Destiny is a Silver Dragon born in the far future of the TLoS world, where all that can be seen is darkness and more darkness. What is the cause of this darkness? Why did it happen? Find out in this story...

THE LEGEND OF SPYRO: END OF ALL HOPE

[Rated PG-13 for peril and fantacy violence]


Prologue

"In this world there is no light...no hope.

Many of the dragons have long forgotten what light even is.

Many have tried to find out the cause, but the result always ends the same way... they are killed by the ruler of this world, a dragon with no heart at all, for it is long been overshadowed by pure darkness.

But there is hope... for there is one that can save us all..."


A lone dragoness lie on a large stone, looking at the starless, pitch black sky.

The dragoness was a beautiful purple dragon. She had six horns on her head, along with pink stripe down her eyes. A pink, star-shaped marking was on her rump. Shining, silver, jewelry shone on her neck.

The dragoness sighed deeply before turning her head towards the one thing she had kept secret, a beautiful sparkling egg, curled up in her tail.

She looked at the sky once more, remembering the days back before all this darkness, when there was light.

The dragoness heard a small cracking noise and quickly looked at her egg, it was hatching.

The egg broke open and the head of a small grey dragon poked out, it's head almost shining like silver. A Silver Dragon was born from the egg.

The dragoness smilled and nuzzled her hatchling. She named it Destiny, sybolizing the fact that this child may be the world's only hope.

Everything seemed fine, that is, until five years later.

"Master shall we set out to kill that silver dragon before it grows too powerful?" A black dragoness asked, her voice cold.

The dragon she had called 'Master' turned and faced her, his demonic, white, eyes showing no emotion, his dark purple scales blending in with the darkness surrounding him.

"Yes," he said, "kill that pest before she can even find out her purpose in this world."

"As you wish master" the black dragoness said bowing her head before turning and leaving the dark room.

"Nothing will stop me," 'Master' said to himself once the dragoness was gone. "No one will stop my rule on this world!"

The purple dragoness stood watching Destiny chasing the black clouds that cloaked what was left of the dead forest around her.

Destiny couldn't seem to catch them, they kept moving away, as if they were afraid of her.

She gave up and went over to her mother who nuzzled her as the young dragon sat down.

The air suddenly got cold, making Destiny stand up quickly, looking into the darkness.

"Destiny, we have to go" the purple dragoness said in fear.

Destiny didn't complain as she and he mother soon took off, running from wherever they were.

They didn't get far when a blast of ice hit the purple dragoness, making her yell as she fell to the ground.

Destiny ran to her mother before stopping as a large bolder past her.

"Destiny! Run!" The purple dragoness cried to her daughter before she was hit by a blast of phychic energy.

Destiny was scared, she couldn't run because of it.

Several dragons closed in on them, each one with glowing eyes.

"Well, well," one of the dragons, a pink one with purple and red markings said, her eyes glowing a bright purple. "Who have we here?"

The purple dragoness' eyes filled with tears as the dragon spoke.

"Let's take her to Master, I'm sure he'd love to see her again." A dark green dragon with glowing light-green eyes said.

"Good idea" a black dragoness said. "After I kill this hachling!"

"Run Destiny! Now!" The purple dragoness yelled.

Destiny still couldn't move, the glowing yellow eyes of the black dragoness got closer.

"DIE!" The dragoness yelled lunging at Destiny, teeth bared.

"NO!"

Destiny closed her eyes, waiting for the hit when a cry of pain was heard.

Opening her eyes Destiny say her mother on the ground, bleeding from the chest.

The black dragoness lunged once more at Destiny, fireing poison out of her maw.

Destiny yelled in pain as she fell, the world went black.

"NO!" Her mother yelled.

"Shut up and get up!" a large white dragoness with glowing orange eyes ordered using the Wind Element to lift the purple dragoness up, "We're leaving."

"Master, we have successfully killed the Silver one. And captured her mother." A large ice blue dragon said bowing.

"You should have killed her too. I have no use for her mother."

"We thought you might enjoy seeing her again."

"Might as well"

Master left and head down to the dungeon of the large temple to see the dragoness lying there on the ground, sobbing.

