Chapter One: Reunion

Moments before, Spyro and Cynder had just defeated Malefor, and Spyro had repaired the world.
Seconds later, he and Cynder were on the surface of the world. Alive. Niether could believe it.

That was a year ago now...

Spyro sighed as he beat his wings rythmically, soaring throught the skys. Cynder flew beside him. "What's on your mind, Spyro?"

He responded a few seconds later. "I miss Ignitus."

She didn't respond at first. They continued to fly over the hugh expanse of water, the clouds giving a golden-purple hue. Cynder spotted an Island far below.

"Is that it?"

Spyro looked down. "Yes. It is!"
He closed his wings and dove down through the air fast, with anticipation.

"Slow down Spyro! You'll break you neck!!"

He didn't answer. He was incerdibly excited as he landed, rather hard, but on his feet. This is the place. I know it is. I remember it. The same soft colored grey sand covered the beach he and Sparx had landed on years ago.

Cynder alit beside him. "This is Celestial Caves? It's beautiful."

"Yes Cynder... The Chronicler should await us within."

They walked forward, through the ruins and caves. Lightning flashed overhead. There was a heaviness in the air. Soon they came to the room with four elemental doors; these were broken down, crumbling.


"Hello?" Spyro's voice echoed throughout the large room filled with books as he and Cynder entered. The hourglass in the center glowed bright blue. Dust covered all the books and papers, but strangely enough, the hourglass was spotless. "Chronicler?" Spyro's footsteps echoed loudly as he walked forward.

A rustle of papers was heard from the far side of the room. Footsteps.
A dragon glowing blue, like the hourglass, emerged from the shadows of the room.

"Ah! Spyro, you have come, as I had instructed within your dreams. It is good to see you both, young dragons." He strode forward. A look of Shock came across Spyro and Cynder's faces.

"IGNITUS! Y--- you're the Chronicler?!"

"Yes. I was appointed since the previous Chronicler had spent an Age recording the happenings."

"Wow." Cynder said with surprise, looking over at Spyro. He looked pleased.

"Now, young dragon." Ignitus continued. "There is a matter that I have forseen that involves you---"

Spyro interupted. "What? I thought my destiny was complete." He looked at Ignitus quizically.

"No, Spyro, it is not. Both you and Cynder have yet another---adventure, of sorts---ahead of you." he said mysteriously.

"What is it Ignitus?" Spyro asked. The suspense was getting to him.

"That, young dragon, I cannot tell you for sure. It has only come to me in vague hints and foreshadows. But one thing that is clear is this: There are other worlds beyond our own."

Both Spyro and Cynder looked at each other. Silence filled the room.

I've submitted a rough draft to StartFyre. Waiting for her input

Spyro looked at the floor, disturbed at this new development, thinking hard. Worlds beyond our own? What life forms exist besides the ones of our world? His thoughts wandered.

"Don't trouble yourself, young dragon. I called you here to make you aware. I have told you all I know."

Spyro nodded. "It's good to see you again, Ignitus. I will return, I promise."

Ignitus nodded. Spyro and Cynder turned and walked out. Your return, remains to be seen young dragon... Ignitus thought, as they walked out.

Spyro was unusually quiet as he and Cynder sped down the beach and took flight from the silver sands. Cynder glanced at him.

"Should we start looking?"

"Yes, Cynder. We should. I get the feeling that this world we will find poses a threat to our being."

The sun's rays cut through the purple-gold clouds as the two dragons flew into the sunset.

Chapter Two: Two Worlds Collide


An arrow wizzed past Spyro as he danced aside, sticking in a tree behind him. "Ha! Too slow Hunter!" He taunted.

"You are getting quicker, Spyro." Without looking directly at Cynder he shot another arrow at her. She crouched, eyes fixed on the projectile, then leapt straight up, dodging. She felt the rush of wind it created as it streaked under her; a dull thump resounded as it embedded itself in the ground.

"You really need to work on your aim, Hunter." She commented, landing again. Hunter laughed.

"It is not my objective to harm either of you. Only to make you quicker on your feet. Now come, I think both of you have become faster then our warriors. Agility is useless without strength training."

Hunter walked to the fallen arrows an placed them back in his quiver. Spyro and Cynder had both forgotten about Ignitus' warning, which was almost a year ago now. Following Hunter to another part of the Valley of Avalar, Hunter stopped at a little clearing next to a stone wall in the side of a hill and turned around, throwing his bow to the ground, as well as his cape. "Now, remember Spyro: Don't go easy."

Hunter half crouched in a ready position. Spyro crouched down, and growled. Hunter laid his ears back, hissing. Spyro lunged. Colliding with eachother, Hunter made an attempt to throw Spyro off as they tumbled around; this was no play fight. Spyro's bites and claws were not harmful to Hunter, mainly because of his heavy fur. Hunter eventually came out on top: Spyro was pinned down.

"You're getting better. But you are still leaving openings for the enemy to retaliate." He let Spyro up off his back.

"I know." He panted heavily.

"Two minutes rest. Then, again."

The drills went on throughout the day. One of Cynder's attempts proved to be better then Spyro's.

Hunter was on his back, her jaws on his throat. "Excellant Cynder." She released him, and trotted over to Spyro, a slight haughty look on her face.

"Rub it in, why don't you." Spyro said to Cynder, half laughing.

She smiled and laughed with him.

"You have GOT to be kidding me." Sparx wizzed into the scene. "You let a girl beat you?!" He asked Hunter, incredulously.

"No, Sparx, I did not."

"Right..."

Hunter looked at Spyro. "One thing you do need to work on, Spyro, is your lunge. Throwing your entire body weight into it is the key." He strode over near the rock wall. Spyro got a running start. Contracted his muscles, crouched down, and pushed off the ground. Dirt flew up into the air behind him.

Time almost seemed to slow for him as he shot through the air.

Hunter pulled a fast one on Spyro. As his front paws landed on Hunter's chest, Hunter gripped Spyro by his torso, landed on the ground, throwing Spyro over his head. Spyro's eyes grew wide at this unexpected turn of events.

And at the rock wall that he was hurtling into at high speed.

He didn't have much time to protect himself as the sound of his body making contact with the rock resounded like a thunder clap about the Valley. At least that's what it seemed like.

Where Spyro hit, there were a spider-web-like cracks in the wall. Cynder gasped. Hunter stood up, mouth open, ears back, as Spyro's limp body fell to the ground.

Sparx and Cynder rushed over. "SPYRO!!" Cynder nudged him. No response. Hunter walked up and searched for signs of life.

"Is he dead?" Cynder asked apprehensively.

Hunter stood up. "No. He is not, thankfully. I should have been more car--"

Something caught Hunter's attention. The sun had sunk behind the mountains of the valley by this time. Slender, white rays of light shone through the spider-web cracks from the side of the rock wall. He pricked his ears.

"Oh good, I'm glad he's----" Cynder gasped and froze still.

You and Spyro will find this other world...

Hunter walked closer to the cracks. He picked Spyro up and lay him aside. Looked up and down at the cracks. Reached out with his paw. He hesitated, then gently brushed some of the cracks. Chips of rock fell on the ground. The rays brightened as he dislodged the broken rock.

Bright white light, shining as brilliant as the nothern lights, struck Cynder, Hunter and Sparx in the face.

A swirling vortex shimmering with slight purples and blues was before them.

Cynder looked straight up, and hit the ground in a faint.

Cynder Faints???

If you don't like it, you can get in line and---- (wait, am I actually typing this?!?!! Whoops. ())lol

Yes, it was rather a shock to her.
