Part 64: Missing dragon

While Light and Sapphire were working hard to try and find out where the dark castle was, Dawn and Pablo sat at the lake in Dragon City. "Do you think we'll get there in time?" Dawn asked worried. Pablo nodded. "We will. Light and Sapphire are experts. If anyone can find that castle, they can." He said. Dawn sighed as she remembered her own past. "Dawn? Are you okay?" Pablo asked, looking at her. Dawn didn't answer, she was too deep in thought. "I wonder..." She thought. "Um...Dawn?" Pablo said louder. "Oh! I'm fine! No need to worry!" Dawn quickly responded, getting up on her feet and walking off. "Hey! Where are you going,Dawn?" Pablo called after her. Again, Dawn didn't answer, just walked off.

Meanwhile...

Rookie paced around the door outside the building where Light and Sapphire were working when Sapphire suddenly opened the door right in his face. "OW!" He yelled, backing away from the door. "Oh! Sorry Rookie! Didn't see you there." He said. Rookie shook his head and looked at Sapphire. "Forget it. Have you found anything?" He asked. Sapphire sighed and shook his head. "No...nothing. Light and I are getting a bit frustrated, but we'll keep working. I'm just going to get Mack." He explained, then walked off. Rookie sighed and looked at the sky. Just then, a loud scream came from around the corner. "ROOKIE!!!!" Diamond yelled, running around the cornet and accidentally running into a wall. "Um....Diamond, what's wrong?" Rookie asked. "Dawn's gone! Nobody can find her anywhere!!" She spoke quickly, barely able to breath. Rookie's eyes widen. "What?!" Diamond just nodded. "Um...okay! Calm down! Did you look around Avalar?!! He asked. "Yes! But couldn't find her. All I saw there was cheetahs trying to rebuild their village after the dark army wrecked the place." Diamond explained. Rookie nodded. "And what about Sapphire's lair?" Diamond nodded. "Looked there too." Rookie looked at the ground. "Oh great. Dawn, what the heck are you doing?! He thought. "All right! Keep looking! Thanks for telling me this,Diamond." Rookie said. She nodded, then took off.

Meanwhile, at the dark castle...

Black and Darkness ordered a meeting with all of the dark army. More like a speech, actually. Black stepped forward and spoke loud and clear, his evil,hateful voice ringing like bells. "It won't be long now. There's only ten more hours before the dark princess awakens. When that happens, she will need to take another full day to awaken her powers and absorb all of the dark energy she needs to perform the fury of the mysterious element. Until then,she will have as much control over you all as we do. When the new world is born, you will serve her like you serve us! She is our daughter, and she will be respected by all of you useless runts! Do you all hear me?!" He spoke to the large group of creatures. All of the creatures roared one word. That one word could be heard for miles. "YES!!!"

Sally: Oh great. *swims to shore and walks toward path* Wonder what she wants now.

Silver: *thinks* Saved....*swims to shore*

Sally and Fireball: *walk off into forest*

Silver: Wait up! * follows them*

Sally: *stops* Oh wow. You're coming? Thought you were gonna stay in that lake all day.

Silver: No way, I'm not gonna look like some crinkled old person...of course, if you want me to stay....

Sally: Why would I want you to? Heh...fool. Let's go. *continues walking*

Silver: Aww, so you do care!! *continues to follow*

Sally: Oh I do?

Silver: Yeah. You don't want me to look like an old person, you want me to look like my great old, handsome self... he-he

Sally: Meh. It's just that, if you look like an old person, you'll be even more ugly then you are now. And then I'll have to look at the most ugly dragon ever every day.

Silver: *sarcastic* And you're very beautiful....*walks off*

Sally: *laughs* Boy, you're something else, aren't you? Come on, Fireball. I don't want Wanderist yelling at us over how long it took us. *walks off*

Fireball: *follows*

Part 65: Midnight (Dawn's plan)


Dawn was running through a large forest, knowing that she would be easily spotted if she flew. When she decided that she was far enough away from Dragon City and Avalar, she stopped. Catching her breath, she looked around her. There was nothing but trees and grass around her. "Okay. I guess all I can do now is wait a little." She said to herself.

