darkSpyro

Plot: The Darkness has grown in power, and is now manifesting in the shape of a Hydra with a head for all of the elements. It has imprisoned most of the Skylanders, and Spyro is the only one left. Now hd must find a way to free the Skylanders and defeat the Darkness, and the only way to do it is to create portals to new, strange worlds and recruit new Skylanders.

Rules:
1: Normal RP rules apply. (No Mary-sues/Gary-stus, no godmodding, etc)
2: You can use fan-made Skylanders or characters from other media converted into Skylanders.
3: I am controlling Spyro.
4: If your character rescues a Skylander, anyone can use that Skylander.
5: I am the GM, but Wolfgang can be assistant GM if she wants.

Personality: Thornie is normally nice and a normal dragon. About once a month, her evil instincts kick in and she fights without giving up. (Like the reverse of a werewolf, she uses her powers for good and gets the transformation on a new moon and the nights immediately before and after it.) She enjoys eating berries and cooking for the rest of the Skylanders in her spare time.
Backstory: Thornie was originally a minion of Kaos. She spread chaos and destruction over Skylands and was feared by all. One day, she was fighting Camo when she realized that Camo was actually her brother! She turned on Kaos and got rid of him for a while and she was made a Skylander.

Personality: Proud, calm and collected. Not very good with words and doesn't like to associate with others. Has lots of determination and is usually very focused on a goal. Kumara is often misunderstood from these traits. She is actually very loyal to those who are close and can become overprotective at times too.
Backstory: Kumara is one of the three types of griffins in the realm of Niffiria. Blue griffins are common and there can only be one red or black griffin in the world at a time. Kumara is one of these rare black griffins who were said to be cursed until Griff undid the curse. Kumara is the first black griffin to be without the curse so she is forever good willed.
Other: a Griffin's weakness is water no matter what.

At any rate, here's my character. If you've read it in MugoUrth's RP, basically nothing's changed.

Name: Bite Fright
Gender: Male
Element: Dark
Powers: Has supernatural strength, sonic-based attacks, and can inflict friends and foes alike with a temporary burst of lycanthropy

Personality: Bite Fright tends to categorize people into three groups: Strangers, Friends, and Enemies, and it's wise to stay in one of the first two groups. When near those he trusts (including other Skylanders) he has a welcoming and friendly personality, and he would do anything to protect them. Unfortunately, this takes a lot of self control, which he is a bit too happy to ignore in the presence of foes. He has a quirky, half-insane, and slightly hostile tone to his voice. His quotes upon doing nonviolent tasks (Opening locks, winning at skystones, finding treasures) are friendly, but his in-battle quotes have more of a bestial, growly feel to them.
Backstory (optional): Originally a human named Talbot, he was a fiercely loyal knight who defended his home from the ghosts, zombies, vampires, and other miscellaneous spooks of his part of Skylands. One fateful day, he single-handedly fended off an entire pack of werewolves from his hometown, and Eon was impressed enough by his bravery to make him a Skylander the next day. However, he had been hiding a bite from that battle, and the next full moon, one of his missions went awry as he found himself turned into a mindless beast. Luckily, his comrade Ignitor was there to keep him from harming civilians until Eon arrived. He attempted to use a powerful spell to keep the monster under control, but it came with a price. Talbot was in full control of his body again, but found himself unable to transform back into a human. He swore revenge on the beasts that had cursed him, but has recently began to embrace his new talents, favoring his claws over any sword or shield. With a new name and a renewed sense of self, Bite Fright decided that the most constructive output for his rage was best used for fighting those who would do others wrong.
Other: Since this is an RP about new recruits and the 'current' Skylanders are kidnapped, I guess he'll have returned from a soul-searching journey after his first feral 'episode', serious about becoming a Skylander.

1: Giant Slab Swing (Swings the giant slabs he wields as weapons)
2: Long Swing (Using telepathic force, he shoots his slabs out and they levitate out infront of him. If he spins around, he can knock enemies about. Good for a long ranged attack, but since he has to control them manually, he is vulnerable up close.)
3: Mighty Beast Rumble (He charges up his mighty power then slams his slabs down to create a shockwave that varies in power compared to how long he charges. When charging, he does not flinch, but still takes damage.)
Appearance:
History: The Lunar Beast is only known as a hero. Nothing else is known about him other than he came from space, he had the strength of a dozen Skylanders, and he saved Skylands from a giant monster. After a long situation that involved in his resurrection, his species wanted to bring him back to his home planet, but Lunar Beast wished to help the Skylanders instead. After the battle, his power is diminished a bit, so he is not as powerful as he used to be, but is still mighty strong.
Personality: He's a dopey creature who likes to be near creatures. He is still learning the Skylanders language, but what is known about him is that he loves to be cuddled. he fights like he's thinking about what to eat for lunch, in other words without much care. After all, if you were a giant beast from space who saved an entire planet, you'd probably think you were unbeatable too.
Other: He'd probably make the best sleep you'll ever get in your life.

