So I get done riding my 4wheeler, I park it under our shelter, and sure enough there's a juvenile rattlesnake right in front of it. So, I get our .22 rifle out of my dad's truck and I pop him twice in the head. His head is basically turned inside out, you can see his brains and throat and everything. I have a pic of him on my phone, I'll see if I can't upload it.

For those of you who don't know, juvenile snakes are more dangerous than adults, because the adults release a small amount of venom with each bite, while juveniles drain all their venom with a single bite.

Snakes are likely to be crawling this time of year. Some tips:

Stay out of weeds and tall grass.
Try not to wear open-toed shoes or sandals when walking in known snake territory.
Don't let small children or pets walk outside unsupervised.
If you must venture into known snake territory, carry some kind of weapon on hand.

I wasn't gloating so much as just sharing the story. Anyone else here would probably post a topic about it, too. And like I said, I have dogs that go outside, I had a good reason to kill that thing.