Meanwhile at Dragon City....

"Still no sign of her?" Pablo asked Rookie as he caught up to him in the busy streets of Dragon City. Rookie sighed. "No, not yet. I just don't get it. Why would she take off during a time like this? She knows as well as all of us that the castle hasn't been found yet, so what is she up to?" He replied, looking at the ground. Pablo thought for a moment. "It's obvious she's up to something, we just gotta find out what." He said. Rookie nodded. "To make matters worse, no matter how hard Light and Sapphire work, they can't seem to get any new news as to where the dark castle is. We're STILL at square one, and it won't be but a few hours before Wanderist is turned evil!" Rookie said, frustrated from all this. They both sighed. "Well, maybe Dawn will come up with something from all this." Pablo said, then turned around to walk off, then turned back to ask another question." By the way, Mack told me he started researching a way to keep us all safe from the mysterious element, so how is that going? Has he come up with anything?" He asked. Rookie shook his head. "No. So far, he has proven that it is pretty much impossible." He said. "I see..." Pablo replied, then walked off. "Dawn,what are you up to?" He thought as he walked off.

Meaaanwhiiiile back with Dawn...

Dawn paced around in circles, waiting for something to happen. "Come on! Do it already! I'm running out of time here!" She thought angrily,then stopped and sighed. She eventually decided to lay down. And eventually, she fell asleep.

Dawn opened her eyes to see that she was now in a place full of grass and trees on the side. "Okay...it seems I'm here." She said to herself, looking behind her to see a bunch of mountains. "Alright! Where are you?! I don't have time for hide and seek!" She called. "Stay calm, Dawn." A voice said. Dawn turned to where the voice was coming from. "It's kinda hard to keep calm when one of my friends is about to be corrupted, and my other friend is dead." She responded. She saw a large female dragon walk toward her from the forest. "Yes, that's true. But if you want to help you're friend, you're going to have to keep calm and focus." She said. Dawn sighed. "Whatever. I didn't exactly come here to get your advice. I came here to get one answer. That's all." She replied. The dragon nodded. "Yes. I know that. You want to know where the dark castle is, don't you?" She said. Dawn nodded. "Yes, can you please tell me? If someone dosen't get there soon, all will be lost. And knowing you, you're my best chance of finding out. Am I right, mother?" She said. Her mother, Midnight, nodded. "First of all, are you sure you want to go alone?" She asked. "What choice do I have? I won't have time to go all the way back to Dragon City and tell everyone." Dawn replied. Midnight nodded, and told her what she wanted to know.

Meanwhile...

"UGH! THIS IS USELESS!!!" Sapphire yelled, slamming his foot on another map, then tearing it with his claw. "What's with you, Sapphire? Getting tired?" Light asked. "I just can't take this anymore! Every map in the world is saying that the castle dosen't exist! As well as all the maps in the labs! No dragon has ever seen this castle! It couldn't have been built THAT recently, could it? A castle takes forever to build! You'd think ONE of these map makers would have found it and put it on a map!" Sapphire yelled. Light sighed and looked at the time. "Looks like there's an hour at the most before the corruption is complete." He said. Sapphire looked down at the floor. "Even if we did find this castle in time, we wouldn't be able to get there in time. Can't you use you're little ultra light shield to cover Dragon City?" He said. Light shook his head. "My shield is only capable of covering something small,like a small entrance. It can't cover the whole city." He explained. Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Yes?" Sapphire called. Just then, Mack walked in. "Mack? What is it? Did you find anything?" Light asked. "No. It's absolutely impossible to escape the mysterious element. If Darkness and Evil really do corrupt Wanderist and make her use it, that will be it. We'll have no way to avoid it." He explained.

