thanks. yeah, i thought it would obvious that it was Xerxes. all the signs pointed to that. good thing Nightiron wasn't fooled by his little act though. but let's face it, Xerxes is a terrible actor. now that Xerxes has revealed himself, and finally has a body, things should get even more intresting. i'll write more when i get a chance.

"X--X--X--Xerxes.........?" Nightiron and the others gasped. Xerxes chuckled evily.

"what's the matter? scared?" he chuckled. "i had you all fooled this whole time. i was never Coalstone."

"you didn't have me fooled!" Night snarled.

"hmph. only because of your mate. if i wasn't in his pathetic body, i would have easily fooled you."

"hardly. you arn't much of an actor." she scoffed.

"but what about that kiss.....?" Goldheart muttered from the shadows. Xerxes whirled his head around to see the two young dragons.

"ah, i see we have two little spies." he snickered. the two came out from hiding, and cautiously moved towards Goldrune.

"leave them alone!" Goldrune growled.

"relax, Goldy. i had no intention of killing them. yet." he chuckled.

"but Goldheart did ask a good question. you seemed to enjoy that kiss for a moment." Goldrune said.

"pfft! only good acting. as if i would ever like a kiss of any sort. impossible!" he spat.

"no. you have no talent for acting. it was something......... else." Nightiron muttered.

"hmph. you must be mistaken. i did not enjoy that kiss!" he growled.

"i didn't say that. i never would." Nightiron frowned in disgust. she then walked up to him.

"what are you doing?" he asked.

"proving my theroy......" she whispered. she then kissed him again. like last time, the kiss was smooth and gentle. he kissed back, like before. they then gazed into each others' eyes.
"Coalstone..........?" she whispered.

"i'm here, Night......." he whispered back, placing his paw on her cheek.

"i knew it.......i knew it was you......i knew it had to be you who returned my kiss......" she smiled.

"how could i not......?" he smiled softly.

"but how.......?" Ironstone spoke up. they both glanced at him.

"they never killed me......" Coal said. "...they wanted to, but they didn't..."

"why?" Goldheart asked.

"for this very reason. they needed me alive to use my body. if they killed me, my powers would be gone, and my crystal would have to be destoryed. they wanted those things, so they kept me alive. Anyanca put Xerxes into my body, with my soul still intact. since he was stronger, he took control. Anyanca healed him fully, but i still felt weak. and then, you kissed me, Night. you did it to prove a point, but you brought me back. you gave me the strenght to take control of my own body. plus, Xerxes seemed weakened by it. he disliked it so much that i was able to take control of my body. but i don't have long before he'll try to take it back."

"so that's why. they needed you alive. he needed you. but why wouldn't he try to kill us?" Nightiron asked.

"i don't know. they have some kind of plan. at least Anyanca does. she wouldn't tell Xerxes, so i don't know what it is."

"well, we need to get out of here. if Xerxes gains full control of your body, then we'll need to prepare for the end." Goldrune said.

"you all better go without me." Coalstone told them.

"Coal, no. i'm not leaving without you." Night shoke her head.

"you have to, ok? you have to go. if i go with you, then Xerxes goes too. he'll know what we're up to, and he'll have a chance to kill you. i can't risk that. we can't risk that. just go without me. i'll be all right."

"what if they try to get rid of you?"

"as long as they need me, i'll be ok. Xerxes has no powers of his own right now, so he needs me alive to have powers. plus, they want my crystal. if i die, it's useless. they want it's power, and they need me alive to get it. just go while you still can. i don't have much time."

"we'll come back for you." Nightiron said. she then kissed him briefly. she and Goldrune picked up Goldscale, and started to leave.

"bye, Dad." Ironstone said.

"bye, son. goodbye, Night. just get out of here as fast as you can. find the others, and come up with a plan to stop them. i'll see if i can stall them. just hurry. don't worry about me, just go. we don't have much time." he said. they nodded. then just as they were leaving, Xerxes was starting to take control of Coalstone's body.

"i must warn Anyanca......" he said. then he raced down the hallway.

oh boy i hope they make out ok, very interesting.

thanks. by the way, the idea of Coalstone and Xerxes being in the same body was inspried by Ice Bane's characters. i just wanted to mention that.

yes, it's a cool idea. in fact, his characters are in some of my stories. you might get to see one or both of them. i'll let you know when you see them if they belong to him. i won't say any spoilers.

thank you. sorry i haven't been online. my dad's been home from work all week, and he hasn't let me online.