Skyshot was brought to life by the misfire of a wizard’s spell. she was sought out by wizards and outlaws, mainly for here archery prowess. she was also granted the power to summon powerful lightning strikes. One day, a group of sky pirates invaded the village she resided in, and threatened to destroy the village if skyshot wasn’t handed over. Skyshot used her archery powers to take out most of the pirates, but the captain had a powerful shield. she needed something better. she then came across a big, heavy glove. she put it on her hand, and rushed towards the captain. she slammed her fist into his shield, creating a lightning strike! all she needed to control the power was the glove! The pirates fled, and the village was safe. she was granted a magic bowstring by the village wizard, which turned her bow into a rainbow! Eon sought out the cloud, and recruited her. now skyshot uses her lightining glove and rainbow and arrow to fight evil!

Yeah, he's about the size of a Giant. Compared to Land Eater, he's actually a pipsqueak. No where near as big.

Other: He's sort of an attempt to port an old RP character of mine. Also, he's about halfway between the size of a regular Skylander and a Giant.

OOC: I wish Bravely Default had summons that cool. IMO, I think the summons in Bravely Default tried too hard to be creative, and spent no time actually trying to look cool.

Spyro looked around the wreckage of the Core of Light. "If I guessed right, then Hugo has that portal creator somewhere around here." he said. He shifted some of the rubble and found a strange device with runes. "Ok, now to press that button." He accidentally slapped a row of runes and suddenly many portals appeared. "Darn it!" he yelled. The portals started spreading around many different worlds.

OOC: so how do we introduce our characters?

Kumara walked along side her best friend Griff through the forests of Niffiria. The two griffins were exploring outside of safe territory. Since Griff was the legendary red griffin, it was his job to ensure peace lasted throughout Niffiria while Kumara was the legendary black griffin who was cursed until Griff freed her. Together, they are the only family they have as both of their parents died soon after they hatched.

"Can you hear that?" Griff asked Kumara. She nodded slowly.
"Do you wanna check it out?" she questioned enthusiastically.
"Of cause!" he practically shouted as if she was crazy. The whiring noise began to get louder as they approached the abnormality.
Kumara then fell over a root and into a clearing.
"Kumara!" Griff called and leaped into the clearing after her, "are you OK?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied as she stood up, "what in Solas' name is that!"
In the center of the clearing was a bright light, seemingly shining all different colours.
"It kinda looks like the Portal that Lucifer guards," Griff suddenly said.
Kumara ignored him and picked up a rock.
"What are you doing?"
"What does it look like?" Kumara said as she threw the rock into the 'portal'.

Lunar Beast could usually be seen under a large fruit tree, where he would be snacking off the fruit that hung on said tree. Normally, Lunar Beast was accompanied by other Skylanders, but today he was all alone. He didn't like being lonely. Eventually he got up and started to look around. It didn't take him long before he found Spyro.

Lunar Beast came with a thump in every step he made. If you weren't used to being around the Lunar Beast, you could easily be startled by it. That's when he saw the portals fly out of the portal creator Spyro activated.

"Spyro, are big flashing lights supposed to come out of strange stone?" Lunar Beast asked, not used to how things worked on Skylands since he was technically an alien. "Me like bright lights. Bright lights are calm."

An Ifrit clad in glistening armor cautiously walked through the side of one of the portals a sword at the ready, and a forge hammer in the other hand. It seemed as if he was unsure whether a friend or foe lay in wait for him at the other side of the portal, but his expression immediately lit up at the sight of Spyro. "You're Spyro the Dragon, aintcha? Well, what do the Skylanders need of the greatest blacksmith in all of Skylands?" His tone was boastful, but his voice seemed to exude an aura of power that gave little doubt his claims were true. He gave an arrogant chuckle after this remark.

In another realm entirely, though, a bestial-looking being in a woodland cabin was sitting cross-legged in front of a fire, eyes closed in meditation. His ears twitched as he faintly heard a distinct whooshing sound followed by a droning hum, one he recognized as the sound of a portal opening. The werewolf inhaled deeply, and blew a strong, concussive stream of air at the flame, killing it immediately. He grabbed a pot that he'd filled at a nearby stream earlier, and poured it over the remaining coals, and immediately headed out the back door, where he saw the radiant, multicolored portal in front of him, the very same ones the Skylanders had used during his own short time as a Skylander. It seems they're desperate enough to call upon a wretched beast like me... he thought, walking towards the portal, as it began to take on a distinct dark purple hue. He stepped through the portal, not hesitating for even a second, as he contemplated why they'd even call on him.

