Chapter 3: Ancient Clues - start

Chapter summary:
The group travelled for two days until they came across the old palace in which the High Drayga once lived. The group finds themselves in the old Great Library, looking for clues as to what 'Ssssssssenkrad' means. They also try to find more information on Cleekrin and how crystals work. Someone finds out that it's three days until the 1st of Yraunaj, the date in which they have to summon Solas. They find some sort of stairwell taking them to an underground dungeon. That is where they get ambushed...

"We really should get where we have to go, this place creeps me out" Virtu said

"Its ok sis, but this is a creepy place guys" Ki said

Kihei followed Kumara closely "Kumara, are you sure about this?" He asked

"Yeah, this is where our ancestors once lived, which means there has to be some sort of information within these walls," Kumara replied. She turned a corner and found a large room with a no longer working fountain in its centre. This must have been the ball room, not that is was used much.

Frocious found himself using his powers to make the fountain work again. It was powered by a crystal, and when Frocious forced his water energy into it, the fountain began to spurt water again.
"Ha, it used one of those crystals as an energy source, wander if we can find out more about them in this place."

"Maybe we can find out if we have special powers Ki" Virtu said

"I'm fine with what I can do, you should too sis" Ki said

Kihei smiled, he imagined dancing in the ball room with Kumara "Ok then K'ara, as long as you're happy" He said

Kumara blushed at the nickname, "yeah... We should... Look for more clues... Yeah that's what we should do!" She then walked over to a corridor and looked down it. At the end was a door, decorated in gold patterns of vines around its edges. There was a large hole in its centre though.
"Let's look through here!" She said to the others

Kihei followed, as did Ki and Virtu "Our ancestors really liked extravagant scenery" Kihei said

"Alright, stay close everyone," Kumara said while listening for movement. She then entered the room and found that it was a library.

"Wow, that's a lot of books..." Frocious muttered amazed, "who exactly would want to read all of these?"

"Gladly" Kihei said as he got close to Kumara

Ki and Virtu were right behind Frocious

"I see.." Frocious replied fascinated, "we should look for information on the crystals, that way we can get an idea on how we should summon Solas."

Kumara nodded, "I'm going to find out what 'Senkrad' means. That shadow creature said something about it, as if it was desperate."

"Me too" Kihei said

Ki and Virtu followed Frocious

The wolf looked for an isle which held information on ancient artefacts while Kumara searched a book with a list of all the books in the room.
"It looks like it's under places..." She said confused. Why would a creature tell them a place?

"Don't use too much energy" Kihei told Icestorm "Why would a creature be listed under places... Unless they all come from one place"

Ki and Virtu followed Frocious and saw something in one isle "Um, I think I see a book on the floor over there... And its glowing" Virtu said

Frocious carefully headed towards the book, "umm, would you like to pick it up?" He asked the two foxes sheepishly.

"Let's look down the places isle," Kumara said before wandering off through the library. She soon found the isle.
"Look for 's's," she said, beginning her search.

"I would," Blitz said. "All of these books are like my dream come true!" She walked toward the legends section.

"Oh, for Solas's sake. You just have to read the least helpful stuff," Skyward complained.

"Be quiet!" Blitz hissed. "This stuff might be useful!"

Kumara searched quietly, until she found what she was looking for, "Senkrad... Looks like I found it," she said interested in its contents.
"Have you found anything else?"

Ki and Virtu walked over to the glowing book and opened it "Guys... This isn't a book, its a case of crystals, each one has a different color and rune on them... My runes are a little rusty, but I think these are our names" Ki said

Kihei smiled "That's great K'ara, what's it say?" He asked as he held the book with Kumara

Kumara flicked through the pages. It was a short book, but looked important.
"Senkrad is the capital of the Dark Lands, home to many unknown creatures and plants. The whole region is a thick forest full of carnivorous flora and many large insects. Senkrad is the regions 'safe' zone. Somewhere where the plants seem to avoid and no creatures dare to go," she flicked through some pages before finding a strange chapter named 'God of Night', "Senkrad is said to be where Cleekrin... Holy Solas! It's him! It talks about Cleekrin!" She shouted surprised but happy at the same time.

