Anyanca and Xerxes rushed towards the young ones. the seven dragons collided head-on. the young dragons were knocked backwards. they got up quickly, and stood strong together. with every elemental attack that was thrown at them, Goldheart protected them with his shield. because of that, the foe saw him as a threat. they narrowed thier eyes, and focused on the gold dragon. in a cloud of shadow, Xerxes disappeared. then as the young ones searched for him, Anya blasted them with a gust of wind, seperating them. they all saved themselves with thier wings, except for Goldheart.

"gotcha!" Xerxes chuckled, revealing himself. the others looked, and gasped. thier friend had been captured. they rushed to save him, but then...
"not so fast!" thier enemy held a dagger to Goldheart's throat.
"come any closer, and i cut him open like a bass!" he threatened. the others froze in thier places. the young ones shared a glance, and nodded slowly. a plan was forming. then in a cloud of shadow, Ironstone disappeared. Xerxes seemed to expect that, though. he whirled around, prepared to attack something behind him. but nothing was there.

"boo!" Ironstone yelled from behind Anyanca. she whirled around to attack, but when she did, no one was there. she and Xerxes looked in all directions. Ironstone appeared and reappeared, distracting Anyanca and Xerxes. then as they looked in all directions, Flare and Inferno hit Anyanca with fire.

"Anya!" Xerxes rushed to her aid.

"not so fast!" Artica came out of nowhere, and froze him in place.
"i'll hold that for you." she said, taking the dagger. then as Ironstone and Inferno kept Anyanca busy, Flare carefully melted the ice on Goldheart. once he was free, he flew away from Xerxes. soon, Xerxes broke free of his icy prison. he then whacked the girls with is tail. within moments, he was being burned from behind. he whirled around to see an angry fire dragon defending the girls. he soon countered with shadowfire. then he was hit with acid from behind. he whirled around once more to see Ironstone attacking him. the girls then flew after Anyanca. Anya blew them away with wind, and then did the same with the boys. the youngs ones seperated, and then began darting in all directions. Xerxes and Anyanca tried thier best to hit them. and then, they got lucky. Goldheart was slashed in the stomach by Xerxes's tail. once he was wounded, he was easy prey for the adult male. Xerxes attacked him fiercly, and then made a finishing blow with his tail. the injured gold dragon plummeted to the ground.

"Goldheart!" Ironstone rushed to his aid with the others following soon after. however, this turned our to be a mistake. Xerxes grabbed Ironstone, while Anyanca grabbed Inferno. with bites, slashes, hits, and elemental attacks, the young males soon joined thier friend. then Xerxes and Anyanca turned on the remaining two, Flare and Artica. the girls gazed downward at thier fallen friends.

"Inferno!"

"Goldheart, Ironstone!" the girls cried out, afraid that thier friends were dead. Xerxes and Anyanca laughed evily. the girls glared at them. then they began to glow with an angery rage. Flare glowed red, Artica glowed blue. then they both growled in anger.

"Flare......" Artica muttered, turning to her sister. Flare looked back at her. "my power doesn't allow me to cause harm to others like a normal fury." she explained.

"but i haven't even used my power. i can't do this alone."

"but i don't know how to help you." she shrugged. then the sisters took each others paw, not knowing what else to do. then Flare gasped. she felt a new surge of power go through her body.

"i think i do....." she breathed. ".....Artica, you're giving me more strenght.......i may have to deal out all the actual damage, but you can be my power source......i can channel your power to increase my own.......and together......we'll take them out...." she said with a grin.

"knock 'em dead, sis." Artica grinned back, nodding. Flare nodded. then they turned towards the enemy, holding each other's paw. as the girls glowed, flames englufed Anyanca and Xerxes. rocks pounded them from all directions. lightning zapped them from the sky. waves of high-pitched sound raced towards them. acid rain fell on them. a tornado trapped them inside it's vortex. then it all disappeared in a cloud of darkness. then a blizzard formed, and everything around the girls froze. then a wave of force shot out from the girls. it destroyed everything it touched, turning it to dust. after that, the girls stopped glowing. exhausted, and drained of thier power, they plummeted to the ground.

wow.... wonder what happens next.

