The Moonstone

Zac ran across the moutains in search of the Moonstone, he ran for hours on end. He came to an abrupt stop when he saw a bright stone on top of Mount Dawnfire. Mount Dawnfire was the tallest most rockiest mountain in all the land, the ledgend is that it was named after a famous dragon Lord Dawnfire, who died a mysterious death.

Zac's eyes gleamed with joy, he bolted up the mountain at top speed, even that took him an hour or two. Once he made it to the top he smiled at the small Moonstone, Zac reached down to pick up the moonstone. There was a bright flash of light, Zac fell over backwards startled by the light. He decided to wait till morning to try again with the moonstone. The young lad set up camp and laid on his sleeping bag and looked at the setting sun.

The sun finally set and zac nodded off to sleep. Zac woke up sweating very startled, he looked down at his hand to find it scaley with long claws. He struggled to get up, Zac crawled to the nearby lake and looked in the water. 'I'm a dragon!' cried Zac. He decided it was just a dream and crawled back into his sleeping bag, hoping that in the morning he would be normal again.

Chapter 2:

The Note

In the morning Zac awoke and his chest burned more than ever, he looked at his hand, he was himself again! No more scales no more claws or wings he was now himself again. He put his hand to his chest. He jumped up and yelped he had a moonstone on his chest, he pulled at it and it just refused to come off. It felt velvety yet smooth. He looked around him he reached down and picked up a note. He read it allowed ‘ You are the chosen one, every night you will turn into a dragon. You are now the guardian of Mount Dawnfire, at night you will be known as Nightwing. I have sent you a trainer to help teach you about being a dragon. From Lord Dawnfire.’ Zac was very much shocked everyone thought the dragon Lord Dawnfire was dead.

Chapter 3:

The Transformation

A young vibrant dragon flew down towards Zac. Quite startled by the dragon, the young boy fell right over backwards. The blue dragon landed next to the startled boy and said ‘ Skyclaw is my name i will be your trainer, please don’t be scared I will not harm you’ Skyclaw bowed her head to Zac. Zac layed a hand on the dragons forehead and said ‘you startled me, I am not scared at all you just startled me and what do you mean my trainer I am human not dragon I just had a bad dream about being a dragon.’ ‘Silly child, that was not a dream. Every night you will turn into a dragon, wait with me for the night to fall and i will show you.’ Zac nodded his head in agreement.

‘ What will happen? I am confused Skyclaw.’ Zac said carefully to the young dragon. ‘Don’t worry you will not be scared after you have completed your transformation.’ replied Skyclaw. The sun had just set, when Zac started glowing. His feet slowly left the ground and he was surrounded by a bright light. His feet touched the ground again and he was now a dragon. ‘That was awesome can I do it again!’ shouted Zac. ‘you will, don’t worry you will, for every night that will happen, you are now Nightwing.’

Chapter 4:

Training Meltdown

Nightwing flapped him wings in annoyence, 'I can't do this!' he shouted. 'Come on boy you have to try' Replied Skyclaw. Nightwing took one big breath and blew as hard as he could and then out came a burst of fire. 'I did it, I did it!' screamed Nightwing. 'Yes, yes you did I am very proud.'

In the morning after Nightwing transformed back into Zac, Skyclaw told Zac one secret that Zac didn't ever want to know. 'WHAT!, I CAN'T GO HOME!?!?' Shouted Zac franticley. 'I'm afraid not young one, for you can't leave Mount Dawnfire since you are the guardian.' Said Skyclaw calmly. 'I never said I wanted to be the guardian of Mount Dawnfire! I want to go home!!! NOW!' Screamed zac at the top of him voice. 'You can't Zac, you can't.' Zac ran away into the bush trying to run away from his troubles.

