The ladies followed Shard. Abby walked along beside him. "So what's your place like? Does it have nice beds? 'Cause I'd like to sleep in a bed for a change."

"I second that." Roxanne piped up.

"I really don't care." Nadia muttered, throwing her two cents worth in.

"Well, in all honestly I only have two beds, but I have a few couches that are pretty comfortable. " Shard told them. He was going at a slower pace and slowly but gradually they came up beside him.

"I call a bed then. I need my beauty sleep." Roxanne said.

Nadia sighed and rolled her eyes at that. "I still don't really care. A couch would be fine. Beats sleeping outside in the dirt."

"Roxy, I want to sleep in a bed, too."

"Well, Abby, I need it more."

"Since when? I work more than you do, since neither one of you really help out with household chores."

"Hey, I hunt and bring back food. I do my job." Nadia pointed out.

"And I obviously have better than things to do than chores."

"I still deserve the bed more. Unless it's big enough for us to share."

"Hmph. I'll sleep on another couch. You two have the beds." Shard said and winced a little more as they reached the edge of the border of the were camp. He frowned. "Well, once I rest up a little, I'll work on building better accommodations."

"Shard, you shouldn't have to give up your own bed. You're already being nice enough to give us a place to stay. Besides, you should rest in a bed while you're wounded. And if you like, maybe I could assist you with building. I may not be that handy with tools, but I have had some experience, and I have read books on how." Abby said.

"Eh, if he wants to give up his bed, then just smile and take it." Roxanne said. She then smirked. "Just don't go asking Nadia to help you build anything, Shard. She's a destroyer, not a builder." She snickered.

Nadia glared and snarled at her. "Red, either knock it off, or I'll start using you as a practice dummy."

"Go ahead and try it, tiger. You could never keep up with me."

Abby sighed. "Not this again. Shard, are you sure you want us moving in? This is your last chance to escape."

"Don't got anywhere to run to, now do I?" Shard smiled. "Well, as long as I can still work, I'll be fine. As an incentive, Nadia, don't destroy my workshop and I'll getcha lots of weapons." Shard's tail swished a little as he made a right turn towards a mountain that was still quite far off.

Nadia growled and was about to reply to Roxanne, when she heard Shard. She turned to face him and grinned. "Weapons?"

"I think you have a deal." Roxanne smiled.

Abby giggled a bit. "I'll still try to keep these two from bothering you too much, Shard. Which means...." She turned to face Roxanne and Nadia. "No fighting." She told them, shaking her finger with a stern look.

Roxanne huffed and folded her arms. "Spoil sport."

"Well yeah. I'm not a weaponsmith for nothing." Shard shrugged as the night grew on. He stumbled on a root a little hand had to catch himself, moving a little faster than he had to and pain lanced through his legs. He winced but that's the only sign he showed of it. "Hmm. I'm guessing this is gonna take a two day trip to get there. But I don't remember any good campsites between here and my home." Shard's ears twitched as he tried to look around.

"Campsites, huh? Leave that to us." Abby smiled. She then turned to her friend. "Roxy, any good spots in the area?" She asked the scout.

"Hmm, let me think...." Roxanne trailed off, closing her eyes as she pictured a map of the forest in her head. "Ah!" She opened her eyes with a grin. "I know of a small cave hidden by plantlife. It isn't far from here." She said.

Nadia gave a slight nod. "Sounds fine to me. Let's go."

Shard nodded. "Sounds good." And followed them, but he had to go a slower pace which was a little problematic.

Ratable and Argam ran after them, both in human form. Rayan gracefully leaping over roots, while Argam tripped, and hit his head on branches. Ratable spotted the group, and shouted, "Wait up!"

The three women paused and turned around. "What are you two doing out here?" Roxanne asked.

"And why are you following us?" Nadia huffed, folding her arms.

"I can't live under a leader who would banish a woman for saving the camp. Argam just doesn't know what else to do I think. And anyways, I decided to try to catch up with you three." Rayan answered.

Shard sighed, now sitting inside the small cave. "Well, if you're thinking of living with me, think again. My house is supposed to hold one person only. Me. Occasionally I'll get a guest so I keep a guest bed. So that's a maximum of two. Couches are temporary. Once I recover, I'm going to get to work building another room, which will take a few weeks. I don't have time for uninvited guests. And I don't intend my home become a sanctuary for rabbits." He grumbled, defiantly taking his stand. I may have made a terrible mistake. Gosh, I invite three stinkin' females, and I'm a lone wolf. The heck was I thinking?