"Hello there, Heather" Master said smiling evily "It's been awhile."

Chapter 1

Destiny couldn't get up, she felt pain, as if every bone in her body was broken.

Footsteps could be heard, making the young Silver Dragon open her eyes slightly. In front of her stood two dragons, one of them, an elderly one, was a teal color, his head had frils on it, below his four horns, his tail blade looked like a blue fire. The dragon turned its teal eyes to the teenage dragon beside him, the crystal on his neck swaying as he did so.

The teen dragon, no, the dragoness, was a light blue color on the front half of her body and tail, almost black on the other. She had a white heart-like shape on her face, making her light brown eyes stand out. She had black spikes down her back to her tail, tan frills between each one. The dragoness' maw and the tips of her paws were yellow, and her tail tip looked like an arrowhead.

The dragoness nodded to the teal dragon before walking over to Destiny who whimpered in fear.

"It's alright little one" the dragoness said gently to Destiny, "I will not hurt you."

Destiny stopped her whimpering but winced in pain as the dragoness put her paws on her poison-burned side.

The young silver dragon began to feel her pain drain away. She looked at the dragoness, seeing that its paws were glowing a light silver-blue color.

The teen dragoness fell to the ground, panting, she used up most of her strength.

Destiny tried to get up, only to feel pain in her hind-left leg, it was obviously broken.

The teen dragoness had now gotten to its feet, looking at the teal dragon who grabbed Destiny in his paws and onto the teen dragoneess' back.

The duo of dragons began to leave, Destiny safe with them. Wherever thes dragons were taking her, she knew she'd be safe.

"Why are you doing this?!" Heather cried at 'Master' "You used to be so..." the purple dragoness was cut off as she wass slashed across her right side.

"Silence!" Master snapped "I can do what I want! This is MY world, I am the ruler of it!"

With that Master left, slamming the dungeon door behind him.

Heather slumpped to the ground once more. Why did this have to happen?! she thought, why did you change into the monster you are? Why did all of you have to become evil?

The teal dragon was looking into a large hourglass as the teen dragoness entered the room from one of the others nearby.

"How is the silver dragon, Marie?" The teal dragon asked the dragoness as she walked over to him.

"She's asleep, Ignitus." The dragoness, Marie, replied. "I healed her wounds with my aura as best as I could. She'll have a scar from her burn and her leg may never heal correctly, even with the cast around it. She would have been tramatized forever if I hadn't have to warp her memories slightly. She now thinks her mother was kidnapped, which is true, and that we saved her before she could suffer the same fate. She has forgotten the battle that had taken place."

The teal dragon, known as Ignitus, turned to Marie and spoke. " Thank you Marie," he said, "this silver dragon is our only hope against 'The Dark One'"

"Do you think we have enough time Ignitus?" Marie questioned, "enough time to raise her before he finds out she's alive?"

"Looking into the hourglass I saw that he has been told the young one was dead. As long as she stays and trains here, she will be safe."

Chapter 2

"Master," a dark pink dragoness began, "the prizoner is beening a pain, she is trying to escape."

Master turned around to face the dragoness, an evil smirk crossing his maw.

"Is that so?" He asked, "Do what you wish to her Hope, teach her to not revolt against me or escape."

"As you wish Master." Hope said turning to leave.

Heather struggled in her cell, trying to break the several chains around her.

She had tried everything, using her elements, fury, even biting at the chais and ramming them against the walls or ground. Nothing worked.

Heather collapsed on the ground in exhaustion, all hope of escape was gone, all hope for the world was gone.

"Look at you" a sickening voice hissed, making Heather turn her head. Hope stood outside her cell, glowing purple eyes filled with no other emotion but hate and evil.

"Who would have thought the Third Purple Dragon would be lying here helpless in a cell." Hope taunted heather as she lie hopeless on the ground.

Heather growled and stood up as best she could, "What's happened to you?!" she snapped, "why did you have to fallow the darkness?!"

"Because Master has made me stronger then I'll ever be! Stronger than even you!"

"He's turned you into a monster Hope!"

