Starz continued flying at her usual pace. She looked around at the giant dark purple mushrooms that grew all around the city. It must have taken thousands of years for them to grow to their size.
George flew along assisting Aretis in keeping the earth palette transport pad carrying Greyscale, "I've only been through a small part of this area, on my way to Ceeador of course, so I do not know the place. Derrick has not then told me of this place himself, so odds are he hasn't been this far on his nightly runs either," he concluded, "Have either of you been here before?" He asked all those who could hear him.

"I haven't." Starz called back. As she veered around a large mushroom, she almost crashed into a group of floating jellywish. She luckily dodged them and then saw a familiar looking giant mushroom, which had a house in the stalk, with a small wooden door, some windows and a small chimey with smoke coming out of it.
"There! That's Cenor's friend's house." Starz beat her wings and then glided down towards the mushroom house.
No, but you recognize a house that you've never visited. How can one recognize a place without having not seen it? The spheres aren't easily moved safely. George follows shortly behind as the place came into view. Bringing the earth board around to allow Grayscale to dismount and join the group on foot. Derrick halted his advance under one of the lower laying mushrooms.

"I'm Aretis." He said as he recovered his breath. "Well, you weren't present when I asked if there were earth dragons in the group to help so I did not know. I apologize. Your assistance is most welcome." He smiled. "But we can't do this forever or we'll waste too much energy. I'm going to find something in Azscium's library or consult some of the local magicians and come up with a better solution."

George nodded, "Sounds like an idea," he replied, "My friends and I were a little later than we had planed and I apologize for our timing," he made a slight smile, "If I may ask, how old are you?" Derrick found the closest and safe location to the group, luckily it was a rather shaded area from the mushrooms being more solid than trees.

"It seems pretty stable to me." Starz landed right outside the wooden door and knocked politely.
After a few seconds, she heard a creak and the door slowly opened. Just inside the doorway was an old, and rather small, black dragon. He had bright green eyes, grey wings and a few red lines on his back with light grey back spikes. As soon as he saw the group on his doorstep, he smiled. "You must be the group Cenor told me about," he said, in a slightly trembling elder dragon voice. "Please, come in, come in, make yourself at home."
Starz smiled back at the elder dragon and slowly stepped into the warm mushroom home. She looked around. Shelves lines the walls, filled with books and glass bottles with colourful liquids. There was a small fountain in the corner, sparkling in the yellow light which hung above it. Next to the fountain was a table with a red cloth over it. More books, and assorted bowls, lay around on the rug-covered floor. There was also a pile of pillows and blankets which sat next to the large fireplace at the back of the room.
"I am sorry about the mess," the elder dragon apologized. He paused for a moment. "Oh, I have not even introduced myself yet. My name is Tulvir."
"Nice to meet you Tulvir." Starz smiled at him.
"Where're they going?" Kumara asked spotting Starz and the others enter a house.
"They must have found the elder," Shadow replied.
"C'mon guys let's see what's going on," Kumara then made a sharp turn on the way back, Shadow closely behind. She then landed at the door and entered just in time for Tulvir to introduce himself.
"It's a pleasure to be in your presence," she said to the old dragon.
Tulvir smiled and nodded at Kumara. "Please, all of you, come in, come in. You may sit down by the fire." The elder dragon went over to a cupboard situated on the wall. He took out a few bowls and began to fill them with water.
"Cenor told me that Tulvir knows a lot about the darkness, and if we have any questions, we can ask him." Starz glanced back at Kihei and then padded over to the fire, sitting down on a comfortable cushion.
Tulvir continued filling bowls of water and then placed them in front of everyone. He then sat down in front of them and pulled a pile of books over from the corner of the room with his tail. He reached back, grabbed them, and placed them in front of him. He then looked up.
"According to what I have read, darkness mist in the past has had effect on dark dragons. But, it usually helps them grow stronger." He opened one of the books in front of him and started flicking through it. "However, there have been some cases when darkness mist has affected darkness dragons, as well as other creatures, in a bad way. But with this current darkness mist, I do not know."
Starz shifted uncomfortably and lowered her gaze, looking into her bowl of water.
"What is the water for?" Skyward asked. "I don't know if it's for some spell or just a refreshment. I hope it's a refreshment, because I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty thirsty."

Aretis nodded. "Of course. I'm 22." He said curtly and then walked inside with the rest of them, sitting down beside Starz and looked at the elder, seeming to study him intently.

