Firefly turned to face him and quietly listened to his explanation. Portal? He came through a portal? No wonder he doesn't know about the darkness. He probably wouldn't have seen it if he came from another world entirely. Now I'm curious about this other world, and whether or not he's even a dragon. I guess that doesn't matter right now, though.

"Oh, wow. That sounds exciting. You really have traveled a long way. I've never been through a portal, but I imagine that the experience could take a lot out of someone." Firefly said. She then got out some fish she had been saving, and offered it to Umbrius, in case he wanted something besides fruit.

"I haven't heard anything about you, though. So if your elder talked to Cenor, then he didn't mention you. Although, it's possible that your elder talked to a different elder, perhaps one that I don't even know." She said. Unless the elders completely forgot about him, or just forgot to mention him. That's also a possibility.

"But I do know what's going on. In fact, I was trying to leave the city in order to do something about it. A group has already left the city to try to fix the problem, but I wasn't exactly allowed to go. Still, I am determined to help, I just need to find a way out of the city. Maybe you can help me out with that."

Firefly blinked and quietly watched Umbrius for a moment. That odd paw motion he made, plus that strange language he was whispering caught her attention. I've never seen someone do that before eating. I wonder what that was about. I couldn't quite hear everything he whispered, but it didn't sound like a language I'm familiar with. Then again, he did say he came from another world. But I suppose that doesn't matter right now. There are more important things to worry about.

Firefly then took a deep breath. "While traveling, my guardian and I noticed that darkness is spreading over the land. With it comes these... Creatures. Dark creatures, I'm assuming, judging by appearance and behavior. I don't know the cause of all of this, or the reason why this is all happening, but these creatures have been attacking innocents. For awhile, they seemed to only come out at night, but just recently, we discovered one during the day. It also was in the middle of the city, and somehow managed to get past the guards. These creatures seem to have gotten stronger and more aggressive. In order to put a stop to all this, Cenor asked a group of young dragons to head out and fight the darkness. They left earlier today."

Firefly paused as she took a book out of her satchel. She opened it up and began skimming through the pages. "Ever since I first noticed the darkness, I have been studying it, trying to find out what might be happening. I've compared it to past known instances of darkness spreading to find similarities. It is quite possible that a higher power is behind all this, possibly controlling the creatures that we have been seeing here." She explained. She then closed up her book and put it back in her satchel. "That is what we know so far. I could probably figure out more, if I could get close enough to study the darkness further." She then sighed. "But of course, since I lack in fighting skill, I was left behind. However, I don't intend on staying here."

She was then quiet for a moment, her curiosity growing stronger as a question lingered in the back of her mind. She then cleared her throat. "Anyway... If you don't mind me asking... What was that you were doing, before taking the fish and eating it? I mean, I realize that it's really none of my business, but it was intriguing. I mean, I've never seen anyone do that before..." She spoke quietly.

Firefly listened closely, and became quite interested when Umbrius mentioned what he was. Dark Realmer? So he's essentially a dark creature from another world. I knew he looked different, but I suppose that confirms it. He's not only from another world, but possibly not even a dragon. Is that why I sense nervousness from him? Logically, it would make sense. If he really is a dark creature, others will misjudge him and possibly see him as an enemy. Since he was sent here to help, this could really be a problem. Too bad the others can't sense what I sense.

She smiled a bit at his response to her question. "That's... Actually kind of sweet. I like that idea, thanking creatures you kill for food. I've never thought to do that, but then again, I'm not usually the one that does all the hunting. My guardian normally does the hunting, while I gather fruits and the like." She said. I've never really liked hunting. It's hard to kill your prey, when you can sense their fear and feel their pain. I just can't bring myself to hurt them, when I can feel what they feel.

Firefly was then quiet for a moment. It bothered her, sensing his nerves. She wanted to ease his mind, and she had a pretty good idea why he was nervous, but she wasn't quite sure how to bring it up. She didn't want to possibly seem rude for essentially intruding on his emotions, although she had little choice in the matter. Plus, she would have to explain how she knew, and she didn't fully understand her own powers. So she decided to try a different approach. "Um, are you okay? I don't mean to pry, but you seem... A bit down. Is there anything I can do?" She asked softly. And don't lie to me, because I'll know if you are.

