Author's Note: The main character is one of the enemies from TEN, the dog-like creatures called the Death Hounds. And the young dragons that are featured are Spyro, Flame, or other dragons, along with creatures such as fairies and other animals. This story is based off my two other Spyro story, which aren't shown in the fandom, but on another site.
Story Summary: After discovering new dragons in Artisans, a Death Hound is intent on killing off the dragons as its main food source until they are wiped out. But when he is locked underground by his draconic prey, the Hound seeks revenge...
Part 1
It was another day in the high hills; the season was spring. A Death Hound was making his usual patrols around his hunting ground in Artisans and had found a hedgehog to eat, but the little animal curled into a ball to protect itself. The carnivore rolled the animal around as it tried to find a way to get it to uncurl, but it didn’t seem to work. Snarling, the Death Hound lifted his head from the hedgehog and continued on his way to find some other prey.
It wasn't long before he found a swam sleeping along the banks of a river. The Death Hound stalked around the bird as quietly as possible until he disappeared into the tall grass. He heard the swan perk up from its sleep and the carnivore appeared behind it, snarling. The swan whipped around in horror only to see the Hound rise up to his hind legs and reared his front paws up to pounce. The swan then squawked desperately, and as the Death Hound pounced for it, the white bird quickly took flight and flew into the air with a cry.
The Death Hound looked up at its fleeing prey, then closed his eyes, sniffing the air for any other animal that could be nearby. He turned his head and sniffed the air once more towards a direction, until the faint scent of a familiar creature reached his nose.
"Dragons..." He growled in a sinister voice, a smile forming on his muzzle before he lowered his body into the tall grass and began following the scent through the hills. Finally, after all these seasons, he can finally find a suitable meal that hasn't lived around the hills for so long...

Part 2
After venturing around for a few minutes, the Death Hound stopped near a patch of tall grass and sniffed the air again to focus on the dragon scent he caught earlier. He looked toward a distant meadow when he noticed the scent was strong, and a dragon was sure nearby there. "Mmm...dragon..." He muttered, his mind and belly now hungry for a kill to satisfy himself and make it through the day. The Hound then started following the scent to where the dragon might be, walking through the hills and meadows in hopes of having the winged reptile as his meal. The scent had lead him into a field and he caught sight of a small, green and blue Magic Crafter dragon looking at something on the ground. Smiling, the Death Hound stalked towards the dragon with his every step as silent as a mouse. He watched the little Magic Crafter suddenly perk up as if she heard something, and the carnivore froze in mid-step, tensing that she might be listening for him. However, he noticed that the dragon wasn't listening for him, but listening for something else. The Hound then resumed stalking quietly toward the little dragon until he snuck up to her, rising up from the cover of the grass on his hind legs and rearing up his front paw in order to pounce on the Magic Crafter at the right time. The Death Hound bared a toothy smile, ready to pounce on the dragon as saliva was already dripping from his jaws at the thought of sinking his teeth into the little morsel. "Welcome back to hunting ground, dragon."

Part 3
The Magic Crafter turned her head, widening her eyes at the sight of the Death Hound standing inches behind her, ready to seize the little dragon. Frightened, she covered her eyes with her wings, bracing herself for the incoming pain the Hound was about to inflict on her. At that moment, as the Death Hound was about to seize the little dragon, he was suddenly tackled to the side as a young, red dragon appeared and brutally rammed into the carnivore's gut. He and the red dragon were painfully sprawled across the grass, stunned for a moment from the blow. The Death Hound slowly rose up to his paws and glared over at the red dragon who was already standing his ground, ready to fight to protect the little Magic Crafter. The carnivore then thought of finishing off the red dragon first and resume killing the little Magic Crafter. As soon as he took a step toward the red dragon, the Hound was suddenly struck to the side as another dragon, a young Peace Keeper, appeared and headbutted into the the carnvore's left flank, causing him to be sent flinging forward painfully into the ground. The Death Hound was lying on his side after being struck, but he quickly picked himself up to his feet again and recovered from the tackle. He turned to the young Peace Keeper with a venomous glare, averting his attention away from the red dragon with the look of murder still gleaming in his eyes. The Hound then began to advance towards the young Peace Keeper, but the red dragon took the opportunity to charge and ram directly into right flank of the Death Hound with all of his might, knocking the carnivore away, and then blew a hot blast of fire onto the hound's body. The singed and smoking Death Hound yelped sharply in pain as he was sent flying painfully into the air in a low arc over the edge of the hill by the red dragon's charge, only to come tumbling down the hill's slope and crashing at the very bottom, where he desperately rolled against the grass until his sizzling body came to a stop. Panting hoarsely in pain, the Hound stood up to his paws and glanced at the three dragons who stood at the top of the hill, watching him. He then quickly took off bounding across the hills towards the other side of Artisans, not wanting to take a chance taking them on again when there were two, young dragons who knew how to fight a carnivore like him...