Flare lay motionless on a bed made of straw in a small room. she grunted and groaned as she started to open her eyes.
"she's waking up!" a voice whispered. it sounded like an adult male.
"is she ok?" another asked. it was a young, female voice.
"she should be fine. Flare? Flare? can you hear me?" the first voice said.
"................wha...........?" the young dragon managed to mutter as her eyes opened slightly.
"how are you feeling?" a large figure stood over her. Flare opened her eyes wider, and looked up at the figure.
"...........Goldscale.........? w--where--where am i.....?"
"don't worry, you're safe here." he said.
".......where is here exactly.....?"
"my home. you do remember it, don't you?" a female voice said. Flare looked over.
"...oh, yes, Nightiron......but how.......? how did i get here......?"
"you were brought here, young one. we brought you here. we've been watching over each other since the battle." Goldscale explained. "you were so weak, you fainted instantly. you had no serious wounds, and seem to be fine now. however, you may possess no powers for a time."
"what happened.....? is everyone ok....?"
"we're all fine. surprisingly, i woke up first. well, i guess it's not that shocking. i had no wounds." Artica spoke up. "i woke up the others. we were all weak and hurt at first. but Goldscale and Goldrune managed to heal each other and us. you're just the last to wake up. guess you really gave it all you got, huh?"
"same old Artica....." Flare smiled.
"what's that supposed to be?" she snorted.
"what do you think it means?" Inferno chuckled, sitting beside her.
"do you want to get slapped?" Artica smirked.
"that depends on who's slapping me." he smiled at her.
"oh, get a room you two!" Ironstone spoke up, sounding a tad disgusted by them.
"come on, lighten up, guys! evil is defeated, we're all ok, the world is saved, we got a place to stay now, what more could we ask for?" Goldheart smiled.
"seperate rooms would be nice." Ironstone answered.
"well, you can have your very own room outside in the cold." Artica teased.
"i have my own room, thank you very much." he replied.
"watch your mouth, Ironstone, or you'll get it frozen shut." Inferno chuckled.
"like i'm scared of her."
"you better be if you know what's good for you." Artica sneered.
"trust me, Ironstone. you don't want to mess with her." Flare added.
"and you should know, eh, sis?" she grinned.
"hey, if anyone should know that, it should be Inferno, ok." Flare chuckled lightly.
"i heard that!" he laughed. "but now she's on my side." he grinned, wrapping a wing around her.
"for how long?" Goldheart joked. Ironstone and Flare laughed. even Goldscale, Goldrune, and Nightiron chuckled a bit.
"hey, don't make me turn you all into ice sculptures. nobody, and i mean nobody, touches the fire dragon." Artica said, in a threatening tone. the others were silent. "relax guys, i was joking!" she grinned. then they started laughing.
"what a relief!" Goldheart joked.
"yeah, i was worried that an ice dragon would be after us!" Ironstone teased.
"hey, no mocking my little ice dragon, or i'll burn ya." Inferno grinned. then he chuckled, and so did the others.
"all right everyone, i think it's about time we turned in." Goldscale spoke up.
"aw, come on!" the young dragons moaned.
"now, now, listen to your elders. it's bed time." Goldrune said.
"go on now. off to bed." Nightiron added. then everyone headed to thier bedrooms. Flare and Artica shared a room. Inferno, Goldheart, and Ironstone shared a room. and Goldscale, Goldrune, and Nightiron shared a room. once everyone was comfortable, they fell asleep.

wait what? anayca and Xeres are gone?

maybe. maybe not. that's just what they think. there has been no proof. yet.

hmm well well they better get ready. it shall be a great fight.

ok, i know it's short, i apoligize. but i think it's pretty good. kind of reveals a little something. anyway, here.

back where the mountain once stood and a battle once took place, all seemed quiet. not much remained except for piles of rocks and debris. the place seemed dead. and it seemed as though the enemy had been defeated. then suddenly, the rocks started to move. a faint groaning sound could be heard as rocks and debris were pushed aside.

