What is the highest amount of money you've paid to get a single figurine, and what is the maximum amount you're willing to pay?
Highest amount I've paid so far is $50 for Scarlet Ninjini. I'm willing to pay something between $50 and $100 for some rare variants, but I don't think I will ever go beyond $100.

$10 for any given single pack. I've never paid more than retail and only get a triple pack if I want at least 2 of the figures.
The highest I would pay would probably be $30 and that's only for a Scorpion Striker or Darklight Crypt pack. Otherwise, I just personally wouldn't pay much more than average retail.

Highest i paid was Ghost Roaster for $40 since its hard to find here in canada and 2nd highest i paid is Gnarly Tree Rex for $35, i rather pay $35 for a Gnarly Tree Rex than buying the Blue Wii Skylanders Giants Edition and the Ps3 Slim Skylanders Giants Edition.

Quite right...I thought $300 was expensive and it keeps going up from there...most I've paid is about $250 for my Pearl Hex. Most I've paid for a "common" is $50 for Boomer/Darklight Crypt in da box, followed by $30ish for the Punch, Gnarly, GITD Frights, Dark Spyro etc. From what I hear the Silver Boomer goes for around $300 these days. Oh my. What's my max? I think Employe Prism or Silver Boomer might test the upper threshold. If you're going to buy variants...setting a threshold is kinda stupid if you've committed yourself to the task...for the commons DC and Boomer and variants not released in US is about the only thing I can justify not paying retail for--then again it all depends on when u join the Skylander Circus. For the "real"/normal folks and everyone else not in the variant circus---> If you're catching up, you will either have to draw the line or be prepared to cough up some dough. No right or wrong answer. To the OP: I'm assuming the pic of your Emp Prism Break isn't yours since you aren't going to spend more than $100.

Recently got Employee Prism Break, $300 for EMPB, that's my max for him, $250 would be for PH, then $150 for stones, metallics, chrome, golds, silvers, and crystal clears, $125 for LC PB snow white, $100 for the glitters, $85 for snow white flocks, $20 for Frito Lay Flocked Stumpy, that's the chase.
The other variants (crystal colored - blue red green jade, gnarly, scarlet, punch, dark, polar, legendary, lightcores, molten, GiTD etc) $10 to $25. Scarlet being the highest at $22. Red DS lowest at $6. Volcanic Vault, I really do not know, I have not researched it enough but going rates seem to be $20 to $40. Every other figure or piece would be retail. Just gotta hunt for them. Great job on the music vids, are you part of the music team?

£20 at most for any one Skylander. I collect variants within my means but would never pay stupid amounts for them ('stupid amounts' is subjective to the individual, obviously, it might not be stupid amounts for some people here if they earn a lot or if it just feels worth it to them). To me, even a flocked/snow flocked/pearl/ect isn't worth more than £25 to me at max. Battle packs/triple packs/adventure packs, £35 max.

highest so far was SSA 3-pack with boomer, voodood and prism break at $45-$50. , Followed by the SSA 3-pack of zap,hex and dinorang at $45-$50. Wanted to finish SSA so i took what I could get. I bought a blue wii for gnarly but I wanted the wii remote, nunchunk and the game so it worked out fine. $40 for the royal double trouble pack which seeing how that game is, is overpriced!
Otherwise most my figures have been as high as 12.99 and as low as $4 for singles. 3-packs have been $10-$25 and giants have been $9.99- $14.99 (thou i did get a swarm for 2.99 during that freak amazon day when it was up for a few hours at that price). Most i'd pay for a rare variant is prob about $30-$35. I love skylanders but I feel in 10yrs i'll be like why did I spend $100 on this toy that sells for $10. Thou i will tell you that chop chop from the toy fair is so tempting!! Edit: Oh and I payed $41 for a flocked tree smash, the lays one only to return it cause it was opened and not sealed as stated on the auction. Plus a glow in dark fright rider for around $35 cause i love fright rider! |

If you aren't into variants, and the variants don't show up different in-game, I'll bet they won't. Even if you find a variant in the store, is it really worth the trouble to sell it second-hand? Maybe if you are a kid and a hundred bucks is a huge deal to you. But if you're an adult with a decent income, I would think you have better things to do with your time (unless you're a professional scalper, of course).

