“We are confident that if you help us, we will come out victorious.” said the bison with his deep voice
There was a loud crash and boob that came from right outside.
“It looks like we don’t have as much time as we thought.” replied Darkmatter
“Get your warrior ready immediately!” Darkmatter barked at the other animals that were there. “You two are with me.”
Rougestone and Sapphire both nodded and followed Darkmatter out of the room and into the plaza. As soon as they were outside, Darkmatter lunged and latched onto an enemy and started to attack it. The enemy that he was grappled onto appeared to be made from the earth itself, along with magma oozing off of its body. It was a little bit taller than Rougestone and had no eyes. Rougestone was about to go and help him when Sapphire spoke.
“Leave him; we’ve got our own problems.” she said as more of them appeared.
He nodded and then dove underground while holding onto Sapphire; bringing her with him. Ice spikes then shot out of the ground, impaling one of the monsters and killing it. The earth then opened up underneath the other one and earth spikes shot out of the fissure and killed the other one. They both, then, emerged from the ground and Rougestone let go of Sapphire.
“I am going to see if Darkmatter is ok.” Rougestone said to Sapphire
“I’ll cover you.” she said to him.
Rougestone ran to where the monster was going with Darkmatter still on it and tackled it. It went crashing to the floor and screeched.
“You alright, Darkmatter?” asked Rougestone as he got to his feet.
“Yeah, these things are going to be a handful.”
“No kidding.”
“We need to assess the situation.” Darkmatter said to Rougestone, “Find Sapphire and meet me on the defensive wall, if there is any of it left.”
Rougestone nodded to him and Darkmatter than leapt from ledge to ledge until he was out of sight. Rougestone turned and headed back to where he left Sapphire, but she wasn’t there.
“Sapphire?!......Sapphire?!”
“Yes?” she echoed
“What are you doing?”
“I found it necessary to go into this form.”
“We need to go see Darkmatter. He will be waiting for us on top of the wall.”
Her vapor form nodded and she transformed back.
“Let’s go!” she said to Rougestone.
They both took off to where Darkmatter had said that they would meet.

They found Darkmatter sitting on one of the parts of the wall that was still standing. The snake was with him.
“We have to do something about this, Lerna.”
“I know. There hasssss to be something that we can do.”
“We have to hold them off.” Rougestone interrupted
“Whatever is left of the wall is not going to take much more of this.” added Sapphire
“Send some of warriors that are left to defend the open parts of the wall and whoever else is left to defend the parts of the wall that are still standing.” commanded Rougestone
Darkmatter nodded in agreement.
“And what shall we do?” asked Lerna
“If any of the commanders want to join us, they may, but Sapphire and I are going to thin out their numbers.”
“I’m in.” said Darkmatter
“I will go see if the other commanders want to join us.” Lerna said as she slithered off of the small ledge and down the walkway into the doorway of a nearby tower.
“I shall wait for their answers, here. You may proceed as you see fit.” Darkmatter said to Rougestone. “You might want to hurry due to the fact that the army is advancing.”
Rougestone nodded and dove off of the wall and took flight. Sapphire followed soon after him.

Rougestone flew over a large group of enemies and slammed into the ground causing an earthquake that opened a fissure in the ground. As enemy after enemy fell through the crack, Rougestone dug boulder after boulder out of the ground and threw them into large crowds of enemies. Sapphire turned into her vapor form and flew threw enemies. Any enemy that she flew through was instantly frozen and quickly shattered.
“Just like old times, huh?!?!” he called over to Sapphire.
“Yep!!” she echoed back
Rougestone tail swiped an enemy and sent spikes through another one.
“Do you think that the other commanders got the invitation?!?!” he called to her
“Yes, they did.” answered Darkmatter as he dove past Rougestone and took down an enemy. “The others are at different parts of the battlefield. They weren’t going to pass this up.”
Rougestone nodded at him as he sent an enemy flying with an earth pillar. While Rougestone and Darkmatter were fighting in one area, Lerna was climbing from enemy to enemy, poisoning them. At one point, Lerna was out in the open and was about to be hit, when Blaze tackled the enemy.
“What are you doing here?!”
“Saving you.”
“Thanks, but you shouldn’t be here.”
“Whatever. I am just here to help.” he said as he ran off and charged another enemy.
“Kidsssss………” she hissed.