"...........gah........!" a female voice gasped, taking a deep breath. then a figure emerged from the pile of debris.
"...........i..........i am.......alive........" she said, faintly, exhausted. her body was covered in bruises, cuts, and open wounds with blood oozing out. her wings were torn, and she looked pitiful.
"............but..........how..........?" she questioned. she then turned to the rock pile, and started digging through it. she soon found the body of an adult male dragon. it lay motionless under the rocks. she dug more, revealing the whole body. it still did not move.
"............no..............no...........not again...........Xerxes...........my dear brother.........i have failed you.........." the female sighed. she turned away from the debris. she took a few steps, and collapsed. she moaned as she raised her head.
"...............it is over............i am too weak..........to go on............but i must.........for my brother.........for Xerxes............i must regain my strenght..........form a new army..........and bring him back once more..........and together..........we shall try again..........and each time........we will become stronger.........we will be wiser.........and one day..........we shall succeed in our plan..............." she muttered with a look of determination. she then forced herself to her feet. she grunted and groaned as she slowly walked off into the distance.

well, we can't let her live, now can we? the problem is, they think she's dead. anyway, moving on. let's see how the good guys are doing.

the next morning, everyone awoke to a bright, sunny day. Goldrune prepared a nice breakfeast for the group, cooked chicken. the dragons gobbled it down with appriciation. however, two memebers of the group were missing.
"has anyone seen Inferno and Artica this morning?" Goldrune asked.
"they're probally in thier room, sleeping in." Flare grinned.
"yeah, or K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Ironstone teased.
"Ironstone, there will be no joking around at the breakfeast table! now eat your chicken!" Nightiron said, sternly.
"yes, Mom." he muttered, lowering his head to eat.
"i can go check on them." Goldheart offered.
"no, let them sleep. we could all use some rest and relaxation." Goldscale said.
"all right, that's enough talk. i didn't go to all that trouble of cooking a meal if no one's going to bother eating it." Goldrune said. then the group of dragons stopped talking, and finished thier meal.
meanwhile.....
"it's so nice out here...... " a young female sighed.
"yeah, we're finally alone....." a male smiled. they were walking along the beach.
"Inferno....."
"yes, Artica?"
"you never told me....."
"i never told you what?"
"where you live......like, where you came from.....who your parents are.....that sort of thing.....i mean, you know my family, but i don't know anything about yours....."
"well, uh......it's probally best that you don't know....." he lowered his voice, and looked away.
"why? are they bad parents? did something happen to them? are you a loner?" she asked, curiously.
"they're not nessecerily bad parents......they're just......odd....."
"odd? odd, how?"
"uh........crazy odd....."
"crazy? like mad?"
"i don't know......they're just......diffrent....."
"how so?" she asked. he sighed. "well, if you can't answer, why don't you show me?"
"no!" he turned his head sharply. "i mean, you don't want to do that......trust me....."
"why not? they can't be that bad."
"you don't know them like i do....."
"which is why i'm asking. Inferno, i want to know what your family is like. i want to know where you were, what you were doing.....before you met me..."
"but that doesn't matter. i mean, you're what's important to me. i ran away from my family. and i have no intention of going back, especially with you."
"why? what's so bad about them? and why especially with me?"
"look.....there's just......something about them......."
"meaning...?"
"meaning i don't want you near them.....it's bad enough i had to live with them.....i don't want you to meet them....."
"Inferno, i insist. i'm telling you to introduce me. you know i won't give in." she said. he hesistated to respond. "don't make me beat a yes out of you. i can be very persuasive." she grinned. he sighed.
"all right. you win. i'll introduce you. but, you have to let me do all the talking. understood?" he asked. he sounded serious.
"i don't understand, but fine. so, let's go already." she insisted. Inferno sighed, and with a nod of his head, he started to walk away. he headed towards the forrest with Artica beside him.

Hmm ok? wonder whats so different with their parents but cool!!

