After nearly half an hour of battling, Sybil still couldn't reach the collapsed Rose. She was getting exhausted. She could see from a distance the mighty elephants fighting, but the Komodo dragon numbers seemed like they had no end. The orcas were still standing, but some of them were too injured to continue, which meant even more sharks could leave their dangerous cargo to shore. Luckily, the traps were working, and the spears were preventing them from going into the forest. But for how long? The fight was getting too long for the poor civet, and Cheryl had to leave for more supplies. It was all getting too overwhelming. The Komodo dragon fighting Sybil was getting the upper hand. Despite the many injuries he has received from her spear, including one that almost took off one eye, he showed no signs of retreating. He even managed to bite off a bit of Sybil's armor, exposing part of her chest and shoulder. But she was not giving up yet...

Jaerl seeing Sybil in danger, finishes hurling a stone at another Komodo dragon, before slamming full force, 190 miles per hour, into its chest. Then he stands protectively over, her exhausted form. He is willing to do anything for her, even die, if he must. Though truly he hopes that never happens.

Meanwhile the dolphins will not relent their assault, even as some Orcas are too injured to continue, Jaril and his pod, show no mercy to the sharks. Jaril, however with an escort of two dolphins, evacuates the wounded Orcas to safety. Then with glare he, engages the leader of the sharks, in a battle unlike anything, anyone has seen. If he must he will kill the shark, to get this senseless bloodshed to stop.

Ivor, the badger, is within the fiercest of the fighting, his digging claws and fangs drip with Komodo blood as he holds one of the mightiest warriors of the Komodo Dragon's, prisoner. He does not wish to kill the creature, even though, they have attacked his home. Unfortunately Ivor has not come unscathed from this valient and possible turning point of the battle. Blood paints the sands as terrible wounds cover his body, however the worst of all is a bite in the neck. If this does turn the tide, unless one of the others, gets him an antidote, or the very Komodo Dragon that he is with, finds compassion and does something, the brave badger will die.

This was a scenario that Sybil was familiar with. She knew how much Jaerl cared for her. However, despite appreciating the help, she felt Rose needed it more.
"Jaerl! I got this! Please, if you must protect someone, protect Rose! She's unconscious!" Sybil begged, not wanting Jaerl to get hurt on her behalf. Guarding Rose would probably keep him safe, since Zera had Shadow occupied. Seeing how Jaerl standing up to her made the Komodo dragon pause for a while, she took the opportunity to see how the battle between the two Komodo dragons was going. Zera was much smaller, but yet it was difficult to tell who was winning of the two of them. the fight seemed very even. Both her and Shadow had some minor injuries, showing how very strong a dragon's skin was.

Jaerl hears Sybil say this and nods. Stepping away from Sybil, he scans the battlefield for Rose. Upon finding her, without even turning his head, the little falcon speaks to Sybil.

"Alright, I will go, but promise me, you'll be careful. I thought I lost you once before. I really don't want to truly lose you, Sybil. I...uh..." With an embarrassed ruffling of his feathers, he takes off and lands beside Rose. Gently tapping her with his wing, he stands guard over her.

Those words really made Sybil think. Her priority was to keep Rose alive, but now she realized, it was important that she remained alive as well. Jaerl felt into such a deep depression back then, that he nearly died, so living was really important.

But staying alive was going to be difficult. Now back to his senses, the Komodo dragon lunged once more at Sybil. It made Sybil so startled by the sudden reaction that she moved her head to dodge, but instead slapped his head with the spear, which she was still grabbing with her mouth. This move saved her life, since she wasn't going to be able to dodge in time. If that continued, she realized she was going to lose if she didn't do anything, so she used Shadow's favorite trick against him; taunting.
"Sheesh, I thought Komodo dragons had more self respect than this! How does it feel to be a petty pawn?" she asked, wondering if that was going to be enough to question his reasons for obeying Shadow...

Sybil had enough. The Komodo dragon facing her was still attacking her even after what she said. In fact, his attacks were even more severe. She then grabbed the spear by the tail, and even though it has lost it's sharpness, she used the edge to keep the lunging dragon away from her while she talked.
"I know Shadow! I know your kind is threatened by humans also. But taking entire islands to save your species alone just makes you the same as them, maybe even worse." Sybil said with dificculty, wanting to get through to him, even if previous attemts have been for nothing. Her oponnent then managed to bit Sybil's spear in half, and now she only had a stick to defend herself with...

Jaerl smiles as Rose awakes. Hopping over to her, he rubs his head against her. His light blue eyes gleam in the light.

