Sybil tried several times before, but it was no use. If she did managed to sleep, she had nightmares.
"I can't Jet. I simply can't." She said sincerely, though she didn't want to admit that Shadow's threat was making her that uneasy. Too many times she has been through the temptation of having him killed and end his threat forever, but that is something that he would do without hesitation, and she wasn't like him. She could only hope that banishment was enough, and that his return was simply a bluff in order to taunt her...

Royal joins Mambo in the tree, accepting his invitation in. Recently he had gotten very close to the keas and the warblers. Besides it was rather dark, so he supposes that it would be best for him and Dalila head back in the morning.

Sybil was already up, being unable to sleep a wink. Just one hour left and all that nightmarish traveling would be over. Finally Shadow would be returned where he belonged... but once again, his appearant return was worrying Sybil, and she couldn't even make him slip a hint.
"Remember... you return, and it's the death penalty for you!" Sybil said with a glare, hoping to intimidate him and demonstrate that she wasn't willing to go soft on him again...

Dalila had a very pleasant night, talking with Mambo and seeing the kea's traditions. And having a bodyguard like Royal was surely a pleasure. Mambo even invited her to sleep in his own nest, since he had a meeting to attend to, in which Royal was also invited. News traveled fast around the Haven, and now practically everybody knew that Sybil was out, traveling to Indonesia with Shadow in tow. This created big concerns among the keas and the few warblers that also attended the meeting. She had Jet's protection, but that didn't stop them from being worried. They just hoped Sybil left him in the island and leave immediately instead of going the extra mile and escort him inland, away from Jet's protection.

"You will never take us off guard." Sybil said angrily, willing to not let Shadow intimidate her. She did hope his return was a bluff, but if not, she almost didn't care. She could wait for days, months, even years, and her decision of having him killed if he ever showed up again was still going to stand. She then approached Shadow, untying him. If she was nervous, she was hiding it very well. It took about fifteen minutes untying those very good knots Whirlpool did, but Shadow... was finally free, and just a few inches from Sybil.
"Now go!" she ordered, staying put, trying very hard not to show weakness or fear by retreating further away from him.

Warren accepted Rose's offer, but he was clumsy landing, and even more walking. He landed besides the young tiger, not saying anything and keeping his distance, looking at his trembling claws.

Sybil for a moment agree, but then, she had a better idea. She approached to where Jet could hear better, and whispered.
"No Jet, there is another way; I'm not so confident it may work, but we have to try..." she said, taking a deep brea before continuing.
"The orca brothers are here. They can help you guard the waters..." Sybil said, taking another deep breath.
"I can't stay like this... I... I need to investigate what's he's up to." Sybil concluded determinedly, actually suggesting to go to the island and spy on the humongous lizard.

Warren remained silent, putting one claw in front of the other and repeating, using his wings for balance. It was almost as if he was terrified of tripping and fearing ridicule...

Sybil thought she was crazy, but that wasn't crazy only, it was stupid as well. She has always based her life on luck and chance, but for that mission, she may not have either.
"I don't see any other options Jet. I want to believe Shadow's threat was a mere bluff... but after all I have seen, I do believe he is capable of returning... and even worse... with an army on his own." Sybil explained, knowing that once she entered Komodo island, she was on her own, and Shadow was certainly not going to be the only threat. But as stupid and suicidal as it was, she was willing to put her life on the line for the safety of the Haven...

"I... I can't walk... very well..." Warren finally confessed, breaking his silence. Vultures were not very good walkers, they practically had to jump with the help of their wings in order to do that, and he didn't want to trip. He was too traumatized with all the ridicule and scolds he has received from Sholeh for his clumsiness, and he didn't want to risk having to go through the same with Rose, even though she was evidently much more kinder.

"Well, I can mask my scent, and I can run very fast." Sybil assured, though not sounding very confident. Shadow was deviously cunning and was probably expecting her.
"If only I had wings..." she complained, but then that gave her an idea.
"Wait... Jet that's it! I don't need to go! We can search for a bird nearby and convince him or her to spy on him!" she said rather exitedly, though she was starting to regret not bringing one of her own winged friends for the task. But it was o big deal now. Now the priority was to look around for somebody that could fly and was willing to help them...

Warren could fly well, it was his landings that were the problem. But if he flew, he couldn't enjoy Rose's company. He then embarrassingly demonstrated her how vultures "walked"...

"Well... they just need to spy on him for a while... unless..." Sybil then remembered that Komodo dragons hide in burrows, so that could be a problem.
"Well, maybe just inform us of his movement. That way, I can probably deduce a pattern that will help me at least think what his plan is." she then said, doubting that whatever plan Shadow had, he wasn't going to announce it so openly. She didn't want to go to that island at all, but she wasn't going to have any peace of mind if she didn't knew what Shadow was up to. And to make matters worse, not a single bird was on sight. She could only manage to catch a glimpse of a few at the island, too far away from the shore...

