Kappa was mean to me too. A couple months back k told him to stop being mean to Aura, and he blocked me and told me she was evil. He then called me an idiot.

I wonder if dark52 will communicate with the moderators about certain problems occuring on the forums and other site-related things. He has been keeping to himself for a long time.

Spyrobeta can irritate me. Just because Spyro is gone does not give her the reason to hate. I don't get the Spyro's look hate either. Have they SEEN DotD? (He does not look bad, only drastically different

I'm not running. I'm not on enough and I don't have the time to devote to modding.

I can somehow see very few people actually being willing to apply. I'm fairly certain a number of users who currently get away with harassing other members (spyrobeta, for example) will be very quick to turn on any new moderators for "constantly policing." Which, of course, is one of the moderators' jobs. The other key one is responding to questions, concerns, and issues like those brought up Site Help & Suggestions. Either they have the ability to fix the bugs or problems being reported or they can forward the stuff onto dark so he can take care of it.

I give most everyone on the site a week tops as for how long they could handle the job to the letter.

I have the capability of being a moderator. but I doubt people would want me to. I have successfully ran forums and websites for 10 or more years now. I like everyone and am generally unbiased. But I just don't see the community wanting me to, so if it were up to popularity contest I'd be out. I was considering running if it happened, until I reflected on that and then decided to make my own Skylanders-oriented website and forums, because some people here who are older Skylander fans want a more moderated type place to talk without all of the trolling and spamming. I still may run if the applications are open and I qualify, but I just doubt I'd get any sort of position.

Uh... I don't think we're voting. Oh snaps... is it time for that debate? I don't think there should be a vote, because there will be some serious bias in the wrong directions. <.<

Oh, I completely agree. people would just vote for their friends.

Exactly. It should have nothing to do with how well like... actually, it helps if they're well liked. But if a mod is going to "go easy" on his or her friends then that is clearly the wrong person for the job. @.@

Dark should obviously just choose the mods himself, no way voting would go well.

I do think that if you are well known it can even be a minus , it depends. But in my mind mod/mods should be as objective as possible and if you are well known it can be hard to be objective. But i trust that Dark knows what he is doing , he is going to choose people who can handle the power and people who can even ban their own friends if their have to .

But i really hope that he can see those who are only wanting this because of the reputation , it sounds easy to see those people but it is not . I am in politics so i can say this from experience , it is really hard to find those people who are just trying to make their own situation better . And if someone is thinking that it is completely different thing ... well only thing i can say it is not. The goals of those people are different , but the ways are the same.

Mods can have both good and bad reputations, depending on the users. For example, if CAV was appointed mod, then some users here won't like him due to him enforcing the rules to remind users when they do something that's against the rules, and him deleting rule-breaking content, while other users would like him for helping to keep the forums orderly.

I have been as mod too , and it was mostly like this (for me ) : Your friends do not care so much , young and new users are trying to be friends whit you only because of the fact you are a mod , and the old users(Mostly the people who are always "playing" at the edge of the rules)are maybe even starting to hate you. This is how i saw it when i where a mod.
But like Aura said it can bring bad or good reputation.

I sincerely hope that that doesn't happen.

That's one conflict I don't like with being mod: people will look at me different. If I'm on a different account, I can't tell people to not do it. And people won't know it's me.

there is an easy fix for this. and since i'm a nice guy i will tell you for free!

the first thing you're going to want to do is sign out......this is a very simple process. in the upper righthand corner where your username is there is a word. it says logout. click it.

now this is the tricky part.

you will then type in your mod username and password and click sign in.

boom! problem solved. no need to thank me.
