Been to EB Games a couple of times this past couple weeks, and one of the best sellers there is this Skylanders Portal Expansion, and the brand was Biogenik. I asked one of the workers, and he explained to me that Biogenik is the Gamestop/EB Games brand, and this portal expansion is selling very well. What is does is it has a total of eight spaces, where you can put a team of Skyanders. It comes with a remote, with the numbers 1-8 and a VS button. The same buttons are on the expansion itself. So say you have a Spyro on the number 1 spot, and you press the number 1 button, it'll change say, from Camo to Spyro. And say Camo is on the number 2 spot, you click the number 2, and you'll switch back to Camo.

As for the VS button, you have both remotes/controllers connected, and you just pick the Skylanders you want with the buttons.

This expansion fits up to four Giants.

This product retails for $29.99 at EB Games.

Now, as for the "pics or it didn't happen" addiction that's been going on lately, the next time I go, I promise I will get a picture.

What I want to know is if any of you have seen this, and if anyone has bought it, does it work?

So basically it lets you have up to 8 Skylanders on The Portal at once without having you pbyisically pick up the toy to switch to another? You just switch them via remote? I would buy this in an instant lol.

Yeah, I know, so would I. It's on my Christmas wishlist. If you see it at Gamestop/EB Games, make sure to read the whole box, because it has more info.

I don't normally agree with the whole "pics or it didn't happen" thing but unless I see a pic, I am calling bs. I looked at EB and Gamestop online, nothing. I did a search for it on the web, nothing even came up for the brand name. It would be nice though.

And that also is what I find strange about it. If you look up Biogenik, you get no info on the brand, and nothing about the product is recorded online. Nothing on the EB Games or Gamestop website at all. It does seem like it doesn't exist at all, and I know that since you can usually find anything on the internet, that you probably won't believe me, but I promise that I will get a picture when I head in next.

I'm not saying this specific product exists, but if you can't find anything on this brand, then obviously don't know how to use Google.

Wow, that actually sounds amazing! I would buy this instantly! I'd look to see a picture whenever it's available online.

I have a 4 port USB switch box. Similiar to the one pictured here:

I have My giants portal hooked up to it, and two of the older wireless portals from the 1st game, this is all on the wii system. It's not remote, but I can just press any of the buttons on the box and it switches between portals. Works quite well, there is a small display and on occasion the unable to detect portal screen comes up, but it does work.

I like this idea a lot. Although in general I prefer to manually switch my landers, if I wanted an auto switch, this would be cool. Especially since separate portals would look schweet

No, I'm very sure it wasn't the Battle Arena. The Arena is an Activision/Skylanders brand, and this wasn't. And no, the product I am talking about doesn't come up on Google, but it is out there. Next time you go to EB Games/Gamestop, check for it, because it will probably be there.

He can't go to EB Games/Gamestop, he (T7gga) lives in the UK were these stores don't exist. How about instead someone supplies a photo of this product?

Where do you live? Is this something that would be available in US GameStops? I've checked two so far and they've never heard of such a product....?? Maybe it's not released everywhere yet, or maybe it's only at EB Games right now?

An idea like this sounds cool. Some fun is to be had taking characters off of a portal and putting them on, but after a while, something like this would be cool for those who want to relax and play.

This would make going through the game easier, as you could walk up to elemental areas and just press the button on the remote to switch to that element. This means if you had 1 Giant and it was a life element, and you had 7 other Skylanders in the 7 other elements, thus having all elements and a giant accounted for, you could just press buttons and get through each elemental area, and giant area at the press of a button.

I like convienance. I hope this item is real, and I would buy it in a heartbeat.

EDIT: I did try looking this up on ebgames.ca and ebgames.com.au and nothing pulled up.

But why hasn't this kind of product been announced in the US? I love the idea of changing characters on the portal, but sometimes it gets frustrating, because each level has multiple elemental areas and now parts where Giants can only access.

This kind of product is a godsend for Skylander fans and I applaud one company for being smart enough to do this, while the American companies make stupid products that don't even do what they're supposed to *cough*Skylanders Coliseum*cough*.

I find it confusing that it hasn't been released in the US, since that's usually where you find this kind of stuff. Next time I go across the border (I live close), I'll check GameStop and see if they have anything, because I have a hard time believing they wouldn't release it there. And since it can't be found online, unless you live in Canada, it's impossible to get as of now.

The only reason I didn't buy the Coliseum is because I heard a parent complaining to a Toys R Us employee about how useless it was. Otherwise, I probably would have bought it. But the bad reviews here turned me off even more.

Anyway, next time I go to the US, I'll see if I can find anything.

Sometimes when I have an evening of gaming ahead of me, I like to snuggle into the couch with a big blanket and get comfy, I don't wanna have to be sitting up and switching figures constantly- plus, once my cat hops up on me it's game over, I can't push off my purring furbaby just for a character switch!! lol It's the little things, u know? This definitely makes a HUGE improvement to gameplay!!! I didn't find it on the EB Games website at all yet either.... shame. I might have to get a hold of one of my college buddies up in Canada to help out with this one!!

It is the little things! I couldn't agree more. I have pet rats, and they don't like when I move around to much.

I just went to Game Stop. They didn't have and they never heard of it. They checked their online inventory as well and nothing. Too bad...that thing looks awesome.

That's what a lot of people are saying. I just don't get why EB Games would have it, and not Gamestop.

How would that even work? You need to have the figure on top of the portal for it to be read.

It's only a radio signal, I assume that the expansion reads the radio signal from the character chip and replicates the signal in the central area (where the portal is) so it can be read by the portal. Just a guess.

Wonder if that was taken from someone in the US, or out of country?

I mean, maybe it is out in the states, but maybe other stores got it? I don't know. If Power A spent more time making cool stuff like this, instead of Coliseums that doesn't even fit most Skylanders, there would be some merch worth buying.

I don't know why someone in the US hasn't thought of this yet, or why this Biogenik company hasn't released it in the states?

As I said, when I spoke to an employee at my EB Games, he said Biogenik was a EB Games/Gamestop brand, so I don't see why Gamestop wouldn't have it.

Everything Gamestop makes down here in the US, is branded as Gamestop. So, I wonder if they outsource from a different company here in the US when making Gamestop branded products?

Hmm, that's a likely possibility. I'll ask an employee the next time I go in.

Awesome, it's finally out! There's still no information on this item on Google anywhere. It's like it still doesn't exist yet. I would order it right now if there were a site that had it.

Man, I'd love this just to use all the magic items on the fly.
