The creature screeched and stumbled back, blinded.
Starz shot another larger light beam at the creature and it screeched again, hissed, and then began to sink in the ground, turning into a small shadow and then disappearing.

"A darkness creature." Tulvir replied, walking over to the doorway and beginning to clean up.

Aretis sighed. "Yeah. We've...fought them before. They shouldn't be this far out...but well I guess that can no longer be true." He helped Tulvir clean up, also trying to calm himself from that sudden surprise.

"The darkness mist must have moved forward, which means it has crossed the barriers and the armies are having a hard time holding it back. You two must hurry and get to the Emerald City." Tulvir then glanced at Greyscale. "Greyscale...you could join them."

"The number of citizens in the Emerald City has decreased since the sight of darkness on the mountain tops," Tulvir replied. "And I just thought since you are here, you could help these two dragons, since they are the only two on this quest. But it is your choice, of course."
"We need all the help we can get," Starz murmured, glancing at Aretis.

"Well, we weren't." Starz cut in before Tulvir could say anything. "There were some others...but they left us."

"It's up to you," Starz said. "I won't force you to join us, but it would be great to have some help." She gave Greyscale a small smile.

Starz smiled. "Thank you."
Tulvir stepped forward. "Well, young dragons, I wish you luck on this quest. I have given you all the information I have, and I've added some health potions and some spells that might come in handy in your supplies bag." He nodded at Aretis's supply bag. "Also, I suggest you take the route to Dawana, instead of going around and reaching Asparia first. I have a friend in Dawana who knows a bit more about the darkness since she is closer to the Emerald City. And if you run out of supplies, you can get more in Asparia for a cheap price. Plus you can take the northern route into the Emerald City and there is less darkness there. The southern banks of Siyalor and being covered faster in the darkness mist than the north."

Aretis took this turn of events carefully. Well, if this creature wanted to join she can join. He could see the problem though. It would take us twice as long now because as far as he knew, this creature didn't have wings and therefore could not fly. Even if this creature did, he didn't know how fast this creature could fly. Aretis sighed and thanked Tulvir for the potions and the spells and took a look at the map, making sure he knew the way to Dawana.

Tulvir glanced at Greyscale. "Also, the route you will be taking is pretty safe for wingless creatures. You may encounter a few darkness creatures here and there but they will be small and weak."

"We'll stay a night here at the inn." Aretis said. "And then we'll leave by first light." He announced. Aretis began to walk out the door turning around. "Thank you Tulvir, and farewell. We'll stop the darkness or die trying." Aretis put on his fake smile.

Tulvir nodded at Aretis and smiled. "I hope my knowledge helped you in some way. I wish you all good luck."
"Thank you Tulvir." Starz smiled at him and followed Aretis to the door.

"Azscium." Aretis replied. "Umm, I forget the name of the inn, but it's the one on the northeastern side of the city and closest to the gates of the town." Aretis flicked his tail looking at Greyscale.

Tulvir nodded. "Aretis is right. You will be able to gather your supplies and meet the others at the inn."
Starz randomly jumped out of the doorway and looked back at the others still in Tulvir's house.

Aretis spread his wings and flew away to the city, thinking about and pondering the events that have occurred. He wondered how this puzzle will be solved. And if they'll get out of it alive.

Starz flew after Aretis. "We'll head to Dawana at sunrise."

Starz and Aretis soon reached the inn. After selecting a room, they settled in for the night.

OOC: Should we time-skip?

ooc: sure.

Aretis went straight to sleep after being tired throughout the day. His dreams were disturbed and twisted, full of shadow creatures, blood, and the sense that he couldn't solve something and that his life and the lives of his friends depended on it.

A dim sunlight rose above the hills, shining down on the Mushroom Kingdom. A yellow and purple glow filled the mushroom forest, making the city not look as evil as it did during the darkest nights.
Starz was already outside of the inn, watching light dance across the giant mushroom stalks. She was eager to continue and reach Dawana. "There's only three of us now," she thought. "We might not be able to do anything...but it's worth a try." She sighed and closed her eyes, lowering her head, blocking out the dim sunlight, letting her vision and mind go blank for a moment. She then blinked open her blue eyes and continued to watch the light on the mushroom stalks, waiting to Aretis to wake up and Greyscale to arrive at the inn.

Aretis awoke silently and languidly shook off the spell of sleep. He rose and yawned, drowsily packing up everything and quickly going through the inn to see if they had forgotten anything. Afterwards he went outside and caught up with Starz and smiled at her.

"Morning," Starz murmured, giving Aretis a small smile. "I've decided to set off as soon as Greyscale gets here."

OOC: You two can add another character if you want. I've already added another character and he'll be introduced when the group reaches Dawana.