Flare, Artica, and Inferno flew towards Anyanca's lair. they then stopped. a group of dragons was flying towards them.

"hurry! go back! go before they catch us!" it was Goldrune. she was warning them of something. something that was following them.

"what?! why?! what's going on?!" Flare questioned.

"no time for answers! just fly!" Goldrune said. the trio turned around, and began flying away. Goldrune, Nightiron, Goldheart, and Ironstone followed behind them. the seven dragons flew at top speed. they raced to avoid whatever could be following them. occasionally, they would look back. behind them was an army of black dragons, grey wyverns, and dreadwings with apes riding them. Xerxes must have warned Anyanca of thier plan to escape, and she sent her minions to capture them all.

"we're not going to make it!" Ironstone cried out.

"yes we are! hurry!" Goldrune cried out. she then flew upwards, and got in the lead. "come on! follow me!" she said. she then dove down towards a forrest. the others quickly follows. they swiftly flew through the trees. the army followed. some flew after them, others flew above the trees.

"we're being surrounded!" Goldheart yelled. soon the army had them trapped on all sides.

"i'll handle them! quick! get in a forcefeild!" Artica yelled. Goldrune and Goldheart made a forcefield around themselves and the others. then Artica rose up, and used an ice fury. the army froze. "come on!" she yelled. the forcefields came down, and they continued flying. however, the warm climate caused the ice to melt. the army was free, and went after them.

"got any other bright ideas?!" Flare hollered.

"i have one! follow me!" Inferno yelled. everyone followed him. he began flying out to sea.

"why are we going this way?!" Artica yelled.

"maybe if we dive udnerwater, they won't follow us!" he answered.

"but you're a fire dragon! what makes you think you can get in water?!" Artica reminded him.

"i figured ours lives mattered more than my lack of ability to swim!" he answered.

"we need a diffrent plan!" Flare hollered. as they flew out to sea, the army followed. then a giant wave came rushing towards them.

"look out!" Goldheart yelled.

"go back!" Ironstone shouted. they started to turn around, but the army was behind them.

"no! go up!" Nightiron yelled. then they all flew upwards. the wave crashed into the army. the army quickly recovered, and chased after them again. the group continued flying. they flew as fast as they could, but the army still followed. Goldrune led the way, the kids were behind her, Nightiron was in back. the wyverns sped up, getting closer. they then grabbed Nightiron. "ahhh! let me go!" she screamed.

"Night!" Goldrune yelled.

"Mom!" Ironstone screamed. although they were concerned, they made a mistake by stopping. each one was grabbed by Anyanca's minions.

"put them to sleep!" one big, black dragon yelled. then each black dragon breathed white mist into thier faces, putting them to sleep. "now we must take them back to the queen!" he continued. the others nodded. then they headed back towards Anyanca's lair.

oh no they got caught thats not good. wonder if theyll be ok.

you'll have to read mroe to find out. just let me write more first.

yeah of course take your time, meanwhile im working on my next drawing im suppose to have been done with by now.

Goldrune, Nightiron, and the others were each thrown into the dungeuon. they all had thier own cell. they awoke the next morning, even Goldscale regained consciceness. a piece of meat was tossed into each of thier cells, but other than that, they had no contact with anyone. no one spoke to them, and they barely looked at them. another day went by, still nothing. they were grateful for what little food they got, and that they were not being tortured. however, they feared something worse would happen, they just didn't know what. another day passed, nothing changed. they then began to whisper to each through the walls of thier cells. a plan was forming. a plan to escape. the thought first came to Inferno, he then whispered his idea to the others. with some careful planning, they attempted to escape. Artica used ice to free herself, and did the same for the others. they quickly and quietly traveled through the hallways. however, they were quickly found by black dragons. they were put to sleep, and through back in cells. each day they tried to escape, and each day they failed to reach the exit. soon, a week went by. they had heard nothing about Anyanca, Xerxes, or the plan they had.
"the time has come.........it all takes place tomorrow night.........."
"talking to yourself, are you? you get crazier every day, Anya."
"Xerxes, do not sneak up on me like that! i was concentrating!"
"on what? the floor? what's so intresting about the floor?"
"my eyes were closed, moron. i was not staring at the floor. i was thinking. not that you know what that means."
"i know that thinking is. and you better stop it. we have no time for thinking, Anyanca. we must prepare for tomorrow night."
"i know. that it is what i was thinking about. i want to make sure we do not fail this time."
"then kill the prisoners. i've been telling you everyday to kill them. but do you listen? no! instead, you keep them alive! not only that, but you've been feeding them our meat!"
"calm yourself, Xerxes. i have a plan."
"and that would be what exactly? allow those dragons to break free and defeat us? i do not what to get killed again!"
"you will not. besides, by then, you will be at your full strenght."
"i would get stronger faster if you removed this soul from my body."
"it is not your body, Xerxes."
"it would be if i was the only one in it."
"removing a soul takes time."
"but you have done nothing to remove it! i want it gone now!"
"fine. go get yourself a dagger, and stab yourself through the heart. the soul will vanish."
"but then i will be dead also!"
"well, i am sorry, but that is the quickest way i know to remove a soul from a body."
"then think of another one that doesn't involve my death!"
"i already have. there is a ritual to remove a soul. though it may be painful."
"go ahead. i fear nothing."
"fine. i will remove Coalstone's soul from your body. just allow me to get my things, and we will begin."
"hurry. i must be at my full strenght by tomorrow night. if anything goes wrong, the plan will fail."
"yes, i know. i know very well, because you will not shut up about it. we may have failed before, but i assure you, brother, we will not fail again." she said with an evil grin.