Over at another part of the battlefield, the bison was charging through countless enemies with the lemur jumping up and down on its back. The bison stopped charging and turned to the lemur.
“You know, you could help, Surge.”
“Fine, Sarge, whatever you say.” he said as he leapt off of his back and ran into a group of enemies.
Sarge just shook his head and continued charging. Surge climbed up one of the enemies and started beating it senseless while going for a crazy ride while it thrashed around. In its thrashing, it started taking out some of the other enemies. It eventually collapsed and Surge climbed off of it and moved to the next enemy.
“My…turn…” said the Komodo dragon to himself, as he tall whipped and enemy.
The Komodo dragon took out another enemy with his tail and then started to run. He then threw all of his weight into the nearest enemy, sending it off balance and toppling into another one.
“Having fun yet, Komo?” yelled Surge as he leapt from enemy to enemy as if they were trees.
“Just…mind…yourself…Surge.” he called over to him.
“Will do!” he yelled back.
The badger was in charge of the defenses, so he stayed closer to the wall. He still fought, but only the enemies that were fortunate to get to them. He is the only one of the commanders that really utilizes a weapon of choice, a two handed sword. For his extremely small appearance, he can wield it with ease. He has crafted his own personal blade and is even able to run with it drawn.
“Make sure that nothing gets through!” he called to the warriors that were in the open where a part of the wall was missing.
He leapt towards and enemy and sliced it in half. He then ran while dragging the sword and swung it up at another enemy and using its momentum, he launched himself into the air and slammed down on another enemy. As he landed, he stabbed backwards, hitting an enemy that was going to grab him.
“Heads up, Tachi!” yelled one of the warriors as Tachi sliced through another enemy. He threw his sword into the enemy that was charging him. He leapt up onto the enemy and ripped the sword clean out of him. The enemy collapsed and Tachi landed on his feet with a small thud.

“How much more of this do you think that you can handle?!?!” yelled Rougestone to Darkmatter.
“What? You tired already, Rougestone? I haven’t done anything like this in years. I’m actually enjoying myself!” he yelled to him as he lunged at another enemy.
“I am not saying that I am tired!” Rougestone yelled back “All that I am saying is that we do have our limits.”
“Well, I haven’t reached mine yet!” Darkmatter called back.
“Neither have I!” Rougestone yelled in reply as he sent more spikes through a whole group of enemies.
Tired of being in her vapor form, Sapphire changed back to her normal form and froze the ground around her. Any of the opposing forces that stepped on it immediately lost their balance and went sliding into each other. Near where Rougestone and Darkmatter were fighting, a ball of flame instantly appeared.
“You doing that, Rougestone?!”
“No, I’m not!”
Just then, a dragon stepped out of it and threw a fire ball at the nearest enemy warrior.

“There will be time to exchange pleasantries later. Now we have to do something about them.” the dragon said as he tail swiped another warrior.
They both nodded and continued fighting.
“Who was that?” asked Darkmatter when he was fighting close to Rougestone.
“I don’t know. I didn’t even get a good look at him.”
“Well, as long as he is on our side, I can wait to meet him.”
Rougestone nodded in agreement and continued to fight.
The battle progressed on with no sign of the army letting up, until,
“They are retreating underground!” shouted one of the warriors from on top of the wall.
“We should fall back as well and assess the damage.” Rougestone said to Darkmatter
“I agree. We need to round up the commanders, Sapphire and our new friend.”
Sarge then walked up to them with Serge returned on his back.
“I could use a break.” Sarge said to Rougestone as they turned from the two of them and went inside the safety of the walls.
“He is really getting to old for this.” Darkmatter said to Rougestone
“We will all be there at one point in our lives.” he said back to him
“That is another story, though. Let’s stay in this time. Let’s go inside and see about finding the others.”