Aretis had caught these creature's movements easily with his vision. Easy. These creatures weren't dark, they were just ones travelers ought to be wary of. Sneaky little cutpurse creatures that would more likely pickpocket your shiny things than brutally eviscerate you. He silently moved through the grass, readying a little light blast. He would wait until they were almost to where Shade was and then spring out, scaring them off.

Aretis let out his little light bomb package while grinning. A little orb rolled in the middle of the group of dark creatures and then exploded into a blinding light. Aretis made sure to turn his own head and eyes away from the explosion and immediately weaken his photoreceptors so he too, wouldn't be blinded. A second after the light blast he strengthened them again and flew upward, looking at the dazed creatures and began picking them off with light beams hotter than a burning flame.

Aretis blinked and killed the last of them. "Sorry. Didn't mean it. Uh, Starz, could you get some water and some wet rags?" he asked.

"Yeah. But the flesh is gonna be pretty hot. We'll still need to cool it down at some point." He pointed out.

Aretis sighed. "Sorry. I thought you were a dark creature." Aretis teased, rolling his eyes and then sighed and let Starz do the healing stuffs. He merely flew back to his own cave and resumed his position after stifilng a yawn.

OOC: Spyroconvexity's actions have a ripple effect and I am leaving as well. Others may follow.

That same night, Bikil had left as well. Shade may have been solitary before, but he at least now had a friend-- and a friend who wouldn't undermine his every action.

Aretis looked at Shade and Bikil silently leaving through the night, but he did not stop them. Aretis blinked and looked ahead, hoping that this journey would end better than it started.

ooc: AB told me that she wants to drop out of the rp, and I think I may join her. To save some space, I'm just going to make a quick summary post here to get our characters out of the way. Still, good luck with the rp.

Omen had already snuck off on his own while the others had been asleep. He had used his shadow element to slip out of his cave undetected, and managed to leave just before the creatures even showed up. He quickly flew off, and started heading back towards Ceeador. When he finally reached the house, he found it empty. There was no sign on Firefly. He went to his bedroom and found a note laying on the bed, next to a strange amethyst colored orb that glowed with a mystifying aura. He picked up the note and began to read it.

Omen, I'm sure you're worried sick, wondering where I am. Don't panic, I'm fine. I met a new friend recently. He came through a portal from another world. I couldn't help but be curious, so I asked him a lot of questions. After some time, he offered to show me what it was like. It sounded exciting, so I couldn't wait to see it for myself. This orb will transport you to where I am now. Just hold it in your talons and squeeze gently. You should then teleport right to me. I'll see you then. Firefly.

After he overcame his shock, Omen decided to pick up the orb. He had to know where Firefly was, and he had to make sure that she was safe. So he took a deep breath and gently squeezed the orb. Then suddenly, Omen disappeared from the house, shrouded in a veil of purple mist.

Aretis yawned in his sleep. "No." he moaned. "There's no training today!" He said and then his eyes lazily opened. He glanced around a bit, his groggy mind starting to work a little bit. He realized where he was. Crap. Not a bad dream. His mind groaned. Aretis stretched his forearms like a cats and stretched his body until he felt sharp tingly pains. It got him awake and warmed up his body a bit. He got out of the cave after a quick brush up and saw Starz. "G'morning." He said.

"It's okay. We had to have been getting close. We'd been flying all day. Are you okay?" He asked, nuzzling her cheek. Then he looked out at where she pointed.

"Sounds good. Let's get moving." Aretis said, going back into the cave and gathering up the supplies and putting everything away. Then he went to the entrance of the cave and spread his wings. "Ready?"

Aretis took flight, flying alongside Starz as they headed to Azicium.

Aretis nodded silently and took in the view. It was quite a beautiful sight. Also, a good sight that there were markets and stores which meant supplies. Also they had inns. And inns meant a nice warm comfy bed and some excellent breakfast to wake up to.

So. Much. Purple. Aretis was astonished in the daylight. Also, way too many mushrooms. I wonder if everyone here has an...obsession with them or something. I certainly hope not. Mushrooms aren't on my favorite foods list but I do like it when they're in nice broth. Aretis thought to himself as he landed with Starz near the border of the city.
