the first DI was very front heavy too though, there was only 2 waves for DI 1 , wave 1 was;

i think this time there'll be at least 3 waves, wave 2 is the "originals" in november, but we don't have a date for the 3 marvel villains, falcon or yondu, big hero 6 or for jasmine, i'm also expecting at least one other playset to be announced sometime too, but to be perfectly honest, if what they have announced so far is all there is i will be happy, and any more playsets, especially marvel ones would make me ecstatic.

on another side note, in 19 hours time my lounge room will be filled with the sounds of Rocket Raccoon and Star lord blasting away, the excitement is tangible xD

Ok so hold on, can someone who is getting the game tomorrow or today or whatever have a way of recording it? I'm allotted to the first 1 hour in the Avenger's Play Set and the first 30ish minutes of the Spiderman and Guardians Play Sets....Toy Box stuff I can watch for days.....

In case you're wondering why, its so that I don't spoil myself like I did with the Incredibles last year. I'm only allowed to watch anything that I have seen thus far

9:40 PM, I should have the game in about 11-12 hours, but probably can't play it as soon as I have it.

I decided to get all the launch figures because aside from the GoTG characters and Play Set pieces, which I all want, I'll only be missing Nick Fury, Iron Fist and Venom (and I'm getting the other launch characters in the CE at Christmas). I won't get any Power Discs (gonna look on eBay instead).

I think this supports my theory that we'll see more characters and playsets in 2015.

^ I'm still hoping for another Play Set, but I don't see them making a 2-character Play Set (although, we had Lone Ranger in the first game). I'd be ecstatic if they released more via DLC!

I haven't gotten to play the game yet, so I can't give info on that right now. I looked at all my figures, though. I just gotta say that the quality on these is gorgeous, possibly even better than the DI1 launch figures. Granted, I didn't actually open any yet, but had a look on the sides and front of them all and the only error that really bothers me is a little black speck on my Iron Fist, above his mask.

The Collector's Edition was surprisingly huge, but also surprisingly light. I expected it to be big, but not as big as it was.
The manager at my store is buying it just for the base, even though he has an XOne and no PS4.

Not a bad haul.

Considered the collector's edition but I couldnt justify the cost of the base after you subjected out the extra figures. Maybe if its still floating around after awhile and the price drops some.

Yes, the reveal of a Carol Danvers Team-Up disc helped knock me over the fence to bite on trying the game.

Well it was likely only a matter of time. I was going to get Trap Team, and pick this up later likely when it was dirt cheap. Given my stance on TT has kinda shifted though now, I'll be joining the party a bit earlier than expected.

If you really want the CE, then I don't think you should wait. Infinity isn't very popular where I live but all of them sold out. (I'm guessing because it's Marvel and comes with an awesome looking base, rather than people suddenly becoming interested in DI2 :P)

Sorry I haven't posted about the game, I wanted to deal with homework first, but I'll mess around with it for a couple of hours now. Got three Power Disc Packs for fun, by the way. One had the Yondu team-up disc and Stark Arc Reactor, the other had Odin's Horse and Spider-Sky the last one had Sorcerer Supreme and the Infinity Gauntlet.

By the way, I dare you to do a Google search for Spider-Sky. Unless you're arachniphobic, then don't do it.

I picked up 24 packs of disc got only got 7 doubles and I am 3 short of the set. I used the infinity gauntlet in the avengers play set and it was quite powerful.

Would I like the CE? Yes. Am I gonna lose sleep if I dont get it? Not really. Its cool and all, but the around $50-60 price tag that the base alone ends up having after subtracting the figure cost. Its a bit much for me. I'll survive if it flys off the shelves and I dont get it.

As for the first game, I didnt buy it, but I did have the chance to play it a bit. It had a few enjoyable moments in the playsets themselves but I quickly lost interest with the ToyBox aspect. All given it was mostly just Pixar and the Johnny Depp-love fest there wasnt much in terms of motivation for me to get anything else. I would have gotten The Incredibles and the Pirates playsets and basically nothing else. At least this time around I can have Marvel collectibles to decorate my shelf. The Marvel fan-boy that I am. The blind bags are also a major turn off for me. However I'm figuring that I'm gonna just focus on getting the team-ups and the events. The vehicles, costume variants, and world texture stuff really doesnt worry me. I figure I can trade or just buy those discs second hand online. I'd rather pay $20 for the disc I want than deal with getting 15 blind packs and still be S.O.L. on it., or being stuck with a bunch of common discs that no one is willing to trade anything for.

