I am very fond of Volteer and Ignitus. Volteer is too much like me not to like, and Ignitus is so emo all the time, you just want to give him a hug.

Don't like Cyril, though. I wouldn't have minded him, but he made one comment that just went too far.

When I played the game I didn't even noticed that comment. I laughed when I read it! (yes it has gone too far)

Actually, Cyril's comment was a personal one. When he's training Spyro to use his ice breath in the Dojo, he makes a remark something like "Even a blind dragon meets with success once in a while". I was rather distressed to hear that. On the one hand, I know that the game's writers probably never thought blind people would be playing this, but, regardless, statements like that just push the cause of the independent blind back. You guys really don't know what I go through daily, the way people react to me and treat me, the struggles that exist in my life not because I am blind but because of the way people think about blindness. It was very upsetting to find such an ignorant, uneducated remark in a game that's supposed to be fun. Worse still, I know a lot of younger kids will play this game and that one line will have an effect on what they think of people who are blind.

Granted, Cyril's a jerk no matter how you look at him (even the other Guardians don't seem to like him much), but that statement was unnecessary and more damaging than most people realize.

Terrador and Ignitus are my faves (It's in my signature.).

Spyro Fanatic, please tell me you did not just say that. That statement is what's known as a stereotype and it is false on so many levels. It's also incredibly offensive. I am blind and the only time I don't know what I'm doing is when I'm new at something, just like anyone else.

Okay, maybe I'm doing a mistake but...

Frankly, I do not believe that what Cyril said was THAT much of a big deal. It was just an insult that Cyril thrown at Spyro among others. It was just there to show how much Cyril is arrogant, disrespectful, and ignorant. I frankly don't think it was meant to be some kind of jab at all blind people in the world.

Also, I fail to see in how what Spyro Fanatic turned out so offensive. All he did was point out an alternative meaning for the insult that Cyril thrown at Spyro. So... why are you taking it personally?

Now, apart from the mini-modding, I actually have a proper contribution to the thread's original topic.

I'm pretty much tied between Ignitus and Volteer when it comes to my favorite Guardian.

Ignitus is slightly cliched but just come off as so loveable and convincing in-game. Gotta love his overall attitude and melo-drama... and most of all, his reactions to Spyro's antics.

Volteer, him, is actually quite original and funny. I mean, he's a large dragon whose personality is a mix between mad scientist, a walking thesaurus, and a hyperactive motor mouth. How can you not like him?

Cyril and Terrador are rather meh to me.

Cyril is a character I love to hate ; arrogant to the highest point, confident that his ancestry make him superior. The fact that he come off as slightly cliched as Ignitus but doesn't have antics nearly as interesting regarding Spyro is what shoot him down ultimately.

Terrador is probably the worst. He's not bad but he come off as the most cliched and unlike the others, he came off as boring to me. He feels like Ignitus minus the funny melodrama and attitude. Oh and with extra helpings of ridiculous-sounding honor-obsessed mentor speeches doesn't help.

That was my opinion.

I believe I said in my original statement that I know that line wasn't meant as a personal insult and that it just emphasizes that Cyril is a jerk. Doesn't mean I have to like it, though, and I do get very sick of getting caught off guard by stereotypes where they shouldn't be.

The way Spyro Fanatic worded his comment makes it look like it's got nothing to do with Cyril and that "inept" is another definition of blind (which is absolutely not true). He either means exactly what it looks like he means, or he just needs to clarify better. Either way, he needs to be the one explaining what he really meant if it was misinterpreted.

Back on topic, I found Terrador highly amusing. He's the one character who is possibly more emo than Ignitus. Also, I loved his horns and crazy dragon beard.