Frocious looked down at the crystals and picked up the light blue one. Sure enough, his name was carved into the gem with ancient ruins, "I wonder what this is all about..." He whispered quietly, "let's bring these to the others!" He was about to leave when he noticed a small book inside the case. He quickly picked it up and ran to the front desk where the others were also reading a book. By this time he heard the name 'Cleekrin' and knew it was important.

Virtu closed the case and ran back to the group, as did Ki "Everyone, grab the crystal with your name on it" Ki said as Virtu opened the case and the siblings took the crystals with their names

"We might be able to stop this with the information and the crystals" Kihei said "We can do it K'ara!"

"I hope so..." Kumara replied before picking up a black crystal with her name on it. She studied it for a bit before deciding to continue reading before inspecting the crystal.
"Senkrad is said to be where Cleekrin's spiritual presence is strongest, and some creatures would give sacrifices to him on an alter in hopes that the God of Night would return and give them immortality."

Skyward looked for the Crystal with her name on it. "This one is Icestorm's, so the other yellow one nut be mine," she reasoned, picking up the Crystal. "Hey, my name means 'willing to achieve' in the ancient language!"

Kihei grabbed his "It feels so cold" He said

"I feel like mine is melting into me" Ki said

Virtu giggled "Mine tickles"

Frocious also began reading the book he found. It seemed to be a notebook with diary entry's in it, "guys, it says here that there was a prophecy... About us!"

"What does it say?" Ki said

Kihei gave Kumara her crystal "Here you go K'ara" He said

"It says that... Drayga had insisted for me to create these damn jewels, leading me to believe they would come in handy for the future. Of course I agreed to his wish as it is my duty to comply, however he still doesn't trust me enough to tell me of the vision he had... something about how they were created... Ah! Here we go... its happening, the Great War of the Shadows has begun and I must act quickly. I've already put all the gems into a case along with this notebook. Drayga finally told me of our fate... We will all perish in the next year, leaving the territories destroyed and many of the race's will be dead. However, the disappearing-of-the-sun will still affect us all and eventually the God of Night will take over... To those who find this, it is 3 days before the 1st of Yraunaj and you must get a move on. I must warn you... This building is a trap, and you must leave!" Frocious stood still.
"What now?"
Kumara looked at Icestorm, "you were right, this place is dangerous and we must leave." She turned around before the door slammed shut and locked.

Blitz charged into the door, planning to knock it down. "Blitz, wait!" Skyward yelled, but Blitz was already knocked cold by the crash.

"This is bad" Ki said

"How will we escape?" Kihei asked

"I don't know.." Kumara said unsure.
"Guys! There is a staircase here!" Frocious called out to the others, "it could be dangerous... But it also might be the way out!"
At the same time, The Shadow Creatures began stalking towards them, Pushing the hero's towards the stairs leading down. Their eyes were a cold blue and an angry red.

"I got this then" Kihei said before he used an ice attack on all of the Shadow Creatures that were nearby

Flain sent out a giant fireball, knocking back a couple of shadow creatures. "Someone get Blitz!" he yelled. "I can't get her and neither can Skyward!"

Kumara darted forward and rammed through some creatures to get to Blitz, "you OK?" She asked. The creatures began to form a line, further limiting their chances of escape.
"Everyone except The ice and fire creatures must go down the stairs!" Frocious yelled before letting loose an ice attack.
Kumara helped Blitz get to the stairs.

Ki grabbed Blitz from Kumara and headed downstairs, Ki wasn't far behind

Kihei kept using ice attacks on the Shadow Creatures

A few disappeared, only to be replaced by more.
"It's no use! They keep coming back!" Frocious growled and launched another attack.
Kumara also ran downstairs, glancing back every few seconds, before finding the others in a room full of cells. This seemed to be the castles dungeon.

((Not everyone is down there yet, you would have trapped Kihei, Frocious, and some others))

Kihei kept attacking "We've got to at least give the others a chance to gain some ground" He said

"We can't hold off much longer! Guys, we have to go!" Frocious said as he saw creatures with white eyes entered through walls.

Kihei created a wall of ice between them and the creatures "Lets get out of here!"

The creatures then stopped attacking and watched the hero's as they backed away. None made a move.

Meanwhile...
"I don't like this..." Kumara said looking around the corridor lined with prison cells. She began to slowly walk down the hall.
"It could be dangerous!" Frocious growled.
"I heard something... Whimpering?" She replied.