Part 66: The dark princess is officially born (Wanderist VS. Dark Wanderist)

At the dark castle, the dark army was preparing for Dark Wanderist's arrival. Black and Darkness were in their room. And Wanderist,of course, was in the dark cage being corrupted by the dark magic.

Wanderist opened her eyes to find herself in a dead forest. No grass, all the trees were dead, and the sky was black and Grey. "Um...hello? Where am I?" Wanderist asked out loud. "Where are you?" A voice echoed. Wanderist jumped back and looked in the direction that the voice came from. "You are....well...I guess you can say...the future." The voice responded. Wanderist's eyes widen. "What are you talking about?! Me and my friends would NEVER let this happen!" She yelled. "Well, you did. In fact, you're pretty much the one who did this, you know. With me and the dark magic partly controlling you." The voice said. Wanderist growled. "NO! I'm going to prevent this! Now, stop being a coward and show yourself!" Wanderist yelled. "Hm...very well. I have to defeat you in order to completely gain control, anyway." The voice responded, then walked into view. It was a black dragon with dark red wings and stomach, red horns, and a necklace just like Wanderist's, only instead of the crystal in the middle being clear, it was grey. Wanderist's eyes widen. "You're-" "Yeah,yeah, I'm you're alter ego. Got a problem with that?" Dark Wanderist snapped. "Shut up! Of course I do! I don't want you!" Wanderist replied. "Well, what choice do you have? It's not like you can get rid of me."
"You wanna bet?"
"Sure. Like I said, in order for the corruption process to truly be complete, I must defeat you, then you'll be the alter ego! So,bring it on!"
Meanwhile...

"Come on, Darkness. The corruption process is almost done. By now,Wanderist should have met her alter ego and the battle has probably already started." Black said. The two walked in, followed by several ape guards. They stopped in front of the cage. They could see that now Wanderist was a mix of black and white, red and pink. And her crystal was slowly turning grey. "It seems Dark Wanderist is winning." Darkness said. Black nodded as he watched. "May I ask why this takes so long? Why is she just NOW meeting her alter ego after 23 hours? What's been going on all this time if she wasn't fighting her alter ego?" An ape commander asked. Black turned around and glared at him, but answered anyway. "Well, for starters, in order for an alter ego to be able to contact the host, either the host much be angry, or close enough to defeat or death. At the beginning of the corruption process, the dark crystal works on doing both. The magic also weakens the host enough to give the alter ago an advantage. For legends like the ultra light dragon, it takes up to 23 hours in order for them to be in enough pain that an alter ego can contact them and do as they please to them. That's why it's taken so long. On any ordinary dragon, it would be much shorter." Black explained.

Meanwhile..... (NOTE: I THING I made most of what Black said up from the top of my head. Sorry if it made no sense. )

Dark Wanderist smacked Wanderist in the face with her wing,sending her flying into a dead tree. "Is this all the great ultra light dragon's got left? What about your secret element, Wanderist?" DW said as Wanderist got up. She felt the pain of the dark magic draining out her energy, giving her alter ego more control and a better advantage. She growled as her clear crystal glowed. "Fine! I'll show you my ultra light!" She roared, then shot a huge jolt of ultra light strait at DW. "That's very impressive." She said. "But can you're simple ultra light beat itself PLUS darkness?" Wanderist's eyes widen as Dark Wanderist's eyes glowed Grey along with her crystal. Then, she launched a jolt of the mysterious element. It collided with Wanderist's ultra light,causing an explosion. Both dragon kept shooting their elements, and both elements kept colliding until the myserious element finally won over ultra light and shot Wanderist. She screamed in pain as the element hit her,causing a large explosion. When the smoke from the element cleared, Wanderist was lying on the ground out cold, barely alive. "Heh. How pathetic." Her alter ego said. "You're lucky that I NEED you to stay alive. If you died, so would I. But now, you're going to be the alter ego, and I'M going to be the host." She said as the dark magic poured all over the dreamworld. "Lucky for you, since I'm in perfect health, you'll recover from this. Now, bye." She finished, then vanished.