Thanks, and yeah, the three dragons are from the original series. One of them is Flame. The young Peace Keeper is based on one the dragons from YoTD game, Grayson, who is the same age as Flame, and the little Magic Crafter dragon is Rikki.
Part 4 A few hours had passed that day until it reached the late evening, the Death Hound was still hungry and couldn't find any food anywhere in Artisans. He then thought about the dragons he encountered a while ago. If there were three dragons around, then there are sure to be more of them, and the carnivore would find their home and plan his next move. The Death Hound followed the scent of the dragons and it led him up a tall hill. Once reached the top, he lurked through a patch of tall grass until he caught sight of a group of young dragons standing outside of a large temple, staying out of sight in the midst of the tall grass. The Hound kept low and observed the young dragons as they were about to have a game. "Tonight's the night." He muttered sinisterly, evilly smiling at the young dragons. He thought of a plan when he would come back to the temple at night and kill one of the dragons while they are asleep and probably repeat the process until the whole dragon population is wiped out. A wicked smile appeared on his muzzle as his eyes gleamed at the thought of it, before he quietly backed his way towards the hills of Artisans, still eyeing the dragons with intent...

Part 5
It was night; the owls hooted softly in the distance around the hills. The Death Hound had walked onto the top of the hill where the temple was and looked at it from a distance. His hunting instincts urged the carnivore that the time was exactly right for him to attack. As he stood atop the hill, the Hound noticed all of the young dragons were sleeping outside of their temple, resting soundly. The Death Hound had a wicked smile on his muzzle and knew it would be the perfect opportunity to kill at least one dragon for his hunger. Suddenly, a weak voice lingered softly from the wind blowing in the air and the Hound turned around to see where it came from, but didn't see anyone or anything. "Flame...answer me..." The Death Hound ignored the voice and began making his way quietly toward the sleeping dragons. He drew closer and closer to them, looking at each and every one of the dragons only to see them still sleeping and unaware of his presence. As he stopped to choose which dragon to kill, a voice cry out loudly from a little, gray Dream Weaver dragon that was resting a few feet away from the Hound, "AAAAIIIIIEEEEE!!!" All at once, the dragons began to wake up from their slumber and looked around in alarm; the red dragon from earlier was the first to spot the Death Hound dead in his sights. The Hound then gasped out a snarl of shock, drawing his head back slightly. At that moment, the red dragon roared and lunged at the Death Hound, tackling the carnivore away from the other dragons and sending the both of them rolling back towards the hills in a tangle of paws, legs, and tails. After recovering from the tangle, the Death Hound snarled as he watched the red dragon jumped back onto the ground in front of him, ready to take on the Hound. The carnivore beared his teeth as he snarled viciously, knowing that he can easily take this dragon on and finish him off in a few moments. However, the Hound glanced away from the red dragon as he noticed four other young dragons had approached and lined up beside their red companion, glaring at the carnivore altogether in fighting position, threatening to take him down all at once. The Death Hound scowled as he drew back slightly. He wasn't stupid enough to try and take on five dragons at once, so he turned around and quickly fled back towards the cover of the hills to avoid fighting them. As he ran through the darkness of the hills, the carnivore heard the red dragon shout to his comrades, "Pull back to the temple!" The Death Hound finally reached the boundaries of the hills, panting slightly from his sprint. He looked back to the temple, watching the dragons backing their way inside, but were still cautious that the carnivore would try and attack them again. The Hound narrowed his eyes with scorn and knew he had lost the perfect opportunity to kill one of those dragons to satisfy his hunger. Growling, the carnivore snarled to the dragons from a distance of the woods as he disappered into the night, his words showing his true intent... "One by one, I get you, dragons. One by one..."