"Well, whatever. Guess we go our separate ways or something then. Have a nice life or something." Nadia huffed, her tone pretty much suggesting that she didn't care. She then went to sit down inside the cave as well.

Abby watched Nadia go sit down, and then turned her attention back to Rayan. "Well, do you know what you'll be doing now? I mean, where to go, where to stay? You need a place to live, or at least a place to rest on your travels. Do you know the area really well? Do you know of good camping spots? Roxy is a really good scout, and knows the area really well. She could help you out, if you need guidance."

"Yeah, just don't ask Nadia, though, she'll get you outright lost." Roxanne chuckled. Nadia shot her a glare from where she was sitting. "But I suppose I could show you a good place to rest. No shame in asking. I know these two," She gestured to Nadia and Abby, "would just be completely lost without my expertise. But I guess if all they did was wait here for a moment, then I could help you real quick." She said with an arrogant tone. Nadia just growled, and Abby sighed.

"I was planning to go to my fathers old camp. I only know the general area of it. I was just hoping to camp near your house Shard." Rayan stated calmly. There was no way another were could ruin her ability to leave. Even if he still refused.

Shard sighed "Alright, as long as you don't make too much noise." He grumbled closing his eyes. Suddenly his ears pricked and twitched. Shard's eyes shot open and he tried to leap up, but did so too suddenly and grimaced as the pain in his legs forced him to sit back down again. He bit his lip at stings. "Did you guys hear that? D@amnit, looks like we took too long." He groaned, trying to reach for a weapon.

Roxanne's ears pricked up, and she sniffed the air. She growled, quickly grabbing her bow and nocking an arrow. "Vamps." She snarled.

Nadia's eyes widened and she jumped up, unsheathing her sword as she ran, coming up beside Roxanne. She growled, surveying the arrow, and looking to see where the vixen was aiming her bow. "Where?" She growled quietly.

The vixen took a moment to sniff the air once more, and listened to her surroundings. She then aimed her bow at the branches of a tree and fired. With a groan, the vampire archer that was hiding there fell out of the tree, an instant kill. Then suddenly, out of the bushes, out sprang his comrades, several vampires armed with melee weapons.

"Does that answer your question?" Roxanne replied, nocking another arrow and quickly firing at another vampire.

Nadia roared and rushed into battle, preparing her sword to strike. A metal clang was heard as her sword clashed with a vampire's.

Abby quietly stood in the back, seemingly frozen in place, yet as calm as ever. She had no intention of actually joining the fight, preferring not to get involved. However, a vampire came up behind her with a dagger. Sensing him, she whirled around, quickly striking a pressure point to make him drop his weapon. Before he could recover, she struck again, rendering him unconscious. She then bent over and picked up the dagger.

Argam turned into his animal form, and rushed forward, teeth and claws tearing apart the enemies.

Rayan shot six arrows into six different vamps, and then pulled out her daggers, slitting throats, and pushing her arrows farther into soft bodies.

Shard was helpless to do much. He scooted further into the cave after he took out his bow and fumbled with a few arrows. He got one notched and aimed, but he gritted his teeth as too many people were close quarter's fighting for him to get a clear shot in.

Rayan looked around, and noticed Shard. She rolled toward him, got up, and got her bow back out.

Nadia was charging through the group of vampires, breaking weapons with her sword, slicing through the enemy like butter. Since her sword was high quality, any attempts to block her attacks were futile, as the enemy weapons shattered upon contact. The vampires couldn't even attack her, because she could just block them with her sword, and theirs would break.

Roxanne kept her distance from the vampires, backing up Nadia with her archery. She quickly nocked arrows to her bowstring, aiming and firing at any vamp that attempted to attack Nadia from behind.

Meanwhile, Abby was behind Roxanne, with her back to her. Although she was normally not one to fight, she was quick to defend her friend, and keep the vampires from attacking her. This allowed Roxanne to focus on her archery and covering for Nadia, without having to watch her own back. However, Abby wasn't using the dagger she had obtained, and wasn't killing the vampires herself. Instead, she simply either kept them at bay, rendered them unconscious, or knocked them back towards Nadia.

Argam turned onto human form, got out his daggers, and stayed near Nadia. Even though he knew she was perfectly adequate, he killed anyone behind her. "Teamwork, teamwork, everybody do your share."

Rayan shot arrows at any vamp that got within a distance of her and Shard, and she sang back to Arham, "Ev'rybody ev'rywhere."
