LOL! .

oh, gosh. O.o
and, i know there hasn't been a chapter for a while. i was planning to make this longer, but oh well. this story is going down the forum list, and i cannot let that happen! and, we're all talking about evil dogs.
and, just so you know, i've been reading maximum ride books over and over, so in this chapter i'm a little more sarcastic

I stood up, looking around. I could tell where I was. The Burned Lands. But I had no idea how I got there.
“This is just a dream then.” I muttered to myself. “But, while I’m here, I might as well explore.” I walked around, stepping in ashes every ten seconds. “I would hate to live here.”
Just then, lava shot into the air right in front of me, and I backed away, almost falling on my back. I’d forgotten about those. I decided to start flying, deciding it would be less dangerous, even though I was in a dream.
I flew for a little while, looking at all the lava streams, the significant places. I just felt like it would be safer if I did, for some reason.
Even though it was all a dream. I’m so paranoid.
But flying through the area, even though it was just a landscape of black and red, felt better than anything. There were so many updrafts, I could write about ten giant books listing all of them. I would even sometimes bring my wings close to my body, and start falling, and at the last second I would let them out,(yes, I decided to try it because I’d read it in Maximum Ride books.)staying near the lava stream, and flying about a foot above it. It seemed to glow, and if I looked at it closely, I could see ashes in it.
And that’s how to have a great time in one of the hardest, longest, most annoying, and most frustrating levels in a video game.

I was finally pulled out of my happy and care-free state when I saw something green. I mean, really. Something green. In the middle of heck. Really isn’t that hard to notice.
I slowly started to loose altitude until finally I landed. Which reminded me how incredibly desolate place this really was. Once I got closer, I realized that the green thing was a dragon. There was red on it, and I knew it couldn’t have been lava, or he would be burning. There was only one other thing it could be.
Blood.
I ran over to the dragon, a sinking feeling in my stomach. I was pretty sure I knew which dragon this was. And when I finally got to him, my fears were confirmed.
It was Kelp.
“Kelp?” I asked, searching for signs of life. I mean, I’m not a doctor or anything, but I’m smart enough to figure out if a person is breathing. Or has a pulse.
I put my head to his chest, but I couldn’t hear anything. That was when I started to panic. I changed to human. I only had my socks on, I don’t really have my shoes on while in a sleeping bag, and the hot ground was burning my feet, but I barely felt it. I went on my knees, ignoring the burst of pain in them, and held Kelp’s wrist in my hand. I could feel a faint pulse. I hoped that the reason I could barely feel it was due to the scales. I watched his chest for a second, and saw that it was moving up and down, the pattern of breathing. I was relieved. One, he wasn’t dead. Two, I wouldn’t have to do CPR. I laughed a little, it might’ve been from the fear I just had, or it might’ve been the thought of doing CPR on a dragon. I honestly don’t know. But after a minute of sitting there, burning myself because I was still in human form, I saw Kelp’s eyes open. He looked around, scared, but then calmed down.
“Kelp.” I said, and he jumped. He lifted his head, saw me, and his eyes had fear in them.
“What are you doing here? ” He asked.
“I have no idea. I just found you laying here.” I answered.
“You have to go. Its not safe to be here, especially with me. If Fyre or Shadow saw you, you’d be dead in an instant.”
“I think you mean turned dark, and I’m not leaving. This is just a dream. I can’t get hurt.”
“A dream...” Kelp echoed, thinking.
“Hello? Earth-to-kelp? I’m still here.”
“Wha- oh. But, this isn’t a dream. I mean, yes, it is, but it isn’t at the same time. Sometimes when you sleep, you go somewhere that’s important to you. I’m guessing you were freaked out from tonight, and now you’re here.”
“Great. Its real comforting to know that I’m actually in the Burned Lands, and that I can actually get killed here.”
“And you didn’t figure that out from the pain of standing on the ground because...” Kelp asked.
“Wow. I’m an idiot. An idiot that saw a dying dragon lying in some ashes and decided to help them.” I said sarcastically.
“Okay, truce.” He said.
“Now, come on. We need to find somewhere where Fyre and Shadow won’t find you.”
“I know where an old abandoned cave is. Follow me.” He said, and tried to get up, but fell down.
“I’m guessing the cave has to wait. Why don’t we go over there?” I said, pointing at a hole in the ground, except it had slanted ground leading to it. And it was about as big as a cave. Okay, if you’ve read Warriors books, just think of ThunderClan’s camp at the lake. Except, you know, a little smaller. And still keep the slanted ground leading into it in mind.
“How am I going to get there?” He asked.
“Lean on me.” I told him, turning into a dragon. He nodded, then stood up, a little unsteady, and we walked over to the...just call it whatever you want. Hole in the ground. ThunderClan camp thing. Whatever.
Turns out there’s a little cave inside it. Like, in one of the inner-walls. It wasn’t gigantic, its not a cave like you can live in. More like, tiny cave that more than one person can just fit into. And, turns out, there was some moss in the cave. Big shocker, considering it was hotter than a desert. And, trust me, I know how hot a desert is.
We were able to make a nest for Kelp, and I had come back with a few red gems, just for the heck of it. Turns out, yes, they do heal you. But its really strange. Put ‘em near a broken bone, injury, etc, and they seem to, well, its hard to describe. They...turn into vapor-like stuff and go into the wound, and it heals up. Its like, insta-hospital or something.
Kelp was able to walk in a few minutes, but I kept him in the...okay, you know what, I’m just going to call it the camp, okay? I kept him in The Camp.
After a while of clearing ashes, digging out the cave to make it bigger, and, y’know, making it all homely,(as homely as you can make something in the burned lands)Kelp decided to stop and tell me something.
“You’ve been here for a while. I think sometime soon you’re going to wake up.”
“Promise me you’re not going to go off and find your special cave. I’ll have no idea where you are, and then freak out thinking that Fyre or Shadow killed you.”
“I promise.” Kelp said, rolling his eyes.
And with that, everything started to fade. But I could hear one last word.
“Bye.”