Inferno and Artica walked through the forrest. they were near Artica's old home. as they walked, they eventually passed the cave she and Flare hid in to avoid a dreadwing.
"wow. i haven't been in this forrest for a while..." she said, looking around.
"neither have i. we're getting close now." he said. they continued walking. then they heard hurried footsteps.
"what's that?" Artica looked around.
"oh, no......" Inferno muttered.
"what? what is it? is something after us?"
"not you, just me....." he sighed. he then spotted a small figure rushing towards them.
"Innnnnnnnfeeeeeernoooooo!" a young female voice cried out. then within moments, someone tackled Inferno, and pinned him to the ground. Artica snorted with a jealous expression as a young dragoness stood on top of Inferno. "where have you been?! i've been looking all over for you!" she said. Artica eyed this female. her scales were a bright, sunshine yellow. her belly and inside wings were a light yellow-orange. her eyes were a bright orange. she had six yellow-orange horns. her tail-end was shaped like an arrow, and colored yellow-orange. Inferno lifted his head, and looked at her.
"uh, Venus, hello..... mind getting off me, please?" he asked.
"oh, sorry. i'm just really happy to see you." she smiled at him after getting off. he got up, and looked at her. then he turned his gaze to the jealous ice dragon.
"right. uh, listen--"
"oh! i'm so sorry, i didn't even see you standing there! hi! i'm Venus!" she said to Artica.
"Venus....." she muttered, eyeing her like a vulture. "well, nice to meet you. i'm Artica." her eyes narrowed.
"nice to meet you too. i'm Inferno's--"
"friend. she's just a friend." Inferno interrupted. he then chuckled nervously.
"silly Inferno! we're more than that!" she giggled. Artica gave him a look.
"uh, Venus, could i have a moment alone, please?" he asked her.
"why? we need to get you home. you're parents have been worried sick."
"i know. i just need to talk to my friend. we'll catch up."
"we?" Venus asked, curiously.
"uh, yeah. she's coming too. i was going to introduce her to my parents."
"why? you never wanted any of your friends to meet them."
"well, this is diffrent. she asked to meet them."
"why? and why would you cave in? what have you been up to?" she asked. Inferno hesistated to answer.
"ok, that's enough questions. i think it's time for you to go now." Artica said, stepping in between them.
"why? if you ask me, you're the one that should leave."
"but i didn't ask you, Venus." Artica said, grinding her teeth as she spoke her name. "i'm telling you to go."
"you're not the boss of me." Venus took a step forward, looking Artica straight in the eyes.
"well, as Inferno's girlfriend, i think i do have a right to get you to back off." Artica glared.
"girlfriend?" Venus stood in shock. her eyes widened, and blinked a couple of times. she then glanced back and forth between them. "but you can't be." she finally spoke.
"and why not?"
"because....... he can't date an ice dragon."
"excuse me?" Artica asked surprised, in an angry tone. then she turned to Inferno. "Inferno, what is she talking about?" she asked. Inferno chuckled nervously, and hesistated to answer.

uh oh inferno has some explaining to do.

yeah. he better be careful about what he says if he wants to avoid getting deep into trouble.

yeah thats for sure. wonder what happens next hmm well artica will probably be mad.

i've been good. Thanksgiving break starts after this week is over, so i'm happy about that.
anyway, more story. sorry that it's kinda short, but it is sweet.

"well? Inferno, you got some explaining to do, so you better start right now." Artica said in an angry tone.
"well, um......" he said, nervously. he turned to Venus. "...could you give us a minute..?" he asked.
"of course." Venus cracked a smile before walking off.
"ok, now start." Artica said, showing no signs of pateince.
"ok, um, here goes.......... what Venus says is true....... i'm actually not allowed to date ice dragons......."
"what? are you kidding me? why? who says you can't?"
"my parents....... and i'm serious........ see, this is what i was talking about......." he said. then there was a moment of silence. ".......they hate ice dragons........" he muttered.
"what? they hate........ what the heck is their problem?! what's wrong with ice dragons?!"
"nothing! they just..... don't like them......"
"so, there's no reason? that is just the most........ this is some kind of joke, right?"
"i'm afraid not........"
"i can't believe this.......... how could they.................? Inferno....... if they........ if you're not allowed to......... why did you kiss me.....? i want the truth....... if you're not supposed to........ why start a relationship with me........?" she asked. Inferno sighed.
"well, the first time, it happened to fast, i......... i was in a panic....... i thought we were gonna get caught 'cause you wouldn't be quiet, so i........ i did the only thing that came to my mind......... i didn't expect to like it........ i didn't expect to fall........ i...." he turned away. he looked down, as if it was hard for him to say this. he then looked at her. "........i didn't expect to....... fall in love with you.........." he whispered. ".........i--i--it just........ it happened so fast............. look, Artica....... i........ i don't care what they think............. it's a stupid rule......... it's one i never expected to break......... but it happened......... and you know what...........? i'm glad that it did.............. Artica.......... i love you......... you should know that......... and you should know........ that i....... i won't let........ i'm not gonna let anything or anyone......... come between us........ because i want to be with you........ and that's all that matters........." he said, softly. tears rolled down his cheeks. he waited for a response from Artica. then, in an instant, she kissed him. they smiled as they kissed. but someone else frowned as they watched from the bushes.

yeah. he's a sweetalker. he turned an angry Artica into a happy one. and it's a nice, sweet little moment.