Sarge, Surge, and Lerna were all in what was left of the conference room when Darkmatter walked in with Rougestone.
“Have you guys seen the others?”
“Tachi said that he would be here in a little bit. He said that he had something to take care of before he came.”
“Alright, and what about Sapphire?” asked Rougestone
“Present!” she said as she walked into the room.
“You alright?” he asked her as she walked past him
“Of course I am. Come on, Rouge, you didn’t think that that was too much for me to handle, did you?”
“No, I was just making sure that you were okay.”
“Then yes, I am fine.” she said and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“What about Komo?” Darkmatter continued
“I don’t know about him but I am here.”
“Blaze, what are you doing here?!” asked Darkmatter
“I figured that I could stay for your little meeting since I was out there helping.” he answered as he laid down next to where Sarge was.
“I am not in the mood to deal with you now, son.” said Darkmatter
“I’m…here…”
“Nice to see you, Komo.”
“What’s…the kid…doing…here…?”
“Don’t mind him for the moment. He should be alright.” Darkmatter said as he shot a glance over towards Blaze.
Tachi leapt through one of the open windows and took a seat.
“Issss everything alright?” hissed Lerna
“Major damaged to the city but the death toll has stayed at a minimal.”
“That is good to hear. Now all that we are missing is-” started Darkmatter
“I’m here, I got the message.” the dragon said as he walked in from the back. “I hope you don’t mind, the back was open.”
“Most of the building is open.” commented Blaze
“Blaze! Keep that mouth of yours shut!”
“What’s your name, dragon?” asked Rougestone
He was shielded by the shadows of a ledge over head so he walked into the light a little bit more. He was a little bit smaller than Rougestone and apparently had a great control over his fire element. He spoke up, again,
“You mean that you don’t remember me, Mr. Rougestone?”

“Bluefire, you sure have grown.” Rougestone said to him.
“I could say the same about you two as well. How’s it going sis?”
“Great! I am happy to see you. It has been a long time.” Sapphire answered him
“Too long. Well, that is all past us now.”
In the light, Rougestone could see that Bluefire still had the same features that he did as a kid. He was now a darker shade of blue that was almost the same color as his father. He was much more mature than when he was when they left, and he still kept his blue flame.
“You really are starting to look like dad.” Sapphire told him.
“Yeah, I know, and you are definitely taking after mom.”
“Guilty as charged.” she said to her brother.
“So, are you two still…” Bluefire asked them
“You can tell him.” Rougestone said to Sapphire in a quiet voice as to not let Bluefire hear him.
“In a way, yes. Not like we were before we left, though.”
“Then in what way are you talking about?”
“Hi, brother-in-law.” Rougestone said to him

“You could have warned me about this!”
“Calm down, Bluefire. I know what I am doing.” said Sapphire
“Dad’s probably not going to be happy about this.”
“Dad’s here?” asked Sapphire
“No, but he isn’t far from here. We had to relocate about a year after you two left.”
“Why?” asked Sapphire
“Circumstances arose and we were forced to move. They still live in a temple; it is just different from the home that you left.”
“Alright, now that you guys have had your little reunion, I think that we need to get back to the business at hand.” Darkmatter interrupted
“He’s right. We can catch up later.” said Bluefire
“We…need…to…find out…who…is…controlling…the…army.”
“If and when they strike again, Sapphire and I will go search for whoever is doing this.”
“Come on, I am not little anymore, I want to come with you two.” complained Bluefire
“If you can teleport like you did earlier, you should have no trouble catching up to us, but while we are searching, you need to be helping the commanders with the foot soldiers.”
“Alright, as long as I get in on this adventure this time. No more sidelines like when we first met.”
“I know. I didn’t say that you couldn’t come. You just have to hold off the enemies for a little bit and you can join us.”
Bluefire just nodded in agreement.
“Until the time comes, we need to focus our attention on repairing the city.” said Darkmatter
The rest of the commanders all nodded in agreement.
“I take it that Tachi will supervise the repair efforts.” he continued
“Yes, of course I will.” he answered Darkmatter
“And the rest of us will help out in any way that we can.” Rougestone added

