Hollow Meadow

Little Talks

CAV walks over to the pile of shards and picks up one of them, unintentionally starting the battle. A few wolves slowly enter the area, growling at the players. CAV ignores the wolves and continues working on the shards lain before him, examining the pieces and attempting to put them together.

"CAV has the puzzle, focus on the wolves." Avatari draws her sword and stands guard near CAV.

"Wouldn't it be more efficient to have several people on the puzzle with a second team of guards?" Dmc suggests.

"Assistance from your plebeian minds would only slow me down." CAV replies as he places two of the pieces together and attempts to find a place for them on the wall.

"Someone's full of himself..." I-B mumbles to himself.

The wolves make the first move, with lunging for Angel. She blocks it with her sword, getting knocked down in the process; the blade caught between it's jaws, keeping it's mouth from reaching her. HDAZ embraces another of the wolves in a hug, immobilizing it, but at the same time oddly calming it.

"Don't mean to be rude, but do you mind hurrying up a bit? I'm not sure how much longer I can hold this thing off?" Angel huffs, continuing to wrestle with the wolf.

"I'm almost done putting it back together. It still needs solving after that." CAV puts another piece into place. Only a few more shards remain on the ground.

Cynderfan uses her sword rather like a rapier, attempting to fence with the wolf. The technique works rather well as she eventually is able to skewer it, killing the beast. "These things aren't that tough, I don't get why you're complaining." She rolls her eyes in a bored annoyance.

CAV inserts the last piece into the wall. "Oh fun, it's a slider puzzle."

"Why didn't you just put it together solved?!" I-B shouts as he starts to run from a wolf.

"Some of the pieces were still in the wall, it had to be put back a certain way." CAV says, though his mind remains focused on the puzzle, sliding the pieces about. It only takes him a matter of moments to slide the pieces around to form the picture of a bird with its wings spread.

The wall shakes rather violently before sliding apart to reveal a path to the next floor.

"Done." CAV smirks. He is the first to pass through.

"Forget the wolves, run for it!" Sky shouts, making a mad-dash for the wall. Several of the players follow suit.

I-B remains behind though, determined to take down the wolves, holding them off while the others escape. One sneaks up behind him though and lunges, landing on his back, sending I-B crashing to the ground. The wolves gang up on him, giving the others the opportunity to escape, with their sole focus on him, ripping him apart with their teeth as they attempt to devour him. His HP gauge hits zero before they can dig in too badly, causing his body to shatter to pieces.

Kamdet Town

Stay the Night

In their travels so far, floor 6 is one of the smallest floors the players have encountered. Floor 5 leads directly into the main town, with a short road heading out cut into a canyon. This road ends at a large and elegant door standing in the middle of the path. The players are together in the center of town, having just reached it from crossing over from the previous floor.

"I think it's rather obvious where we go next." Angel says.

"Don't you think we should take a moment to rest? We just got through the last challenge...." Sky asks.

"We should try to keep moving. Caution is good, but we need to get out of here as soon as we can." CAV replies.

"CAV's right, I'd rather not spend too long here. I don't know about you guys but I had a life out in the real world." Cynderfan agrees.

"Dudes, reality can be whatever you want it to be. Just let it be....." sP looks out at the horizon, half-zoned out.

"Is it even possible to get high in a virtual reality game?" EP whispers to HDAZ who simply shrugs in response.

Avatari starts walking through town, towards the door without saying a word or waiting for a decision. Wanting to make sure she doesn't get hurt, HDAZ follows, with the others ending up going after, whether each one wants or not.

Floor 6
Hall of Empty Melodies

Sugar Rush

The players walk straight through the canyon and right up to the door where they stop. The plush-like form of DummyZ is standing in front of the door; well not so much standing as he is dancing with headphones on and is eyes closed. The players watch him, some with open mouths as he makes a few moves that should only be done in your room with no one around.