"Oh, thank goodness you're awake. Sybil was worried when she saw you out cold. I'm here to help and protect you."

Jaril slams hard into Zono's gills, before slapping him hard across the face with his tail. Then jumping right over him, he smashes into the shark leader's chest, before leaping back over him and smirking. His silvery blue eyes gleam in the light.

"Had enough yet you big bully, or do I need to do more," he says taunting Zonos.

The swift movement of the Komodo dragon's tail tripped Sybil. She fell on her spear, obliterating it completely. There wasn't any spear small enough for her to use, so she was now on her own. She backed away, but not losing sight of her opponent. She tried to intimidate him with a glare, but this was ineffective. All she could do now is study his movement and dodge all she could, and hope her exhaustion wouldn't stop her reacting in time. She then looked at Jaerl, glad that he was concentrated on protecting Rose.

Meanwhile Ivor stands over his prisoner, a major warrior of Shadow's army. The badger gazes into the Komodo Dragon's eyes as he tries to find what to say. Then taking a deep breath, he speaks.

"I don't understand why we must fight. We all want the same thing, a home free of humans. Believe me I know how terrible they are, I was once an elephant, before I was gunned down, protecting my friends and brothers. All this unnecessary bloodshed and for what, nothing, save the pride of the one called Shadow. Now I understand that he is your leader, but have you ever in your mind questioned, certain actions of his? I know I have," Ivor says, determined to spend what time he has left to try and end this all. The poison continues to spread as each minute passes.

Meanwhile, Cheryl was trying to stalk her bag with fruits as soon as possible, but the durians were running out.
"Cheryl!" Cole called, being right behind her.
"Cole! What is it?" she answered. He seemed desperate.
"Cheryl, we need to go to Sybil's tree and get some antidotes! Many are being infected." the bulky kea urged, with Mambo being too busy and having only Cheryl to help him. Before Cheryl could complain about needing to help Sybil, the pelican accompanying her reassured her.
"Go lass. I will gather the durians and help the mistress." he assured, with Ceryl leaving and the pelican trying to gather as many durians as possible. He could imagine Sybil being in more danger the more time he spent there...

OOC: We can say Ivor thought that Komodo dragon was the general

Sybil could see it was getting dark, and even though she was nocturnal, many of her friends weren't. They had to retreat. The Komodo dragon fighting her has made her back away too much, almost having her into a corner. She almost couldn't see Rose and the others now. She had very little energy left, and to was extremely tiresome jumping those tail swipes, and the times it hit her, the armor was very good protections at least, though not for long now. All that was taking too much time. She had to do something, so she had another of her outrageous ideas;

"Enough! Please! I surrender!" Sybil said, pretending to give up so that the dragon would lower his guard and she could run away into the forest to get more help. She even lowered her eyes as if she was voluntarily throwing herself at the big lizard's mercy...

Jaril cries out in pain as blood spills from his torn tail. As he is thrown through the air by Zonos, he quickly recovers and rams into the shark's side hard. He is in terrible agony as not only was he bitten in the tail, but the wounds were torn right open as he was thrown. Still he is determined to defeat the shark leader.

Ivor, who is also nocturnal, with his opponent having retreated with the others, vanished underground to ambush, Sybil's opponent. Still he wishes to provide one last service, before he may die. Without warning, he pops right out of the ground and tackles the Komodo Dragon, trapping him in a pit similar to that of his last prisoner. However, this is when Sybil sees just how bad of shape he is in. The deadly poison continues to spread with each passing minute.

Ivor's appearance couldn't get more oportunic. But then she noticed the badger's wounds, and it was no doubt a bite. And she recognized that specific one. But now she was stuck between helping Ivor and Rose...
"Look Rose! Ivor is injured! And look at that bite!" she signaled, imagining Rose was too familiar with the shape.
"Listen! I'll help Zera. You go and fetch some antidote! Please." Sybil begged, not wanting Rose to face off Shadow. At least she'll be safe in the time she goes for the antidote. Sybil had little fight in her, and she was very upset on Shadow, so she thought she had a better chance of helping Zera...

Now with Rose safe for the time being, Sybil went to help Zera. She couldn't see Sayan or his opponent, so she assumed they were fighting elsewhere.

"Shadow! You greedy jerk!" the furious civet said, biting him on the tail and not letting go. Her tiny teeth weren't enough to dig into that hard, scaly skin, but she hoped it was enough for Zera to take the upper hand...