“Tachi is the supervisor of the city. He just took it upon himself to take the job along with becoming a commander. No one knows why. It is a lot of work just being a commander, yet he chooses to do both. Each commander has their own story behind them. Some of them are good, while others are not so good. I decided to start this group to keep the city in a more organized manner, and so far it has worked.” Darkmatter was speaking to Rougestone outside after their meeting. The sun was now setting and dragging its rays with it. They wrapped around the city and were being slowly taken with the sun. The two were facing the sun set as Rougestone spoke,
“Everyone’s got a story, Darkmatter. No matter what your purpose is in life is we all have one.”
“You ever wonder if there is someone writing your story as it unfolds?”
“I believe in fate.”
“I don’t know what to believe in, Rougestone.”
“Well, you will know at one point if you don’t know this instant. So Blaze is your son.”
“Yes, he is. He can be quite thick headed at times.”
“I know someone like him. Always wanting to be involved with what is going on. He reminds me of Bluefire when I first met him. Every morning, it would be ‘What are we doing today?! What are we doing today?!’ he always had to be involved with something.”
“It is also starting to sound like us.”
“Blaze is your son.”
“True. I guess he got that from me. You ever plan on having kids?”
“I have been asked that question many times and I am still unsure.”
“If you are worried that you wouldn’t be able to handle it, don’t. You would make a great father.”
“Yeah, I have heard that too.”
“Well, tomorrow will be interesting, if we can make it until then.”
“We will. Now look who’s starting to worry.”
The sun was now only minutes away from setting completely and the night sky started to open itself up to the world.
“With all of the trouble that was caused today, it is still a clear night outside.” Darkmatter said to Rougestone
“Yeah, at least it is quiet out.” Rougestone replied
“You two alright?” Sapphire said as she walked up to them and sat next to Rougestone.
“We are ok; just talking to each other.”
“I think that I am going to head in.” Darkmatter replied
“No, don’t go if it was because of me.” said Sapphire
“It has nothing to do with you, Sapphire. I am just tired after today.”
“Ok, if you say so.” she replied
Darkmatter walk away just as the sun set behind the horizon and left a yellowish glow that turned to a purple as it faded towards the sky.
“You never get tired of this, do you?” asked Sapphire once Darkmatter left.
“Never.” he answered
“Me either.” she said as she rested her head on his shoulder like she did all of those years ago.
“You know,” she continued “We had our first kiss under the stars.”
“I know, seeing that I was the one that did it.”
They were now both looking up.
“You were so stubborn back then. You have no idea.”
“And what about now?”
“You are still the same. Just softer, and I mean that in a good way.”
“I hope you do.”
“You know that I do.”
There was then a moment where neither one of them spoke; just silence.
Sapphire broke the silence, “Rouge…”
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“You love me, right?”
“What kind of a question is that? Of course I do. Why?”
“Just asking.”
“Sapphire, no one just asks a question like that without a reason.”
“Yeah, there is a reason.”
“Well then what is it?” he asked
“Rouge, you are going to be a father.”

Rougestone just stared at her.
“When?” he finally asked
“Whenever it hatches.”
“Already?! Where is it?”
“It is safe.”
“Do you know when it will hatch?”
“Nope.”
“Well, what color is it? Can I see it?”
“Of course you can see it.” she said as she started to lead him away from the wall.
“I honestly didn’t think that you were going to take the news the way that you did.” she continued as they walked further into the city.
“Who else knows?”
“Just you, I didn’t tell anyone else.”
They walked through a fallen arch way and turned towards one of the only buildings in the city that wasn’t damaged.
“I asked Darkmatter and he said that it was ok if we stayed here. He still doesn’t know, though.” she added
“I think that we ought to tell at least the commanders about it.” Rougestone said as they walked into the building.
“We will, in the morning.”
The inside was dark but Rougestone could still notice the outlines of windows throughout the rooms. Candles were scattered all over the building’s interior that left a yellow glow to all of the rooms. Sapphire spoke once she got further inside, “I don’t know how well you are going to be able to see them.”
“Them?!”