Well kids wont know if they show different in-game, the only way they'll find out is to buy it and try it at home and if even the kids arent enterested in variant skylanders, theres others out there for sure are interested, also theres alot of people out there would buy it because its different and looks cooler than the original even though it wont show up different in-game specially if your a collector or scapler. I bet if you see a Flocked Prism Break at the store and come back there in 2 days it wont be there no more.

I refuse to pay more than $20 for a Dragonfire Cannon pack simply because of how little I want Shroomboom.
I am rather trying to budget my spending with skylanders and am even hesitant to buy one if it's $10.99 at a store instead of the usual $9.99. Though if I were to find some of the rarer figures such as Voodood or Wham Shell at that price, I'd probably go for it.

Bought a Punch Pop Fizz for $25. Balked on that, but really didn't want the 3DS version or another Tree Rex/Cynder so I bit the bullet and bought Punch solo.

I have sold back the 3Ds game + portal + Tree Rex for $25, so it is as if I had bought Punch Pop Fizz and Glow Cynder for $17.50, which I think is a good deal.

Retail pricing for me. That can vary depending upon the store, but I'm talking regular retail pricing (single=$10, LC=$12, G=$15, Pack=$25). Although, I did spend a little more ($22) to get Scarlet Ninjini from Amazon.de. That one is the outlier.

I've only bought from stores, so $10 single, $15 Giant, $20 Triple or Adventure. I was a bit peeved to see that $20 rise to $25 for the Battle Packs and I think current triples. Most has been $30 for Scarjini on German Amazon, but she's a special case.
I might end up breaching this policy to get Boomer and maybe Wham Shell.

I've been collecting since Christmas after the first game and I worked in a relatively big city and had hour lunches. I went all over and got all the originals at retail (yes, even Wham Shell). I collect all figures and all variants that are variant in game (although I did stumble across a S2 Sparkly Sonic Boom, so I got her for retail price). I've gotten everyone retail except that I got the Dragonfire Cannon on eBay ($7) because I had gotten the Golden from GameStop and I did not want repeats of the figures, $35 for Gnarly Tree Rex (we already have two Wiis and a WiiU in our house) and I bought the pack with Royal Double Trouble from GameStop for $40 even though I don't have an Apple device.
So I guess $35-40 is my upper tier, but that's in extreme cases where I have no alternative in getting the variant. |

The castle case is pretty much just one big piece. The only thing to take out was Wham Shell. It's also that perfect size that while it looks kinda big it can only hold a handful of characters on each shelf (10 each if you try to cram them together). If you lay it on it's back you can fit alot more. managed to fit my whole collection when I had it laying down rather than standing upright.

Like the others I bought 3DS Giants for $40 on Ebay to get Punch Pop Fizz. The plus side it came with GITD Cynder. I was going to sell the portal and game, but ended up buying a 3DS XL. Surprisingly it's a fun game on the 3DS. The fact they can jump and you can fall off the floating islands adds a new dimension. So the max i'd go is $30-$40 if it's a character I really rare and hard to find. So I'll probably never get the pearls or gold ones in my collection. I'm okay with that. So I ended up getting the SSA 3DS game on ebay too; for the game and Dark Spyro.

Most I've paid was $140 for a glitter hot head! I've lucked out with the toy fair chop chop and flocked prism--My son wrote a letter to someone at activision and they sent those two--and several others to him for free--along with a little note addressed to the "portal master". He was so excited he wanted the letter framed on his wall.
But--I'll probably end up paying more trying to complete giants collection-- Other then unreleased we need Sprocket glitter triple pack Sonic glitter triple pack Stone whirlwind single and triple Stone zook single-- New wii with gnarly tree Rex New bundle with green gill grunt I don't see the glitter triples for sale ever-- If Anybody has info please pm me. I've obsessively tried to "find" any flocked or any recent variant and I've never seen one. I'm convinced that the employees must buy them when they come accross them--which I guess I can't blame them for--but geez--it'd be nice to find one ![]()