"ugh! i can't believe this! he runs off in the middle of the night, and never writes me back, and now this?!" a young female screamed as she marched into a large cave nearby.
"hey, sis, what's wrong?" a voice asked. a figure walked up to the female from the depts of the cave. it was a young male. his scales were a bright orange. his belly and inside wings were yellow. his two jagged horns were yellow. his flame-shaped tail-end was yellow. his eyes were ruby red. the female groaned loudly. "what's going on, Venus?" he asked again.
"i'll tell you what's wrong!" she hissed. "he is going out with an ice dragon!"
"who is?"
"your good-for-nothing-never-ever-writes-me-back friend!" she hollered. the male took a moment to process this.
"wait, what?" he asked, confused.
"Inferno is dating an ice dragon!" she yelled.
"oh..." he muttered. it didn't hit him just then. "wait, what?! an ice dragon?! what the heck is he doing with an ice dragon?!"
"i don't know! but i saw them kiss, and he said he loved her, and ugh!" she roared with anger.
"well, what's her name? is she cute?" he asked, curiously. Venus gave him a look as if he had just betrayed her. "uh, nevermind..." he muttered, backing away, slowly. "so, where are they?"
"outside, probally making out..." she grumbeled as she marched past him. the male grinned a moment, and peeked outside the cave.
"what's going on?" moaned an adult female voice from within the cave.
"Venus saw Inferno with an ice dragon." the male said, without thinking, as he strained to see through the bushes.
"wait, what? Apollo, what are you talking about?" she asked. he turned around to face her. she was a bright yellow dragoness. she was much like Venus, only she was all yellow. her eyes were also yellow, and almost seemed to shine brighter than the sun.
"i just told you, Mom. Inferno came home, and Venus saw him with an ice dragon. she said they were kissing." he told her.
"who was kissing what now? was that why Venus was screaming at top of her lungs?" an adult male voice groaned as he joined them. they turned to look at him. he was a muscular dragon with bright red scales. his belly and inside wings were a deep orange. he had two orange jagged horns. his orange tail-end was shaped like a flame. he had crimson eyes.
"yes, Dad. venus is upset 'cause she saw Inferno with an ice dragon."
"an ice dragon?! what the heck is he doing with an ice dragon?!" he asked shocked, sounding a bit enraged as well.
"now, Cyrus, settle down. i'm sure there's a logical explanation for all of this." the female said, calmly.
"and what might that be, Sunny? hmm? it sounds like Inferno has gone against his parents rules. i must inform Orion at once!"
"you will do no such thing, dear. Orion and his mate will find out soon enough. i am sure that is why Inferno has brought his friend here, to tell everyone about her."
"i don't see why he would, with what we think of ice dragons."
"perhaps he hopes to change our minds."
"hmph." Cyrus snorted. "than i wish him good luck. he shall need it." he grumbled.

"you live here?" Artica stared into the tunnel of a large cave.
"yeah, why?" Inferno asked, not sure what she meant by that.
"oh, nothing. it's just, i lived in a temple, and you stay in this stuffy old place."
"well, i'm just a fire dragon. no reason to live in a fancy place. come on, i'll show you inside." he said. he sighed before walking inside. Artica followed. they cave seemed empty and quiet.
"are they home?" she asked.
"i don't know why they wouldn't be." he answered. "maybe they're in thier room." he said, walking into a large chamber. Artica waited outside the room, nut sure if she should walk into his parents' room. there, laying together, gazing at a thick book, were two large red dragons. the female was a rosey red with a scarlet belly, and scarlet inside wings. she had six cherry red horns, and a cherry red tail-end shaped like a blade. her eyes were ruby. the male was a bright crimson. his belly and inside wings were a chili pepper red. his two jagged horns were a fiery red, and so was his flame-like tail-end. his eyes were a maroon red. "Mom, Dad..." Inferno said. they looked up from the book they were reading.
"sweetheart, you're home!" his mother said, getting up. she walked over to him, and gave him a big hug, squeezing him tightly.
"Scarlet, don't suffocate the poor boy!" his father chuckled. Scarlet let go, and Inferno took a deep breath. "come here, son." Orion said, getting up. Inferno walked over, and recieved a pat on the back from his father. "so, what brings you back home? we wern't sure if you were coming back."
"Mom, Dad....... there's someone i want you to meet....." he muttered, sounding nervous. Scarlet's eyes widened as she grinned.
"well, don't let the poor girl wait outside, bring her in!" Orion said with a light chuckle. Inferno glanced back towards the door. then with a friendly little smile, Artica walked in.
"Mom, Dad...... this is Artica...... Artica, these are my parents, Orion and Scarlet..." he said, looking back and forth between them.
"nice to meet you." Artica smiled, trying to be nice. his parents frowned at the sight of an ice dragon.
"......what a.....pleasure to meet you...." Scarlet said through her teeth, trying to seem friendly.
".....what......? who......? why.......? how.......?" Orion muttered, shocked.
"she's my girlfriend.... we met a little while ago..... she's introduced me to her friends and family..... and i've even helped her and her sister to save the world from Anyanca and Xerxes....... i know she's not what you expected, and that you don't approve, but...... i don't care...... i love Artica, and...... i want to be with her....." Inferno explained. Artica looked away as she blushed. his parents gasped. by the looks of thier shocked faces, Inferno knew this would not go well.

