I was at my grandma's house and my cousins brought one of those PSX demo discs over. One of the demos was Spyro, which I enjoyed much more than the other stuff on there.

I vaguely remember flaming the tulips was fun to me back then. lol

My dad got a demo disc in the mail that had a demo of the very first Spyro the Dragon on it.

I played that demo sooooooo many times, you don't even know.

My family had the first three games. So I played the second one since the first got lost and I tried my best to go in order. Loved it, never stopped talking about it, and BAM. Instant fanage.

I loved dragons even when I was a little girl. One day I saw a Spyro game for the Gameboy, and I thought "Ooh, a dragon game!" I had to beg my parents to buy it for me. I think it was one of the first games that I ever played.

My stepsister introduced me and my little sister to him. We weren't stepsisters yet; her mom and my dad were still just dating. I think that's part of what helped us bond with her, which continued after my dad and her mom got married. I guess my obsession with him is kinda her fault? smilie; She actually introduced us to a lot of videogames, now that I think of it; Monster Rancher, Spyro, Sonic, Toejam and Earl, Ecco the Dolphin, Oddworld, and Drakan all come to mind.

I can't remember when I first saw Spyro, but I do remember renting it whenever I saw it on the shelves, and borrowing it from all my friends who had his games. I loved Spyro to bits, but, for whatever reason, I could never buy the games... Either, 'Wait until it gets cheaper' or 'We don't have any in-stock'... And then I saw an advertisement for ETD, and pre-ordered it. I'd play it for hours, just wandering around flaming sheep. I didn't get far, but it was fun. Wish I hadn't sold it now smilie

This.

If I recall, weren't all the Portals Bricked up, or covered in concrete instead of a Sceneic shot of the World?

I have a demo of Spyro 1, you can access the Artisans and go to Stone Hill and Dark Hollow, but Town Square was bricked up, Toasty was always shut inside the dragon's snout and would never open, and Sunny Flight would never reveal after jumping on the stepping stones in front of the waterfall. My demo still works.