Chapter 5:

Zac Meets Spyro

He sat down next to a tree and sobbed. But then he was covered in a shadow. Zac looked up to see a small purple dragon. 'Who are you?' asked Zac. 'I am spyro, who are you?' replied Spyro. 'I..I..I don't know anymore, I mean I'm Zac yet I'm Nightwing' stammered Zac. 'So your that black dragon I see at night' Said Spyro looking at the moonstone on Zacs chest. 'Yes I am but I don't want to be' Zac said in a rather sad sounding voice. 'Why is that? Being a dragon is a great gift.' asked Spyro. 'I know just I won't ever see my family again' Said Zac beginning to cry.

'How old are you boy?' asked Spyro. 'I am 12' replied Zac. 'Oh my, that's to young to not have your family with you.' Said Spyro rather startled. 'How would you like me to go bring your family here?' asked Spyro politley. 'Oh yes if you could, ,they live at number 22 mystic court oakland.' replied zac quiet atonished about the question. 'Okay I will go find them now, where as you should go back to my old friend Skyclaw.' Said Spyro.

Zac was so happy he ran back to camp as fast as he could.

Chapter 6:

The Killer Dragon

The light from the moon iluminated the sky, Nightwing's scales shimmered in the moonlight. A tear came to his eye and rolled down his smooth scaly face. Skyclaw walked up slowly to Nightwing. 'I'm sorry, I really am sorry' she said with a sad toned voice. 'I love my family but I want to know, why am I here? I wish I knew.'
'I'm afraid I do not know, all i know is I must teach you to fly.' Nightwing smiled a little. 'Fly' whispered Nightwing.

'Spread your wings, and get ready to fly.' instructed Skyclaw. Nightwing's might legs ran as fast as he could, he jumped and flapped his huge wings. 'I'm flying! I'm really really flying!' shouted Nightwing in joy. He landed swiftly on the ground and thanked Skyclaw.

Nightwing fell over backwards as a huge blast of fire had just exploded infront of him. 'Run Nightwing RUN!' shouted Skyclaw. 'No!' he shouted in reply, 'I am not leaving you.' A giant red and orange dragon flew over. 'You must die!' Said the dragon in a loud thunderous voice.

Chapter 7:

The death of Zac

The sun was rising, 'NO! THE SUN!' Nightwing quickly transformed into Zac. 'Ha, foolish child, you now die.' Skyclaw pounced on the dragon. Her sharp spear like tail peirced into the dragon. 'If I die, He dies with me!' The dragons mighty jaws clamped onto Zac's neck CRUNCH. 'NO! ZAC NO NO NO!, YOU CAN'T DIE!' The dragon laughed and fell on the ground dead.

Skyclaw grabbed Zac and put him on her back. 'Only one person can help you, only one person can bring you back... Lord Dawnfire.'

The blood of Zac trickled down Skyclaw's back. 'We must hurry you do not have much time left, I will never be able to bring you back to life if we don't get there by nightfall.' stammered Skyclaw, talking to the limp dead body on her back. 'Oh, I must not fly! If I fly he may fall off. This is so hard.'

Skyclaw decided to take a short break she layed Zac's body on the ground and she stared into his lifeless eyes. 'Why could it not have been me, It should have been me not you.' she cried 'your so young and full of life.'

Chapter 8:

The return

After hours and hours of padding through thick forest, Skyclaw came to a mighty castle. She walked up to it and said in a loud voice. 'This is Skyclaw, trainer of Nightwing.' The large doors swung open. She bolted up the stairs and came to a stop outside of a fancy golden door with amazing leaves imbedded into it.

Skyclaw pushed the door open and walked up to the red dragon into the middle of the room. 'Sir, please help, Zac has died!' announced Skyclaw is such a sad voice. 'I know, i know young one.' said the red dragon 'lay him down on the floor.'
She layed the remains of Zac on the cold ground and started to cry. 'It's okay, can you get me that glass on the table.' Skyclaw fetched the glass and gave it to the wise old dragon.

'The power from the blood from me should bring him back to life.' The dragon cut his own hand and let two drops of blood drop into the glass. He grabbed the yound boy and dropped the dragons blood on the moonstone. Amazingly the gash to his throat started healing and his heart started to beat once more.