Tundra: Well yeah i guess, but still im offended.

eh, don't pay any attention to a bunch of grumpy old fire dragons.

Tundra: Ok i'll just sit and read then.

in the meantime, Tundra, i think some friends of yours may need you...

"Inferno..... please see your....... guest....... to the door......" Scarlet asked, politely. Inferno frowned, and led Artica to the door. "come back inside once she's gone......" his mother continued. Inferno stepped outside with Artica.
"they hate me....." she lowered her head with a frown.
"no, no....... don't say that...... they just haven't....... warmed up to you......" he assured her. Artica looked up at him.
"they wanted me gone....... and they want to see you...... it can't be good......"
"everything will be fine...... i promise...... just go home, and i'll meet you there, okay....?"
"okay....." she muttered with a slight nod.
"and please smile...... you may be real cute when you pout, but i prefer to see you smile, and to see your eyes sparkle....." Artica had to smile at that.
"there it is....." he smiled. then he kissed her. "....see you later, okay...?"
"okay....." she said, turning to leave. "......bye..." she started to walk away.
"hey, wait, i wanna try something....." he called. she stopped, and looked back with a curious look. "........love ya.....!" he smiled. Artica smiled.
".......love you too....." she replied.
"hey, we have to say that from now on, okay....?" he smiled wide. Artica giggled.
"sure..." she smiled. "..i better go...."
"kay.....bye...."
"bye..." she smiled. then she turned to leave once more. Inferno watched her walk away.
"......hate to see her leave.....but i love to watch her go....." he smiled, muttering to himself. then after she disappeared from sight, he walked back inside. he was smiling wide as he thought of her, but his smile faded when he saw the looks on his parents faces. his mother, Scarlet, looked disappointed. his father, Orion, looked angry.
"what the heck are you thinking, boy?!" his father snapped in an angry tone. "did i not tell you the rules a million times over?! you are not allowed to be around ice dragons at all! unless you're breathing fire on them! then you go and fall for this.... this..... this little rat!"
"Orion, please try to calm that temper of yours." Scarlet pleaded.
"i will not be calm, Scarlet! he has disobeyed us by hanging around that good-for-nothing ice dragon!"
"hey! watch what you say about Artica!" Inferno snapped, blowing smoke from his nostrills.
"what did you say, boy? did you just raise your voice at me?! after all i've done to keep you alive you use that tone with me?! i am your father, and you will not speak to me that way!"
"i don't care if you're a freaking elder! you do not call my girlfriend a rat!" he growled.
"Inferno, please..." Scarlet begged.
"are you just going to sit there and let him behave like this?!" Orion snapped at his mate. "boy, i will smack you good if you speak to me like that again! she is an ice dragon, and this relationship you have with her is forbiddon!"
"you can't forbid me to see her! i love her!"
"i don't care how you feel! you are not to see her again, and that is final! now go to your room, and i better not hear another word about this ice dragon!" Orion roared. then Inferno stormed off to his room with an angry expression. he grumbled to himself as he walked. Scarlet turned to her mate with a sadened look.
"why did you have to be so hard on him? he's found love, his first love. who are we to question...... his decision..."
"Scarlet, don't defend him! he knows very well what the rules are! we've been forcing that rule down his throat since he hatched! he knows very well of our hate of ice dragons! yet he pulls a stunt like this! i will not tolerate such behavior!"
"i admit i do not like ice dragons any more than you do, but, Orion, he is our son! he has fallen in love! to forbid that love is cruel!"
"i do not care about cruelty! he could have walked away at any time! but he did not! therefore, he must be punished!"
"do you really think you can keep them apart?! if they love each other, they will unite against us, and anyone else who threathens to seperate them!"
"well, if it is a war he wants, then so be it!" Orion roared. Inferno slammed the door of his room. he had heard the fight. angry and upset, he plopped down on the ground, tears streaming down his face.

