[Nice resolution, Kevin. And congrats, even though I already told you that. OKAY, we left off with Knightingale asking Wells his story... So we'll see what I can do.]

"The portal! The portal you came through! It was my only way out of here, and now it's gone! For another twelve years!" Nathaniel cried. "Calm down," Umbra growled. "What do you mean, 'it's gone'?"

"The last portal I went through to get here... to kill a Templar captain... it closed, and never opened again. That's why I've been stuck here!" Wells answered. Umbra furrowed her brow. "But... twelve years..." She looked at Kevin. "It opened for us and we'd only been on Earth for-"

"That's just it!" Nathaniel interrupted. "Time is different on Earth than here!" He cackled. The man's insane, Umbra thought

Kevin went wide eyed "whoa what?? So the last time we were in Skyrim was like...years and years ago?"

"Apparently," Umbra muttered, shaking her head in disbelief. "But that doesn't make sense," she said, turning back to Nathaniel. "There are other portals, and I know for a fact that they don't stay closed for twelve years. Have you even looked for them?" Wells stared at her. "No! When I haven't been chased till my feet bled by these damn Imperials I've been slaving for them. No chance!" Umbra winced. I can relate.

[I almost thought I'd made a plot hole... SAVED.]

"Ok...well...never mind about the other portals for now, we sort of have something to do..."

[Who doesn't love Duck Dynasty?]

Umbra glanced at Kevin. "Right. And not much time to do it in." She walked over to him, peering up at him as he was still on his horse. She motioned for him to lean down. "Do you think we can trust this guy? He seems to be a bit of a mental case."

[Sometimes. ]

[Coolio. ]

[His grandfather is sickly and he's been too busy otherwise. He said he'd be back when he could.]

[Indeed.]

[Yeah, so much for Kevin's "resolution", eh?]

[My resolution is still within me ]

"Yes, indeed he does. Maybe we can like..knock him out or something and interrogate him later, I love interrogations." Kevin looked over at Wells, about to say something, but then chocked and stayed silent. "I dunno what I'm doing" he muttered.

[Sure it is. ]

Umbra shook her head. "By the Eight, what is it with you and knocking people out?" She paused. "Well, he's an Assassin, and therefore an ally. Insofar, anyway. We'll offer him to join us, but be as vague as possible about our mission, all right?" She turned back to Nathaniel and said, "Hey, come with us. We're Assassins, you're Assassin, we're all friends here. And we must rescue our Mentor." Wells didn't raise an argument. "Right, right... Anywhere but here," he muttered. Umbra nodded and jumped back on her horse, and realized he didn't have one. She gazed at her company, and said to Serana, "Do you have the same ability as your brother? The bat thing?"

Serana looked back at Umbra, sighing. "Yes... Unfortunately..."

Umbra gave a slight grin. "Then would you be so kind..." she started, and gestured to Wells.

"Fine! By the Nine and all Daedras..." She muttered, dismounting from her horse. "There, take my horse, treat her nice..."

(just get on that damn boat and go to the castle xD)

Umbra grinned again and motioned for Wells to get on. He complied, nodding at Serana for lending her horse. "Let us ride," said Umbra, and she spurred her horse forward. Umbra figured they were near the edge of the Rift, and if they rode on without stopping they could reach Whiterun by nightfall.

[Do you remember that time when role playing here was all we did and we had fun and everything was great? :I]

[Yeah, it was so magnificent. We should do it again ]

Kevin didn't say much through the ride, he kept a close eye on Wells though.
The last time I was in Whiterun...it was where I met her...

[Totally.]

Umbra was ecstatic to be back in Skyrim. It's where the second chapter of her life began, the one where she found out who she was. Not the best chapter in her life, but perhaps the simplest. And now, it was back to Whiterun, where the third chapter had begun. And before she knew it, Umbra and her comrades were hobbling their horses at the stables and making their way into the city. Umbra remembered her first time here, where she found out she was the Dragonborn. Things were a lot more peaceful now compared to then, and they waltzed right into the city without a hitch.

[By the way, Kevin, ever read the latest of what I sent you? ]

Kevin looked around Whiterun- nothing much had changed, but a blacksmith shop in front of him caught his eye- Knightingale thought about his flintlock, which had no projectiles to shoot, or even any flint or gun powder.
Skyrim wouldn't have that sort of stuff...

[Indeed I did! ]

[Ahah, I got your reply. ]

Umbra sighed to herself. She had dwelt on her decision nearly the whole way here, and no other option seemed very viable to her, judging from what she'd heard and read over the years. She turned to the group. "We need to rest," she said. "Let's go to the Bannered Mare, get something to eat."

Back at the Castle Volkihar, Dalazer and his fellow vampires were having their normal bloody dinner. He was looking troubled, he couldn't take his mind of what was going to happen soon, he knew what would happen.

[Oooh Dalazer knows what's coming for him, how unfortunate ]

"Ahh yes, I am quite hungry indeed, and tired." Kevin started walking to the Bannered Mare.

[Hehe. ]

"Too bad they don't have lasagna in Skyrim," Umbra joked, nudging his arm with her elbow. "So who's paying?" she said, fumbling in her money pouch. "I still have a few septims, I think."

Kevin chuckled at the lasagne remark, and then realized he only had coins from Europe and no septims. "Maybe...if I started making lasagne in Skyrim and sold it, I'd become rich?" He looked at Umbra "Sorry, I have no gold..."

"For the love of divines..." Serana mumbled with a sigh. "I will be paying..." she took out her money pouch, looking at everyone. "How many rooms we are going to get then?"

Umbra grinned. "Perhaps you could," she replied, and at Serana's comment she turned to her and said, "I think the Bannered Mare only has three rooms..." I'd forgotten that until just now. Damn.

"So, two of our group should be sharing a room or what?" Serana asked, looking at Umbra, then at others.

"Unless one of us sweet-talks someone into letting us stay in their home, or sleeps in the stables, I guess so."

"Or one of could not just sleep at all and just drink and eat all night or something?" Kevin laughed "I think I'm just gonna wander around all night, might steal some coin...don't tell anyone."

[ANYWAY, SORRY! MI DISPIACE! I haven't been on because my computer broke and then I had to restore it and I had to fix my phone omg chaos, chaos. But I'm back Ahahahah]

Serana looked at Kevin, then back at Umbra. "Aand I'm vampire, I don't sleep that much..." She said, crossing her arms.

[E 'abbastanza bene, Kevin. ]

Umbra shrugged. "Do what you will. I'm going to bed for a while." She went on in to the Bannered Mare.

and then started to walk off in the opposite direction- then up into the Wind District, the main residential area.
