Ilasi still had her doubts, but, with many others in the crew seemingly confident (or, at the very least, hiding their own doubts), she decided to at least put hers to the side for now. "You're right. He's pretty tough. He should be fine..." There was one feeling that Ilasi could not shake, however.
"You know, Maverick, people will be counting on me today. On my magic, to dispel the fog for at least a little bit. I'm hoping that whatever this creature is, it won't stop me from getting the spell to work. I don't... want to let anyone down," she finished euphemistically.

"I want every boarding craft and every lifeboat to be ready for operation," Sere ordered in general to his crew. "We'll all be sitting ducks in one craft. I don't intend for us to all be sunk on a whim. We will defeat this thing, and it will never threaten anyone else again." Sere knew the dangers - however, with how many the creature had killed, his hands were tied. He would try to mitigate the dangers as much as possible.

Dex, Sapphire and two other members of the new guild made their way to the guardian base.

”Why are we going here leader, this heatprotection is very expensive and we still have a lot of cities to go to.” The man driving the horsecarriage said

”Shut up, I am sure our leader knows what he is doing!” The dwarf from earlier said as they reached the gates.

”We will be going without you two, and remember right now we are weak and the last thing we need is to start a fight inside this new guild. As we get our power back we can start thinking about future, now we need all the help we can get and every ally we can find.” Dex said

The two others nodded.

Sapphire and Dex made their way to the gate waiting to somebody to notice them. ”You have been talking so much recently, are you sick or something” Sapphire said clearly playfully. ”That does not mean I like it” Dex said. Sapphire smiling a bit ” Well I like the new style” She said. Dex blushing ” Focus to the mission please” Dex said trying to be serious, but his voice was more unsure. ”Sure dear” Sapphire said clearly liking to see Dex was still so sensitive about his feelings.

As Sere finished up his announcement, Angora was left thinking about many things. Everything that has happened ever since she defeated Darkmatter. What a miserable time that was. When Maverick and Shade decided to go with her, she was very against it, but with time, she learned that the journey with them he been the only time where she has ever been truly happy. It was a life anybody could dream of. Out traveling, visiting many places without a care in the world. Maverick was a very successful traveling merchant, so he always made enough money for food and spoil an ocasional whim they had. What a happy life it was... until they reached Aelinon, at war with the trolls and where Shade's powers and temper started to act out again. It had been such an awful domino effect that lead them to this ship, with a creepy island and a humongous sea beast they were actually going to face on purpose.

But as Angora reminenced the past, she had remembered something... or rather, someone.
"Say Shady, what do you think happened to Dex and that girl fox? They actually went with Maverick to help us. Funny that venomous fox. He was actually with the Guardians at some point. Next thing I know, he's helping Maverick. Curious critter he is." Angora commented, remembering how treacherous and evil Dex was once before. But he, along with his possible girlfriend, saved them from the blue dragon once, and they intended to save them again. Had it been Maverick's personality? Their newfound freedom? Whatever it was, she actually started to miss them. Even at this point in time, she still didn't know that the venomous knife she carried around for precautions was actually a gift from Dex himself...

Maverick listened to Sere and didn't believed that was a good plan. If the big ship sunk, the lifeboats will be easily accessible for the beast. It would be like a big toad among a fly convention. But as always, Maverick didn't share his opinion. No matter how ridiculous I was, he knew Sere didn't like to be questioned.

After Sere was done, he then proceeded to answer to Ilasi.
"Come on Ilasi. You're always too busy thinking about pleasing other people. You're always worried about disappointing others. I have seen your magic at work. It's amazing! Fantástica! It's great that you always think about others, but you must also think of yourself. Stop thinking about disappointing others. Just believe in yourself." Maverick encouraged, knowing from Angora that magic was heavily tied to emotions. He believed that Ilasi thinking too much about pleasing everybody instead of truly concentrating is what made her magic fail sometimes, so it was something she had to grow out of.