Poor inferno I feel bad for him. Hope his father understands soon

and yes, poor Inferno. locked up in his room, unable to see Artica.

soon it was nightfall, and everyone was getting ready for bed. all except for one.
"Artica, are you ever coming inside?" Flare asked, walking up to her. Artica sat outside the mountain, gazing up at the night sky.
"he said he would come back....... he was supposed to come back...... why hasn't he come back.......?" Artica mumbled, a tear rolling down her cheek.
"i don't know..... but you can't wait here all night..... come on... everyone's getting ready for bed....."
"no.... he's coming back..... he said he would....." another tear ran down her cheek. Flare sat down beside her, wrapping a wing around her sister for comfort.
"well, maybe he can't right now..... he hasn't seen his family in a little while, so maybe he's just talking with them for a while.... or something....."
"......or maybe..... he's in trouble..... and we'll never... see each other..... again......" tears rolled down Artica's face.
"no, you don't really believe that, do you......? i mean, Inferno loves you more than anything....... he wouldn't allow that to happen...... and niether would i or the others........ and you shouldn't let it happen either......."
"...i just....... i don't know....... what's taking so long....." she sobbed.
"i don't know either...... but i do know that Inferno will get here as soon as i can....... so, why don't you come inside...?" Flare asked, sweetly. Artica closed her eyes, and shook her head. "...ok...... ok........ if you want to wait out here..... you can......." she got up to leave. "...i'll check on you in the morning......." she turned to leave, and started to walk away, when she stopped and looked back. "...i hope he comes back....... good night...." she said, quietly. then she walked inside. Artica lay down, still sobbing. she gazed up at a twinkeling star before laying her head down, and closing her eyes.
Meanwhile.......
Inferno paced back and forth in his room. only one dragon was on his mind. he then stopped and stood quietly as he heard sounds coming from outside his room.
"Orion, come to bed, it's late." a female voice said.
"no, Scarlet. what if the boy tries to leave? someone stood stand gaurd. which is why i'm going to be sitting out here all night."
"Inferno was always such a good, obediant child. we should trust him to stay in his room."
"that last thing i'll do now is trust him. he has completely lost his mind, and he is to stay here until he returns to his senses." he said. Scarlet sighed.
"i suppose i understand that, but you couldn't possibly sit out here all night."
"i can, and i will."
"fine. but don't think you can just change your mind and come sleep with me. you are to stay out here until you come to your senses." she snorted. then Scarlet marched off to the bedroom without another word. Orion snorted and layed down to relax. before he knew it, he started to close his eyes. before long, he was snoring. Inferno was still awake, thinking of a certain little ice dragon. he then heard his father's snoring and knew he had fallen asleep. Inferno quietly walked over to the door. he started to open it, but stopped when it made a creaking sound. he quickly looked to see that his dad was still asleep. he then noticed that the large dragon was blocking most of the hallway with his body. Inferno closed the door, figuring he wouldn't get out that way. he then walked over to the far wall. he was about to lay down and try to sleep, when he got an idea. he faced the wall, and took a deep breath. then he let out a scorching flamethrower. soon the flames had burned a hole in the wall. pleased with the new exit, Inferno grinned. then he spread his wings, and flew away. someone was out for a walk that night, and had seen him fly away.
Inferno flew to Nightiron's home, where he found Artica asleep outside. he didn't want to wake her, so he layed down beside her. he wrapped a wing around her, and layed his head down beside hers. he then closed his eyes.

How nice i felt sorry for artica, but im glad inferno is there for her now.

yeah. she waited outside for him for a while. but at least he showed up eventually.

Yeah thats was a cute moment, i can just picture that scene too. Oh and merry christmas cyn hope you had a good one.