In the room, Dark Wanderist started to overpower the dark cage (since she's basically immune to it.) and broke free of the cage. Dark Wanderist landed before "her parents" and bowed in respect. "Mom,dad." She said. Her parents smiled proudly. "Welcome to your true form, Wanderist." Darkness said. "You're new life awaits." Black said. Dark Wanderist nodded.

Part 67: The secret war

Dawn was running as fast as she could to the edge of the forest (you'll find out why soon.) But then, as she was running, she ran strait into something. "OW!" Both voices yelled as they both fell to the ground. "Urgh....my head." Dawn groaned,getting up only to see a male yellow dragon with tan/orange wings,horns,and spikes. His brown eyes looked up at Dawn. "Who are you and why are you here?" She growled. The dragon didn't respond,only examined her closely. "You're on Dragon City's side,aren't you?" He said. "Huh? How'd you know that?" Dawn asked. "Because..." He hesitated. "Because I used to be your enemy."

"Dang it! This sucks!" Sapphire yelled, looking around the woods. "No secret passages anywhere!" He said. Him and Light had been searching for any suspicious behavior that might indicate the secret way to the dark castle, seeing as they were running out of time and it obviously wasn't going to be found on any existing magic map. "Settle down,Sapphire. Gosh,I've never seen you get this aggravated before." Light said, looking under trees and bushes. "Well,I can't help it! This is just so-" "HEY GUYS!!" Light and Sapphire looked back to see Mack running over. "I've got some good news! I can't protect the city itself,but I think I know a way we can protect the citizens!" He said. Light and Sapphire glanced at each other,then back at Mack surprised.

"Again,who are you?" Dawn asked. "My name is Sandstorm. You see....I used to be an apprentice in the dark army." He said. Dawn growled and got into fighting position. "Wait! Please,let me finish! You see, I was only working for them to get some information on what was going on! Then I left to find someone to tell before it's too late,and...I found you wondering about." He explained. Dawn stopped growling,but kept her guard up. "Where's evidence of this?" She asked. Sandstorm nodded. "I thought you might ask that. You don't seem like the kind of dragon who would believe someone so easily." He said,then gave Dawn a surprising story.
Sandstorm told Dawn that Abby had filled her head with lies,somewhat. She was telling the truth about Black,Darkness,and DARK Wanderist ruling the new world...at least,half of it. Her main lie was about Evil, the father of Malefor. She said that Evil had been defeated and is now working under Black and Darkness. However,the truth was that there were two dark armies,two sides (besides good,) and a secret war that the non-evil creatures of this world didn't know about. The war between evil and evil. And once the new world was born, the war would only continue on. "Wow....why would Abby lie to us about that?" "Dunno. All I know is that we're almost out of time. Dark Wanderist will perform the fury 22 hours from now." Dawn's eyes widen. "I'M TOO LATE?!" She yelled. Sandstorm looked at her. "Huh? You were going to save her?" "Yes! I already found out where the castle was from...long story." She replied. "Oh." He said, then looked in the direction he had been coming from. "Well,it may be too late to stop her corruption, but it's not too late to stop the new world and save her." He said. "That way." He pointed. "You'd better hurry. I'll go to Dragon City and explain everything." He told her. Dawn nodded. "I just hope I'm doing the right thing by trusting you." She said,then took off.
She eventually ended up at a small lake. "This is it..." She said to herself as she slowly approached the lake. She looked back in the direction of Dragon City one last time, then looked down at the lake. "I'm coming,Wanderist. I'm going to save you and we're both gonna stop this madness!" She thought, then jumped into the lake,which turned out to not be a lake at all. Instead of their being water under the lake, there was a large castle with mountains, a large black sky where the lake's surface should be, and instead of floating in water, Dawn started falling. She gained control of herself and started flapping her wings,saving herself from falling to death. She looked toward the castle and flew strait toward it.

