Can you tell what the Master Eon Guide book is like, and the Tech and Magic book, crystal? Do they show details of the Skylanders and other characters like the Sticker Book?

master eon official guide:
this is just like a guide to the game, but smaller and looks nice. every page that is about a certain character has their upgrades too. it also describes the npc characters. it comes with a code for a penguin and tells you just about what everything is. (even the plot) bios a bit different again but they're extremely small.

magic and tech:
just like the stickerbook, just smaller and no stickers. the bios are different too. but the bios are smaller and just to the point and callled fact files. and some extra stuff like heroic challenges for tech and magic skylanders and it's got some fct files about some magic and tech related npc's too (and levels).

I have a small and feeble collection of six Skylanders. I started off with Spyro, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Boomer, Voodood, and Prism Break.

First I traded my cousin Boomer for Eruptor. Then he wanted Eruptor back so I traded him Eruptor for Sonic Boom. I also traded my Voodood for his Wrecking Ball. His Trigger Happy broke, so now I have a major bargaining piece with him.

I am also looking at getting Ignitor.

@DluA: Wow, congratulations! It looks like you are well on your way to having the true DEFINITIVE Skylanders collection. If I were GM78, I'd be pretty envious right about now since he had the fullest collection up to this point. What do you have left that you're missing on your list? I'd assume a sealed E3 2011 Spyro and Gill Grunt.

I think i read GM78 turned down an opportunity to buy an E3 Trigg, so he had his chance. I really don't worry about him and his collection. I know of collectors who don't use this forum and put his collection to shame...

If you're going for both single and double hook characters, does that mean you're going for the first-run packaging with reverse cards as well? The way the card is arranged in your Trigger Happy's package reminded me about those.

First run packaging with reverse cards? I believe you are referring to what i have pictured above. The 2011 E3's were the VERY first Skylanders promoted in their unique packaging. No UPC, no printing on the back of the packaging, no hook, inverted character card, base not secured within clear blister. A judge that was there estimates that ONLY 600 of these were given out.. approximately 200 each of Spyro, Gill & Trigg. Now the number of them that are still sealed, who knows? My guess... less than half given out.

Actually, I'm referring to an odd first few shipments of Skylanders where the trading card, which usually has the character art facing out, had the Skylanders logo facing out instead. In subsequent shipments, the card has always been facing the way that we see it today; character out.

Oh ok, now i gotcha. Very cool SS! Did you find it at a store or eBay? I've been kind of selective on which packaging errors and card errors i go after. Sometimes just NOT willing to pay the asking price. I've posted this before in another topic, but generally i look for one of a kinds like this:

I found it, and a Drobot like that, at Target close to the launch of the game. They were a couple of our first boxed collection figures. He and Drobot are all we've got, but I recall a picture of a whole rack at TRU with nothing but figures packaged like that. I'll see if I can find it.

They were really common when the game first came out. All but nonexistent now.

Nice! Yeah, saw a few of those on eBay, just didn't want to pay the price! Good for you though, its nice to have unusual and rare items like that in a collection.

Are you finished till Giants or still have a list?

We're working on variants for now. The three convention exclusives are done, contemplating crystals. Piecing them together when and if we can find them at a reasonable price, waiting for Giants to come out.

Well, you definitely got one of the hardest to get out of the way, anything else is pretty much child's play in comparison. As for me, I'm just waiting on the Sidekicks at this point. I'd never be able to find any of the super special variant figures in store or for what I think would be a reasonable price online, so I'm just giving up on owning them...well, never actually planned on getting them really...just if I happened to find one. So far, I have all the normal figures, ds, legendary, VV, FSS, and all four of the US retail exclusive variants. Still considering getting mass retail Ignitor, but every one I've come across looks terribly molded/painted, so I've been putting off getting him...it's just so disappointing...the lack of care that goes into these new figures...

Yeah I hear you on the paint jobs lately, and i do think Ignitor looked better in the first release. My son's favorite actually. I think that's why the repaints on eBay do quite well... people want better looking figures...

I have considerably FEWER Skylanders since my last post in this thread. I've given away a lot of my Skylanders to friends who wanted certain characters more than I did. There was a point where all I needed to get all 32 was Camo, Cynder, and Wham-Shell, and once I found Wham-Shell, (The one I wanted the most from the beginning) I didn't care about many of the other characters. So now I only have 12 Skylanders, and here they are.



I never use Stump Smash, Whirlwind, Drobot, or Gil-Grunt, but I kept them anyways since they were some of the first characters I bought.

