Seriously speaking, there's no way they're actually going to go through with this to the fullest extent. I mean what are they going to do, ban more than 90% of their customers?

I personally don't like Discord that much, at least when compared to Skype, but it's almost as if Microsoft wants Skype to fail. lmao This is the literal definition of corporate suicide. lol

Basically, if you talk about piracy in a forum, the forum owners can be held accountable if they don't remove it before someone brings in law enforcement. This also means no place that allows discussion of illegal activities, but good luck enforcing that, though reddit pretended to work with it and banned a bunch of subs about trading airsoft guns.

Like someone says a mildly offensive joke and then like 20 people sue and need a "safe space."

If they honestly want to do this, it'd make more sense to just add a report option instead.
Even if one's saying slurs, I don't feel like that's a cause for punishment unless it's being used in an offensive/unironic context, and even then, if nobody they're talking to cares, it isn't really any of Microsoft's business. :/

As someone who has been raped more than once, I still personally don't see the problem with rape jokes (Hell, I make them myself sometimes) so long as you know your audience and don't say them around people who are uncomfortable with it.
I don't think someone's disgusting just because they have a dark sense of humor. :/ If they do it around people they know don't like it, then they're just an asshole at that point.

I suppose if you mean someone saying that they want someone to have that happen to them, then yeah, that's ****ed up, though.

Turns out that Microsoft will not be listening in on calls or reading people's messages, but will rather be relying on users to report inappropriate content. (Which may also include the need for evidence as well)

Seems like the original statement was just worded really badly, though obviously it's their fault for wording it in such a way in the first place. :/ Happy to see this is the case, and not the alternative, though.

I used Skype for so long so I was really reluctant to switch, but once I finally did I realized how many issues Skype actually has that they refuse to fix.

I highly doubt that first part. Millions upon millions of people still use Skype, and Discord is generally not geared towards a lot of the people that use it.
And plus, it wouldn't be the "final nail" because, if you had read what I posted, you'd notice that they just worded the original statement really badly.