As Risar and the others finished eating-- the large Minotaur soon began to issue more specific orders to some of the crew. "Are you ready?," Raclaw said to anyone near him in general. He looked at Chester and knew the little Beagle wouldn't be able to help too much in the fight other than staying alive. As for himself-- he would do what he could rather it be in the air or otherwise. He would do his part and ensure that the ship and it's crew made it back safely-- hopefully to Latnok waiting for them. One could hope at least.

Once all of the supplemental craft were deemed to be ready, Sere gave the order to set sail. The battle ahead would be just one of many he's faced - he had faced similar monsters in the past, including the great dragon Shiavara. He had no intention of falling here.
"As soon as we get sign of the beast, we will deploy all of the other craft," he called out. "The beast's attention will likely be drawn to the ship; depending on the circumstances, I may be on one of the boarding craft. Should the light fail to destroy it, I will bring the water to a boil. The first opportunity we have, I want every weapon we have being thrown at it. It's a big creature, but it will bleed like any other. We also have the life orb - we have many tools at this disposal. I have been killing monsters for over a century - we will win."

Ilasi gave Maverick a nervous smile. "Thank you. I'll try... We need the sun to come through during this fight. So I have one main job. What will you do during all this? We have limited siege weaponry, and you don't have any magic..." Ilasi was asking for Maverick's concern, rather than any sense of him not pulling his own weight.
"All we need him to do is not fall overboard," Leoquin said wryly. "I'd rather not have to rescue him." Indeed, Leoquin still saw Maverick as a load to be carried, at least in battle - he was, however, at least worth keeping around for his cooking.

As Sere spoke-- Raclaw nodded, willing to help in any possible manner. His telepathy was all but useless against the white beast, but he still had his fire breath and the advantage of having the air. If nothing else, he could distract it and/or keep an eye on the animals on board depending on the circumstances. He trusted Chester of course, but Dahlia was more likely to panic especially when her owner could be in danger. 'Owner. Oh Latnok-- please be alright when we come back.,' he briefly thought before pushing the thought back. They had a battle to focus on after all and everything else-- could wait for later.

Not that far away, Risar stood issuing orders and keeping an eye on the crew. One thing he always enjoyed was fighting and navel combat was just another form of that. He stood prouder and more confidently than usual; a look of determination and focus could seen on the large minotaur's face.

Maverick looked at Leoquin with a scowl, but then opted to ignore him completely. He understood Ilasi's concern, so he had the perfect response for her.
"You don't need to worry about me Ilasi. Have you forgotten? I lived among pirates. It's a life I despised, but I learned a thing or two." Maverick assured, not even caring if Leoquin heard. He didn't want to be underestimated. Curiously enough, he didn't consider himself a pirate anymore back then, but rather that he lived among them. And what very few knew is that Maverick still had that arsenal of weapons he confiscated from Ilasi's lake back when the excecuted thug attacked him.

“I’m sure they are helping the guardians on the main land. They have been resourceful.” Shade said. “Though I do wish they would of come along.”

"Leave them out there Shady. Wherever they are, they have a better life than us." Angora said sarcastically, too aware of where they were going right now. She didn't know if Neo's sword will work, but she had her venomous knife just in case it could be needed. According to the man that gave it to her, it could kill even a behemoth, so maybe this creature woul be no exception...

"We will move exactly where we were before," Sere said. "If it seeks to claim these seas, it will return, just as it did last time. I do not believe it will be expecting us to be as prepared as we will be this time, though."

While Icestorm was expressing his concern, Maverick went downstairs after giving a gentle and encouraging shoulder pat to Ilasi, willing to protect and even surprise her with his abilities. Everybody there thought he was a load and a weakling JUST because he was a pacifist, but very few knew this hybrid's real abilities. Maverick despised violence, but he knew this time was out of the question. He had to use his fighting skills if he ever hoped to survive, or at least attempt to.

He went to his cabin to get his hyperspace bag, knowing he had many item's there that could prove useful, including the thug's weapons. He then went to Dahlia's enclosure and lead her to the main deck, knowing that if the ship sunk, she would be the first one to go. She hated the idea of exposing his dear mount to the mighty beast, but she would be safer there than way below the ship. As rider and mount headed to the main deck, Maverick decided to let Dahlia on the stairs. At least that way, she would be safe enough and see little of the monster, even though Maverick knew she would be able to sense it like before anyway...