He followed her, now even more interested than he was a moment ago, into another room with a couple more candles then the other room. A make shift bed was made on the floor and there were two darkened ovals a little bit smaller than Rougestone’s head.
“I don’t know if you can see their colors. If you can’t, one is a shade of red with brown spots and the other one is almost completely light blue except for a small back spot. I don’t know what the spot means, yet.”
“We will worry about it when the time comes.” he said as he walked over and gave her a kiss.
“Hey,” he continued but at a whisper “the stars are still out.” he said while looking out the window with Sapphire sitting next to him.
“Yes, yes they are.”
“I love you.” he whispered to her.

The sun crept over the horizon early the next morning; its rays reaching out and latching onto the surrounding area. As it slowly inched its way up, the light that it emitted woke Rougestone.
“Morning already?” he asked in a whisper.
Sapphire stirred in her sleep.
He turned to her and whispered, “I am going to speak to Darkmatter. I will be back in a little bit.”
She stirred again, “O…k…” she managed to say before she fell back asleep.
Rougestone walked outside and could finally see the extent of the damage that was done to the city. Most of the buildings had lost their tops and chunks were missing from random spots of every structure.
“Now I know why Tachi is concerned.” he said out load to himself
“Yes, that is why.”
“O, morning, Tachi.”
He was sitting on a pile of debris outside of the next door building.
“Rougestone.” he said with a nod
“Have you seen Darkmatter around here? I need to speak with him.”
“He should be in the conference room. That is the last place that I saw him.”
“Thank you.” Rougestone started to walk away but then stopped and turned back to Tachi, “If you ever need any help today, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
“You’ll be the first one that I call.” he answered back to him.
Rougestone nodded and turned towards the conference room. When he reached it, he could hear Darkmatter talking to someone.
“This is why you aren’t allowed in here while we are discussing!”
“All I said was the truth!”
“It might have been the truth but you need to keep some comments to yourself!”
Rougestone knocked on what was left of the door.
“We’ll finish this later, Blaze.” Darkmatter said to his son “Ah, Rougestone, how are you this morning?”
“Great, I have to talk to you, though.”
“Something wrong?”
“Not at the moment, no.”
“Then go ahead. I’m all ears…wait, Blaze.” he said as he shot him a look.
“Alright, alright, I’m going.” he said as he past Rougestone and left through the open space that was left in the door way.
“So what is up?” asked Darkmatter
“Exactly what we talked about last night.”

“You mean…?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“Rougestone, come on, don’t keep it all to yourself.”
“You seem a little excited.”
“I am just happy for you.”
“Well, one of the reasons that I am talking to you is for their safety. There is no telling if the army is going to attack anytime soon.”
“Look,” he started to say in a more serious tone, “if they come back, I will personally see to it that they get out of here unharmed.”
“Thank you.”
“Rougestone, you guys are like family to us, now, and any other little dragons that happen to arrive here are family too. You guys have helped us and that is the least that I can do for you. So, tell me what you know.” he started to relax again as he said the last thing.
“One of them is red with brown spots and the other is completely blue aside from a lone black spot.”
“Right, any idea when they will be here?”
“No, I have no idea.”
“Names?”
“Look, Darkmatter, let’s take this one step at a time.”
“Alright.”
“I mean, this is my first time. I want to take it as slow as possible.”
“Alright, alright, I understand. I went through all of that. Like I said last night, you are going to be a great father. If you have any doubts, cast them aside.”
“It is just that I don’t know if I can be a good father. I have no clue since I never knew my father or what it was like to have one.”
“Whether or not you knew your father, when the time comes, you will be there for your kids. Just be yourself and you’d be surprised at what having kids will do for you. It is a whole new experience for you to have, and I think that it is the only one that you haven’t had.”
“How much do you know about dragons, Darkmatter?”
“Not much, why?”
“I am unsure of how long it will take for the eggs to hatch and I want to be there. That and Sapphire is all alone and if the eggs were to hatch, there would be no way for her to tell me.”
“I think I know who to talk to about that.”

