Went to my TRU today grabbed the one and only LC shroom boom in the place, employee stopped me and asked where I got it. He proceeded to say the whole thing was a cluster fk and they were not supposed to release any of them until the 23rd. He said he had no idea why their ad posted the 21st, they set up a table and were telling people they didn't get a shipment. There were however a few of the new releases on the table eruptor, stealth elf, cynder, and a prism break. He said NO Giants this wave nor on the 23rd and they weren't setting lightning rod or the other 10-15 boxes out until the 23rd. I asked him the 8 were since the ad said 8 and only 6 have been accounted for. He showed me a few boxes of what was in back. I didn't see anything that hasn't already been posted here. Take it for what you will.

Do NOT beleive him, he probably said that so he could buy them for himself.

The TRU statement that 8 are available is misleading. The regular boxes are packed 12 to a case with 11 specific characters (2 Flashwing). The directive from TRU was to take Lightning Rod, Stealth Elf and Prism Break out of the boxes and have those three and only those three on the shelf Friday morning at 6am to placate the internet add. The other 8 figures all still in the wave 3 boxes were meant for midnight 12/23. There are no hidden figures or surprises left.

So does that mean that no giants are coming out this wave for a fact?

Source? Because that would not be 8 wave 3 figures to choose from, that would be 2 Wave 3 and a bunch of Wave 2 figures. Makes no sense.

^ This! I went to Toys R Us today and purchased all of the Wave 3 that I didn't already have...Eruptor, Stealth Elf, Prism Break, and Lightning Rod. The guy that works electronics is super nice. He opened every wave 3 (labeled for 12/23) and let me look inside. Both of the Toys R Us' near me went ahead and put out all of the characters in a few of the boxes. The guy also said that unless they receive a very last minute shipment, that is it for wave 3 before Christmas. He also didn't sound like it was a mistake to release Lightcore Shroom Boom on the 20th.

I think it's a better idea to release giants before Christmas because they are more ummmm.. Im not good in English.. Expensive.. So they will catch more money and we are happy

I'm sure the percentage they make off a giant sale is about the same as they make from a regular or lc sale. It's a much more complicated formula than just the more expensive toy make more money.

While I still think we will have a giant release as a 3.5 wave and not have to wait for wave 4, I see what this wave was supposed to be. A shelf stocker and an easy way to take advantage of pre Xmas shopping. All of these figs were available in ssa (not counting shroomy) so basically they are just pushing the giants brand. A lot of parents don't get that the kids can use the old figures so they only buy ones that say giants on them. A lot of kids will be playing giants as their first skylanders game. This wave fills the shelves for now and after Xmas. Plus stores can push "new" toys right before Xmas. It makes sense if you take away our "gotta catch em all" mentality. They'll use the giants next year to keep interest so they can keep selling random stuff with skylanders on it like bikes, backpacks, and seasonal things like valentines day cards (ninjini would be great for that time.)

The only surprise will be the Gill Grunt variant.

I hadn't checked the actual product spot. Interesting. I'll be near a GameStop today. I'll pop in and ask (tho they are usually morons about everything not just skylanders) and show them the ad. Another interesting question is if other retailers will have their date pushed as well should gs actually not release it to til the 9th. Strangest part is a lot of users say the gs already has them in store so pushing the release would make 0 sense.

Might be a little sense in this. Some gamestops may not be open on 1/1, due to being New Years. This would apply to some Mall locations. To play devil's advocate on my own post, why would they not just push it back to 1/2?

I really hope this isn't some hacked up prank like as in it's another lie and I also hope I don't get in trouble for this, but everyone knows that most of the hacks for Giants were from the Wii version and again this is the Xbox360 version. From what I know this is the first time I've seen these characters being played on something other than the Wii. In case anyone wonders, you can tell because he talks to Cali and you see a yellow Y button icon. The Wii doesn't have that button.

Also everyone else lifts the boulders and looks like they put effort into pushing the boulders in the feat of strength moments, but she can just levitates the boulders and makes the feat of strength looks so easy.

That looks like a possibility Zap and Matteo I see what your getting at. She has this disturbingly attractive and alluring personality to her from her movements to the way she speaks. You can almost say that she speaks in a very seductive tone. Now don't get me wrong, I know it's a kids game, but you still have to ask why does she talk like that? After all there really aren't that many characters left to release now and I think it would be seriously ludicrous to do like last time with a measly 3 guys left in the first game. There shouldn't be a wave 5, unless it contains variants or something not the main regular versions of characters.

I don't think it would contain the last three giants. Maybe a giant but not the last three. If they did it the way you said Zap, I would consider that wave 4.

I see what you mean about her attacks Zap. Though sadly it seems she still does more damage than even the awesome Eye Brawl. Eye Brawl only does approximately 16 to 18 damage with his punches, but her swords do 20 damage. Here's what cracks me up and this is only a joke, remember when Jet Vac said giants can literally throw boulders. Well unless levitating a boulder counts as literal, then that's not the same with her.

but eye brawl has both of his powers ready to go, right off the bat.

ninjini only has 1 affective power untill upgrades.

It would be possible to hack the 360 version of the game, it's just more difficult because it required a hard-mod as well as a soft-mod where as you only need to soft-mod to get hacked Skylanders for the Wii version.

That's true and he still has the overall more creative design. If anyone asks it wouldn't have been a problem with lifting boulders with levitation if it weren't for the fact that she's the only female giant. I personally like to speak for the women and prevent sexism and I think making the only female giant strong only because of a gimmick is kinda insulting. I get she's the magic giant, but there are girls who can lift heavy things, why make the guys look stronger than girls, it's exactly why they hate it when guys look tougher.

She could make a magical explosion by exiting the bottle, but why would you want to do that? Your better off with just the swords and I honestly didn't realize that she doesn't get the bottle rockets in the beginning. Kinda weird she can't shoot in the beginning, but Swarm can shoot and even fly from the start. It's seriously like everyone and I mean everyone who is a giant can start strong at first, but she needs to work her way to the top in order to even start causing some damage. Way to go TFB for making the girl look weak, in fact, that seems to be with a lot of the female skylanders like hex, Stealth Elf, Whirlwind and even Cynder.