Well looks like their plan to escape is not going well and they better hurry otherwise xerxes will be at full strength. im glad to see another chapter is up for this story.

yeah, i'm currently switching back and forth between this story and the Descendent.

Yeah i can tell hahaha. but hey im glad your continuing both.

hey. sorry i haven't written more of this one in a little while. i've just been busy as usual. i'll try to write more soon.

ok, i managed to write more. about time, right? anyway, i thought i would mention that the word "He//" is mentioned twice. i don't think that will be a problem, but just in case, this next part will be in a spoiler.
well, here it is:

oh no coalstones soul? what happened to it? let alone his body has been mutated.....by xerxes i dont like this one bit. hey how have you been cynder09 i hope all is well

i'm good. i don't go back to school until Wednesday, so i'm happy about that. now i'll have more time to write. more will be explained in the next part of the story.

ok, i have more written. here it is:

"..........no.........." a female sobbed.
"Nightiron? what's wrong? what happened?" a female asked.
".....they did it, Goldrune.........he's gone........." Night cried.
"gone? who? what are you talking about?"
"..............Coalstone..........he's gone..........they removed his soul........."
"what? how? how do you know? we haven't heard anything from them."
".......when it happened........i felt it......i felt his life slip away........"
"oh......i can't believe i forgot about the bond.......if one's true love dies........than the other feels it.......Nightiron, i'm so sorry........"
".......he's gone........my Coalstone is gone........" Nightiron lay on the ground, her head in her paws, tears streaming down her face. Goldrune looked at her from across the hall with a sad expression.
"what's going on.....?" a young male voice asked with a yawn.
"nothing. just go back to sleep, dear."
"no, Goldrune.........he should know........they all have a right to know........" Nightiron sobbed, raising her head. she turned her head to the left wall. ".......Ironstone.........your father........has passed......he's moved on.........they.........he's gone......." she cried. she lowered her head again.
"......what......?" he asked, tears rolling down his cheek. ".......i--i--is it........true......?" he turned to Goldrune. she nodded slowly.
"i'm sorry....." she whispered. Ironstone turned away, and layed down. he tried to hide his tears.
"wait, what happened.....?" another voice yawned.
"Goldheart...........Coalstone.........is dead........" Goldrune said, tears running down her cheek.
"........no.........." he muttered through tears. then he did the same as Ironstone. then the others woke up.
"what's going on?" Flare asked.
"why is everyone crying?" Inferno questioned.
"did we miss something......?" Artica yawned.
"young ones..........it's Coalstone.........he's dead.........." Goldrune told them.
"......w--what......?" Flare and Inferno asked, tears rolling down thier cheeks. Artica turned away, and kept silent.
"i'm sorry.......i'm sorry everyone......" Goldrune whispered. the young dragons all layed down in thier cells and cried over thier loss.
".......do i even want to know why everyone's crying......?" a male voice yawned.
"Goldscale......it's about Coalstone......." Goldrune began.
"no need to go on, dear.......i think i already know......" he muttered, a tear rolling down his cheek. the dragons all sobbed. then footsteps could be heard.
"stop your sniveling!" a black dragon growled.
"for your information a friend of ours is dead! we have every right to mourn his death!" Goldrune snapped as tears rolled down her cheeks. the dragon turned and glared at her.
"well, soon you'll be joining him, so shut your trap! but first, our masters would like you to witness the rise of darkness." he said. then more black dragons came. each one unlocked a cell, and put chains on the dragons. "move 'em out." he said. then they all left the dungeuon.

