So lets throw this longshot question out. What are your guesses as to the ages of the Guardians? (I dunno, But am curious to see what peoples guesses are.)

I think a couple hundred years, Dragons live a long time ( in mythology anyway).

That's still a huge ballpark. I was thinking along the lines of 350 years. Or maybe a 65 year old human equivalent.

Pretty old.
Think about it, if they've been alive as long as Malefor has (10 generations) then that's pretty old.

Ignitus is probably the oldest of the four, and Volteer's probably the youngest. But they're all pretty old.

Ignitus Terrador, Cyril, Volteer. Sound right to anyone? |

He'll be older than that.

A generation is someone's life. For instance, the next purple dragon will be (using Spyro as an example) Spyro's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's. That is a looong time. Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, cause I'll look a total moron.

It could have very well been the same Fire Guardian, or someone else. And to SpyroCrazy, when someone says "This generation", that generally means the people of a new age. That doesn't necessarily mean that's how long an actual generation is.
EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I always understood it. |

They just looked like ignitus without colour to me. But I suppose they could be the ancestors.
Yea ages are: 1.Ignitus 2.Terrador 3.Cyril 4. Volteer Although I gotta say I hate the elements in spyro. Fire and Earth a are good. But electricity and Ice are meant to be Air and Water, which are actually elements. Air dragons can live up to arround five thousands years old, while water comes second around three thousand. Then comes earth at merely 1500 years, and last comes fire at only 1000 years. Those are only averages though

Out of the blue. Do you think Dragon years could be measured in increments like Dog years in reverse. Say X# of Human years could be a Dragon year?

Actually, on the planets where dragons live, a minute is 90 seconds, an hour is 90 minutes, and there are 900 days in a year. Also, a second on the planet is equal to one dragon heartbeat.
Dragons live forever, as long as they are not killed. (which is hard because only one thing can pierce their scales)

Ignitus was not alive when Malefor was around. The Chronicler hints that nearly everything about purple dragons had been forgotten by the time Spyro was born (to be exact all that was know was they are born once every 10 generations and that they are more powerful that other dragons in some way). And there may have other purple dragons between Malefor and Spyro.

@Phantom
Don't you think 9 is a little played through, Nothing can be measured in perfection like that. And dragon scales do crack, and since they are attached to skin they can be uplifted or moved in unpleasant directions. Yes they can deflect the majority, but everything has a weakness.

Yeeees. I don't know why people keep thinking Ignitus is somehow connected to Malefor - we even saw a picture of Malefor with some other dragons around him, and none of them looked like the current guardians. If any of them were alive during Malefor's time, the other three guardians wouldn't have been so clueless as to what Cynder was up to in ANB. (Ignitus had the Pool of Visions) Regarding the topic itself - I don't think LoS dragons are as long-lived as dragons usually are in mythology; I'd say they live just about as long as humans do. In that case, I'd place Ignitus as, at most, early 50s(don't get why people think he's so old), Terrador's probably a couple years older, and Volteer and Cyril are probably a couple of years younger.

ignitus or any of the guardians didnt train him... theyre not that old. in the ruins of warfang, spyro says that the ancestors trained him here, malefor is only still alive becuase ignitus and the other guardians trapped him, no wait, i think that other guardians from a long time ago trapped him, so he eventually stole cynder 10 generations later when spyro was born, and then the guardians were stolen because he needed all the powers of guardians to unlock him, because the powers sealed him away in convexity. yea, thats it. wow, now that i think about it, its compicated...