Given the whole trap thing with Skylanders right now, I'm a bit less cynical on the blind bags. I certainly dont like it still, but all things considered at least the discs working in DI3 is a bit more likely than the traps at this point. Of course if anyone can confirm that buying a unopen box of discs can pretty much guarantee a certain completion factor with minimal doubles, I'd likely be more willing to just drop money down for a full box and use the extras for trade and be okay with paying for the last 2-3 I need to get a full set.

yes that is defiantly do-able. When the first game came out they had the display in store that you could put the figures on and see them in the game, it also worked with the disks, so you could see what they were without needed to even buy them.
Unfortunatly the game pad and screen displays for DI aren't in my local stores here anymore, but i'm not sure about the US, so that might be an option too.

i didn't get any disk packs when i got the game today, i too plan on getting them either 2nd hand from ebgames, or getting the ones i want off ebay.

i also skipped the Collector's Edition, as nice as it is it didn't seem to be worth the $100ish that it works out costing after taking into account the starter pack and extra figures.

The game is ok I've only played a bit of the Avengers play set and there are still improvements to be made. They still didn't add a map for the play set and the collectibles throughout the playset are still a pain to find.

well that's sad. it seems the playsets are getting bashed hard.

Yeah, that really stinks...I was hoping they'd be better than 1.0 but what I've seen of the Avengers Play Set (The Whole Thing) it seems pretty bad and REALLY repetitive.....I mean seriously, you get 5-8 missions that are literally just the same thing....

Im most excited for the Toy Box anyway. Am I the only person thinking that with the new rpg elements, text bubbles, and unlockable characters, that one can recreate the Incredibles, Monsters, Lone Ranger, Cars, and maybe even Toy Story Play Sets IN 2.0? (See what I did with the 'in'?)

Can anyone with the game please take pictures at least of the skill trees? Or answer at least one of the following questions please?

2. Do the Incredibles's "super" abilities have to be unlocked from the skill tree or do you have access to them from the spot?
3. Is Dash easier to control while running super fast?
4. Is Ms. Incredible's reach longer or the same length as before? (Same question for Anna)
5. Which 1.0 Characters get which abilities? (i.e. I know Sulley gets a super jump)
6. How long does it take the builders to actually build something?
7. How exactly do the brushes work? (Is it like flying around in Spark Mode)
8. How are The Lone Ranger and Tonto different from one another? (This kinda looks back at number 1)
9. Can you tell us (or take a picture) of the abilities that have the yellow thingies around them? (I think they're called like corals or something....The yellow outlined skill tree parts.)
10. Are there random chests that show up in the toybox for the 2.0 Disney characters?
11. How exactly does the toy store look like? (either describe or take a picture please?)
12. How do interiors work (nothing specific just the general idea i.e. how does Iron Man unlock the Iron Man and War Machine displays?)
And last but not least, the lucky number 13
13. If they are supposedly no longer supported, do you not get the goo grower or shrinker items when you place down the Toy Story in Space Play Set piece?

You can access the skill tree right away, but the Original characters have smaller skill trees than the new ones. I believe there are no random chests any more. The toy store is pretty much just a list. Putting the original playset pieces on unlocks all items from that playset in the toybox, but I can't remember if you have to purchase them. This is all I know from what I've played.

well it looks like i'll be sticking to the toy box. i'll still buy the other playset packs, but just to enjoy the new toys and figures.

Agreed (although I'd argue DI probably less so, since it's not nearly as much a step backwards and still adds to the Toy Box- it's just that some of the additions felt underwhelming compared to what I expected).

And actually, its just the Play Sets that have been bashed, not the whole game. Get your facts right....Besides, 90% of reviews are giving 2.0 higher than 7/10 or 3/5 (With the occasionally party-pooper)

Yeah me too mostly. I will however see what the Cross-Over character missions are.... (You really only need Iron Man, Nova, Hulk, and Rocket)

But when I get the game on friday, I will spend the rest of the day friday deciding Skill Tree Paths and leveling to 20 my 1.0 characters (I seriously only have 10)

I might get 2.0 today.