Warren felt embarrassed, as was expected.
"I know.! It's ridiculous! Pardon... but... I think I will skip the stroll..." he said, flying away. After too much insult from Sholeh, he has become exaggeratedly easy to offend, and Rose's little commentary did a heavy number on him.

In other circumstances, Sybil would notice that this strange, new bird was addressing to Jet, and that it would be rude to interrupt a getting. However, that was no normal circumstance.
"Oh, thank goodness, a bird. Please forgive me, but... we are in sort of an emergency here. It's about this... Komodo dragon..." Sybil said, trying to sound as calm as possible, but the words came blunt. She only hoped the new visitor would answer her prayers.

Warren heard Rose, so instead of returning to his tree, he landed on a nearby palm, plucking it's seeds to control his nervousness. He was feeling rather ashamed to be offended so easily, especially since he truly believed Rose didn't mean it.

A big one he said? Sybil wondered...
"Listen sir... I, I mean, we..." and Sybil signaled both Jet and herself.
"... just brought a rather large Komodo dragon here just right now, where he belongs. He was threatening my home you see... but I fear that he might be plotting on returning there and cause much harm. I need someone that can spy on him for a while and know what his plans are." Sybil explained very patiently, hoping that the native stranger understood.

Warren landed besides Rose, miraculously, not crash-landing this time.
"I'm sorry. I suppose I over-reacted. But let's face it little Mademoiselle... I don't think I can keep up with this... I'm a vulture..." Warren commented with a gloom, signaling his body and hoping Rose could figure out the rest. He was too use to his species dastard reputation, and his clumsiness didn't help his self esteem either. He was afraid he would mess up this newly found friendship, especially since he still retained a bit of loyalty to Sholeh.

Sybil was in shock not only on how easy it was for this bird to be cooperative, but how notorious Shadow's name was even at his own home.
"Yes! That's exactly his name! He's made such a mess home, and he came so close in killing many of us!" Sybil expressed, a bit terrified.
"And just now, he told us that he has plans of returning. So you see, I REALLY need to know what he's up to." Sybil explained with a desperate tone, feeling that the more she explained, the more time they wasted.

"Oh, thank you so much! Really!" Sybil said, very relieved and grateful.
"Oh yes. I'm Sybil." she introduced herself after seeing both Nero and Jet do it.

"Hey others will learn to trust you in time. You have a big heart and personality. I wish some were more like you." Rose said.

This commentary made Warren blush a bit, and he started to believe that he didn't deserve such kindness.
"Well... I suppose a chance is all it takes. This parrots... keas they're called? I heard they had a very gruesome reputation and Madame Sybil gave them a chance to live here and have a second chance." he commented, believing that the same second chance could be given to his species.
"She has such a gift seeing the good in everyone. But why Monsieur Shadow remained the same? Why couldn't he simply be good?" Warren complained, but yet again, he remembered Sybil's dangerous mission and started to regret bringing the subject once more.

Sybil opened her eyes. It looked like she was more well known than she thought.
"Why... yes indeed. I founded it a long time ago for very endangered animals." Sybil happily explained, hoping that this fame would further motivate the feathered friend to help her.

"Yes... well..." Warren said a bit doubtful, remembering all the harm he had caused helping Sholeh and Shadow back then.

"Oh thank you." Sybil said, bowing down. She was so relieved that she didn't need to enter that death trap of an island herself.

Warren paralyzed after that hug. Nobody ever showed that kind of kindness to him. And Rose did it without fear or disgust, something that he couldn't comprehend.

"Wait a minute. Does this bird even knows where the Haven is? How will he report Shadow's plans?" the eldest brother said, making a point.
"He's right. Jet, I know you want to leave Komodo right now, but we need to wait until Nero returns." Sybil explained, imagining how many bad memories the island must bring to Jet.

"Never mind. Let's just walk. Ooh, check it out, the sun is rising!" Warren said ecstatic, "walking" towards the beach to appreciate the sight better. He didn't even care if Tose laughed again at his goofy little walk.

Jet didn't need to tell Sybil twice. Even if she had to stay on his back for a while, she wasn't planing to go to that dreadful island. And right now, she was glad she did. She now took notice of the Komodo dragon at the beach, whom she at first thought to be Shadow returning, but this one was a bit smaller, yet still much bigger than her.
"Look there. It's a good thing I didn't go on shore." Sybil whispered to Jet, trying to ignore the unpleasant guest.

After several minutes, Warren spoke to Rose again.
"Why do you keep trying? After everything I've done?" he commented sadly, reminding Rose how he almost got her and Sybil killed.

Sybil was confused at first, then furious. She forced herself a smile, trying to appear friendly to Zera. She then tapped Jet on the head.
"Jet? What are you doing!?" she whispered between teeth, wanting to know why he was talking to a Komodo dragon. Her too many awful experiences with Shadow made her very distrustful towards the whole species.