"Enough out of you!" Hope yelled at Heather, choking the defenceless purple dragoness with her phychic abilities "There is no hope fore you, no hope for anyone. For your daughter, the silver dragon is dead!"

Destiny yawned and opened her eyes, scanning the room around her.

She stood up and winced in pain before realizing the fact one of her legs looked strange, the one she had broken.

Limping slowly out of the small room she had woken up in she found herself in a much larger room, books lined the walls, an hourglas was in the middle of the room.

Destiny went up to he hourglass, curious about what it was. This thing is funny! Destiny thought tapping it lightly before looking up.

Something beautiful was above her, at was a whit color and shone down on her, making the young dragoness' scales sparkle .

"What is that?" She asked herself, thingking no one was around, "it's so pretty."

"Indeed it is young one," the dragoness, Marie said walking towards Destiny.

"What is it? Who are you?"

"It is called light child, and my name is Marie. That other dragon you saw with me is Ignitus."

"What's light Marie?" Destiny asked.

"Light is a beautiful thing. It used to shine here years ago."

"But that story is something you don't heed to stress about untill you get a bit older."

Destiny and Marie turned around to see Ignitus had entered the room.

"Hi..." Destiny said sheepishly to the teal dragon.

"You have woken up much earlier than we had expected young one" Ignitus continued.

"How is your leg Destiny?" Marie asked as she nussled the silver dragon gently.

"Its fine I guess. It sorta hurts though and... wait, how do you know my name?"

"We have been watching you for awhile now," Ignitus said, "As the Chronicler I have the responcibility of recording the events in a dragon's life her in these books, that book over there is yours, it is very blank for now, as you have many adventures ahead of you."

Master looked at the black sky, there was one thing on his mind, something that was important. Though he didn't remember much, it pained him to think of it.

What was this flashback, what did it mean?

Was it a glimpse of the future? Or of his past?

Master turned away, pushing the thought to the back of his mind, he had many more things to worry about, like stopping those who apposed him, the purple dragoness he held prisoner, and if... the silver dragon was really dead.

Chapter 3

It has been three years since Destiny had been saved. The darkness has gotten much worse, even though Destiny has gotten much stronger.


Destiny tossed and turned in her sleep, nightmares haunting her mind.


She was running, running through a dark wastland, several dragons closing in on her.

She narrowly dodged a blast of fire from a dark red dragon above before being slashed by a black dragon with glowing yellow eyes. This dragon seemed so familiar to her.

Destiny fell to the ground but quickly got back to her feet and ran on.

She soon found herself cornered at the edge of a cliff. The several dragons continued advancing, pushing her further back.

"Leave me alone!" She cried at them.

A large dragon landed behind her, making her turn around.

Destiny stood frozen in fear as she stared into the dragon's demonic eyes.

"Say goodbye child!" he roared, digging his claws into Destiny's chest.


Destiny awoke, panting heavily.

She looked around her and calmed down a bit, seeing that she was in her room, Marie and Ignitus looking at her in worry.

"Destiny are you alright?" Marie asked in concern.

"I had a nightmare..." Destiny whimppered "It was horrible..."

"What did you see young one?" Ignitus asked, worried about Destiny as well.

"I was running from dragons with glowing eyes, one of them, a black one with yellow eyes seemed familiar. I also remember being cornered and then attacked by a dragon with pure white, glowing eyes."

Marie turned to Ignitus who nodded.

"Destiny," Marie began, "It is time to tell you everything."

Yes, Marie is the dragon in my avatar. As for her role with Ignitus I had several ideas in mind but I haven't chosen which one yet exactly.

Chapter 4


"Everything?" Destiny asked, "what do you mean?"

"You see Destiny, this dark world happened many years ago. You fell asleep before I could tell you the rest." Marie replied, "But now it is time for us to finish the story."

"You see, the realms used to be filled with light many years ago. Even if there was a war going on between good and evil."

"War? As in fight?"

"Yes Destiny." Ignitus replied before Marie began to speak again.

"The evil in this world was stopped by two dragons. Both that had been enemies. They defeated the dragon behind everything. nearly sacrificeing themselves, but they were, instead, thrown through time. although it had been four months, they had thought it had been two."