Meanwhile....

"Wanderist,come here,please." Her mother said. DW walked over to her. "Wanderist, it seems there is an intruder. I'm sure you'll recognize her. Her name is Dawn." She explained. DW's eyes widen,but then narrowed. "You want me to take care of it,mother?" She asked. A big grin spread across Darkness's mouth. "Yes." Dark Wanderist nodded. "Understood. Do you want her alive or dead?" Darkness thought for a moment. "Alive,if you can do that." She said.

Sally: Ugh we dunno what wander's planning yet.

Me: Because "wander" isn't done planning yet!

Wanderist: *facepalm* Blind as a Rookie.

Rookie: I"M BLIND??!!! *touches his face*

Wanderist: You're here? Didn't even know.

Part 68: (Dark) Wanderist VS. Dawn (pt.1)

Dawn was flying down toward the dark castle when she suddenly saw something flying toward her to her left. A convexity beam. She quickly flew up to avoid it. "It's been a while,well,not that long,but you get it,right,Dawn?" A voice said from the direction of the convexity blast. Dawn looked over to see a black dragon with a grey crystal and red wings and horns. "Nice to see you again, impostor." She said with a smirk. "Have you come to give my friend back? Or are you here to attempt to kill me?" Dawn asked, knowing the answer. "Well,not exactly here to kill you. Why kill a legendary dragon like yourself when we can just capture you and have ShadowWing's power to ourselves. With your dark side's power, we'll be able to win the war for sure." DW explained. Dawn glared at her. "Well then,I'm just going to have to free Wanderist and stop you then." She finally said. There was a silence between the two,then Dark Wanderist finally spoke. "You seem to underestimate me,Dawn. You don't really think you know how I fight because you've seen my alter-ego's lame skills, do you?" She said. Dawn charged at her growling. "You're the alter-ego! There's no way the real Wanderist would do this!" She yelled. Dark Wanderist sighed. "You just don't get it,do you?" She said,she then shot a powerful blast of convexity that Dawn dodged just before it hit her. "Tell me something,Dawn. Did it seem logical to you that a dragon born into an evil family would have a kind heart like "Wanderist" did." She asked. Dawn's eyes widen. "Huh? What do you mean?" She asked. DW;s eyes narrowed at the sight of Dawn's confusion. "I mean, all this time, the friend who you trusted so much was no more then a goodie little alter-ego. I am the real Wanderist!" She explained. Dawn angrily shot a beam of her light beam. "Quit your lying,alter-ego!" She yelled. "Hm...light breath,eh? Not bad. Still,don't think you're gonna beat an ultra light dragon with it." DW said, she then shot out a blast of ultra light,which intercepted the light breath,causing an explosion.

"What?!" Blizzard yelled, not wanting to believe what she had just heard. "Is that possible?!" Diamond yelled. Bubbles let out a low growl at Sandstorm. "Kid,you'd better not be lying." Bubbles said. "I'm not! I promise!" Sandstorm said. "Hm...everyone,it IS possible. It would seem logical. Problem is, that lake's too far off. The fury should be ready in like, five hours. It would take seven at our fastest speed to get to the edge of that huge forest." Mack explained. Rookie and Pablo's eyes both widen. "WHAT?!" Pablo yelled. "But Mack,there HAS to be a way to get there in time!" Rookie yelled. Mack shook his head. "I'm sorry,we're already too late to stop it..." He sighed. "Then what are we supposed to do,let Dawn go in there alone?!" Pablo shouted. "She's probably already in there by now. All we can do is trust Dawn to save Wanderist and that they both stop this." Sandstorm replied. The boys looked at each other,then sighed. "It's all up to you now,Dawn. Please get her back..." Rookie thought.
