"It's LILA." Lila said, somewhat irritated. "And I'm not going to let you hurt me or my friends."

Matilda snarled.
"Whoever said it was your territory? Wolves can pass through if they want."

Scott stepped forward and said, "Look, we don't want any trouble." "We're just out traveling."

Delgato padded up beside Scott and nodded.
"He's right."

"If you really want us to leave, we'll leave." Lila said.

Alyx nods in agreement with Lila.

The bird scoffed.
"Why, I can't do that to some little strays, now, can I? Go ahead, make my day. Heh...you'd have been a tasty little Lila." And with that, he ran into the bushes, rising a moment later into the sky, to rest above a mountain. His lookout.

Matilda growled.
"I don't like that bird."

Kargolo could just about hear the words being carried by the wind. He raised his neck to let out a deafening screech, then closed his eyes and beak, scurried off into a nearby cave.
"I don't like those dogs."

Matilda looked at Scott.
"Should we turn around, or head back the way we came? Who knows if that eagle will come back."

He crept into the cave. He smelt some meat, but he couldn't classify it. Then he smelt another creature, and it had hidden the meat in the cave.
"Where are you, my juiciness....?"

"We should probably turn around." Scott said. "If that bird lives in the jungle, then there are probably worse dangers in there than him."

A pair of evil eyes were lit at the end of the cave. Kargolo froze.
"Eh-heheh...Uh oh." And with that, a massive roar made his feathers fly. "Time to rustle in the wind!" He cried, and leapt out of the cave, fleeing into the air. He ran through the air, flying past the small wolf pack, until he decided to land next to them.
"Eheheh...sorry about me earlier...just a little tense...we don't get many visitors here...ta'name's Kargolo, I'm a Kroba. Eagle ancestry. Pleasure's all mine...Heheh...Yeah...sorry..." He giggled, still a bit tense and petrified.

Lila looked at him strangely, and said, "My name's Lila, and this is Scott, Matilda, Alyx and Delgato."

"Greetings.'' The kroba said. He plucked a fly from the air and scoffed it.

"So what made you decide to come back?" Lila said. "I mean, I'm just a cheetah, Scott and Matilda are just wolves, and Alyx and Delgato are jut wild dogs." "And just thirty seconds ago, you tried to eat me."

"Yes, yes. I noticed. But sometimes small animals can be good friends to birds. Don't mind if I..uh...'hang' with you, do ya? I mean...that jungle's spooky. There's bad stuff in there. Not that I'm scared or anything! I mean, how could I be scared!?" He looked to the sky triumphantly.

Lila rolled her eyes, but said, "Fine, but you have to promise not to eat anyone."

Matilda nodded.
"If you eat my cousins or anyone else I'll rip you to shreds before you can even blink." She growls.

The four-legged eagle nodded his broad neck.
"You got yerself a deal. And I don't blink, love. I can't. Kroba have no eye-lids. They only have sleepers, meaning I can shut me eyes t' go to sleep." The eagle said smartly. His eyes flashed a light green. He continued to look at the sky.

Matilda gave a low growl, and Delgato got between the two.
"That's enough, cousin." He growls.

He looked back down at the mix of creatures.
"What be our headin'?" He asked Delgato.

Scott turned to Matilda. "Should we go to the savannah, the mountains?"

The eagle-mutant turned to Scott. In his opinion, this was a strange 'herd'. Why the large mix? A cheetah, wolves, dogs? A cat and dogs? Wow, that was weird. Maybe this group would end better dead. Maybe he'd finish them when they least expected...

Lila looked around a bit, a little unsettled. She didn't know what this bird wanted, but she was sure it wasn't good.

Matilda glared at her cousin, then at Kargolo. She finally turned to Scott and sighed.
"The savannah sounds fine."

"I guess we're off, then." Scott said, turning and walking off, Lila right behind him.

Alyx followed with Delgato, and Matilda hung back as usual, her head looking down.

Kargolo trotted along behind them. He would try to get their trust first, before he struck.

Matilda looked at Kargolo, then looked back down at the ground with a sigh.

Kargolo's eyes drifted towards Matilda, before he changed direction. He looked up towards the jungle. He could hear something, and he guessed the others hadn't heard it, yet. He stood facing the jungle. He cantered towards it, and leapt onto a tree. The tree came slashing down, and out of it fell a large squirrel. He skewered it with his talons, then strode towards the group.
"Look what I got!" He squawked. He laid it in front of them. "Who's hungry, then?"

Alyx looked at Lila.

Delgato noticed Matilda sitting a distance from the group and he padded to her.
"What's seems to be the problem, cousin? You look like a lonely little pup just trailing behind a pack." he says, his voice playful.

Matilda looked at him.
"That's sure what I feel like."

Kargolo stared at Matilda. He then looked back down at the food. He shrugged, then picked up the dead squirrel and gave it to Matilda.
"Eat up." He said swiftly, then walked back to the rest of the group.

Matilda looked at Kargolo. She was a bit on edge about eating the squirrel, but Delgato showed her it was fine.

The huge eagle sat with the others. He occasionally looked up from eating a rabbit, but other than that he was trying to fit in.

Scott walked over and sat beside Matilda, watching Kargolo suspiciously. He nudged Matilda gently and asked, "Hey, are you alright?"

Lila looked back at Alyx. "Can we trust him?" She asked, gesturing to Kargolo.

Alyx shook her head.
"I wish I could, but Matilda's sixth sense doesn't lie. I'm not going to trust him."

Matilda lifted her head to look at Scott. She looks away.
"It's nothing."

Delgato laughs softly and looks at Scott.
"She feels like a small pathetic pup trailing behind a pack."

Scott chuckled and turned to Matilda again. "Come on, what's bothering you?" He asked.

Matilda looked at Scott.
"Delgato's right. That's what's bothering me."

Scott nodded and said, "Come on, I know what'll make you feel better."

Matilda looked at him and nodded.
"Alright."

Scott grinned and said, "Lila, I'll need a boost." Lila nodded and followed Scott to the edge of the jungle. Lila braced herself next to a tree and asked, "Ready?" Scott nodded, got a running start, jumped onto Lila's back, then immediately jumped again, dug his claws into the bark of the tree, then clawed his way up. When he got to a sturdy branch, he called, "Come on, Matilda!"

Matilda looked at him, but made a strong leap to climb up beside him.

The eagle creature watched all of this happen. He plucked one of his feathers and used it to scrape some meat off of his claws.

Delgato watched Scott and Matilda with a smile.
"He always makes her happy." he growled.

He clawed his way over to the rest of the group.
"S'appenin'?" He asked, curious.

Delgato looked at Kargolo and shrugged.
"Don't know what Scott's showing Matilda, but I hope he does know she can climb a tree pretty fast."

"Heh, well, she's got good agility and speed. Anyone hungry? I can find s'more food for ya." The bird asked.

Delgato shook his head.
"You can rest. Everyone is perfectly capable of hunting."

"Okay, I suppose." He crawled back towards their camp and curled around a small tree. His sleepers fell over his eyes.