"Is that even possible?" Destiny asked.

"Yes Destiny, it is."

"Several years after returning home, something happened, something that none of them expected, happened. Back before when the realms were saved one of the dragons, had been forced into using its dark powers. Which, over time, consumed it, all good and emotion was now gone."

"That is how the darkness of this world came to be... and how its ruler became the monster he is."

"I-Is there anyway to get rid of this darkness?" Destiny asked, worried.

"That, young dragon...is up to you." Ignitus answered Destiny's question.

"What?!" Destiny questioned in shock, "I'm only a six year old dragon!"

"That is true destiny..."Marie began "but you are a silver dragon. Your powers and abilitys are more powerfull than any other dragon. You are our only hope."

"But I don't even know how to master one of my elements! I'll be killed if I fight anyone!"

"Destiny, the 'Dark One' still does not know you are alive." Marie said, "We weren't going send you out to save the world, not yet."

"Master, the other prizoner is finaly awake" A fire dragoness said.

"So he's finally awoken? Took him long enough." Master said in reply, walking past the fire dragoness towards the dungeons.

"Ugh..." a dragon said from a cell in front of Heather.

Heather turned her head to see another dragon, no, not just any dragon... a purple dragon.

"Where am I?" the dragon asked aloud, thinking no one was there.

"You're a prizoner of the 'Dark One'" Heather replied.

"The 'Dark One'? the dragon asked in confusion, "Who's that?"

"That would be me" a cold voice said.

"You're the 'Dark One'?" The purple dragon asked, growling a bit.

"Indeed I am... Spyro"

"Marie, do you see anything?" Ignitus asked as Marie looked into the large hourglass.

"Not much Ignitus." Marie replied, "But I do know that the 'Dark One' is holding another purple dragon prizoner."

"It seems about the time a new purple dragon should hatch. I figure that's why he's holding him prizoner."

"Sp-Spyro?! Your THE Spyro?!" The purple dragon asked in shock.

"Yes, now, I asume you're wondering why you're here?" The 'Dark One', now known as Spyro, questioned.

"Well...yes actually." The purple dragon in the cell replied.

Heather slapped her forehead with her paw, the reason was painfully obvious.

Spyro began to speak again, his voice emotionless. "I am sure you know the role of the purple dragon."

"Of course I do!" The purple dragon snapped "I'm supposed to stop you!"

"Correct." Spyro continued "I've already killed the first dragon that could oppose me, and now you're next!"

"Leave him alone you traitor!" Heather growled at Spyro.

Spyro turned on her, making her regret saying what she said.

"Let me show you some respect, Heather!" Spyro hised, voice filled with rage.

Before Heather could react she was stapprd hu the chest by Spyro's claw, making the dragoness cry out in pain as she fell to the ground, blood flowing from the wound.

"Speak like that again..." Spyro began, shaking the blood of his claws, "And you'll die like your child!"

Destiny walked the many halls of her 'home', trying to find something.

She came to a bookshelf with a purple book on it.

Using her recently learned psychic abilities, she brought the book over to where she stood.

She read the gold name on the front, 'Spyro'.

Destiny began to carefully turn the pages of the book, reading about the puple dragon's past.

How could someone so pure turn into something so evil? She thought, reading further.

"Destiny you in here?" Marie asked, entering the room.

"Y-yeah, I'm here." Destiny stammered, afraid Marie would be angry at her.

Marie walked to where Destiny's voice had come from to see her looking at one of the may books.

"You wanted to know more about him, didn't you?" Marie asked.

"Yeah." Destiny replied sheepishly, "I just don't understand how he could have become what you say he is."

"Neither can I Destiny. Neither can I." Marie replied.

I just hope that he doesn't find out about you.

Spyro paced back and forth in the dark room where he dwelled, the same thought as before on his mind.

"Grr... what is this stupid thing trying to tell me?!" he growled angrily to himself.

He stopped pacing and once more pushed the thought to the back of his mind.

"No matter." He said, "its nothing important."

Chapter 7


Destiny was thrown back, landing hard on the ground.

"Focus Destiny," Marie said, "If you ever want to master the aura element you need to have great focus."