"If you do not think we can win, then you can swim to the shore and leave my crew," Sere said. "I will not suffer cravens to be a part of my crew. If you cannot trust your captain, then I cannot trust you. So make your choice - stay aboard and fight, or swim and leave. Either way, we are doing this. Thousands of lives are at stake, and every day we wait is a day that the beast can destroy another ship full of innocents - men, women, children, doesn't matter."

With her keen sense of hearing, Angora managed to hear the conversation. She was glad that she and Maverick weren't the only ones doubting the mission, although it came of no surprise to her the outcome of that pep talk. It was Sere's solution to just kick out anybody who questioned him, no matter how dangerous or ludicrous his decisions were. He always expected everybody to follow his orders as if he was a king, and that really irritated Angora. Thankfully, she had learned to keep her mouth shut, so she didn't intervened. But there were a few sailors around that were most likely hearing the conversation as well. She suspected that besides her, Shade, Maverick and now Icestorm, there were others who were too nervous and doubtful about this mission...

"Don't worry. One way or another-- we'll find a way.," Raclaw said encouraging anyone nearby and mentally preparing himself for battle. Unlike the pirates involved in the previous battle, this creature was much bigger and knew how to block him. Still, he was confident that the Guardians of all people would be able to strategize a way to take it down. If there was anything he learned during his many months with them-- it was that they (and Godfather Sere) were a resourceful bunch. He looked at Chester and Dahlia, giving the two animals and companions a reassuring nod. "Chester-- keep an eye on Dahlia and we'll keep you both safe. Just like last time.," Raclaw barked to the little Beagle. Worst case scenario-- he already had an idea of how to keep Chester secure on his back, just in case the ship did sink and they had to abandon it. Such an scenario was unlikely to be allowed to happen by Godfather Sere, however.

Risar grinned, eager and ready for battle. His role would likely be more that of commanding versus actual fighting on account of his attacks being strictly physical, but he was willing to eagerly go into the battle regardless. And who knew? Perhaps they might get close enough for him to use his mighty great axes. He gave an even bigger grin as the thought came to him.

By this moment, Dahlia was already a nervous wreck. She could feel the ship moving, which meant they were back in the water.
"Me no like this. This water. No run. Tall human scary. Beast scarier. It out there. It mad. Where to other scary human? Me no likie. Where dragon hair going? Rider scared. Me protect it. Who protect me? Troll with black dragon. Black dragon scary. Where wyvern? He scary too! Dirt buffalo in water? She no alright!" Dahlia communicated to Chester, looking like a poodle who just received an electric shock. If the ship was on the move again, it meant water. Water meant monster. It made Dahlia even more scared than the times she looked at Veris.

"Don't worry-- they won't let anything happen to us. Raclaw is a fighter and if he can help take the scary beast down, than it won't bother me or you ever again. He's the best protector you could ever ask for and if he feels that he's most needed helping the humans.. than I trust him. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't even be here. He saved me from a terrible fate and gave me a new life.," Chester responded showing just how much he trusted the beloved fur dragon. While he might've preferred to be with Raclaw, he had seen him fight and knew that his magic-enhanced combat skills might serve more use out there with the humans. He wished could do more to help protect or fight alongside Raclaw, but alas his size alone was a limiting factor.

Dex and Sapphire had made their way in to the base, and informed a guard to tell they where there.
Now they where just waiting to hear who will be seeing them.

Eventually, one of the Guardians - an Apprentice, lacking dragonhide armor - came to relay a message to Dex and his partner. "Please head to Adjudicator Bier," he said. "He may have a new job lined up for you." The apprentice rushed off as quickly as he had come, seeming pretty occupied.

Dex at first wanted to say somethin, but did not say anything and just nodded. Dex made his way with Sapphire to the room he usually saw Bier. He saw that the door was open so he just walked in Sapphire close behind him.