Actually, he'll kill them like any carnivore would. :3
Part 6 The Death Hound had to wait until nightfall in order to attack the dragons again, knowing that they are on high alert in the day than they are at night. Fortunately, he managed to kill a few small animals in order to make it through the day. Until the second oppurtunity finally arrived. The Death Hound walked through the dark hills and meadows of Artisans to get to the temple where the dragons are. He had decided to use the same strategy he used the other night to attack the dragons: come back to the temple and kill one of the dragons while they are fast asleep. After climbing up the hill of the temple, the Hound laid low in the tall grass as he stalked towards the clearing around the temple. He noticed the dragons weren't sleeping outside the temple this time, now possibly resting inside their temple since the Hound's last unexpected attack. The carnivore slowly approached the temple, sneaking as quietly as possible towards it. As he walked out of the tall grass around the temple, the Hound heard a voice shout from the temple's doors, "Dog breath!" After spotting a small, blue creature fly into the temple, the Death Hound had walked up to the temple's doors and forged an evil smirk, before he stepped inside and followed the animal, looking around the hallways as he did. The Hound hurried quietly through the hall while following his prey, but he lost sight of the animal and stopped in his tracks within one of the temple's chambers. The Death Hound tilted his head slightly and muttered, "No dragon?" He turned around and was about to head back to the entrance to the temple, when he stopped in mid-step and saw a blue fairy peeking out from behind a pillar. She then started flying off deeper into the temple, and the Hound turned back around and quickly followed the blue fairy to wherever she was going. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the blue fairy flutter into a tunnel on a wall. "Fairy mouthful now." The Death Hound said with a toothy smile, "Dragon later." He then walked towards the tunnel and slipped inside to trail after the blue fairy. After he finished off the little fairy, he can return killing one of the dragons. The Death Hound saw the blue fairy fly through the rocky tunnel in front of him as she flew in further, trying to get away from him as possible. The space in the tunnel was narrow, but it was big enough for the carnivore to move quicker than before and the Hound was gaining on the fairy. However, as he ventured further into the tunnel, the Death Hound slowly stopped and noticed how dark it was in the tunnel ahead of him. No matter how hard he peered his eyes, all he saw was darkness. The Hound then turned his head around, and since he can't turn his body around to see, he began walking backwards towards the tunnel entrance, not wanting to take any chance getting lost in it to get a little fairy. Perhaps he can go and find the other dragons that are around the temple instead; if one of them is alone. "Dog breath!" However, the blue fairy taunted the Death Hound again, echoing out to him from the depths of the tunnel. In response, the Death Hound turned his head back around to the tunnel's depths with an angry snarl, and then roared furiously as he charged forth through the rock tunnel to get to the fairy. When he saw the fairy in his sights, he instantly pounced for the blue creature with his front paws reared and his teeth bared for the kill. However, the fairy slipped through a sizable crack, only for the Hound to land in front of it, nearly seizing the blue creature with his paws. The carnivore growled and snarled furiously at the blue fairy with murderous anger, seeing her panting and gasping in fear at him from the safety of the hole she was in. Still growling through his sharp, closed teeth, the Death Hound lifted his head from the crack and still glared at the little fairy inside it, ceasing his fierce snarls. However, a sound from behind him interrupted his rage, and the carnivore curiously turned his head to the entrance of the tunnel, only to see it being sealed in by large rocks until the tunnel entrance was completely sealed tight, covering the Death Hound in darkness and blocking him into the tunnel...

