My friend knows, and I think my best friend has a hunch. But they wouldn't spout it out or insult me. And they have both had VG crushes, including of non-human characters(Rouge from Sonic, for example).

Also, the friend that knows I'm attracted to Cynder said "Giggity" when he first saw her(and this was before I was attracted to Cynder). He done the same thing when he first seen another character I'm attracted to.

To be fair though, Rouge does have some good character development. But by saying Cynder is a skank, you are comparing her to Rouge.