I mainly just play as Wham-Shell now, and basically consider him the main character of Skylanders. Fighting Kaos with only Wham-Shell with no Heroic challenges or hats really makes Kaos feel like a challenging final boss, which isn't something I can say with many characters, so I overall really like the difficulty curve the game has when only playing as Wham-Shell. If anyone else wants to try the same thing, I strongly suggest you choose the Commander Crab Upgrade path (starfish) so you can actually manage to beat Kaos. It's nearly impossible on the other path with no hats or heroic challenges.

Other then that I need to complete my collection are

It isnt silver xD It was a failed attempt at a Glow In The Dark. I got acrylic paints and it had glow-in-the-dark paint and I had used the white instead :/

I did indeed turn down the E3 Trigg - not once or twice... but 3 times.

There are a number of reasons behind this.

1: It looks like *** in packaging. These had the potential to look really really awesome. However, it's like they just threw them in a box to slosh around. These would look horrendous on my wall, and it was hard enough to get my sealed Sidekicks to face the front - while hanging - on my wall, along with my open Sidekicks.

2: Spyro and Gill have never shown up as often - if ever - as Trigg has. Infact, I remember seeing a Youtube video before the launch of the first game, where one dude tears his Gill Grunt single from E3 open and does a small video review of the figure. That's one less sealed E3 Gill Grunt in the world. Honestly, I've never seen Spyro on Ebay at all.

3: I was only wanting these, due to the fact that it would be Gill, Trigg, and Spyro in single pack form. Thankfully, Giants rectified that issue, by giving us series 2 Trigg, Gill, and Spyro, which will surely be in single packs. As long as I have those 3 characters in a single pack - be it series 1 or 2 - that's enough to make me happy.

Grats on getting one, however. I've had 3 times to buy the E3 Trigg, and each time I haven't hesistated on the decision to pass, and I won't a 4th time, even if it involved getting all 3. I am very particular about how I want my wall to look. If my characters can't be facing in the direction of those looking at them, and not flush with the packaging (ie in place), it would simply make my wall look like ***.

However, DIuA, I wouldn't mind seeing a link to these collections that put mine to shame. I love seeing other peoples' Skylanders collections. If there is a collecting site I don't know of, by all means, please share it with us so we can take in the awesomeness of other collections.

If you don't mind me asking, what were the sellers asking prices on the three that you passed up? I'm not looking to sell mine at all, but am always interested in what other people value Skylanders at. In no way am I bragging or trying to one up people, but someone actually offered me $1000 for mine.

I definitely respect your attention to detail and reasoning for why you collect what you collect. I think we all do that to some degree.

For me I love the chase, and collecting these brings about a bond and lasting memories with my children and friends that otherwise wouldn't be the same.

With regard to other's collections. That is up to people to post pictures if they desire to. I'm currently unaware of an alternate site, BUT there is a collector's site coming prior to Giants that I will be affiliated with, and I think ALOT of people from this forum will definitely be excited about it. I'll post more on that as the time nears...

I, too, congratulate you on your collection to this point. I really believe it has inspired others to follow suit.

One was willing to sell Trigg to me for 30 bucks, plus 10 shipping. However, that was from a direct source. The 3 I was alerted to on Ebay, never pushed 100 bucks. The highest I saw an E3 Trigg go for, was 50-60 (been awhile but wasn't over 60).

If someone offered you a thousand for it, I would have taken it, honestly. I simply can't stand behind the E3 2011 Skylanders, because of the god awful way they were packaged. That's just me, though. Had I bought one of those Triggs, and someone offered me 1000, I would have taken it in a snap, due to my lack of care for the E3 2011 Skylanders. It's sad, really. Had they been secured inside the packaging, I would have hunted for these day and night until I had them.

Thanks for the compliment on my collection. If it gets others supporting Skylanders, then it wasn't for naught.

I just bought another stealth elf for my custom!

All I'm missing right now is Boomer, Prism Break, Voodood and Zap, but I've also been working on a small wall display of my favourite character from each element.





This is a little misleading though because the Camo 3 pack and Wham-Shell actually aren't sealed. I kept the opened packaging for them, and simply put them back in for this photo. In reality I need another Camo three pack and a Wham-Shell to complete my wall. Once Giants comes out, I intend to move this display over to the left side of the wall to make room for sealed versions of Ninjini, EyeBrawl, Sprocket, Shroom Boom, Jet-Vac, Chill, Crusher, and Hot Head.