Oh no.... coalstone is dead.... wow this is turning very dark....

and it may get darker. i'll write more soon.

Frost: wow, we've been go awhile...
me: yep

yes, you have.
Fireflight: you've been gone too long. you should have been here, reading the stories.

forst: o come on fireflight, you can't stay mad at me...
Me: but C09 can stay mad at me... *looks nerviusly*

F: hmph. *turns away*
me: i guess she can. *whispers to Frost* but chocolate always cheers her up. by the way, i'm not mad. it takes a lot to make me mad. unlike Fire.

Fb: takes out some random chocolate
me: good... i was worried.. so whats has happened? did you kill frost in the story yet?
frost: HEY! I can't be kill yet, i'm in the storyies that this one leads to...
me: o yeah...

F: chocolate.......? *eyes lite up*
me: no, i haven't killed him. he's still alive. by the way, check out the Descendant. i think you'll like it. particulary the last couple parts.

frost: here you go! *gives chocolate to fireflight* i'm sorry...
me: oo, whats it about?

F: you're forgiven. ^ ^ *eats chocolate*
me: well, it's the future of the fireflight stories. it begins with an elderly ice dragon finding a small, red egg. lots has happened since the egg has hatched. go see for yourself.

me: okay! *bumps into a wall* AHH! I'm blind!
frost: *turns on a light* stupid...
me: o.. well.. that was.. embarrising.. *walks over the "the desendant"
frost: hows the chocolate?

F: delicious!
me: hey, come on, Fire, share.
F: no way! this is mine! have your bf get you some!

me: (in the backround) hey, if you come over here and read your story with me i'll give you some!
frost: your welcome

me: oh, ok. *goes to The Descendant*
F: bye. *waves. then continues eating*

Goldrune and the others were chained and gaurded by black dragons at the top of the mountain. soon Xerxes and Anyanca came. the black dragons bowed in respect, and forced the others to bow as well. it was still daylight, but it didn't last long. soon the sun was blotted out, and there was an eclipse. Xerxes roared, and then Anyanca joined him. the sky grew pitch black, not a star in sight. lightning flashed, thunder rumbled, and a harsh wind blew. the black dragons all roared with thier masters.

"it is time. begin chanting." Xerxes grinned. Anyanca then started chanting. the black dragons were silent. as Anyanca chanted, Xerxes turned to the black dragons. "kill them." he said with an evil grin. the black dragons turned to the others, eager to follow orders.

"i have an objection to that!" Artica snarled. then she froze the chains with ice. "now!" they all broke the chains, and prepared themselves for battle.

"what are you waiting for?! kill them now!" Xerxes roared. the black dragons roared, and then attacked.

"we'll take care of them! you stop Xerxes and Anyanca!" Goldrune hollered to the young dragons. then she, Goldscale, and Nightiron flew up into the sky. the black dragons followed. the three of them fought off the black dragons. Xerxes faced the young dragons, and laughed.

"do you really think you can stop me?! i am indestructable agaisnt such pathetic dragons!" he boasted.

"we'll see about that!" Artica growled. the others stood with her, ready for battle.

"come and get me then!" Xerxes laughed. then Artica, Flare, Inferno, Goldheart, and Ironstone charged at him. they each rammed him with thier horns. Xerxes was knocked off his feet, but soon recovered. he then struck back, knocking away each dragon with a swing of his tail. Anyanca continued chanting.

"we have to keep her from chanting!" Flare called out.

"i have an idea! follow my lead!" Inferno replied. he then ran up to Anyanca. "hey, old hag! you too dumb to fight back?!" he mocked. she turned with an angry glare.

"how dare you mock me!" she growled. then she spit acid at him. Goldheart teleported in front of him, and raised his shield.

"na na na na na na!" he teased, spitting out his tounge. Anyanca growled, and rushed at them to attack.

"hey, you ugly crypt creeper! over here!" Ironstone yelled from behind. Anyanca looked back, and swiped with her tail. Ironstone jumped to avoid the attack.

"all the time you spent planning hasn't helped your aim lady!" Flare yelled from her right. Anyanca turned, and spit acid. "missed again!" Flare spit her tounge out after dodging the attack.

"over here moron!" Artica yelled from her left. Anyanca turned, and shot acid again. once again, she missed. "haha! you're horrible at this!" she laughed.