Sere, prepared for the battle ahead, had the hexphage suppression medicine prepared - though he wasn't sure it was a risk he wanted to take. Eventually, however, he relented. Pulling from his pack, he tossed a large vial at Shade.
"Do not make me regret this," he said.

As the fog thickened, the crew remained very quiet-- a tad uneasy and watching for any sign of the White Shadow. Raclaw stood towards the edge and opened his mind; scanning for any sign of the beast. As he scanned, he remembered how Dahlia and Chester had been able to much more easily detect the large sea creature thanks to their animal senses and its ability to all but block his telepathy. "Chester-- keep an eye out and tell me if either you or Dahlia sense the creature.," he said to the little Beagle in the duo's usual mix of barks and dog noises. As he 'spoke,' he did so in a quieter and slightly cautious tone. It was still strange how well the creature had been able to block him-- possibly matching or even suppressing him in its telepathic abilities. Of course, it hadn't yet shown an ability to speak telepathicially. However, it had still shown itself to be quite efficient in blocking him and that didn't entirely discount the possibility of it reading their minds ethers. Not that far away-- Risar watched and gave the occasional order to break the silence.

Dahlia was too nervous to sense anything. It was as if the creature was both everywhere and nowhere. She was left thinking who in their right mind would tackle danger this way. Maverick was scanning the area, trying to remain calm, but after seeing his dear mount in a way he never has before, he went to her so they could both give comfort to each other.

“I promise. I’ll give some to Angora as well.” He drank some not liking the tast but was worth it. He then gave the rest to Angora. “Drink it. He is letting us off the hook.”

The fog was very thick and very quiet except the sound of sails and wake.

As the fog became thick and sinister, Angora couldn't help but shiver. It took her a while to realize Shade was addressing to her.
"Oh... this? Thank you..." she said as she took the vial, recognizing the liquid. She was so uneasy she didn't even feel the awful taste or the stomachache that usually went with it. She didn't know what made Sere give them more antidote, but she was glad he was smart enough to give them a fighting chance.

Adjudicator Bier was sitting calmly at his desk, having expected Dex to return. "Ah, welcome back, Dex, and... your partner, I take it?" He had more important business to worry about than Dex's personal life, however.
"Enough of that. Let me give you the details of the mission. I have been getting rather odd reports lately - reports of priests ushering in some god. Now, normally this wouldn't be meaningful - but we are also getting reports of miracles. People getting cured of smallpox with the wave of a hand. Powerful divination. This, all provided by a deity apparently known as Ishulgu.
"Now, I do not know how much of this is real and how much of it is rumor. What I need you to do is infiltrate this group through any means - potentially by joining them, or by shadowing them. They seem to be devoting a lot of their effort to those who are at their wit's end. Either way, we will need to get somewhat deeper into their operations to know what the deal behind this is." Adjudicator Bier awaited any potential questions from the two before proceeding further.

Meanwhile, up in the fog, the ishiud mastermind remained, hovering, keeping itself hidden in the fog. Its powerful senses allowed it to keep track of everything happening below, despite the reduced visibility. It had one purpose right now - watch, analyze...

As Raclaw telepathically scanned their surroundings, he once again picked up on an oddly familiar presence somewhere up above. 'It's you again. What--,' he started to think when it felt as if the ship had suddenly hit an reef. "Well guys-- it's here!," he said stating the blatantly obvious. "Men-- get ready. Remember what the captain said and do not hesitate. Hesitation will be your defeat and we.. will not fail.," Risar said in a somewhat confident tone perhaps taking some inspiration from Guardians themselves. "Chester. Whatever happens-- stick to Dahlia. Keep her calm and keep an eye on her.," Raclaw said in dogspeak as Chester barked something in response. Several the men began preparing for the soon coming battle, while a couple were still in shock at just how massive this White Shadow was.

With the creature beginning to show itself, Sere grabbed a vial of dragon brew, chugging the contents before tossing the vial out. "Here it comes. Be ready on my mark, Ilasi!"
"Understood, captain!" Ilasi called out. She would be ready to dispel the fog - if only for a brief moment - when Sere needed it. For now, she was on standby, ready to help anyone who fell overboard.
Sere drew Grimbane - calling on its power, he attempted to poke at the creature through the shadows underwater, in an attempt to goad it to the surface.