Sybil still held Shadow's tail, coiling around it with her entire body. She stopped biting so she could speak;
"Come on Shadow! Can't you see how stupidity ridiculous this all is? Jeopardizing all of your follower's lives only because of a pathetic revenge!" Sybil lectured, wanting to force him to see reason.

Since Sybil stopped biting and she was exhausted, the last swipe threw her far up, and in those little seconds, she could see all the fighting and struggle her beloved Haven residents were going through. It was a pain to watch. Her Haven was suppose to be safe, and now look. After those few seconds, she was falling right towards Shadow...

Just the same, the pelican that was accompanying Cheryl could see from high up the senseless violence from the fight. All because a stupid reptile had an exaggerated pride. But there was nothing he could do except helping, so he tried to rush to where Sybil was, unaware of her predicament...

Sybil landed right on top of Shadow's back, and since she didn't want to be in that rain of claws and teeth, she held on. This time, she didn't fell. Holding on to Shadow, she hoped that the little extra weight would hold him for a bit and she could help Zera win. She was almost in tears for what she was about to say...
"Kill him if you have to Zera!" she said, always being against that, but Shadow has left her no choice...

Ivor looks toward Zera and sadly nods as well. Shadow was giving them no choice. The deadly poison was spreading rapidly through his body. He is highly likely he will die, very soon.

While both Ivor and Sybil hold on to dear life, the pelican came with the urgent supply of durians they needed... but once he arrived, he could see that Zera and Shadow were moving too much while they fought, and Sybil holding on to the antagonistic lizard's back. The pelican couldn't risk throwing the fowl, hard fruits knowing that could hit Zera and Sybil.
"Kadan! Help Ivor! Take him to my tree! He has been bitten!" Sybil urged, miraculously seeing the big pelican silhouette in the sky in all that turning. She knew only he could return, since he was the one accompanying Cheryl and coming with the supplies.

Kadan grew desperate. He didn't want to abandon Sybil in that scary predicament, but after seeing Ivor, he knew it was urgent. He spat the fruits and put them besides a palm tree, and approached Ivor. He opened his enormous beak so that the badger could enter and he could fly him to Sybil's tree, since there was no way he could walk like that...

Ivor, slowly makes his way toward Kadan. Finally reaching him, after much difficulty, he steps inside his mouth. However Kadan can see, that even now, he is struggling to remain conscious. The poison, will most likely take him, before they can get to Sybil's tree. Too much of the poison has been injected into his body. If he is to die, at least, he wants to say goodbye to Sybil and the others. Swallowing with the shallow breaths, he speaks.

"Sybil...I fear it is too late. I have little time left, but I just want to say, thank you. Living here and coming to know you and the others, has been something I could never have known, but I will treasure forever. I wish that I had more time, but... Take care Sybil and Kadan, Zera, say goodbye to the others for me. Farewell, gentle feline and pelican and Komodo..." Ivor's eyes close as he finishes. Kadan will most likely going to drop him as all goes quiet. The badger may have turned the battle, but his life was the cost.

"KADAN! What are you waiting for! GO TO THE TREE!" Sybil yelled furiously, refusing to believe that somebody was going to give up the fight just like that. Rose was bitten and she survived, why Ivor thought that the poison was going to get him?

Kadan closed his beak tightly and flew off, not wanting to drop the poor badger and disappoint Sybil.
"AND IVOR YOU IDIOT! YOU BETTER NOT GIVE UP THE FIGHT THAT EASILY!" Sybil yelled to the distance before Kadan disappeared. She thought the badger was only being melodramatic. She already lost an elephant, she didn't want to lose a badger as well, unaware that they were both one and the same. The Haven was suppose to be a safe place, but Shadow has turned it into a war zone. Feeling emotionally unstable, she hold on to Shadow even more tightly, even beginning to bite. The bite barely did a thing, but the grip was quite tight. It was as if she wanted to eliminate Shadow herself...

Giving up was something Sybil wasn't expecting from him. But she forced herself not to care about the outcome...
"Ivor... and who knows how many more, are probably dead because of you! Really I tried Shadow! I gave you many chances, but you left me no choice..." Sybil said remorseless, letting him go. But after taking a look at him, she only said to Zera;
"Do with him whatever you want, just wait until I leave..." Sybil said before turning and disappearing into the forest to check on Ivor. She didn't care what Zera did; kill him, taking him as prisoner of Komodo, whatever she decided, Sybil didn't want anything to do with it...

