Infinity Inquirer got some information in a interview about the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set and DI 3.0 in general:

• All Marvel Round Power Discs from 2.0 are compatible in the Play Set. By the hints, the Team-Up Discs will act like the Super Smash Bros.' Assist Trophies.
  
• Some characters will play a little different from the rest of the game.
  
• Reconfirming that there will be a Single Player mode with collectibles.
  
• They can't confirm for now what comes alongside the Play Set and Captain America. From the way they said, It looks like it will be something different.
  
• There are discussions about Marvel Power Discs.
  
• II asked about Ant-Man (not directly), and they said that a "big" figure will be coming. There's a reason they can't reveal now.

However I thought I'd drop another rumor regarding information found on writer James Swallow's blog. For those unfamiliar with Swallow, he is a British author and scriptwriter. He's an award winning writer and has had multiple New York Times bestsellers. He has also written multiple tie in stories for series such as Star Trek, Warhammer 40,000, Doctor Who, Star Wars, 24, and Stargate to name a few. Ofcourse I kept them GoTG is my all time favorite Marvel movie. Also this comic cover for Anti bullying featuring Groot and Rocket hit WAY WAY WAY to close to home for me and that's why I love those two (Along with Star Lord) so much.

not sure what's being said but with Captain America basically getting a repose and just being maskless couldn't they just have given him a power disc that gives him an alternate uniform like they did with other characters already?


I haven't messed around with toy box yet but i noticed some people putting in darth vader as a boss in their levels is it pretty much only Darth Vader and Darth Maul that can be used as bosses or can we finally put our own figures as characters in the game instead of those silly mini sidekick toys?

The claim is that he's being treated as a whole NEW character and will have a completely different skill set compared to the original figure. Hence why it wasnt just a costume disc.

If anyone hasnt been checking the Disney Infinity website either, they updated regarding Battlegrounds. Interesting to note something thats not on any of the other playsets.

I believe it's because they didn't want people to spoil the characters with file digging like what happened in 2.0

Also given the Battlegrounds playset isnt set for a release until 2016 I dont see a concern about data-mining any time soon, especially seeing as the PC version hasnt been updated yet. What does he do anyway? All I see him do is at like DI is absolutely perfect.

His officially title is VP of Production, though he's generally the main PR face of the game as well, between his Twitter and ToyBox TV.

I'm not sure how the community would "take advantage of the situation." If people want the image, its easy to find for the most part now with a Google search or two. Most the time, they (the Disney Infinity team) try to suppress image leaks/videos, but don'y really try to hinder discussion if you already have seen them. Most Disney Infinity themed websites are going to take down images on request because as a media outlet they want to stay in good standing to get exclusives, con access, and early information ahead of the curve to keep their site visits high when real press embargoes are lifted.

As the face of the company and the VP, of course he's going to act like his product is perfect. Acting any other way would be counter-productive to the idea of trying to sell the product.

I went to Walmart today and they accidentally put out Hulkbuster and Ultron early, so naturally I thought I'd try to buy them and maybe get away with getting them two days early. Unfortunately they couldn't sell them because the street date was Tuesday, but I expected that and it was still worth a shot.

Yeah, mine did, but it's not bull**** at all. Frozen was a complete hit for Disney, and Big Hero 6 was pretty popular and won itself an Oscar, so I'm not surprised at all. Baymax and Elsa are EXTREMELY popular at the parks, and they both have tons of merch (about equal to Stitch or Cinderella in overall Disney parks stock). Anna is less popular than both of them, but still important to Frozen. There's a pretty high demand for all three of these characters, ESPECIALLY from the younger demographic, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're still churning out more Elsa, Anna, and Baymax figures while 4.0 is out, keeping them at full price. Same goes for Olaf in the next game.