“Sure, I’ll help.”
“We’d appreciate that.” said Rougestone
Rougestone and Darkmatter were at another one of the buildings that was damaged in the attack. A yellow and orange fox was sitting before them.
“Yeah, I can help you with that.”
“What’s your name?” asked Rougestone
“You may call me Alacrity.” she answered
“Well, I haven’t heard that name before.” commented Rougestone.
“It basically means speed. That is why I wanted you two to meet.” Darkmatter stated.
“All I am asking is that you stay with her until the time comes for the eggs to hatch. If I am not there-”
Darkmatter interrupted, “Rougestone, Alacrity will have no trouble tracking you and she is the fastest runner that we have.”
“I wouldn’t mind spending time with your kind, either. Dragons have always fascinated me and I would love to get to know some of you.”
“Thank you. You may join Sapphire whenever you are ready. I am going to go explain the plan to her now.” Rougestone replied.
“I’ll go with you, now. I am ready.” she said as she threw a small pack over her shoulder.
“I will leave you two, then.” Darkmatter said as the two of them started to leave.
“Alright, let’s go.” Rougestone said to Alacrity.

They both reached Sapphire in no time and Rougestone explained to her what his plan was.
“You always have to be helping, don’t you?”
“If you want me to stay, I will.”
“No, I want you to help them. I also hope that are kids are just like you; willing to help others at the cost of something of their own.”
“I will be here when they hatch, I promise.”
“Me too.” Alacrity said, “I will find him as soon as anything happens.”
“Thank you.” Sapphire said to Alacrity
“I have always wanted to hang out with a dragon!” she said as she started to get excited.
Rougestone guessed that the fox was in her late teens by the way that she sometimes acted.
“I want to know as soon as the smallest thing happens with the eggs.”
“You will, I promise.” Alacrity said to Rougestone.
There was a knock at the door and Rougestone could hear Blaze’s voice on the other side.
“Tachi sent me. He says that he wants to take you up on that offer that you two talked about earlier.”
“Alright, I’ll go see him.”
He nodded to Alacrity and gave Sapphire a kiss before he headed over to the door. He stopped and gave one last look at them and he was gone.

“Where was he last?”
“At one of the construction sites right past the conference room.”
“Are you coming too?” asked Rougestone
“Yeah, I guess so.”
“Then let’s go.”
“What are you doing?”
“I haven’t flown in a while and I need to stretch my wings.” he said as he made an attempt to grab Blaze.
“Look, maybe you forgot or something, but I don’t fly.”
“I remember. I am going to get you to like flying if I have to drag you up there.” he said as he got a hold of Blaze before he could react.
“This is so not cool!” he yelled as Rougestone took off with him in his arms.
“Would you quit that?” Rougestone asked Blaze. He was hitting Rougestone on the arm as an attempt to make Rougestone let him go.
“Just relax. We are almost there and if you just calm down for a second, you might enjoy it up here.” Rougestone continued.
After that, Blaze just stayed quiet for the rest of the trip.

Rougestone placed Blaze lightly on the ground and let him get a hold of himself.
“See, that wasn’t as bad as the last time. At least you kept your eyes open this time.”
Blaze just looked at him.
“Tachi should be it here.” he finally said after a moment of silence. He gestured to one of the buildings that was almost next door to the conference room.
“Thank you.” he said to Blaze.
Blaze just growled at him.
The two of them walked into the building and stopped short to dodge some falling debris. Tachi climbed down to where they were, but stopped at a ledge to met Rougestone eye-to-eye.
“A heads up would have been nice.” commented Blaze
Rougestone just hit him over the head with his tail.
“So, what’s up Tachi?” Rougestone asked him as Blaze sat down and rubbed his head where Rougestone had hit him.
“This building is too unstable and we have to knock down any of the pieces that have the possibility to topple, and we have to eventually have to take the rest of it down as well.”
“I can do that easily, but you two, and anyone else that is in here, might not want to be here.”
Tachi nodded and climbed out of the building through a window that was on his level. Blaze just walked out where they had first come in. The ground started to shake and small chunks of the building started to crumble off of the walls. Larger pieces then started to fall; landing with load thuds as they hit the ground. Rougestone just pulled a dome over himself and kept the quake going, and it only affected the target area of the condemned building. Soon, Rougestone struck the foundation of the structure and the rest of it fell into a large heap of wood and stone.

