So, a user on Instagram has informed us that a Double Pack of Bowser and Clown Cruiser, as well as a Double Pack of Donkey Kong and Barrel Blaster, will be coming in early 2016. They said they can't share where this information came from but it's from a "reliable source". As much as I want this to be real, there's no actual proof. So naturally I'm skeptical.

What do you guys think?

No, I'm pretty sure it was officially said that DK and Bowser wouldn't be sold separately, and I assume the same goes for their vehicles.
That and it's very rare that we get anything other than rumors and fakes from Instagram.

Doubtful but if it happens just wait for all the angry parents who don't read the box ad then start complaining that they don't work on their kids system.

Now that a few months have passed and enough time was given to amiibo fans to get into Skylanders, it would make sense that they release the figures outside the Starter Packs. Who is the user? Someone completely random or someone who said things in the past that were true?

I got the Racing Dark Starter for Christmas just to play as Bowser. Don't make me feel like my mom wasted a hundred bucks, Activision.

Okay but seriously now, I don't believe it. Remember how with Trap Team there were so many people thinking they could play as the newer characters in the older games (to the point where they actually made a chart saying "All right, look you idiots, this is what does and doesn't work!"), god knows how many parents of Xbox or PlayStation owners would buy that double pack.

They've had those charts for every game since Giants. :/

Yeah, it's most definitely fake, but we might as well discuss it.

I second that comment about the angry parents not realizing they are console specific. Pretty much positive they would only sell console specific Skylanders with the console game.

They could easily sell these in the amiibo section with the disclaimer that they double as Skylanders, but only on Nintendo consoles. If parents get angry, it is their fault for not reading.

I don't really see how some stating, definitively, and without proof, that the amiibo figures won't see a solo release are any better than those saying they will without proof.

From the consumer standpoint, there's no real downside to these getting a solo release, aside from stupid consumers who don't read the package and have to bring them back for a refund (which already happens for various stupid reasons). Going to happen? Who knows.

Err, what source? I highly doubt the source was some higher up from Activation, so why not tell?

Umm...why all the childish bickering and arguing? It's not like anybody cares...most people have their Skymiibos already and those who still want them will see them in clearance bins when starter packs are $10-15 later in 2016. True or not, this rumor doesn't rock the boat in the Skylanders landscape in the slightest for me. Not sure why people in this thread are getting all uppity and having this rumor ruffle their feathers so much.

What about a Kaos trophy???

They could just put the Amiibolander packs in Amiibo package, you know. It'll be the parents' fault if they still mix it up.

SilverWolf already said some things that proved to be real. While I will not have 100% sure that it's true, I think that we can hear him, and see what happens in January.

It's simple: Post the proof at the same time as you put out the info...

I'm still not believing it. I mean, for Bowser and the Clown Cruiser I can understand because... Let's be honest, they can't keep milking the Wii forever, especially when even Nintendo has stopped doing it. But DK and the Barrel Blaster would make no sense. I mean, if you own the Wii U version of the game, then you already own those two characters. Why not make it Spitfire and Hot Streak? Because that was a PREEEETTY big complaint regarding the Skymiibos...

Personally, I really want this to happen as I want the Skymiibos but I'm not spending money on more starter packs.

BUT, there's no definite proof this is happening. So I'm going to bet it won't happen. If it does indeed end up being true, I'll post a video of my doing the Stan Wrong Song.

I feel there was some unreasonable stuff being posted in this thread.
We've had this "no proof" song and dance on the forums a hundred times. No one is saying you have to believe everything posted 100% - but, by the same token, there was no proof they weren't coming - so how is someone saying they're coming (which, without proof, was still a reasonable concept) any worse than those claiming they were not coming without proof?

The tip to always being right? When you don't know the answer, shut your mouth. Was given that tip in grade school and it has saved me more than once in life.

I thanked the actual person who provided us actual proof of these packs, unlike few who simply chose to not provide their proof and sources then acted rather egotistical about us not believing their unsourced claims.
