It was for that reason that it took me so long to actually understand what was going on in that pic

Classic Spyro glided in non-flying levels, and New Spyro glided too. They both fly completely in flying levels in each of their universes.

There are a couple of levels in the Classic series where you can fly properly, examples?

- Gnasty's Loot in Spyro the Dragon
- Metropolis in Spyro 2
- Ripto's Arena in Spyro 2
- Crystal Islands in Spyro 3
- Super Bonus World in Spyro 3.

It's some type of flying I guess, and also not to mention the flight/speedway levels.

And free flight in DotD.

It still sucks to me. It's not 'free' at all.

If you can do at at anytime, it's free. I find it strange how everyone complains that the flying is too limited, yet if they didn't limit it, there would be no platforming.

I don't hate the flight system completely, I just think it could be done better.

Overall, I prefer gliding, it's more fun to me.

Ehh, I prefer flying. Gliding brought you back down too quickly, and simply wasn't free. Even though the free-flight in DotD could use some improvements, I prefer it. At least they tried.

I still like DotD, despite it's flaws. Meh.

I believe it's called "Muniton's Forge". I haven't been there yet though.

Oh yeah, Munitions Forge. I liked that place And if you find it getting repetitive, it gets a lot more interesting in "Concurrent Skies", IMO. It's Cynder's place. I love that place. So you liking it as much as TEN?

Well, ANB has the strafe ability, but TEN has the Dragon Time and more platforming and puzzles. Still, the one thing I'm looking forward to is kicking Cynder's ass.....or tappin' it! Giggity!

I'm pretty sure Classic Spyro can fly, though because he flew to get to different levels and worlds. :-/ And on ETD, -when it's loading- you can see Spyro flying high up in the clouds. So Classic Spyro can fly, but they just only made him glide in the main levels because it would be to easy. And ruin the platforming, like Kimbia28 said...

You have to go through power ups to actually get to fly as Spyro though. And in those scenes where you're going from world to world, notice he's only gliding. He never flaps his wings.

I've always assumed that it's the magic of the portal that helps Spyro to glide to the level.