Suddenly Zac started rising into the air and amazing colours started swirling around him, he transformed from human to dragon, 'what happened?, who are you? why am I a dragon at day?' said Zac gasping for breath. 'I am Lord Dawnfire, you died but two drops of my blood crossed with the moonstone brought you back to life.' The lord explained in a wise voice. 'I am afraid you are now fully dragon, you will never turn into a human again.' 'WHAT! a dragon forever!' shouted Zac angrily. 'I am sorry, very sorry.' said Lord Dawnfire. 'It's okay, how bad could it be.' said Zac beginning to smile. 'I believe there is someone to see you.' said Lord Dawnfire. Zac turned around to see Skyclaw. He ran up and hugged her and whispered 'I love you.'

Chapter 9:

Saphira The Unicorn

"dragon forever, and ever." sighed Nightwing. "It's okay, it's really okay." Skyclaw came out from the shadows. "you can do it I can train you to fight and fly even better." Skyclaw said excitedly. But first we need to find Saphira the unicorn.

They walked to the lake and found a beautiful unicorn drinking from the lake. "Saphira I bring Nightwing, can you help me train him to fight?" Said Skyclaw as she bowed her head to he unicorn. "I can help, yes, but first I must make sure Nightwing is worthy of my training" Replied Saphira in a wise voice. "I can fight you" said Nightwing. "Get ready, get set fight!" shouted Skyclaw. Saphira and Nightwing fought till they were both bleeding.

"you are worthy of my training." Saphira said calmly. A little fairy popped out of the leaves shouting. "DRAGONS DRAGONS EEP!" "Belle it's okay, they are friends." Saphira said in a superior voice. "Oh, I am sorry master" The fairy flew into the bushes.

"first things first, fly to the castle on the hill and then return." Nightwing shot into the air and speeded away to the castle. When he got there he was amazed by the sheer beauty of the castle. Nightwing remembered the training and speeded back to Skyclaw and Saphira.

"Okay your flying is excellent, we shall continue tomorrow." said Saphira. "Okay master, thank you for the compliment." said Nightwing. The dragons layed down and fell asleep for they were very tired.

Chapter 10:

Young Love

The next morning nightwing was the first to wake up. "oh I am so hungry!" nightwing thought to himself. He sat down next t o te lake and stared into it.

A small purple dragon walked up next to him. "Nighting, I am sorry but your family is dead." spyro said in a sad voice. "My family was already dead, my mother and sister died in a car crash when I was a baby, and well my father left me when I was born." Nightwing cried. A tear slid down Nightwings face and dripped into the lake.

"Well then who was it who I saw die?" Spyro asked now rather distressed by the upset dragon. "They were my foster parents, I ran away from home that's how I ended up here."

"I'm so sorry Nightwing I didn't know" Skyclaw said sadly. Nightwing and Spyro spun around unaware that Skyclaw was ever there. "Don't be sorry, I only need you Skyclaw." Nightwing kissed Skyclaw on the head. "I love you Skyclaw your all I need."

Saphira walked up and said "young love theres no better type of love."

"Nope I still remember my first love and my last for that fact." Spyro said dreamily. "Well if you are going to be a great dragon Nightwing we better get training." Said Saphira.

Chapter 11:

Natures call


Spyro bursted through a wall of fire and tackled Nightwing. Nightwing escaped Spyro's painful grip and did a double back flip in the air and landed on Spyro with an "oompf" from Spyro, Nightwing had one the battle.

"Good fight, Nightwing" Spyro said congratulating Nightwing.

"Thanks bud" Nightwing replied.

Saphira walked up and whispered something in Spyros ear. Spyro let out a gasp.

"No Saphira NO!" Spyro shouted.

"It's time, train Nightwing for me Spyro." Saphira said calmly.

"Can someone tell me what the heck is going on!?!?" Said Nightwing. not at all pleased of being left out the conversation.

"Nightwing, Saphira is going to die!" Shouted Spyro.

"No you can't die! No no no!!!" Said Nightwing shaking his head.

