Asuna shook her head.
"Arctic dogs get the worst of the fever, so we can't say for sure."

Kargolo padded into the cave. He threw the meat on a rock near the entrance, and he sighed.
"It got away. The hole was too small. I could've waited, but it was too...uh...cute. Nice yummy zebra, though, and here's some squirrel. W-what's wrong with Matilly?" The bird asked.

Kirito looked at Kargolo.
"Matilda's an arctic dog. In the savannah, arctic dogs always get the Desert Fever, and usually the worst kind. Matilda has Desert Fever."

"What do we need to do to make her better?" Scott asked.

Asuna looked at him.
"She needs to eat, drink, and rest. That's the best you can do."

"Of course." Scott said. Lila quickly went to fetch some water.

Asuna tried hard to get Matilda to eat. Finally, they got some mouthfuls down.

Kona relaxed. He walked out of the den, and looked around carefully.

Kargolo nodded. He twitched. He turned and flew out of the den, heading to the abandoned jenna cave. He saw Kona there, looking uneasy. He dropped down and stood on the den, brushing it closed.
"Hello dog." He spat.

Kona lowered his ears. "Ahh... Hellooooo." He started quickly back to the water, as it wasn't far. He was almost here. Kona started to jump in.

"Oh no you don't." Kargolo leapt into the air, and he swept down, about to catch the dog. He just missed. He ended up catching a jumping fish. He dropped it, then he turned in the air to try to catch the dog again.

Lila brought back some nearby water, however, there wasn't much to be found. She handed it to Kirito and Asuna. "Here," she said, her eyes full of worry. Scott was laying next to Matilda, not leaving her side. He looked up as Lila came in and said, "I see you're back, but where's Kargolo? He's been gon for a while."

Matilda took the water from Asuna. Her purple eyes were cloudy, and she was even more frail looking than ever before.

Kirito shook his head.
"Kargolo went off chasing a dog, I think."

Kona saw his chance and darted into the water. He swum into the deep part.

Scott nuzzled Matilda gently, then laid his head on his paws. Lila went over to Asuna and whispered, "Does she need to move to a place where it's colder?"

Matilda whimpered softly in pain and slightly closed her eyes.

Asuna shook her head.
"There aren't any colder places."

"Arctic dogs should stay in the Arctic." Kirito says with a small shake of his head.

"Not the mountains?" Lila said. "Would it be colder there?"

Kona swam in one spot.

EDIT: They should go to the Winter Bearrics! (Me and my friend made them up awhile ago, it's really cold, and windy, and icey.)

Kargolo bravely paddled in the shallow part of the watering hole. He tried to avoid getting his feathers wet, and his legs made him really tall, so he leapt into the deeper part. He stumbled over a rock, and fell underwater, his feathers and wings wet. He tried to swim up, but he couldn't. He drifted down, down, down into the depths.

OOC: How deep is this thing?

Asuna cocked her head.
"Those might be cold. The only problem is getting Matilda there."

"We can carry her, or something." Scott said. "But I'm not going to let her die here."

OOC: Pretty deep. Like a lake.

Matilda heaved herself to her feet.
"I'll walk." She whimpers painfully.

Kirito shakes his head.

Kargolo slammed against the wet ground. Bubbles rose from his beak.

"All the way to the mountains?" Scott said in disbelief. "Are you absolutely sure?"

Matilda nodded.

Kirito shakes his head.
"She's lying. As soon as she takes three steps, she'll fall."

Kargolo reacted quickly. He moved as if he was flying. He leapt onto land. He gave up on the dog. He ran back to the cave, now dry.
"Tilly needs transport, right? I can fly her to the mountains. It's cooler in the air and that may help her."

Matilda shook her head.
"I'm not flying."

"It's that or die. Now you're coming with me." The eagle said.

Kona relaxed. The Savannah awfully hot today, as Summer was here.

Matilda snarled.
"I'll die."

"I won't let you." With that he tried to snatch her by the tail.

Matilda's reaction time was still top notch and she dodged quickly.
"I will not get off the ground! Dogs belong on the ground!" she snarled.

"You need to survive! I won't let more of my friends leave! Now I know I way you can stay on the ground and fly at the same time..." He pulled a vine and tied it around a rock with his forepaws. He pulled backwards, and it didn't snap. It was a strong vine. He untied it, then he wrapped it round a tree. Then he took to the skies. He didn't let go. He uprooted the tree. He was a strong bird, s he flew a bit then dropped. He let go of the vine and tree. He untied it again, then he waited for Tilly's answer.

"Delgato and Alyx had to leave. They had other things to do. And I will walk. I can walk. I won't be a helpless pup." Matilda snaps stubbornly.

"Stubborn as a wild boar. Worse than my mother." He twirled the vine in his paw, and he said: "You can still walk. I can fly low. I'm there to help." He nodded to her.

Matilda sighs.
"I will walk on my own."

"Fine then. Go all that way by yourself. And most likely die on the way. If you faint, then I'm helping you." Kargolo snapped, and he grabbed a meaty squirrel from behind his wing.

Kona liked traveling. He skipped along the Savannah.

Scott stepped between the two of them and said, "There's no need to fight over this. If Matilda ends up not being able to walk, then we'll help her in any way we can, but until then, I see no need to continue this discussion."

Matilda growled and padded off.

Kona continued skipping, even though his paws were sore.

Kargolo snarled and ran out into the Savannah. He saw Kona skipping round. He looked in pain. Time to put him out of his misery...Kargolo thought. He charged as fast as he could to slam into the dog.

Scott went after Matilda, and Lila went after Kargolo.

Matilda had headed off, far from the group. She didn't know that Scott was following her.

Kona barked.

Kargolo leapt onto Kona before he could escape.

"Matilda!" Scott called. "Wait for me!"

Lila saw that Kargolo had leaped on Kona and ran as fast as she could over to them. "Kargolo!" She hissed. "What are you doing?"

Matilda turned in surprise.
"Scott?!" she says in disbelief.

Kargolo released Kona. "Getting food."
