Here's an interesting question, and it's quite random: will Hunters be able to post polls? Currently, dark is the only user with the power to post polls on the site (I think), which irks me, because I like having polls (I run the Best Pokemon Ever tournament on another forum, which is quite enjoyable to do) and I think some boards could benefit from them. >.>

I'm not really sure what I would personally use polls for if just mods could make them, but the ability for any user to make polls is currently on the 'approved' list in the suggestions thread - maybe it'll become available to all users soon anyway.

Well, for example, I'd like to have some non-Skylander Spyro polls in the General board... such as continuing the "Favorite Level" polls dark did for Spyro 1. <.<;

Hi,

Those that frequent the skylanders portion of the site may know me. To those that do not frequent that portion, Hi again. I was selected as a mod helping in the skylanders section and I look forward to being able to help organize that section making it a little easier to find information. If anyone has any suggestions that they feel would help over this section feel free to share.

There were almost 200 applicants and only 10 candidates chosen. There is no shame in not being selected. 95% of applicants were not selected. My guess is dark52 probably had specific traits he was looking for. To try to guess what these traits are would be to try to decipher the reasoning of the oracle in level 13 of Skylanders:Giants. (I am guessing I was selected because I threatened to destroy Europe if I was not). I would not lament for those that did not become selected because other opportunities will come and you will have the benefit of having seen the positive and negatives of the first round of mods on these boards. (I personally wish I had that experience).

Instead of bickering over traits certain posters possess and general argument, our best effort is to welcome the new mods and help create the atmosphere we want from this site. The general populace asked dark for mods for a reason. Now that they are impending there is some moral duty to help support it to make sure it is as positive an experience as we all hope it can be.

I personally hope I can do my part in making this a more pleasant experience,

You do realise that no one can tell who is and isn't a mod. You didn't exactly make it obvious. In the middle of people saying "yeah, I got a PM" there was no way of knowing if you were being serious or not.

I'd didn't really get the choices at first, but now I realize I don't look at the Skylanders at all. I suppose Dark chose those who could handle the Skylanders... Crowd.

The other factor I would advise people to consider is that only 3 out of a possible ten candidates have come forward. Its hard to see how the whole puzzle dark is trying to form looks like when all you have is pieces of sky.

Give it a little time to reveal itself.

I'd also advise against using sarcasm and basically other innuendos that could be potentially inflammatory, unless you really make it obvious. For example, if you do use sarcasm, put an emoticon to offset a statement that could be otherwise taken antagonistically. This goes for the users as well. Do the mods a favor and reduce the ambiguity in what you say. Sarcasm is just one of those things that can be used effectively or can blur the lines of trolling.