"Ugh..." Destiny groaned, standing up, "I'll try again."

Destiny closed her eyes, a small blue sphere began to grow in front of her maw.

"That's it. Now open your eyes."

Destiny did as Marie instructed, seeing the orb in front of her.

"Now Destiny," Marie began, "feel its power within you. Launch it forwards."

Destiny followed Marie's instructions and the blue sphere was thrown forwards, crashing through a nearby rock.

"I did it!" Desiny cried happily, "I actualy did it!"

"Yes, but you still have much to learn." Marie added. "But that can wait until later."

------

Heather was unconscious, the wound on her chest continued to bleed.

"No! Destiny!" she cried as her eyes flashed open.

"Who's destiny?" someone asked.

Heather looked to see that it was the young purple dragon across from her that spoke.

"She was my child..." Heather replied, "Cynder killed her a year ago. I've been having nightmares ever since."

"Nightmares are horrible." The purple dragon replied, "I'm Shard."

"Heather." Heather replied.

"I've heard many dragons, well the ones that are still sane, tell about the role of the purple dragon." Shard said, "They say we are meant to save the world. Is that true?"

Heather nodded, "Yes, it is."

'"If that's true, then why is Spyro so evil now? He's a purple dragon as well."

"I wish I knew. But I don't."

------

"Ignitus..." Destiny began, "...you knew Spyro before he turned evil, right?"

"Yes young dragon, I did."

"Well...do you have any idea why he could have become so heartless? I mean, drarkness overpowering him is one thing but... is there anything else?"

Ignitus shook his head, "not that I know of Destiny, no one knows if there was anything else."

Destiny lowered her head in dismay "ok..." she said sadly, "...I guess we'll never know."

Destiny walked off, back to her room where she could read more about Spyro, hoping to find out if she could find anything to help her.

However, she began to feel dizzy and collapsed on the ground, unconscious.

Two blured figures stood in front of her, both of them yelling at each other.

"No! I don't beleive you!" one of them yelled

"Of course you don't" the other one said before the first one was attacked by another blured figure.

Destiny's eyes snapped open.

What the?! What was that about? She asked herself as she stood up.

"Destiny, are you alright?" Marie's familler voice asked.

"I'm fine" Destiny said, "I guess I'm just tired."

"Get some rest then. You'll need it for tomorrow."

"Ok Marie."

That was probably nothing. It was probably just a thought. Right?

The life element basically can bring life back to things. For example: a barren wasteland could be filled with life with the use of the element. There is a price, however... the user is giving up some of their life force; meaning that over use of it for a long time could kill the user.

Chapter 8


Destiny slept peacefully that night, her memory still fuzzy about the battle that had taken place a year before.

All she could think about was light, what did the world look like long ago? What was sunlight?

However, soon visions came to her, pushing away her happy thoughts.

The visions didn't tell much, they were to blurry.

All she could see was a large purple crystal, three dragons fighting above it.

That vision fainted and Destiny saw the figures of many dragons, they were in a beautiful place.

Despite the scene before her... the event wasn't happy.

The white dragons stood around something.

Destiny saw that it was her motionless, bleeding, form on the ground, dead.

The image of Destiny's motionless form soon faded as the young dragoness' eyes shot open.

"What in the world was that?!" She asked aloud

Destiny heard the voices of Marie and Ignitus and decited to eavesdrop.

"I think I found something about what happened to Destiny earlier Ignitus." Marie said, placing a book in front of her.

"She can see the past or the future with an ability called Future Sight. A very rare ability that is for silver dragons only."

"Future Sight..." Ignitus said, "I've heard of that ability, but that was a long time ago."

-------

Is that what has been happening to me lately? Destiny questioned mentaly, I have that kind of ability?

-------

"Can't a dragon with that ability comunicate with the ansestors through telepathy?" Marie asked, "Destiny might be getting messages, advice, and warnings from them."

"Perhaps. It is a signiture ability for her kind to have."

"We shouldn't tell her about this. At least not yet. She is still young after all."

-------

Ansestors? Are those white dragons the ansestors? Destiny questioned herself.

If they are...then who are those other three dragons?