Kadan flew as he has never flown before. He almost looked like a Peregrine falcon, fast even with the extra weight. He even passed Cheryl without noticing her. At Sybil's tree, there was Ami, ready to apply the antidote to whoever needed it. But after examining Ivor, she realized that it may be too late... unless...
"Rub yourself! Feet , wings, everything!" Ami suddenly said, while applying the antidote to Ivor. Kadan didn't understand what Ami was trying to tell him, but he obeyed her anyways... what was going on?

The poison has spread throughout Ivor's entire body when they reach Sybil's tree. Though through a rapid distribution system that Ivor and Whirlpool have made, the others that were infected will live. The badger's eyes slowly open as he regains consciousness. However Kadan and Ami know he is dying and they are helpless to stop it.

Without looking back, Sybil found her way to her tree... but before she could enter, she decided that Ivor was already been taken care of, and that she needed to know how everybody, especially the orcas, were going in the fight. She then returned to the beach, but taking another path in case Zera decided to kill Shadow. It wasn't a sight she didn't want to see, especially since she was expecting plenty of her friends didn't make it...

Neither Kadan or Ami noticed the eyes. However, the seagull wasn't giving up. Like Sybil, she didn't want any fatalities in a battle caused by a stupidly proud animal. The pelican continue to rub his body in the wool and moss Sybil had on the on he floor. He still didn't understand until he saw a tiny sparkle of light around his wings.
"That's it Kadan. Even if he is dead, we could revive him." Ami explained, having learned from the keas that humans use electricity on the heart to revive the recently dead. Kadan was started by the news, especially since once he touched Ivor, he would get shocked as well. But it was a life, so taking advantage of the static electricity built around his body, he started to give a painful CPR to the lying badger...

Jaril, wades into the shadows, his wounds being clearly visible against his body, however the worst one being his tail. His pod however has just some scrapes and bruises, maybe a few cuts, but nothing major. Jaril, however battled the leader of the shark, one on one and though he defeated him, he suffered for it.

Jaerl and Royal have already been tended to, Jaerl has his wings bandaged after a Komodo tackled him and tore at them with its claws. Royal limps with a bandaged up leg, after a Komodo bit him and dragged him to the ground. He has already received the antidote for it so he is fine. They have no idea about Ivor and his soon to be fate.

Ivor coughs violently and blood spills onto the ground as he stirs within Kadan's grasp. His mystical blue eyes gleam in the light. He fights against the poison hoping to at least say farewell to Sybil and Rose, before he dies.

"Now now Ivor. You got to be strong. Mistress Sybil already lost too much to lose you too. Come on man! Be strong! You are better than a vulgar Komodo bite. You, The Lord of the Soil!" he stern yet desperate seagull said to the badger in agony, trying very hard to encourage him to stay alive. Kadan, with many feathers standing on one end, continued with the struggling CPR, desperate as well. Both birds were trying so hard, and what was worse, they thought something awful has happened to Sybil if she hasn't returned to check on him.

But Sybil was at the beach, seeing the horrific aftermath of the battle. Though incredibly, they have won. Many orcas were in very bad shape, but the seagulls and pelicans were already attending them. As a thing of miracle, there were no fatalities among the Haven residents... so far. Orcas and birds were also fine, but some of the latter were traumatized. There were a few dead Komodo dragons and possibly dolphins, not to mention sharks. Cairo, terribly injured but with enough strength to swim, approached Sybil.
"We did it Milady! We won!" the enormous orca reported, forcing a smile to ignore his pain.
"Cairo... I... need you to bring me the leader of the sharks; Zonos. I need to speak with him..." Sybil said sternly, wondering if he was alive. She wanted to say something to his face before she could see Ivor...

While Zera was holding on to Shadow, Zonos was brought into Sybil's presence. She looked extremely upset and unstable, and she looked like she could lose her temper any minute.
"So now... Komodo dragon slave... look what greed and false promises have brought upon you. Look what you brought on yourself, and many of your kind..." she said with gritted teeth, before continuing;
"Cairo... take him out of my sight! And if he barges into orca territory again, you can kill him if you want to." Sybil said with heavy breathing, with most of the white parts of her eyes red, though it was hard to tell if it was anger or a heavy hold of tears.

The least injured orcas in the meantime were gathering to banish the remaining sharks off their territory. Many of them were furious and wanted so badly to kill them, but knew that Sybil wouldn't want that. They were very lucky, and they realized that they hold much of their gratitude to the dolphins, who arrived just in the nick of time to help them. It was certainly going to be a lost battle if they hadn't arrived. But the biggest thanks was to Jaerl, who somehow managed to convince them to gather with their mortal enemies to defeat an enemy even worse. Royal has certainly taught him well.