Part 7
The Death Hound widened his eyes with disbelief and shock. Did those dragons plan this?! To lock him inside this tunnel?! And that fairy lured him in here! Growling, the Death Hound noticed the blue glow of the fairy has vanished, leaving him in blinding darkness. He then tried to find his way through the tunnel he was in, hoping to find a way out and get back to those dragons. However, the darkness made it hard for him to see and the carnivore had sometimes stumbled and tripped over something in the tunnel he was locked into. It wasn’t long before the Hound saw faint light and found himself in another world. He looked around and noticed he was deep underground. The carnivore started walking through the tunnels to find his way out and see the light of day. In his mind, he swore when he gets out of the underground, he will find his way back to those dragons and kill every single one of them for locking him in this underground world. They will regret the day they messed with a Death Hound. As he traveled through numerous tunnels and passageways to find a way out, and what seemed to be an eternity, the Hound finally saw light ahead at the end of a tunnel and he raced for it. When the carnivore went out, he wasn't where he expected to be. The Death Hound found himself in another part of the Artisans realm, far from his hunting grounds. Wherever part of Artisans he is in now, he's not staying around for long...

Nope, only the dragons and the Death Hound are the characters in this story. :3
Part 8 After a few months on the far side of Artisans, the Death Hound managed to survive in unknown territory by killing the small animals that lived around in the area, before began making his way back to the area where the Temple resided. During his journey, he came across a baby Bulb Spider that was now frantically trying to drive away the Death Hound. As the Hound stepped forward to deliver a deadly bite to the spider, the baby whipped its small, lethal fangs at him to defend itself, making the Hound snarl ferociously as he drew back slightly to avoid getting bitten. Unfortunately, a full-grown Bulb Spider appeared and came to its young's aid, dangerously baring and lashing its large fangs and legs at the Death Hound. The Death Hound quickly backed away as he tried to fend off both Bulb Spiders at the same time. However, knowing that he can't take on two spiders at once, the Hound drew back and ran a few feet away from the Bulb Spiders until he was out of their reach as he stopped and turned his head, glaring at them. The Bulb Spiders were still shrieking and groaning aggressively at the carnivore's presence, and the Death Hound responded by baring his teeth and snarling at them. "Lucky for you, I got other things to do." The Death Hound growled, before he turned around and faced the hillside; his eyes glinting sinisterly, "I have places to go, old friend dragons to visit..."

Yeah, it's like a few months in Part 8, after he was sent to the other side of Artisans. Now, he seeks revenge on the dragons.
Part 9 During his journey, the Death Hound spotted a red squirrel and he didn't get the chance to think as his hunger took over and he charged toward the little animal. Unfortunately for the carnivore, the red squirrel scurried up a nearby tree after noticing him, and the Death Hound stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the squirrel climbing onto a branch and looking down at the Hound. In his attempt to catch the little animal, the Death Hound tried climbing up after the squirrel, but he only slid back down to the ground, since his body and claws weren't meant for climbing trees. The Hound stared up at the squirrel for a moment with his paws pressing against the tree trunk, but knelt back on all fours and uttered a snarl of aggravation as he turned around and walked away, angry for losing a meal he couldn't reach. Fortunately, it didn't matter. Since he was on his way back to his old hunting ground, he would feast on the dragons who lives there. His hate and revenge kept him going, and he won't rest until he has arrived at the temple by the end of the day and killed all of the dragons until they are wiped out. The Death Hound walked through the rolling plains, descending down a small hill while making his way towards the Temple that laid on the far side of the horizon, beyond miles of hills and castles...

Wait and see :3
Part 10 After a few hours wandering through the hills, the Death Hound had a wicked grin on his muzzle when he planned on attacking the dragons by surprise in their home. The thought of sinking his teeth into their necks almost made him salivate with anticipation. Suddenly, a loud cry screamed out from above, and the Hound looked up to the sky and saw the fleeting form of a young phoenix circling high over his head. "Nobody wants you in Artisans!" The phoenix angrily cawed out, as she swoop down at the Death Hound and then flew back to the air again, causing the Hound to duck his body down to ground just in time to avoid the talons of the phoenix. The Death Hound looked up to his aerial attacker with a glare. "Dragons locked me underground." He growled, as he turned around and looked to another direction, "They think I won't come back...Stupid lizards." Saying nothing else, the Death Hound continued on his way, running across the hills to get to his destination. He was intent on returning to his hunting ground and have his revenge on the dragons that lived by there. The phoenix dove at him again, and the Hound looked up to see her soar back to the sky, before he resumed bolting through the hills, hearing the bird crying out into the sky...

