OK, I was in a Kroger Grocery Store yesterday and, of course, checked the Chip Isle.

No sidekicks, but I noticed this:

A couple of the chip bags had a sticker on them promoting "Save $4 when you buy one connect 4 or twister game"
This is only notable because someone else here reported that this board game promotion was the next promotion BEFORE Sidekicks.

I called CS today - they said my prize got "stuck in processing" and they fixed it. We'll see.....

Seems like most of your guys is stuck in processing. Hope all of you get your Flocked Stumpy soon!

I just called They said I had two shipped, one on the 7th (Boomer) and one yesterday, and they had one not shipped yet, I also asked because we won more times than that and he said they were still putting wins into the system

Yep, they should lead us into July with that promo, and then we should start seeing the Sidekicks one.

Nope, some have been reading the sell sheet wrong. The promo beings on July 9th.

Yeah I Agree with Spyroflame. I asked customer service and they said July 9th and like the sell sheet, they all start in waves. She said Whisper Elf is the first wave but doesn't know if their in bags or you have to mail in something.

...apparently i only won once, and i already received it
even though i gave the prize line my address over 3 times, and once to the flocked stump smash promotion. i heard the "congrats" only ONCE, and most of my calls ended up with "due to technical difficulties....".
and there's only one national call center.
i guess everyone else got super lucky and called in when the call center was actually working worth a damn, and i managed to call in only when it was completely obliterated by other calls and going haywire.

and they even had that customer service line open the entire contest period, so i could have called them to ask for clarification, but the automated phone line never mentioned it.

I finally decided to call the Customer Service number and spoke with a very kind woman. She informed that that I have a "character" being shipped to me and that it was shipped on the 18th. There was no other winnings listed for me.

I also asked about my sister, who won a handful of times like I did, and she had a "character" shipped to her on the 18th as well. There was nothing else listed for her except for the Flocked Stumpy she had already received.

It seems like the more someone called during the promotion, the more likely they would be to actually win.

i called too. didnt ask how many wins i had, but she said my winnings shipped on the 18th so hopefully its a couple. i won like 6 times probably, but im not sure. im not too worried as long as i get one.

I'm a new forum member, and I supposedly won. However, I still havent gotten a Stump Smash in the mail yet. I only won once btw. Not sure what I should do. Tips?

I got both a Boomer and a Wrecking Ball on monday, but no Flocked Stump Smash. I won them at the same time, any ideas to why I haven't got the flocked Stump Smash? Anyone else get the flocked stump smash later than the normal skylanders?

and everyone should do this, just to make sure they actually won something, and to give them a swift kick in the pants if its stuck in processing

anyways, i still didnt get any of my skylanders, im sure its been more than 8 weeks...

I got 2 wreckingballs and a boomer some time last week first part of this week not sure I was away they were in my mail when I got back.

I won over 20 flocked stumpys, so far only 2 have come. Not going to complain. My son ha sone opened, and one to save unopened. I may call on monday just to see, but not that worried about the rest. They seemed to be more than able to get all of the randoms- wrecking ball and boomer to us just fine tho. I am thinking they may have had more calls win than there were flocked to go around.

I just realized that free Skylander I won never came. *unimpressed*

My friend got 3 wrecking balls and one boomer last week, she shipped them out to me last week...closed in the boxes, so they were a surprise to me. I am still convinced the lack of FSS, is a production delay from Activision, as not one person on here has gotten one in weeks.

New update on the sidekicks They will have their own personal skylanders display. The blue bag is decorated with terrafin, stealth elf, trigger happy, and gill grunt. Purple bag will be decorated with Boomer, Spyro, Stump Smash, and Eruptor. Another blue bag will have Gill grunt and the purple bag will have Spyro. Wave 1 Starts July 9th. Wave 2 Starts July 23rd. Wave 3 Starts August 6th. Wave 4 Starts August 20th. There will be Trigger Happy, Gill Grunt, and Terrafin displays looking like them, and a school bus with skylanders in it. Eruptor is on top of it. Ah. We saw those displays back when we first found out about the promotion (see the article Dark has on the front page) but it's nice to see the bags.

But now we play the waiting game to figure out the last question: Is it going to be a store exclusive?

So the sidekicks promo is hitting the gaming blogs in earnest as of today. Kotaku posted a mistake riddled story (below) referencing the updated slides from GoNintendo, and it's getting retweeted and linked all over the place. People are getting up in arms thinking there won't be figures, just an in-game bonus.

Enthusiast sites...isn't that us? If the Kotaku writer had just bothered to read through the forums a bit, he could have written a much better article.

UPDATE: Heh...typical internet. Now I'm seeing stories being re-written using the same source that are even sillier. One from the Verge is so bad that the author states in one paragraph that you have to mail in UPC codes, and in the next claims a redeemable code is in the bag.

In the first image of the Frito Lay PowerPoint slide it says, "Consumer offer will allow consumers to redeem a free Skylanders sidekick character with purchase." Redeem is the keyword, so it looks like there will be some kind of code inside of the bag. How it will be redeemed, it doesn't say but it would be a good idea if the stores carrying the promotional bags had the characters behind the counter so the consumers could redeem their code in-store to receive the free figure. This would also save them some costs in shipping and going through the difficulties of organizing and preparing the characters to be shipped to the correct addresses.

It looks like it says something about "Free online game" and "playable skylanders character"
It looks like the packs with four characters on them have sidekicks on them, while the ones with the single characters say something about an online game.

^ It's most likely a code like before to unlock an online minigame in the Spyro's Universe game. To me, it's not worth buying the chips with that code because I rarely play the online game so all of my money is going to the Sidekick's promotional bags.

So I think we can probably assume there's 2 promos. One will probably give you a code for something in Universe. (Hopefully something besides a game that'll just be released later) and the other one will allow you to actually get a Sidekick.

Dang. Hopefully they don't have them in 2 different stores again, making it super confusing.

I am now preparing for July 9th.

Oh man this is getting exciting, I just hope I can aquire these bags (Course, knowing about it before hand will help) Since I knew absolutely nothing of the past promotion (Well I only got the online game code bags) But didn't think much of it since I buy these bags of chips on a regular basis anyway.

Ummmm...... fellow skylander enthusiasts, am I the ony one crapping in their pants that the bags seem to clearly indicate the word win. It looks like another contest to me. I just hope its as easy to win as the Flock Smash one was and they have taken the kink out of the system. All I can say is that I am not happy about this concept. Its not going to be fun to have to win a whole set of sidekicks.

By the way that bulk box of chips is a KnockOut display. Its a display of how the chips will be merchandised and distributed to stores and probably not intended for retail sale.

You are certainly not alone by far. I am scared and skeptical too on how easy/hard this'll be to get all of them. Since i"d love to have them all, as hard as that is gonna be (I'm sure).

I am afraid that we will all be endlessly buying chips to come out with nothing but some chips.
then we will be forced to buy them online.