The mastermind patiently watched the battle - observing, analyzing. To what ends would it use this information?

As sailors rushed to perform emergency repairs, Ilasi tended to her magic - feeling the movement of the water in order to pinpoint the creature's location. "I think I have its location," she said - raising her voice to be heard over the sound of the rushing water.
"Excellent. Keep track of it," Sere responded. He moved to let Veris out of his enclosure - he would definitely be needed soon.
Once Veris' enclosure was opened, he immediately took to the sky on Sere's command, leaving Sere on the ground.

The whirlpool soon started affecting navigation, making it harder to keep the ship in one piece. The prisoners and some crew members in the lower decks soon began to do what they could to stop the water from leaking-- securing the covering the holes where possible as per Risar's instructions spoken prior to the battle. Raclaw, meanwhile, scanned probed all around the ship-- making an mental note at which sections sent back nothing and which sections seemed to be outright blocking his telepathy. "So do I! This creature may be able to block my telepathy, but it's trying too hard-- and I sense it blocking me.," Raclaw said also raising his voice and sending an mental image to Godfather Sere. It was an plausible location of the creature or at least where the creature most likely was based off his readings (or lack of). Risar continued to issue orders-- keeping the ship afloat and on course as much as possible. Chester elsewhere on deck kept both Dahlia and Maverick comfortable, occasionally talking to the mount and doing what he could to keep her calm.

"NOW!" Sere telepathed to Ilasi. On command, Ilasi focused intently, channeling her magic to the water around her to the best of her ability...
...the fog in the area around the ship was dispelled. Not missing a beat, Sere grabbed the lens, focusing the power of the sunlight charging up a devastating light beam with Grimbane. With his own abilities being enhanced by Grimbane and the dragon brew, and the light beam being amplified by the refractor, a powerful ray of light began to hit the water - it would start to heat up rapidly. Ilasi was staying attentive, ready to cool off the water where needed...

As the rest decided to attack the beast, Angora decided to try and communicate with it. It blocked Raclaw, but maybe her kind of telepathy would work. She was already starting to feel the magic rushing through her.
"Sea creature? What do you want? Why are you here?" she asked, trying to remember the scroll she once read in Blue's castle. She was as battle ready as the rest, but she wanted to try some talking before making her move. As she spoke, she could see Maverick trying his best to assist the sailors while the nervous Dahlia was panicking near the stairs...

Preparing to join the others-- Raclaw began to spread his wings and take off into the air. Locating the white beast, he quickly decended and started to flame the tail end of the large sea monster; hoping to distract it and draw it's attention. He could still use his telepathy in or out of the air.

"The ship will hold," Sere called out confidently as he continued to focus the beam. "I'll use force magic to have the corporeal shadows I create absorb the brunt of the impact." Sere wasn't foolish enough to come to battle without being able to stop the ship from going down with something as simple as a basic ram.

Angora heard what Shade and Sere said and saw what Raclaw was doing. She caught a small glimpse of the creature earlier, and it was ridiculously humongous as far as she could tell. She now knew it had no interest in talking to anybody.
"What if the ship doesn't hold? We... I have to try something..." the little troll said as she placed herself on the starboard. Thwn, with much concentration and a severe strain, she started to recreate the spheric shield she placed around herself, but this time, below the ship. It just had to work. If the ship wasn't strong enough and Raclaw's distraction didn't work, the creature could sink the ship, maybe even slice it in half with it's own body...

Dex nodded not paying much attention to others stuff then the job”I will see what I can do. But do you have any idea when Sere will be back, my last trip was very different that I had tought, and the situation has changed very much from the moment I made the deal with him. But for now we can do things like we did before....... but about the job any leads where should i start” Dex said with thoughtfull voice

"Godfather Sere is out on a mission," Adjudicator Bier informed Dex. "I am acting on his behalf, and we can sort out any of the details of your contract. As for leads, there have been two main areas the priests have been seen - battlefields ravaged by the war, and major cities. To that end, I would suggest Redwater, though you may find leads elsewhere."