"Boys boys, when a unicorn dies, it becomes part of nature, I will never be gone." Saphira said slowly starting to lose her breath.

"What part of nature how will we ever know." Spyro said as he started to cry.

"That shall be revealed when you need it most." Saphira said feeling proud of being a unicorn, "Nightwing you have a great power within you be careful and listen to spyro."

"What about Skyclaw she should be here." Nightwing said loking for the blue dragon.

"Listen Skyclaw must not know about this, just tell her I was needed far away." Saphira said. "It's time."

Saphira's body started to transform into beautiful red roses and the roses blew away in the soft wind.

"She's gone really gone." said Spyro sadly.

Chapter 12

Skyclaw's secret

Nightwing looked around the forest, it seemed so lonely without Saphira telling him to keep training. There was one thing on Nightwing's mind, why didn't Saphira was him to tell Skyclaw?

"Hey there Nightwing" Said Skyclaw.

"Yo Skyclaw! Meh main man...err girl?" Nightwing replied.

"Your funny Nightwing, Listen have you seen Saphira?" Skyclaw asked.

"Well you see..." Nightwing started.

"Saphira had to go away she was on a mission for lord dawnfire you see." Spyro interrupted.

"SPYRO! I had this!" Nightwing yelled.

"boys do they ever stop fighting?" Said Skyclaw with a smile.

Spyro walked Nightwing into the forest.

"Spyro why did you do that back there?" Asked Nightwing.

"I had to you were gonna tell her!!!!" Spyro raged.

Nightwing took off into the mornings sky with the wind in his face. He saw a young deer and dived down to get it. As he picked up the deer he used his spear like tail to pierce it's neck. He flew back to Skyclaw and put the deer down next to her, looked into her eyes before he knew it they were kissing.

"Skyclaw Saphira died." Said Nightwing as if he was in a trance.

"I see! Good good!" Skyclaw laughed "I can now be me with you under my spell!"

She started to change into a black dragon with shimmering scales, she was now Stealthkill.

"Nightwing take care of Spyro." Said Stealthkill

"Sure thing master!" Nightwing flew off into the distance.

NOOOOO! -Purple flies to help spyro-

LOL! I wonder what will hapen next seriously idk o.o

Chapter 13

Must kill Spyro!

Nightwing flew down next to Spyro.

"Dude you left me!" Spyro said sounding annoyed.

"Must kill Spyro." Nightwing said dazed.

"Uh... why must you kill me?" Spyro said feeling a bit scared.

"Master said so." Nightwing said.

"Who is your master?" Spyro asked.

"Stealthkill, must kill Spyro" Nightwing said lazily.

Nightwing tackled Spyro and slashed Spyro's wings with his tail blade. Spyro pushed him off and jumped into the air and dived into Nightwing and used his strong horns to attack him. Nightwing was knocked out by this sudden attack. Ten minutes later Nightwing awoke.

"Are you still going to kill me?" Asked Spyro with his tail blade to Nightwing's throat.

"Kill? you? why would I kill you?" Nightwing asked.

Yeah it's short!

Chapter 14

Meeting Master Purple

"Nightwing I must take you somewhere you can't know where I'm sorry for this." Spyro said.

Spyro knocked Nightwing out. As Spyro put Nightwing on his back he felt guilty for what he just did to Nightwing. Spyro ran and ran he ran so fast he was a blur. He stopped at a castle the same castle Nightwing had looked at a few days ago.

"Open it's Spyro" Spyro said announcing his presence.

The large drawbridge opened Spyro walked inside. A purple dragon walked up.

"Spyro old pal!" The dragon said.

"Master Purple!!!" Spyro shouted in joy.

They walked into a large room and Spyro put Nightwing on a table.

"So what's happened here?" Purple asked.

"He has been hypnotized" Spyro sadly said "He tried to kill me."

"I see, I see" Purple said seeming very interested.

"Lets talk about this in the morning" Purple said "I am feeling very tired"

Purple got Nightwing to swallow a potion to make sure Nightwing stayed knocked out, because if he awoke it could mean danger for all.