I'll put up the Part 12 later. Part 11 It was night when the Death Hound finally reached the boundaries around the temple; the perfect time to attack those dragons and make them pay for what they did to him. After following the scent through the hills, the Death Hound saw the large temple from a distance and quickly bolted towards it in a fast and steady pace. The carnivore then snarled ferociously, as he appeared and laid low within the tall grass in front of the temple, where he figured that the dragons were unaware of his presence here in their home again and are probably enjoying themselves. Snarling softly, the Death Hound emerged from the cover of the tall grass that surrounded the temple and sniffed the air, instantly detecting the fresh scent of his prey still lingering around. "It's time to feed, little dragons." The Death Hound muttered sinisterly, baring an evil toothy grin to the temple as his yellow eyes gleamed brightly in the darkness of the night, "It's time..." Brimming with anticipation and exacting his revenge, he quietly advanced towards the temple's entrance to start his sneak attack on the dragons...

Part 12
Inside the temple, the Death Hound quietly made his way through the corridors and hallways. He bared an evil toothy grin, at the thought of killing some of the dragons to satisfy his craving stomach and taking out some of his vengeance on them as he continued lurking through the hallways. The Hound then walked into the temple's gardens, but as he took another step forward, he uttered a whine of shock when his left paw stepped in a large pit, tilting him off-balance and causing him to fall into the pit, crashing at the very bottom. The Hound was lying on his back from the fall, but tit got worse when loose dirt began raining down upon him by someone atop the pit. The Hound snarled as the heavy dirt fell upon him, almost suffocating him. Once the dirt had stopped pouring on him, with an angry snarl, the Death Hound rolled up back to his paws and began climbing up the pit. "Back!" The Hound heard someone say, and as he gripped the top of the pit with both front paws and pulled himself out, the Death Hound snarled ferociously when he saw the same red dragon and the young Peace Keeper backing away from him. He glared intently at his draconic prey and growled fiercely with vengeful hatred in his eyes as he lunged forward. He then saw the two dragons turn tail and scurry to the other side of the gardens, and the Death Hound instantly trailed after them, intent of killing them first. As he chased after the two dragons, the Hound just noticed a ledge in front of him and skidded to a halt, but did it too late and he landed square on top of the thorns of a thorn bush. Yowling in pain, the carnivore jumped up to his hind legs and howled in agony, feeling several sharp thorns piercing into his chest and stomach. The Death Hound regained his composure only to see five dragons, including the red dragon and the young Peace Keeper, standing before him, growling fiercely and baring their teeth with smoke trailing out their nostrils to show that they were threatening to kill him. The Hound stood back on all four legs and started backing away from the dragons, seeing the incoming threat... The next thing he knew, the Death Hound was running away from the dragons through the temple, hearing them growling and roaring violently with fury behind him. He quickly bounded out of the entrace of the temple as its doors opened apart for him to escape. He was looking back at the dragons who were chasing him, scowling to himself at his failed attempt to secretly kill at least some of the dragons for his revenge. The Hound then turned his head back towards the hills to continue running. Those dragons must've somehow known he was coming back to get revenge, preparing his arrival with traps and ambushes. As the Death Hound ran towards the edge of the hill, he heard the red dragon shout out to him, "Go find easier prey, belly crawler, there's none here!" Fortunately, the Hound wasn't fazed by the surprise attack and was still fueming with revenge on the dragons. As he slowed down his pace, he stopped and turned his head around, looking to the red dragon and the young Peace Keeper, who were standing at the entrance of their temple to make sure the Hound was gone. "I'll wait out here till you come." The Death Hound said, "Sooner or later, you'll come." He then turned around and began walking away. "Wait all you want." He heard the red dragon growl back, "We're plenty of food and we won't be out for a long time." The young Peace Keeper added, "And you won't find any prey around here. Everyone's cleared out till you're gone!" As the Death Hound was descending down the hill, he heard the red dragon's words shouting to him one last time, "Stay here and you starve, you butt sniffer!" He hate to think it, but the red dragon was right. If the Hound stayed there, he would've been killed by the dragons. He has to find some other food somewhere fast to survive and live long enough to get his revenge, or he'll die of starvation...

