When it ends, What was the point of that. I thought it was kinda confuzzling

The Chronicler passed his role onto Ignitus as it was the beginning of a new age.
The scene with Spyro and Cynder flying about happily was meant to tell us that they are still alive.

But it's still a dumb ending. Nevermind the sheer idiocy of Iggy dieing in a fire, but he DIED! If they really wanted to make a slightly more mature game which deals with more mature issues (ie.loss), he should have stayed dead! And Spyro going all god mode was such an easy ending, given all the struggle and how hard it was built up to be.

I didn't see it as dumb. If you want a dumb ending, and a sense of "overall pointless 'loss'", watch the ending to Sonic 06....you will think DotD's ending is a masterpiece compared.

And Iggy is dead....as was the Chronicler.....

At the end of Scaler you've collected all the eggs and been reunited with your father, and of course you've beaten the main baddy. You jump through the portal home, and suddenly all the eggs are gone, as is your dad. That was dumb, But DotD was still dumber...

Just as a note - If you complete Scaler 100%, you actually get an extended scene which shows his father returning with him.

In Sonic 06, after Sonic, Shadow and Silver defeat Solaris, everyone seemingly disappears, except Sonic and Elise. Apparantly, Solaris is now calm, and is the "true Solaris". We then see a flashback of Elise's past, and then Sonic and Elise are in a room with a candle. Elise tells Sonic that if the candle is extinguished, Solaris will have never existed, and any events that occured as a result of Solaris would never have happened e.g the entire game. Elise cries and screams "I don't care what happens to the world!" as she doesn't want to blow out the candle, as she loves Sonic. But Sonic just says "Elise.....just smile....". Elise smiles and blows out the candle. An alternate version of the game's opening plays, except Eggman doesn't appear, as Iblis(half of Solaris) is not sealed inside Elise anymore, as in this "new, alternate timeline", Solaris doesn't exist. This cutscene alone leaves tons of plotholes and questions.

In fact, they should of put this in the credits:
"Congradulations! You just played through a terrible, rushed, glitchy game for the story to have never happened! Have a ******* nice day!"
That Scaler ending doesn't seem dumb, just intentionally funny!

Sonic 06's ending was a giant middle finger to the face, with crap on the nail...

I mean, it pains me when people say DotD's ending was terrible.....I mean, at least it made sense, and closed the LoS story nicely. It's one of those endings that can be expanded on(new game), or just left the way it is. Surely that makes it at least "passable" or "does the job".

We know you don't like the LoS, SpyroLUVA. But we also know that it's your opinion that the ending sucked, not a fact. It had always has been since you started hating the LoS.

He did die, but his spirit became the Chronicler:

"Spyro, when a dragon dies, he does not truely leave this world.....his spirit lives on, binding itself with nature, offering hope for the future."

Yup, I found the ending really weird too. I thought that Spyro was going to sacrifice himself too.

But in Eternal Night, Spyro meets the Chronicler in person and he's like a real living dragon

The previous Chronicler from TEN passed his duties to Ignitus' spirit, allowing him to become the next Chronicler of the new age after Spyro restored the world.

....Which is also why the Chronicler disappeared in DotD.
And Iggy was still solid when he became the Chronicler.....

But he was still a spirit, I guess you could say. Like ignitus said.. he still lives on, but really, he's dead at the same time.. I suck at explaining things.

He was a ghost. You see him after Spyro and Cynder defeated Malefor, but his spirit was summoned back into a solid form by the Chronicler, and he was chosen to be the next Chronicler.
