Here's a topic to tell things that are incredibly stupid that you hear people say. Gonna start this off with someone in my History class named Tessa.

A while back, she claimed that lovers always eat spaghetti in the movies because it represents their intestines fitting together.

She also recently claimed that churros are a traditional Chinese dish. (We have a Chinese exchange student in our class too.)

Flashback to 8th grade science, my friend Michael suggested that instead of the dangerous chemicals cigarettes have, e-cigs contain poisonous fruits.

I was playing CoD with a friend a few weeks ago, when he told me he had played a match with someone who was speaking Mexican...

I don't remember exactly how the conversation went, but apparently he didn't know that they speak Spanish in Mexico, and that it originated in Spain, where it's also spoken...

I can't stand people who keep parroting whatever they see in the news without any second thought. It's terrifying to see how easily people start to believe things if they simply hear them being said enough times.

Oh, that one is a good way to segway into what I heard. Brazilians are pretty scared at how well Trump is doing(yes,even if it's not the presidential election yet), so people have come up with pretty stupid explanations for it. One I heard from a relative is that US citizens are internally racist, antisemitic and horrible people, and they secretly vote for Trump because he's saying what they're all thinking.

If I wasn't so scared that someone seriously thought this I'd have bust a gut laughing. Later I heard people from news outlets here saying the same thing and it stopped being funny altogether, because it's obvious from who the relative parrotted from.

Ah, that reminds me that I need to reply to HIR's post on the gun control topic.

But yeah, that's pretty much the sorta stuff that I meant. Take the anti-vaccination movement for instance. From what I understand it first gained some traction because a famous person advocated it, and from thereon it spread locally, largely fueled by the following media coverage.

Yep. The government doesn't want you to know, but we're all half platypus.

Also, "How do I make the treadmill move when I run or do I just have to jog in place?" from a lady jogging on a treadmill that was turned off.

Actually, genetically speaking, that is correct. All mammals (and, more distantly, all life forms on Earth) are distantly related. Plus, we share 98% of our DNA with chimpanzees and 50% with bananas, so so I imagine platypuses would have to be somewhere in between there.

The reason I find it dumb is because you say "Any", which makes it sound like words that can sometimes be meand as a non-swear word come over as a swear word and therefore is illigal to say


Such as "Cancer". Translate that to dutch and it's a swear word if used in the correct sentence.