Part 13
A few hours had passed, and the Death Hound was sniffing at an entrance that lead to the Temple's gardens. Unfortunatey, it was sealed tight with dirt and rocks the dragons buried with to prevent the Hound from getting in. He then turned and looked around, searching far and wide at the landscape for any signs of prey. However, he couldn't find any living creature ever since he fled the Temple. Not knowing that the dragons had warned the creatures about the Hound's return, the carnivore was becoming a little desperate for something to eat. "No food...nowhere." The Hound muttered softly, looking at the hills surrounding him, "Must be some...somewhere." He then started moving on to the other part of the hills, hoping to find live animals to prey upon. As the hound walked walked up a small hill to get a better look at his surroundings, he uttered a soft snarl when he spotted the rock shelter with a jagged hole was resting in a few feet before him. He also caught a whiff of a familiar scent coming from the rocks. "Mmm...smell dragon!" The Death Hound muttered eagerly. With an anticipated snarl, he leapt forward and began making his way towards the rock shelter, knowing that a dragon might be around there. The carnivore then slowed down his pace and quietly approached the rock shelter from behind, walking out from the side and then looked around. He spotted the young phoenix he saw earlier while he was traveling through the fields sound asleep. The Hound knew this would be the opportunity to feast so he crept toward the phoenix as quietly as possible. Unfortunately, the phoenix perked up from her slumber and instantly saw the Hound. At that moment, the carnivore immediately pounced for the phoenix with a growl, but the fire bird had already took off to the air, desperately flapping her wings to gain altitude. The Death Hound looked up to the sky, seeing the phoenix screeching out with anger and flying off into the distance. He then faced back to the rock formation, and inside the hole...was a little blue dragon. The Death Hound began walking towards the dragon in her shelter with a wicked grin on his muzzle. Finally, he found a prey that can't even defend itself. When he reached the shelter, the Hound lifted his left paw and reached in for the little dragon. He would've clawed her if the blue dragon hadn't kicked at the Hound's paw with her back foot. The Death Hound pulled his paw out of the hole and smiled evilly at the dragon's futile attempt. "Come out, little dragon, no more waiting." The Death Hound growled with an evil grin, looking at the little dragon through the hole, "I hungry tonight."

Part 14
The Death Hound had easily slipped half of his body into the hole formed by the rocks to get close to the dragon. The front half of his slender body easily fitted through the hole and he got closer and closer to his trapped prey. Outside of the shelter, the carnivore's tail slowly wagged at the thought of finally having a meal and killing one of the dragons that lived in the hills. As the Hound raised his claws, the little dragon gasped with dread and backed further into the shelter, missing the carnivore's swiping claws and realizing that she couldn't move any further back to escape the Death Hound. "Won't feel a thing, dragon." The Death Hound said with a grin, almost reaching the blue dragon. Of course, it will hurt a lot once the carnivore grabs hold of her and rip her to pieces like any other prey, which might take out some of his anger and revenge on the other dragons. However, a voice rang out from outside, responding to the Hound's earlier dialogue... "And neither will you till we get done!" The Death Hound heard the voice from outside the rock shelter and lowered his paw from the blue dragon, looking over his shoulder to the opening. He then backed his way out of the rock formation and looked up to the source of the voice from atop of the rocks. The Hound heard footsteps coming from the top and listened closely as they grew louder. Suddenly, the red dragon appeared and jumped down from atop of the rocks with a savage war cry, followed by three other dragons of his group as they jumped on the Death Hound altogether. The Hound widened his eyes, right before the dragons leapt onto him and knocked him away from the little dragon hiding within the rocks. He fought and bit, but he was no match for four dragons attacking him at once. He failed to have his revenge on the dragons by killing them all. Ultimately, the Hound was overpowered by the dragons he tried to prey on, and as the red dragon delivered the final blow, the Death Hound uttered a dying moan before he collapsed onto the ground, closing his eyes for the last time and exploding into a cluster of gems... End

Thanks, this story also based off my two other ones. The Death Hound appears in both of them as the main antagonist.

And this Death Hound in this story was just a normal carnivore, he had eaten young dragons before, until they moved into another realm or something. Now, the arrival of new dragons appeared in his home and thought it would be a good idea to eat them as one of his main food source again.
