"Well, I've gotta go now." Kallik said and bounded away.

Skaliscin seemed to have cooled down a bit. Trying to engage in conversation, she asked "S-s-so, where are you from? And I don't think I caught your name..."

Sybil didn't understand why Jaerl was so happy about. On her way to the tree, she better not find the mongoose running around again. She won't be as merciful as before, and she was going to make sure that Jaerl received a good scorn.

Making sure that the mongoose is safe, I fly over to Sybil's tree and perch on a branch waiting for her to arrive.

Seeing Jaerl flying above her, Sybil accelerated her steps. "Jaerl! What did you do!? You left the mongoose unsupervised!?" she yelled, angry. Jaerl returned to her too fast. There was no way he left the mongoose in the outback and back, not that fast at least...

Speckles was torn out of his nightmares by voices. Groggily, he lifted his head and crawled out from the leaves, peaking out of the bush. The velvet worm glanced in the direction of the voice; it was Sybil, and she didn't seem too happy. An idea that had popped up earlier now became questionable.
No, she seems angry right now. I'd better not...

chica could hear yelling, even though it was so far away. "i think we should find out whats going on" she said, and headed in the direction of sybil and jaerl. draco followed behind, at a slower pace though.

"JAERL!" Sybil yelled with a stronger voice, still following the little falcon around. She left like he was ignoring her...

I lay the pike beside Sybil's tree and fly back to my tree, before laying down beside the mongoose draping my wing over him to keep him warm.

Sybil noticed the pike this time, and since she was in front of her tree right now, she could see what Jaerl was doing. Another thing she was confused about. Every predatory bird had the reputation of being merciless killers, but Jaerl proved her wrong once more.

After briefly looking at this action, her stomach started grumbling loudly. She hasn't eaten a thing since yesterday, and she was starving. It was a good thing Jaerl saved her the trouble of fishing. She started eating, barely chewing...

I fall asleep beside the mongoose trying to keep him warm and comfortable.

Sybil already finished her meal... but she hoped she didn't get a stomachache for eating too fast. She noticed Jaerl was sleeping, and then looked at the mongoose, who was doing the same. She didn't know if he was pretending or if it was for real, so she kept a vigilant watch...

chica burst out to where sybil was and screeched to a stop.

Sybil felt a presence behind her. "Chica? But I thought you were giving a tour. Finished already?" she asked, forgetting that a quite amount of time has passed since she left the beach...

The rustling of the bushes and the flick of a striped tail caught Speckles's eye. Suspicious, he slowly sank back into the brush.
"There's someone here," he called out, any sign of depression hidden away.

Not far behind, Skaliscin slithered into view.
"What's-s-s-s the matter?" she hissed, her tone oddly emotionless.

Kona had wandered away from Chica. She looked into the bush. "Woah!"

"Hey wait up who are you?" Kona called and ran after it.

Kona realized the animal was scared and skidded to a stop.

Despite the sudden action, Speckles noticed Skaliscin; a wave a sadness and regret washed over him.
Skaliscin glanced around, surprised by the creatures leaping after each other. She looked back at Sybil.
"Hello; I exs-s-spect and ans-s-swer," the serpent demanded, getting slightly irritated.

Kona then remembered he might be endangered! So she ran off to find Sybil.

Speckles cautiously crawled from the bush and, slowly, approached Sybil.

"Oh now what are you talking about Skaliscin!? No one disappears out of nowhere!"Sybil explained, a little upset about the behavior. She then noticed little Speckles, and pointed towards the little caterpillar "You see, Speckles is here."she said, and then turned all the attention on the little crawler. "Say now, have you seen everyone? They left just like that."the civet asked, noticing that Skaliscin was right in that sense. The place felt lonely all of the sudden...

Skaliscin let out a long, loud hiss, and slithered off, muttering something bitter to herself.

"They were chasing after another wolf-like creature; I think it's a newcomer," Speckles replied dully. He glanced away for a moment, hesitating, then turned back to the civet. "There's... something I need to talk to you about; it's... it's a bit private, but I think you should know about it..."

Sybil payed little attention about what the velvet worm wanted to tell her. "A newcomer? Wait, beside s the fox and the alligator?"she asked, demanding an answer. "Why didn't anyone told me sooner!? And what is happening to the birds around here? Why don't they tell me these things!?"but after saying that, she took a brief moments. Could it be that the seagulls, pelicans and warblers were a little upset for nurturing a mongoose back to health? If it is, who told them? Sybil was pretty sure she knew the answer to that... Yodel.

Sybil calmed down. She decided to listen to the little guy first before giving Yodel the scorn of his life. "Oh all right. What is......"and she heard the sneeze. It was pretty close. "Who is there!? You better not be another mongoose!!!"she warned, looking at the bush where the new creature was hiding, and losing her composure once again...