"A friendly Komodo dragon?" Sybil said skeptically, really doubting that. Meeting Shadow damaged her view on the whole kind, yet she trusted Jet, so that was quite the predicament. She then wondered if Zena was willing to help her with her Shadow problem, if she indeed was worth trusting like Jet said.

"Then how did you end up with Shadow?" Sybil asked, sounding disappointed.
"Never mind. You can tell me later. Listen Zera, I just return Shadow here, but he threatened to return to my home once more. Jet trusts you, so I should too." Sybil addressed to Zera, demonstrating how truly desperate she was.
"I just sent a bird to spy on him, but I'm afraid he may not be much help. Indeed to know what Shadow is planing. Me means harm to me and all of my family." Sybil expressed, referring to Rose and the others as family fort the first time. But she wondered if a Komodo dragon was capable of betraying it's own kind.

"Yeah...oh yes... thank you..." Sybil said with difficulty, hoping that the one who doesn't end up betrayed is her.

Once Zera was out of sight, Sybil collapsed of exhaustion. There was only a bit of the sun rising, but her absence of sleep made her being at the verge of fainting.
"Oh Jet, I'm so sorry for all of this, but I don't want to take any risk with Shadow. I'm sorry for being a burden." Sybil apologized, almost asleep, but with Jet carrying her, he won't be able to submerge into the water, and knowing how badly he wanted to return to the Haven, she felt worse.
"Hey boss, if you need to go for a swim, we can take turns carrying miss Sybil." the eldest brother offered, already acknowledging Jet as the leader.

"Alright then. Hand her over." The eldest brother said, but he pushed his little sibling in front.
"Why me?" he complained.
"Ok then, I will carry her and you do the hunting." The older brother said, which prompted his sibling to grab Sybil fast. He wasn't the best hunter after all.
"Well now boss. Any prey of interest around here?" the older brother asked, seeing the island and doubting it was the kind to have seals on it.

"Aw boring. After a trip like this, I was expecting something larger." the orca complained, though in fear of sounding rude to his new boss,he changed his tone of voice.
"Anyway, better get busy and get a lot of them for the three of us." he said, offering to hunt for Jet as well.

Back at the Haven, Warren sayed to watch the sun rise completely. It was quite a beautiful sight, but if only the mood was the same. After witnessing the spectacle, he needed to get something off his chest.
"Hey... um... Mademoiselle Rose? When is my Sholeh going to end her prison sentence?" he asked, trying to sound as indifferent as possible. He imagined Rose must still had a bit of grudge against her after everything she's done.

While the two orcas went hunting, the youngest of the three of them stayed behind, guarding Sybil, and bored to death.
"Heh, incredible all the things we need to go through for a tiny little civet. I hope you appreciate what we're doing for you Sybil." the young, bored orca commented, even though he knew Sybil was too asleep to even listen to him. And indeed, Sybil was fast asleep. The nightmares were over, but her sleep was still restless. She twitched her body once in a while due to the recent stress she was going through at the moment.

Warren was feeling a bit down with the response, but if Sholeh did unforgivable things, then how come he wasn't imprisoned as well? He was her accomplice after all.
"Well... why... didn't you tie me up along with her?" he asked cautiously, not wanting to giver her ideas, but if he also had to pay the price, he would be glad to be tied up along with Sholeh in hopes that at least the mongoose could see that he still appreciated her.

"Thank you boss, but if you don't mind, I prefer to catch my own food." the orca said respectfully, managing to catch a salmon of his own, but much more smaller than Jet's.

Warren felt a bit ashamed. He knew from the beginning once Sholeh started to show her true colors that she was just using him, but his feelings were too strong. It was as if he saw something in her that probably didn't exist.

Half an hour has passed, and at Komodo island, Sybil was still sleeping deeply on the young brother orca's back. The morning sun was already up and it was starting to scorch him.
"Ugh, not only am I bored, but I'm burning up too." he complained, starting to regret carrying Sybil. She was too tired to feel the heat, so she continued resting.

"Oh, yes, thank you boss." the young orca said, almost throwing Sybil off and enjoying his meal underwater. The salty water stung a bit, but he didn't care. His brother returned shortly thereafter, but since his sibling already had food, he took the remaining fish to himself.
Sybil starting to wake up, but not because of the throw. The rays of the sun were finally getting into her eyes, and she was slowly opening them. She then moaned, feeling dizzy.
"Ugh, I've slept, but I don't feel refreshed... Jet? You're back already? Any news?" Sybil said quickly, her eyes feeling stinging a bit for the little sleep she had.

Sybil was quite surprised the both of them showed up almost at the same time.
"Guys guys, calm down! Please!" Sybil begged, not wanting them to attract unnecessary attention.
"Now then, what is it?" Sybil asked calmly, trying to get through them in all their fatigue.
