Giants Storage Ideas [CLOSED]

Anyone have any ideas for where to store the Giants? I use the black and yellow stacking cases suggested by someone on here. Sorry, I can't remember who to give credit to. Even with dividers out, the Giants are too large.

It was Gamemaster and I am waiting to see what he comes up with as well. I also use the stanley storage cases for the first skylanders and hope something similar can be used for all the new released figures as well... those giants are some big compaired to the others....

I am testing spaces for each of the new characters, minus Giants. So far, Stanley Sortmaster Jr. is again what I am leaning towards.

I will be using the ArtBin 6990AB Super Satchel Double Deep Box. I ordered it from Amazon and should be getting it later this week. I have the Artbin 9007AB Divider Box for the regular Skylanders and it is perfect. The spaces are big enough for any of the normal sized Skylanders to stand without being ruined. The bigger accessories in the adventure packs have to lay on their sides, but that's not an issue.

I use 'Really Useful Box' 11Litre storage box with a Large 16 Section tray in it for regular characters. The sections are just the right size to put the character card in the bottom and figures fit in nicely. So when you take one out you know where it goes because its card is in the right compartment. I use the same box for giants but with a Large 6 section tray. smilie They stack too so its good. Only problem is i now have 5 trays and need 3 more meaning i'm going to have a tower of 8 boxes in my room.

Can the last two people post pics of Giants inside of those cases?

As for regular Sortmasters. The only thing that will fit a Giant, is the 4 outer storage compartments on the fold down compartments of the Sortmaster XL. I had originally thought the Giants would be small enough, that I could fit Giants in each of the 4 big compartments. I was wrong. That means only 4 Giants can fit in those compartments.

I am testing Sortmaster Jr. cases for all of the regular sized Skylanders I've gotten out of wave 1 and 2. I think I have the biggest characters out of the way in terms of those.

I will post pics on where to put each character if I can.

Those are some cool cases. It seems they could fit. However, one problem with the Giants case. It can only hold 6 Giants. smilie If that had 8 slots, that would have been perfect.

I am seeing if they sell them here in the US. It looks like office depot may have them. Looks like I am going to office depot tomorrow.

holding 6 giants per case would be fine for me cuz i need the extra four spaces for scarlet legendary granite and gnarly. right now im thinking about buying two of those cases and then some more sort master juniors for the rest of my colection. but i will wait for your review tomarrow before i do anything.

GOOD THINKING, HAZARD! I forgot about those.

I will go to Office Depot when they open and see if I can't find these here in the US. In the meantime, I was able to use my old path A and B cases (Sortmaster Juniors) and fit all of the normal sized Skylanders - from Giants - into it. Of course, things could change since we are still missing 4 Lightcore, 9 Series 2, and Hot Dog.

Really Useful Boxes does have a US website.

http://www.reallyusefulproduct...0litreLDT06.php

Just a heads up though that the shipping is pretty expensive at $20. I ordered 2 and it came to $58.70 with shipping.

Also GM how did you manage to fit the new Whirwind in the sortmaster jr? I tried moving her all around and couldn't find a good position so that the figure wouldn't get squished from the lid pressing down.

i only want 2 large tray boxes for the 12 giants. but it looks like to get them i would also have to buy 2 of the 16 tray boxes that i dont want. im i reading this right?
JackSparx Gold Sparx Gems: 2349
#26 Posted: 10:57:40 25/10/2012
No!!! smilie The boxes and trays that go in them are 2 seperate products but, to make it easier and a bit chaper the compay pairs them together. When the website says:

This bundle consists of:
1 x 11 litre Really Useful Box (with lid)
1 x Large tray 6

It means you get the 11L empty box AND the Large 6 tray to put in it.

I hope this is what you meant. smilie

EDIT- Or are you saying you dont want the boxes and just want the tray that goes inside? Because i'm sure they sell them seperately, too smilie

OR

1x 11L box with 1x 16 tray

Oh and btw guys i'm not part of or advertising this company, i'm just helping out because i store my skylanders in them.

I pay £11.99 for the 6 tray boxes. Thats just under $20. You tend to pay ALOT less for things over there which is why it seems so expencive. Our skylanders are £8.99, yours are $8.99 right? Meaning over here in the UK we pay about $14.50 for each skylander and about $25 for a giant.

Hey All

I'm also comparing different methods to store the figures. I love the Really Useful Boxes. I'm going to compare them to the Christmas ornament bulb storage cases that come out around Christmas. I think these are cheaper and hold up to 16-48 bulbs. They should be in the store shortly. If I remember right you can get them in green, red and clear. They also have cardboard ones that maybe even cheaper?? I remember these because I saw a bunch of them being blown out at Target after Christmas for like $5-10 per. Does anyone have a case already and do the Skylanders fit nicely in them? Google Christmas ornament storage and a bunch of pics come up.. This is maybe another way to go????

I also love putting the Skylander cards at the bottom of the slot but I keep all mine in a binder..... I think I will use the new Giant trading cards that are coming out, probably will have a lot of doubles...

They sucked. All of their RUB's were all open. There were no slots inside, and if they're seperate, they didn't have the slots to sell seperately.

My Sortmaster Jr. cases can hold all of wave 1 and 2 so far. I will post pics of them in their current spaces. I just need something for the Giants, but I don't want to spend around 25-30 a case.

The large, square Skylanders case(which I've only seen at Walmart) works great. You can also adjust and take out the clear, plastic dividers inside however you wish. It's by far the best "official" case so far

I really like the Skylander Case from Walmart but when looking at it I would only be able to get about 22 in there without doubling up??

Here are some more options but it looks like some have cardboard inserts.... There should be a bunch of options in all stores soon.

deantjeep: I believe that this case could easily hold all 8 Giants. So far I only have Crusher, Tree Rex, and Bouncer. Tree Rex and Crusher fit nicely and they can stand straight up, but Bouncer has to be stored on his side due to him being too tall. It isn't too much of a pain, I just have to make sure I put him back in there carefully. If you had two of these cases, you could probably fit all the Giants and at least 15 to 20 regular characters with room to spare. I currently have 3 giants and 11 regular figures and have barely filled over one half of the available space. I would post a picture of how I have the figures arranged in the case if I knew how to post pictures on the forum xD

tyronius: you actually wouldn't have to double up, because you can add in extra plastic dividers. They give you an additional 7 or 8 along with the ones already being used in the case

I find that the best way to store all of these figures is to just have them on display. At Ikea, I found the perfect shelf. It is relatively small and very low to the ground, for easy access. I have it against the wall in my living room, and just slide it in front of the sofa when I play the game. It's absolutely perfect.

Here is a photo from when I first got Giants:
[User Posted Image]

I don't see a need for hiding the figures away in plastic cases, when I can have them within arms reach at all times.

I just don't have the room to have them out sitting right now, you know? I mean, it would be cool but it's just not feasible.

I was looking around today and I have one similar to these:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ster...t-of-4/15442451

What I have is only one set of 3 drawers. For whatever reason, the only way I can find it online is a set of 4 units. I picked mine up in store though. We have all of the Giants that are out right now and I checked and they all fit with no problem. I'm thinking 4 Giants in each of the 3 drawers. That covers all 12 Giants. I think this will work for me. And it's far cheaper than the Really Useful Boxes or ArtBins.