Then the beast jumped out of the water and opened its wings which were twice the size of the creature alone. It roared which shook the air. The sky’s soon started to turn dark with storm clouds. The creatures back looked like sparks of electricity started to come off it. Lightning flashed and it fired lightning from its maw at the ships hull.

It was getting difficult to fly. Shade blasted it with his blue fire which only seemed to make it more angry. “Raclaw! Our fire isn’t affecting it! It’s too powerful!

With the creature out of the water, Angora had a very good idea on how exceptionally large the creature is. She even dared to believe it was even bigger than a behemoth. It could sink the ship quite easily she gathered, but she imagined it was stalling to toy with them. What's worse, it could also fly.
"This is absurd! How will be able to beat it if it just going to randomly swim away and emerge? Fire doesn't seem to do a thing to it." Angora said, commenting more to herself since Shade was away trying to harm it. If he couldn't damage him... she wondered... she knew it was ridiculously risky, but she knew they were running out of time. Maverick was helping with the catapults, which didn't seemed to be doing so much either, so she believed something else had to be done. She placed herself on one side of the ship, hoping the creature would fly nearby so she could try to jump at it. If she could only ride it for a little while and stab it with the poisonous knife... but she kept wondering if the poison will work. This was a humongous creature, and she was afraid the knife would be like a simple bee sting to it. And if it was, the beast will know she was trying to harm it... she was very afraid...

With the light of the sun gone, the light beam grew weaker, causing Sere to cease his efforts with it. Sere remained undeterred, however. "VERIS! TO ME!" he cried out to his mount. With great difficulty, Veris reached him, and Sere quickly hopped on. He didn't bother strapping himself in.
Flying toward the enemy, Sere bended the light around Veris, rendering the two invisible. He just had to wait for the opening now...

Meanwhile, on the deck, the rain was causing Ilasi and Leoquin to shift forms, as the blast of electricity surged through one of the lightning rods. "I need to get that rudder taken care of," Leoquin said. "I'll get the material and work on that. Overboard watch is all on you right for now."
"I'll take care of it," Ilasi said, trying to hide her doubt. How were the others able to face this thing so callously?

Angora was now also frustrated. The beast couldn't fly downwards if it was too busy focusing on Veris and Sere.
"Those idiots..." she whispered among the stormy weather, as she tried to find another method. Until she heard what Shade said and then had an idea.
"Shade, now that the creature is distracted, fly me to it's back. I have this knife... we only get one shot. Fire, and obviously lightning aren't hurting it. The weapons aren't doing much either, so we have to try another method." Angora instructed loudly to be heard among the thunder, pretty certain Shade would refuse to risk her life like that, but she was going to force him if she had to.

From his end, Maverick took a simple crossbow from his hyperspace bag. It once belonged to the thief, and it wasn't as cost,y or elegant as his other weapons, but it had to work. Maverick knew a simple bolt wouldn't be enough to kill the beast, but if the pain was distracting enough, it would give them a better chance to attack. He aimed at the White Shadow, but with the wind and altitude, he was afraid the aim would Mir, or worse, hit Veris or Sere. He instead waited for the creature to be close enough... IF he got close enough...

Having foreseen the beast's attack with his foresight, Sere nevertheless decided that charging headfirst into the beast would give him the best opportunity. Using his own magic, he focused on redirecting the blast incoming to Veris to himself instead. His armor helped mitigate the damage somewhat; there were suoerficial burns he suffered underneath it.
Up above, he jumped off Veris' back in an attempt to mount the beast. He would draw this creature's attention as best as he could, giving his crew as good an opportunity as he could.

Using a force bolt, Sere deflected the incoming water. His boots and gloves did not conduct electricity, with it being a rather common weapon for many creatures; he would remain undeterred in his mounting attempt.
"This is for every innocent life you have taken!" he called out. "Fight long and hard - but we will destroy you."