Eventually during his odd dance, he opens and eye for a moment and notices the players. In his embarrassment in being caught, he quickly stops and stands still, throwing the headphones off of his head and to side, smiling awkwardly and pretending it didn't just happen.

"So, umm, hi." DummyZ's words somewhat trip over themselves as they come out of his mouth.

"What do we need to do to get the door open?" Avatari asks, cutting right to the point.

"Sing a song; if the door likes you rhymes it'll open. If it doesn't.... well... try to make sure it does."

"Anyone know any good songs?" Dmc looks to the others.

sP steps forward and clears his throat a bit before he begins. He attempts to perform some European throat singing. Cynderfan quickly walks over and slaps him across the face.

"NO! He said good! What is that even?!" Cynderfan storms off throwing her arms in the air, mumbling "Dumb***." that is still loud enough others can hear.

The walls of the canyon rumble around them causing some of the boulders to come loose and tumble down the sides of the walls. CAV hurriedly opens his inventory and selects a weapon from it, equipping it. This rapier seems be shinier than his usual sword. A boulder comes flying straight for sP. CAV rushes in and slices the boulder in half with the rapier, sending the halves crashing apart, both of which missing him and sP. The sword shatters afterwards, breaking apart into little pixel shards that dissipate into the air.

"How about we try this again?" CAV suggests.

Angel steps forward this time. "Sometimes I can hear you calling, telling me that I'm a fool."

Sky walks over to stand beside her and sings the next line. "Well, I can dream, I can dream, that we'll see a brighter day."

The two continue in unison. "And I can see in your eyes that we're through. And I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been in your way."

More of the players begin to join in the song. "And I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been in your way. Well, I can dream, I can dream, that we'll see a brighter day. And I can see in your eyes that we're through. And I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been in your way. And I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been in your way. Sometimes I can hear you calling, telling me that I'm a fool."

Dmc and CAV sing the next part. "And when I see you in the mornin', will you still want to be true? I can dream, I can dream, that we'll see a brighter day."

Everyone sings together, in perfect harmony. Their voices echoing through the canyon. "And I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been in your way. And I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been in your way. Well I can dream, I can dream, that we'll see a brighter day. And I can see in your eyes that we're through!"

DummyZ watches the door, smiling, having enjoyed the song. The door swings inward, and locks in place, allowing the players to pass through. Angel falls to her knees, relieved her choice in song selection was successful.

Great Temple

The players are taking a moment to relax and get to know the new town they are in for a bit. As they chatter idly amongst themselves, another of the "guide-pixies" as they refer them comes walking into town. This one resembles Ash Starkindle. As she walks around the town, looking about, she appears to be in a form of distress. She comes across Avatari first.

"Umm, I was supposed to guard this cave, but there's so many paths I got confused." Ash tells her.

"Ok.... I'll get the others, then we'll help." Avatari replies.

The players walk through the woods until they comes across a series of caverns lined next to each other; 5 in all. The caves look exactly the same in size and appear to go on for quite some time, with little to know lighting.

"The paths twist and turn and go all about. Some come together, some don't. In the end most lead to an exit, but one has a dead end. The dead leaves you trapped there. I forgot which is right and I need to get through." Ash explains.

"Are there any dangers?" Avatari asks.

"I can't remember..." Ash replies.

"Simple probability states that if we split up and try every path, we will make it through. With only one dead-end, only one group will have to double back, but will make it through. However, dividing up, there would be one group of only one." CAV says.

"Though trying each one as a group will take time and could lead to danger if we hit a wrong one." Angel replies.

"I say we try it." Avatari agrees.

"I don't want to split up!" Sky says.

"We need to. Whoever hits a dead end will just have to double back and be careful." Dmc says.

"It's ok Sky, I'll go with you." HDAZ smiles to her.

The players divide up, HDAZ with Sky, CAV and Dmc, Cynderfan and EP, Avatari with Angel, and finally sP accompanied with Ash. The groups each pick a cave and start heading down them.