"enough!" Xerxes roared. then with a gust of wind, the young dragons were blown off the side of the mountain. they used thier wings to save themselves, and then flew back to the mountain. then they flew around in a frenzy.

"bet you can't catch us!" they all yelled, swiftly flying about.

"we'll see about that!" Xerxes growled.

oh boy they are only making things worse. I hope they have a plan.

well, right now, it looks like thier plan is "mock the dragons and make them mad"

i see but wonder if thats gonna help them out or not hahaha

with an angry roar, Xerxes let out a fear breath attack. the young dragons flew close together and were protected by Goldheart's shield. then he and Inferno countered with fire. Anyanca countered with shadowfire. Ironstone countered with wind. then Artica attacked with ice. Anyanca and Xerxes dodged. they they spit acid. the young dragons darted in all directions to avoid the attack. then they surrounded Anyanca and Xerxes.
"na na na na na na!" they all teased. then Xerxes faced one way, while Anyanca faced the other. they blew the young ones away with wind. the young dragons turned around and came back faster, ramming the two with thier horns. Anyanca and Xerxes backed into each other. then they rushed forward, swiping at the young dragons. " na na na na na na!" they continued to chant as they flew all around. then they stopped for a moment, and spit thier tounges out. Anya and Xerxes growled, and flew after them. the youngs darted in all directions once more.
"you can't catch all of us!" Flare giggled.
"yeah, we're too fast for you two old timers!" Artica teased. Anyanca and Xerxes raced after them, trying to attack, but they kept missing. the young dragons darted in all directions, and then proceded to attack with fire, ice, and poison. they attacked from all sides. what at first seemed like five small dragons now seemed like an army of swift attackers. Anyanca and Xerxes turned in all directions to attack, but somehow always missed. they got wrapped up in each other, and plummeted to the mountain. the young dragons surrounded them.
"give up yet?" Ironstone asked. they got up, and growled.
"didn't think you would." Goldheart said.
"besides, what fun would that be?" Inferno chuckled.
"i've had enough of this!" Xerxes roared as he began to glow.
"time for us to have some fun." Anyanca grinned evily as she glowed also. then Artica and Flare started to glow.
"get into position!" Inferno yelled. then Artica and Flare landed beside each other. the guys flew off to the side, out of the way, and Goldheart put up his shield. then Xerxes and Anyanca joined paws, rose up, and prepared to unleash a fury.

great two great battles in two great stories. nice more more!!! LOL

a wave of darkness shot out from the two dragons and destroyed everything it hit, turning it to dust. the guys were knocked backward from the blast, but unharmed because of the Goldheart's sheild. they stayed together, and Goldheart reenforced his shield. then another wave shot out. but this one was diffrent. it wasn't black, it was purple, mixed with red and blue. the blast surprised Anyanca and Xerxes. it knocked them right off of the mountain. they plummeted to the ground, and landed with a thud. soon the mountain began to crumble. bits and pieces of it began to fall to the ground. then dead black dragon bodies fell to the ground as Goldrune, Goldscale, and Nightiron defeated the enemy. the mountain broke off even more, bigger rocks fell to the ground. soon the entire structure plummeted to the earth on top of the enemy.
"we did it!" Ironstone yelled with glee, thinking they had won.
"great job, girls!" Inferno smiled and Artica and Flare who flew over to them. the aura that surrounded them faded. Goldheart's shield went down.
"thanks." Flare smiled.
"nothing to it really." Artica smirked. then the rocks moved as two figures came shooting out. then there were two angry roars.
"you think you've won?! well, think again!" Xerxes roared.
"this battle is far from over!" Anyanca added. the two raced towards the unsuspecting young dragons. with fierce anger and brute force, they struck without mercy.
"leave them alone!" Goldrune, Goldscale, and Nightiron flew to the rescue. Anyanca and Xerxes turned on them, attacking in any way that they could. with strong physical attacks and powerful elements, they overcame the three heros.
"now it is your time to die!" Anyanca growled. with sharp fangs and a pointed tail, she injected poison into Goldrune, Goldscale, and Nightiron. then Xerxes tore at thier wings, and stabbed them in the stomach with his tail. they each plummeted to the ground.
"who's next?" Xerxes growled, turning to the little ones.
"you." Artica said in a dark tone. the five of them roared, and charged at Anyanca and Xerxes.

oh no their parents are defeated well at least ironstones are. artica and flare better step up their game.

yes. the battle continues. five young dragons vs. two adults.