Sybil glared at him with those red eyes, and turned his back on him, as if she didn't care. She walked away towards her tree, ignoring him. All that was in her mind was to check on Ivor. She had very high hopes, since Rose had survived a heavy bite herself a long time ago.

Cairo, along with two other orcas, escorted Zonos away from the territory. Cairo was doubting the shark leader meant those words to Sybil, and dismissed it as a cheap way of trying to get to her sympathies. The rest of the sharks were brought upon the Haven and Hunted island beaches so that they could carry the Komodo dragons to their home. The then followed Cairo, with dolphins and other orcas behind them just in case they tried something.
"Now leave, you and the rest of your putrified cargo. And if you ever return, we will show no mercy." Cairo warned once they reached the border, leaving Zonos and the remaining sharks to cross the strong currents by themselves.

The Haven was quite the mess after the battle, but at Hunted island, things were worse. Unlike the Haven, there were a few fatalities; two cockatoos that saved Barloc. His wife, nephew and daughter were alright, but Barloc was forced to revive that horrible moment with his brother in that very battle. Things could have been worse though. Shortly after the arrival of the dragons, a heavy fog surrounded the shore, and Barloc realized how lucky they were that the weather changed to their advantage. Once the Komodo dragons were gone, it was all heavy duty to clean up their beloved home.

Ivor nods and he fights against the poison. Blood drips from his mouth as he fights with all his might. Time is running out for him as the poison makes its way to his heart. Still he fights with all his strength to keep himself alive until Sybil and or Rose arrive.

Jaril, leader of the dolphins, cringes in pain but stays still as his tail is being taken care of. The rest of his pod are conversing with Cario and the others. They let Cario know of Jaril's plight, how he defeated Zonos, single finned but his tail suffered for it.

Jaerl smiles at the inhabitants as they praise him, but will be unable to fly for a while. Still the little falcon is happy that their home is finally safe. Royal limps beside him, as they take a stroll along the beach. They have no idea of the cruel fate that looms over them, that Ivor is dying.

"I don't know for how long I can keep this up miss Ami" Kadan expressed, getting harder to keep Ivor alive. Just a few seconds later, Sybil entered the cavity of the tree, horrified of what she was seeing. His mouth with blood and his skin pale. It was worse than Rose back then.
"We are doing all we can Sybil. He is trying to hold on." Ami explained, still applying the antidote.
"Ami... I'll take it from here. Go search for some sea water." Sybil ordered, taking Ami's position.
"No no Ivor. Come on! Look, it's getting better." Sybil lied, trying to increase Ivor's will to live...

"I suppose you want something in return, right?" Cairo asked to the leader of the dolphins indifferently, refusing to acknowledge them. Both species were enemies, and Cairo wasn't willing to have dolphins live near the territory just because they voluntarily gave their help. He didn't deny the big help they were, but he was too proud to accept them.

Like Rose, some warblers and seagulls went to Hunted island to help the cockatoos, though many of them could see the fog from the sky when the battle was taking over, so they assumed the damage was less severe there.

Since Barloc and his wife were too busy, it was Nia and Angus who received Rose.
"Hey Rose... well..." Angus proceeded to tell her, but Nia interrupted.
"Two of our own died to save dad... but, everybody else is OK." Nia explained, having seen the two deceased birds a few times. But Angus knew Rose very well, since he talked often to Sybil about her while the civet was in hiding, and she didn't want their friend to worry too much about something that was inevitable in a war.

Barloc and Kali welcomed the help from the birds, who were all very glad that the battle was over, but there was much work to be done. Barloc wasn't very happy to see Rose, as always, because of her predator status, but Kali convinced him to at least be friendly if the young tiger approached them by chance.

The cockatoo cousins remained silent for a while, and decided to change the subject a bit.
"Well, we better get back to work before uncle scolds us." Angus said, flying to Barloc and Kali, but Nia decided to stay with Rose for a while...

Nia simply shrank her shoulders, understanding why Sybil was against such a thing.
"I know it would have avoided all of this, but I know why Sybil is against it. Shadow is greedy and evil, but now he could see that we are fighters, and that we triumph in times like these." Nia said, with a genuine maturity that not even she was aware of.
"Say now, what happened to him anyways?" Nia then asked, returning to her innocent demeanor. She doubted he was going home with the rest of the dragons after what he has done.
