Hmm, Ignitus is definitely the oldest but not 600 . . . maybe between 100 and 200?

I got a big book o' dragonology here. European dragons (which is what the Spyro dragons seem to be, minues Cyril) live for around 400 years. So Ignitus is definately the oldest, at around 250. Cyril looks like a Frost dragon, and they live for longer. So, for all we know, Cyril could be a young-ish Frost dragon, but old for a European dragon.

As for Spyro and Cynder, well, I say between the 10-11 mark.

Yeah Cyril's obviously a dragon that would have originally (on earth) made his home in the Arctic or Antarctic, depending on where he was born. And if he likes penguins or not of course.

I've got an interesting set of theories for the Spyroverse in LoS.

Elder Dragon Guardians: 70-ish
Spyro, Cynder and Sparx: between 2 and 6 years old (depending on the dragon life cycle and the age at which a dragon reaches maturity)

Sparx seems older than 6 though - seeing as he was born the same day as Spyro but dragondlies probably mature quicker anyway.

STD Spyro was really young though!

I don't think the gardians are THAT old....

Yeah, I think Sparx matured faster than Spyro because of the whole "different species" thing. Spyro isn't even half grown, but Sparx is at least an adolescent dragonfly (if not an adult).

As for the original Spyro, yeah, he was very young. I always pegged him to about twelve or thirteen (equivalent to us, anyways) because of his attitude. He could easily be eleven, though. I used to have to babysit kids like him.

Babysit? Juding by the I guess it wasn't too bad! The Guides (10 - 11 year old ones) drive me crazy sometimes. Like when they chase my friends with a dead crab and.... oh wait I was in hysterics then!

It depended on the day if babysitting was good or bad (I had to watch these kids every weekday for the summer). The day the four-year-old wiped snot in my hair was bad. The day he and his sister both gave me a hug was good.

I still think the gardians arent that old. And I saw a documentary on TV about dragons and they can only live up to 40 years old.

The ages of the characters are total mystery to me but considering the fact I have tied the storyline of Legend into the original storyline with my series I have to say that Ignitus and the other Guardians aren't ancient in age because they are still alive in my series which takes place 100s of years in the future aka Original Spyroverse. As for Spyro, Cynder and Sparx.... they are all 12 years old in Legend of Syro: A New Beginning. In the soon to be released sequel, they are a little older but not by much since Eternal Night continues very close to where the first game ended. Oh, and get ready for a real shocking surprise at the end of the game. Let's just say that things are going to get really complicated.

Exactly. You could pull a "me" here... I said the Legend trilogy took place 150 years before the present day. And that Spyro's already come... gone... and was reborn with magic.

I used some info from the old series for my ideas. The Year of the Dragon occurs every twelve years, so a new generation is born every twelve years, which means that the purple Guardian of prophecy is born every one hundred twenty years.

Ooo, yay! I finally remembered my justification for putting the dragon life cycle at twelve years!

I think the actual gamemakers (who was doing Spyro at any such time) should have made his age clear to us.

Dark master: 132 (Try some calculating. Dark master is PURPLE DRAGON (like Spyro), purple dragons hatch every 10 generations. 1 dragon generation had 12 years, Dark master must hatch 120 years before Spyro. Finaly: 120 + Spyro´s age (12) = 132)

The gaurdians: Between 1 and 4 centuries
The Chronicler: Around 1200 years
Kane: Mid 30s
Gaul: 40-50 years
Dark Master: A couple thousand years, or even more.

I don't wanna do the other series, but you have to remember what the characters have said about the times in the game. The Chronicler has said he's been waiting for over 1000 years, the Dark Master was the FIRST purple dragon, and the gaurdians would have had to of earned their place. And for Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx, you gotta remember he was 9 in the first game, and the LoS series is based before it.

The Chronicler is over a thousand years old (he says so himself, if I recall rightly).

Gaul is older than the Dark Master (who might be older than the Chronicler; it is not made clear if the Chronicler and the Dark Master are contemporaries or not), but we see Gaul in cut scenes where we also see the DM and, at that time, Gaul looks the same as he does in his fight with Spyro. Ergo, Gaul is really freakin' old.

Kane is old enough to know how to be a good leader, so I'd say he's in his thirties or forties.

Mole-Yair and his brother are probably in their sixties.

Looking at Gaul, you can see he's very old (he's got age spots on his bald head in the fight scene, all of his hair is gray, etc). I think the only reason he's still alive is because of the DM. As for him being older than the DM, as I said, we see him in cutscenes alongside the DM and he appears the same as he looks in TEN, which means he was already very old when he met the DM. The DM was exiled when he was young and the games, so far, have implied that dragons age in a similar time span as humans do (though they are capable of living longer). Ergo, Gaul is older than the DM.

Okay, so the first three Spyro games weren't actually spaced between three years.

Given that Spyro never really aged much in the Insomniac trilogy, I tend to think they all took place in less than a year's time.
