When Aretis made contact that one time, he immediately changed direction, swerving to the direction he hit and swung more concentrated.

Amber: *remaned swimming*
Serine: *sees a few dragons swimming* Who are they?

The creature pulled back, literally a split second away from getting struck. It made a panicked noise and dove down, discontinuing the dark spray of shadow.

Aretis popped out coughing up the black stuff. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and then dived down in pusuit of the reature.

"You do know, this is how your parents fed you right? I mean, what else did you eat if not this and fish?" Skyer stood over the deer.

"I think we have a guest." Lucien looked up.

As it dove down toward the earth, the creature split into two heads again. One watched where they were flying, the other glared up at Aretis.

"Silly dragon..." the head hissed, shooting balls of black energy up at him.

Casia shivered. "Er, I ate cooked meat and stuff, we always had great feasts, tables as long as a river piled up with food. I just didn't fully realize that animals were killed for us...until now..." she said, gazing sadly at the deer.

Ria also looked up to see Serine.

Aretis dodged the energy but then was hit by one and was catapulted back into the air. He backflipped and growled, countering with more light blasts, trying to push the creature back towards the earth.

"Oh my..." one head said as it tried to block the light shots with balls of dark energy. This caused small explosions in the sky. Two of the beams struck the creature in both heads.

"Krasenchets!" the heads screamed, falling to the ground.

Aretis shot downward, landing a little bit after they did. He quickly triggered his earth powers and tried to lock them in the ground.

Serine: Oh um hi i didnt think you'd notice me!

Amber looked up as well
"Hi!"

The creature snarled as it jumped to its feet and split into two slender dragonic forms, shadows rippling off of its dark scales, warping the world around it.

They began to teleport, snarling as they did so, vanishing and reappearing only feet away from their original standing point. (kind of like Nightcrawler from X-men)

"Hi there, no need to be shy." Ria said with a little wave.

(Nice) Aretis was mildly surprised, but two could play at this game! He automatically could change his matter into light and zip around, reforming and attacking where they would appear and then deform again.

The dragons could feel the breeze of Aretis's attacks as they appeared and disappeared. Each swipe got closer and closer. The one dragon was somewhat smarter than the other and took refuge, hidden in the leaves of a nearby tree.

The other however, didn't think of that. She continued to teleport, unable to keep up with Aretis's attacks. She was finally struck, then hit the dirt with a weak groan.

Aretis then backed away and made a barrier of earth around him. The barrier started shooting rocks like a gun, but it was actually Aretis who was punching them at high velocities at the fallen dragon.

The dragon gasped, pulling up a weak dark shield, barely holding up against the rocks.

He fired faster and faster, his full concentration of taking down that one. The rocks became earth missiles.

The dragon screamed out and became pure shadow, sinking into the ground with the last bit of her strength.

The second watched from her hiding place, waiting for the perfect moment to rejoin her twin.

Aretis growled and with a combined force of light and earth tried to expel the dragon from the ground.

Serine: Hi *she smiled*

The dragon moved quickly through the ground, barely avoiding Aretis's power. Little flame-like shadows licked up from the ground where it "swam".

"Would you care for a swim? The water is delightful today." Ria said with an inviting smile.

"So you've never had to take care of yourself? Hmm," he sighed, "Well we all live and learn, right?" Skyer said walking over to her, "If you'd rather wait back there with Ria and Lucien?"

"Kind of hard to miss." Lucien commented, "I know most wont ask, but: most of the new people i've met turn out to be girls." He grinned, "But it wasn't all bad." he nudged Ria.

"N-no, I'll be fine, I want to hang out with you." Casia said, a bit of shyness creeping into her voice.

Ria laughed a bit and blushed red, and it stood out quite a bit amongst her yellow-gold scales.

Aretis's trained eyes followed the movement and then he thrust another light-earth expulsion blast where it was about to be in a second.

The dragon let out another scream as it was struck again, and it crawled weakly back up to the surface, panting and battered.

Aretis growled, ready to finish it off. It charged up a finishing light blast and fired. "Hyaah!"

The dragon folded its wings around itself in fear, being struck by the blast. Smoke filled the air from the blast, as did silence.

Aretis breathed a sigh of relief.

A tiny cry could be heard. The smoke cleared and revealed a very battered, little white hatchling, the last bit of shadows disappearing from its body.

The shadowy creature had been a corrupted light dragon.

The baby dragon looked up at Aretis with teary blue eyes, shivering in fear. There was a large gash in its thigh from when they had been fighting in the air.

Aretis's eyes widened. He slowly padded over to it, lest it be some sort of trick for him to drop his guard.

The hatchling squeaked and skittered backwards, the tears flowing freely down her cheeks.

The other dragonic creature that had been hiding in the tree dropped down, glaring at Aretis. "The hatchling is mine!" she hissed.

Aretis jumped back. "No way!" He roared and rushed forward, swiping at the creature and trying to weave himself between the baby and the creature.

The dragon stumbled back to avoid Aretis. "The child needs me to heal her, you've clearly done enough!" she snarled, making an implication about the babys wound.

The hatchling cried, bawling aloud.

"Yeah, so you can turn it to the dark side again. I'm not letting that happen." He roared blasting light.

"It's where she belongs!" the dragon hissed. "We can protect her better than you light dragons could!" The dragon ducked, spraying a mist of shadow at Aretis's ankles.

Aretis was forced to jump away retreating. He growled. "I won't let you have her!" He growled back causing the earth to erupt under the dragon's feet.

The dragon stumbled a bit from the shaking. "She is none of your concern!" She snarled and took to the air in an attempt to swoop down and grab the hatchling.

Aretis ran and jumped between them, lashing at the dark dragon.

The dragon hit the ground from Aretis's attack. The shadows that burned off of her wavered a bit, showing a flash of white scales before covering over again with black magic.

She tilted her head back and let out a long, high pitched screech. Silence filled the air for a bit, but then about a dozen screeches answered in the far off distance. The dragon weakly turned her head to smirk at Aretis.

"You won't be able to escape now. And the child will be returned to us." she hissed weakly.

The hatchling screamed out a fresh batch of tears and sobs, terrified. She knew exactly what the screeches meant.

"Not if I can help it." He growled and then shot a blast of light at the dragon while hovering over the baby now.

Lucien lifted his head with a horrified look, turning his head quickly in the direction Aretis had left again in.

Skyer let a light smile slide, "Alright." he went on making a spot for cooking. Remocing the hooves, eyes, and hair, Skyer started a fire and began preparing the meal.

Casia made sure to cover her eyes while Skyer worked, shivering a bit as she munched on some leaves from a tree.

Ria noticed Luciens action. "What is it, what's happening?" she said quickly.

The dragon weakly rolled out of the way, its wings getting hit in the process. The shadows faded from her wings to reveal white stalks and light blue membrane.

Aretis growled. He had to get away. Now! Aretis hated retreating, but there seemed no option right now. He shot a final light blast hoping it'd be the end of that dragon and then held the baby softly, converting both of their matter into light energy and zipping away.

After Aretis blasted light at the dragon, the shadows faded from her body completely, revealing yet another light dragon only this one in her early teens. It seemed that both had been taken over by darkness. Perhaps that's what they had meant by adding Aretis to their collection?

The hatchling clung to Aretis, still quite afraid.

OOC: yeah, i'm trying to incorporate a plot twist since fireball was the villian and now he is just..gone :/
