: how the heck should i know?! i just know, one second its there, and the next second it isn't. no tricks. no fooling. it. is. gone!
Goldstar: that is entirely impossible. an entire mountain doesn't just vanish. poof.
Rouge: well, tell that to big, empty space of nothing-ness, cause that's what happened!

OOC: nice chapter cyn

Tundra: *looks behind and walks back to rouge* "What the lair isnt there?"

ooc: thanks. well, i have to go. bye.

Rouge: *nods* yeah, it disappeared! poof!
Slean: that's impossible!
Goldstar: i quite agree. there must be an explanation.
Rouge: good. then tell me quick, 'cause i got nothing!
Goldstar: well, i don't know what it is...
Rouge: great...
Glacier: our only option now is to figure out what happened by going there.

Tundra: Mom would you relax.... *Tundra said as he looked at rouge*

Slean: my entire lair is gone! wait, what about the minions? and everything in it?
Rouge: gone. poof. nothing. nada. do i have to keep repeating this? there is nothing there!
Goldstar: there must be an explanation.
Glacier: right, but we have no clue. i still suggest we go there.
Rouge: why? there's nothing there. no books, no vision pool, no nothing!

Tundra: hmmm well have you tried an attack on where the lair once stood? To make sure it ain't invisible.