And then I woke up. The sun was already pretty high, and I felt guilty for sleeping in so long. I mean, I know it wasn’t my fault that I woke up so late, but, I dunno, maybe I could’ve made myself wake up.
Rose and Meghan were sitting by the fire. Meghan was poking at the coals with a stick, and it reminded me of the burned lands. She turned towards me, and saw that I was awake.
“Finally. I never knew you slept in this late.”
“I don’t usually. Wait, why haven’t we started moving yet? And where are the others?” I asked.
“Rose thought you’d be really tired, and decided that we’d stay here one more day.”
“Well, now I feel like a stupid idiot.” I said.
“Its okay. Besides, Rose said that Fyre still has some ground to cover to find us, and, its not like he knows exactly where we are when we’re there. He’ll have to search from the middle of Mexico to Texas. It’s going to take him some time.”
“Where are the others?”
“They went to Burger King.”
“I officially love random wads of money in the sidewalks.” I said. Of corse, I’m not sure if Night knew what I meant, but oh well.
I got out of my sleeping bag and stood up, stretching. My knees, ankles, and whatever-its-called in between those two started to hurt. I realized I’d probably badly burned them, and looked down. But, there was no sign of the burns. But the pain was still there. I tried to make it look like I wasn’t in pain, and walked over next to the fire, poking the coals with a stick. I know, Night was doing the exact same thing, but I had nothing to do. I noticed that the fire was starting to go out, but it wasn’t too cold out. Just the usual faint morning chill. And, it felt strange to feel cold after just being in the burned lands, but it was definitely an improvement. I mean, really, what would you rather choose? Boiling hot, or faint chill? Besides, the gentle breeze felt good on my burned legs. Well, sort of burned. Half-burned? Oh, whatever.
So, Meghan and I just sat there. For about an hour.Poking fire with sticks.
What fun.

We finally saw the others come back, but when they got closer, you could see they were in a panick.
"They-missing-police-" Kaitlyn said, trying to catch her breath.
"Kaitlyn, slow down!" Her sister said, helping her sister.
"What's happening?" I asked, trying to keep panick out of my voice. i doubt that i did.
"Our parents all filed missing reports." Alondra told me.
"Wait, what?!" I was confused. Actually, i think i was more in disbelief.
"How do you know that?" Night asked.
"While we were eating, someone apparently noticed we were missing kids from a poster or something. They called 911, and we slipped out the emergency exit when the police arrived." Karen explained, though she was just as breathless as the others.
"Split up." Rose said. "Everyone take a pack. Meet up here tonight. And don't get caught." She looked at us, and we all nodded. We stuffed out things into our backpacks, and I saw Karen turn into a dragon for a second to put out a fire, then run off.
I didn't mean to, but i lingered for a moment. Like, my legs couldn't move.
"you're going to see this place tonight." I told myself, turned, then ran like heck. I thought about how difficult this must've veen for Karen, Shorty, and Alondra. They'd already had to run pretty far. But, then again, we'd all gotten stronger from always moving.
But, i didn't think about it for long. I had to focus on running. Take longer strides, make each step happen faster, take deep breaths.
I was in immense pain in shortly after two minutes. On a scale of 1-10, i'd rate it...a hundred. Now, just to crack my femur bone and i'd go into guines book of world records for withstanding the most pain!
While I was running, a thought came to me. What if one of us was caught? I pushed the thought out of my brain but, naturally, 30 seconds later the police caught me.

Might I suggest that after this story is complete, you should do a "What If" story. Like What If they couldn't stop Desi's corruption and she turned evil. Just a suggestion
