I found a Scarlet Ninjini at P-n-T and it was 40$! Right next to the sign that said: All giants 11$! So I asked the guy and he was like: Uh yeah it is cuz it is a Magic Skylander. And I was just done, he obviously didnt know what he was talking about. True Story.

Same sort of thing happened to me a couple of weeks back. An internet site here in Australia advertised single SSA figures for $6.95 each, and they even had Wham-Shell and Boomer.

Is it possible? I guess so, even though beyond unlikely. But based on the claim that seems far off to me, and the complete lack of details, I do not find it believable.

How did he know it was $40? Did it have a price tag on it? Did he take it to the cashier?

If it had an incorrect tag on it then take it to checkout anyway and ask. If I found something I wanted to buy and it rang up wrong at checkout, I would ask for a Manager or go to customer service. Not just go "oh this guy who obviously doesn't know what he is talking about said so. There is nothing wrong with asking to speak to someone else.

Also, I do not know what kind of store or the location of such store as P-n-T is, but I assume this is a major retailer as Op stated it by name and not by "this small shop down the street". I can not believe anyone walking into Toys"R"Us in the states and having the store sell a figure at scalper price, and frankly more than ebay has them listed for currently. And if it did happen to ring up wrong, for the employee to just pass it off. Never heard anyone at Gamestop actually try to push the $999 price on Sidekicks during that promotion.

So if it was a price tag, Pics or it didn't happen. And if it was at the cashier, no reason to not ask for someone else to speak to.

That's a pretty clueless thing to say... "Pics or it didn't happen" means that something unbelievable has been stated, and without proof we aren't going to believe it, so we're requesting pictures. Ancient Egypt has plenty of proof. So your example doesn't apply here.

Sure, people can ease up on all of the "I don't believe you" posts, but that doesn't change the fact that there is some doubt to the original story. It's not unreasonable to request proof for unlikely stories, this isn't the place for made up stories. And made up stories need to be portrayed as such.

Everyone makes typos and mistakes, by the way. And besides that, he STILL has a point that just because a story is unbelievable, which IMO it really isn't that unbelievable, that it's no excuse to be jerks about it.

Yeah typing on a glitchy cell phone with no spell check tends to lead to some typos, I admit that. But MugoUrth said it exactly. None of us know if the story is true or not, which is what I was trying to iterate. It is one thing to state that you do not believe a person, that is perfectly okay and acceptable people have that right, it is another to make belittling comments for no reason.

It seems like useres here on this site have no respect for other users. It's really sad and I'm surprised that is allowed to get to the extremes that it has. Why are these posts and the users not getting suspended. And I repeat, it is perfectly okay to say you disagree with somebody or say that you do not believe them. That is an opinion. It is another thing to tease them or belittle them with disrespectful comments worthy of 8 year olds that haven't learned any respect or the way that society runs. There are quite a few users I see constantly harassing and leaving nothing but hateful negative comments for no reason. Why? You guys really need to grow up.

I've seen plenty of rudeness on this site in my time reading here and then being a member. I don't see this as that offensive. People seem to be stating their opinion. There are a couple posters who took the time to explain why it's not believable.
I won't say everybody---(clearly not everybody)---but many people come here for real information and to share their real experiences and information--to help each other find what they are looking for. When people post things that are for attention and could be misleading to others--it's frustrating. Anyway--I agree we should be respectful of one another but we should also be honest. If you want to play a game of some kind there are plenty threads where that is appropriate.

I think Shelly did a GREAT job describing the sentiment among most users here that generates scorn for those who post attention-seeking messages and/or unverifiable BS:

Unless some sort of mass trolling has been organised, I think that we can trust this because there are several users with the same report.

And even if not, there is no reason for so many users to be so rude about it(a bit hypocritical on my part, but I'm trying my best to hold it back...). There is no proof, so what, don't get in a hissy fit. It's not like the user is doing anything harmful if they ARE lying(unless someone gets turned off from buying Skylanders at all by this story, which is just ridiculous).

Off topic / getting WAY out of hand.

I know that language is horrid on the internet, heck among my friends I probably have the worst mouth when it comes to language and severity of topics, but there is a difference between cursing and being disrespectful or not. My friends and I for example can have a conversation about people that rape dead babies, but that dose not mean we aren't aware of the people around us and how it affects others. If somebody has a problem with something we do the respectful thing and talk about the differences, come to a conclusion, and or stop. We will even have the conversation later if we have to. We don't verbally cut people down and sure as heck don't attack people for a story or and idea, whether it be true or not. If you truly disagree or don't believe somebody you can either politely say that or do not say anything and move on to a different topic. People get downgraded all the time here and put down for no reason. People seem to attack others because they do not know the simple saying of if you don't a have anything nice 'or constructive' to say don't say anything at all.

I expect people to have decency and remain a level of professionalism. Especially, since this site is public and gets a lot of traffic from the younger crowds. There is an age requirement to post and be a user for a reason. With age, in theory comes responsibility. Professionalism people.

Though I appear as a friendly, nice person on the outside, inside I am rather hateful and cynnical. I admit this.

I actually find the story believeable. A bit odd, but believeable.

I have a friend who owned a PnT that has since gotten out of his franchise contract

I find it completely believable. PnT is not corporate controlled and distribution for them is not good at all. My friend had decent distrubution for SSA, but for some reason Gianta distro stunk.
Most of the their skylanders are bought from other retail outlets and restickered.

When I would go on the hunt I would stop by and he would give me $$$ that he wanted to spend on them.
I would go to other retailers having sales and bring them back to him.
When I scored store exclusives he would charge a little more for them. If he knows a particular character is hard to find he will price them higher as well. GitDs were sold at ebay prices.
The only time I objected to it was the first couple of weeks ninjini was out, I scored him 6.
He held them behind the counter with a sign "ninjini available"
I saw him sell one to an adult for $30. I told him if I ever saw him charge a kid or a parent that much, I would never buy for him again.
Adult collectors I could care less about, especially when the hunt has been made. But kids and parents just trying to make their kids happy (like me) is another thing.

There is nothing stopping an independant Retailer from charging more than Manufaturer Suggested Retail Price.
