I woke up to a splash and opened my eyes. Shadow was standing in the cave entrance, her mouth in a small smirk. I fell over in shock. I tried to get away, but my back just hit a giant rock.
“What do you want?” I tried to sound brave, but failed horribly.
“What do you think? What would I, Shadow, need from a random dragon?” She started walking towards me, and I forced myself not to whimper in fear. “How about another dragon to fight with me? To get rid of my enemies? To protect me if anyone breaks into my castle?”
“I’d never do any of those things!”
“Well, it seems you don’t have a choice, do you?”
I looked around for Fyre, but couldn’t find him. Where was he?
“Fyre! Help!” I yelled, hoping desperately that he would appear. But he didn’t.
“Calling out for Fyre? That won’t do anything for you. He was working for me this whole time. This was all just an act. Fyre isn’t on your side, he never will be. Everything he told you, everything he did was just a lie. And you fell for it.”
“N-no. That’s not true. He likes me!”
Shadow burst out laughing. “Fyre. Likes you. That’s the finniest thing I’ve ever heard. You actually think he likes you. You’re more gullible than I imagined. He doesn’t like you, that was just an act. To get you to trust him. Understand?” I still didn’t respond. That was impossible, right? She was lying. She had to be lying. She was Shadow, for Ignitus’ sake!
Shadow’s eyes glowed and I was surrounded in darkness. I tried to fight back, but I knew I wouldn’t hold out for long. I was horror-stricken as I lost control and was pushed to the back of my mind.
“Follow me.” Shadow ordered. I obeyed and we flew off. I recognized every place we passed-Avalar, Warfang, the dam, and the Burned Lands. I just followed her silently the entire time. We finally reached a giant castle, which I wassumed to be where I was going to live from now on. Shadow gave me a short tour of the castle and left me to do whatever the heck she does. Oh sure, don’t give me a map or anything. I’m sure I won’t get lost in this impossibly huge maze of a castle! I sighed and just claimed a room as my own. Shadow and I were the only ones living there, right? I just sat on my bed, doing nothing. Better that than getting lost.
“Hey!” A voice called. I turned my head and saw a dragon. “New dragon. Did Shadow just recruit you, or what?” I just stared in surprise. “Well? Say something!”
“Uh…I guess…” I answered. “Who are you?”
“Renee. I’ve been working for Shadow for a while now. It was lonely with only two other people besides me here.”
“Who were the other two?”
“Shadow-you know her already-and Fyre.”
“F-fyre?” I stammered. No, that was impossible. “Um, I heard that he left Shadow.”
“You must’ve heard some rumor. Fyre was on a mission or something. Unless you’re talking about Kelp. He ditched us for no reason. Actually, Fyre went on his mission right after Kelp left. I think it was related somehow, but who knows?” She shrugged.
I tried to keep calm, but that was sort of hard to do when I was in so much shock. So he was just acting. I felt like I had been kicked in the chest. I felt like crying. I felt like ripping Fyre to shreds.
“Renee?” I heard a familiar voice call out. I clenched my teeth. I saw Fyre walk in. “We’re supposed…” he stopped when he saw me.
“Uh, earth to Fyre?” Renee said, waving a paw in front of his face.
“Huh?” He shook his head and turned to Renee.
“We have a new dragoness working with us. Her name is…wait, what is your name?”
“Desi.” I answered calmly, acting like nothing was wrong.
“Nice name.” Renee commented. “Now, what were you going to say, Fyre?”
“Shadow called a meeting and told me to get you.” He stated and then walked off.
“What’s up with him?” Renee wondered out loud. “Meh, whatever. Come on, you should probably come with us.”
“Okay.” I followed her down the still confusing hallways until we came to a huge room. Shadow and Fyre were already waiting for us. Shadow was sitting on a char-ish thing. She looked so ridiculous I had to hold back a laugh.
“What’s up with the throne?” I asked Renee in a hushed tone.
“I have no idea. Just go with it, Shadow might be ticked if you ask her about it.” She answered quietly.
“Are we all here?” Shadow asked. No, we still have to wait for Spyro!
“There are only three of us, Shadow. Just get on with it already!” Renee said sharply. A fireball flew her way, but she dodged it fairly easily. She made a face at Shadow and sat down next to me. Shadow growled, but decided not to attack again.
“As you know, the rebel dragons are on Hawaii. Your mission is to kill them or slow them down. We aren’t taking prisoners-you are aiming to injure or possibly kill. Understand?”
“Yes, Shadow.” “Uh-huh.” I simply nodded.
“Good. You will leave at nightfall-morning in the other universe. Do not fail.” Shadow gave us all stern looks and left. Jeez, she seemed to disappear a lot.
“Yes! My first mission!” Renee said joyfully.
“Really?” I asked.
“Yep. To attack the rebel dragons, at least.”
“Who are the rebel dragons, anyways?” I asked, already having an idea.
“A group of dragons that want to overthrow Shadow. They’re actually all half dragons that recently discovered their heritage. I don’t get why Shadow is so nervous about them. I mean, they’re all weaker than hatchlings.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure. Never underestimate your enemy.” Fyre joined our conversation. I kept my mouth shut, I didn’t need any more trouble. Renee, on the other hand, decided to take a different approach.
“I know, Fyre. You don’t have to act so wise all the time. You’re like Yoda.”
“Just warning you. You don’t want to get hurt, do you?”
(warning: next music is just...wierd. listen to it at your own risk >.>)

“Oh, so you care about my safety now?” Renee asked in a flirty tone. I felt slightly jealous…okay, really jealous. But I wanted to see what would happen.
“What, I can’t care about a friend’s safety?”
“You seem to care more than just a friend would.” Renee said tauntingly. Of course, I knew she was over exaggerating, but Fyre’s face was getting red. His expression was priceless.
“O-of course not!” Fyre stammered. I smirked inwardly. This was flat down hilarious.
“Are you sure, Fyre?” Renee stepped closer to him. “Just as a friend?”
“I’m positive.” Fyre tried to hold his ground, but it wasn’t working at all.
“”Really? Because it seemed to me,” Renee was now inches away from Fyre. “That your concern came from more than just being friends.” It was funny at first, but it was getting harder and harder for me to watch. Jealousy was flaring inside me like a wildfire, and it was all I could do not to run out of there.
“Renee, we’re juts friends. Besides…I like someone else.”
Renee seemed unimpressed with the response. “Okay, then. Who do you like?”
Fyre looked at me. I turned away, but he outright walked up to me. I felt my cheeks turn red, and I gave an embarrassed glance at Renee. She didn’t look mad or disappointed, just shocked. Then again, I was too.
Fyre’s face was close to mine. I wanted to close my eyes and enjoy the moment, but I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. I took a step away from him.
“You had your chance. You blew it when you left me.” I stated bluntly, then left to go to my room.

If you did, your mom would ban you from the net. Nipah~ and Nii... are two things one of the cutest and creepiest girls in all of anime says, from one of the bloodiest and most intense animes ever. Really, once you start watching it you can't stop because it's a 'who done it?' sort of thing.