Tulvir closed the book in front of him and looked up. As he did, he noticed Greyscale examining his potions on the shelves. He smiled, remembering to ask her if she would like to know anything about them later. His gaze switched to Makil and his smile disappeared. "That is what I do not know." He paused. "However, I do believe some creature is behind all this, but I do not know who."
George followed in after the others, giving a nod to Derrick before entering. He had found a rather open spot behind the others, raised his wing parallel to the floor, casting a shadow magic shield. Derrick zoomed in to the cover of George's developed ability.

Tulvir tapped his claws on the ground, thinking about it. "Hmm. I am not sure. It really depends on what element the creature controlling the dark mists has. If they have the darkness element, other darkness attacks will not effect them. If they have the earth element, then, darkness attacks will effect them."
Tulvir nodded and his expression changed to a serious one. "Xabar..." he began, slowly. "A terrible place, always covered in a thick layer of deadly mist. Any creature who ventures in there, never comes back out. But...that is where the darkness mist is coming from." He opened his book again and flicked through the pages. "It has been confirmed that that darkness level in Xabar is growing, and it is converting into mist. Also, about the small darkness creatures you may have encountered? I believe that they are actually innocent beings from the land of Xabar. But they have been filled with so much hatred and anger, and those emotions have converted into darkness surprisingly, and that is why the creatures are completely black with red eyes. Usually they are grey and have yellow or green eyes." He paused for a moment. "I battled one the other night. I tried to examine it after I defeated it, but it just dissolved into mist and vanished. It seems the darkness has taken over the creature's whole body and if the darkness is destroyed, the creature is as well."
Derrick now spoke up, "What about dragons who can see through the darkness, not of the darkness element?" George looked down to Derrick after he heard the question, "Say that one could move at extraordinary speeds on foot, without the need of flight, and prone to living in the shadows?"

"Well, about four years ago I was attacked by someone or something that left me to die. When the sun came up that night, it burned my body like an open flame burning leather. Since then I've had to survive off of... Well other being's blood alone," he glanced up at George, "It came with other properties as well," he looked back over to Tulvir, "I don't feel tired, I don't sleep, my legs feel like feathers and I still don't know my own strength, I see in the dark, and I haven't grown an inch these past four years. What happened to me?" He lost the subject mid explanation.

"Well that's actually something I can answer" Makil said "You were turned into a vampire dragon Derrick, there's nothing wrong with that since you've been such a great dragon and friend since it happened"
Kihei walked over to Derrick and hugged him "Its ok to accept what you are Derrick, there's nothing wrong with who you are" He said
Long after his encounter with this group the Wyvern had been watching them from a distance, clinging to both the shadows and crowds to hide amiss. Had they been here for some other reason or not inquired into the strange mists he would of left the subject alone but since his little pet project was similar to the qualities and traits of the mist he was sure sooner or later tracks would detour to him.
In the shadows under a mushroom and a far distance from the window of the house he took out a small gem he uncovered before consuming it, suddenly the tail tip slowly tore itself from his body and fell to the ground wiggling like a worm before sprouting limbs and taking the appearance to a small lizard. As for his tail now missing a tip it was soon replaced by apparent regeneration but in reality it was just repaired and reformed from stored biomass from last night's dinner.
This little thing was the result of testing his element and enhancing it into new directions at the cost of unable to ever perform it's original states abilities. Regardless like a second pair of eyes and ears he instructed the little thing to go listen in on the conversation this group were likely having with the elder.
Derrick found himself standing from his random distress, but then sat back down, "Vampire? I've never heard the term before," he said rather quietly. Glancing back up to Tulvir, "Well what I was getting at was, maybe I... Could go into the mist, I've really got no other use amongst these guys," he looked about at the others in the room. George reached over and pulled Derrick in under his chest and lowered his wing to just cover their side.

Tulvir stood up. "Well, if I have answered all your questions, I wish you all luck on this quest. I have added some health potions and some spells that might come in handy in your supplies bag." He nodded at Starz's supply bag. "Also, I suggest you take the route to Dawana, instead of going around and reaching Asparia first. I have a friend in Dawana who knows a bit more about the darkness since she is closer to the Emerald City. And if you run out of supplies, you can get more in Asparia for a cheap price. Plus you can take the northern route into the Emerald City and there is less darkness there. The southern banks of Siyalor and being covered faster in the darkness mist than the north."
Knocks were soon heard from the door, no sooner had enough information been gathered had he absorbed the little creature back into his form and dropped down from the roofs to a front door.