“Any more that needs to have that done to them? That was kind of fun.” Rougestone said as he rose up out of the ground where Tachi and Blaze were waiting for him next to the debris pile.
“I will have to see. I thought that that was going to take me most of the day to do.” Tachi said to Rougestone.
“Just let me know. It seems quiet enough around here and I haven’t heard anything from Alacrity so I am free at the moment.”
“As you can see, you pretty much freed my day up. I can find some other things to do, though.”
“Alright, we will leave you to your work. If you need anything, come find me. Let’s go Blaze.”
He cringed for a second.
“No, we aren’t flying.” Rougestone said to him.
Blaze followed him out to where the plaza was and there was no one there.
“Did you know that the plaza doubles as a training room? Dummies can appear as someone needs them.” Blaze said to Rougestone as he caught up to him.
“Really?”
“Yeah, and I also want to show you something, Rougestone, but you can’t tell anyone about it. Ok?”
“Yeah, sure, I won’t tell anyone.”
The two of them were now at the center of the plaza and Rougestone had an earth dummy come out of the ground.
“Alright, go ahead Blaze.”
Blaze nodded and caught fire.

“That is a nice trick.” Rougestone said to Blaze “Why don’t you want anyone else to know?” he asked as the dummy disintegrated from a flame shot from Blaze.
“My father says that it is not natural. We are still unsure of how I can even do this.” he said as he extinguished himself. “I have been able to stay in control of it so I don’t think that it is something that is meant to hurt me.”
“I don’t know what to make of it. I haven’t seen an animal with an elemental ability before, and I have seen a lot of things in my travels.”
“I just wanted to show you that. I kind of wanted to make up for the way that I have been acting lately.”
“You are just acting your age. I hold nothing against you. If you want to train some more with your fire, I will say that I was just practicing.”
“I thought that you were and earth dragon.”
“That is true, but I can also breathe fire. I am a mixed dragon.” he said as he shot a fire ball.
“Alright, since you are going to put it that way.” Blaze re-ignited and started to fight the dummies that appeared.
They both lost track of the time and before Rougestone knew it, Blaze was the only thing that was lighting up the plaza.
“Blaze, you have to change back.”
“Right.” he said as got rid of the flames.
“I need to get home to Sapphire and you need to get home as well.”
“What if the old man starts asking question?”
“Answer them. Tell him that you were out here training with me. That isn’t a lie.”
Blaze nodded and ran off into the city. Rougestone took off into the sky and head straight to where Sapphire was waiting.
“Have fun today?” she asked as he walked in.
“I helped Tachi and helped train Blaze over at the plaza today.”
“Well, I had a good day. I actually got to relax and not have to worry about anything. Alacrity helped and she got to ask me questions.”
“Questions?” he asked
“Yes, she is extremely interested in dragons. It is as if she has never seen one in her life.”
“Maybe she hasn’t.”
“True, she is in there now, sleeping.” she said as she gestured over to one of the other rooms.
“And the eggs?”
“They haven’t moved an inch. Just give it time.”
“I know, I know. You should get some rest.”
“I will in a little while. Alacrity and I are taking shifts to watch over the eggs, just in case they hatch at night.”
“Remember, I-” he was cut off by Sapphire
“Yes, you want to be the first to know. Now, you seemed to have had a long day, go in and rest.” she said as she gave him a kiss.
“Alright, oh, and tomorrow night I want a part of the watch.”
“Okay Rouge. Good night.”
“Good night, Sapphire.”