...and if they need my help that badly, I have a duty to not keep them waiting.

"Yes." Spyro said to the massive beast. "Those bright lights will bring other Skylanders to our aid." He turned to the newcomer. "Looks like the portal is working! I was worried I messed something up." He offered his paw to Heph. "What's your name?

As hattrap was spawned by the portal, He floated over to spyro, interrupting his intorduction to heph.

"Ah yes, spyro, leader of skylanders! i've heard of you! Name's hattrap, and i heard you guys know a thing or two about elements."

Train reaction put his robotic hand on hattrap's back, scaring him. "Sir, i was told by skyshot to 'bring that fool over here.' i will do so."

"Oh trainy. you have no idea what just happened."

A yellow chicken sighed, sitting quietly in a dark yet bloody room, filled with pizza boxes, some empty, some half-full, some opposite to the former.
She grabbed a slice sadly from a filled box, when suddenly a quick whooshing sound rang in her ears. The bird put down the pizza, and, strangely compelled, approached the door. She opened it quickly, wide-eyed, as the multicolored glow lit up the metal rabbit, bear, and chicken heads in the long room. The chicken's bib became visible in the light, as it gradually turned deep lavender. Then, with great force, the portal dragged her in.
"Eyaaaghh!" She screamed, faceplanting near some sort of purple dragon.

"Looks like the portals ended up working." Spyro said. "We are trying to rescue the rest of the Skylanders, which are magical creatures that are connected to the 8 elements. They have been captured. I trust you all are good and want to save the world?"

He was interrupted by Teslo and Thornie arriving through a portal. "Don't worry about re-explaining." Thornie explained. "I told him on the way."

"I guess." said hattrap smugly. he floated away.

Heph crossed his arms indignantly and snorted audibly at being interrupted, jets of smoke shooting from his nostrils. However, he offered his hand to Spyro when the opportunity presented itself again. "My name is Hephaestus, but you can call me Heph, or the greatest smith in all of Skylands, I will respond to either."

However, a face familiar to Spyro appeared through one of the portals, a hooded lycanthrope that was a Skylander for roughly a month before he had resigned in disgrace, having jeopardized a mission and endangered many lives on the first moonlit night after he had joined. Eon's magic was able to suppress the curse, but the incident had already left a deep scar on the warrior's conscience. He approached Spyro and gave a soft, somewhat awkward smile from his bestial mouth.

The fluffy Lunar Beast looked at the newcomer as he approached Spyro. He didn't look friendly, but Lunar Beast wanted to be sure.

"Hello newcomer," he said. You seem... wait. Me feels like... I know you. You... Awwww, friend! You helped in beating the Land Eater!"

Lunar Beast claimed to know the werewolf, but did he really?

After a moment of staring at the portal, Kumara dragged Griff into it, falling on the other side.

"What the..." Griff said while trying to shake away his dizziness. He had never been here before, but he certainly recognized the purple dragon amongst the crowd. Before he had a change to say something, Kumara had practically jumped up from the ground, arched her back and gave a short but loud hiss, kind of like a cat.

Bite Fright was surprised by seeing a familiar face, but he couldn't stop the small smile on his face from transforming into a wide grin, and his tail started wagging. "It is a pleasure to see you again, old friend. I hope you have been well, and, er, my apologies for not keeping in touch during my wilderness sabbatical."

"Hey, Bite Fright!" Spyro gave a slight grin. "It's great to see you back!"

Thornie backed away from the hissing griffin, her many horns curling back, which was a sure sign of danger.

Griff quickly spread his wing in front of Kumara.
"I'm sorry, we mean no harm!" he said quickly. Kumara relaxed a bit but kept her glare on the strange creatures in front of her.

"No biggie," Lunar beast commented at Bite Fright. "Is that a way Skylanders say "No Problem?" I hear some do it, but I'm no sure."

"Yes it is, friend, and worry not, I have worked on controlling my darker abilities..." he said, holding out his clawed hand. A purple flame of energy flared up in his palm, while all of the purplish grey fur on his hand and wrist turned pitch black, his claws now a glistening silver. Just as quickly, though, he snapped his hand into a fist, extinguishing the flame, and his coloration returning to normal.
"I will endeavor to not 'slip up' again."

Griff stared at the purple dragon wandering if he was chosen to become an actual Skylander. Sure he helped them... a lot... but he never really though of himself as one. He walked up to Spyro and dipped his head slightly.

"I'm sorry to interrupt," he said nervously, "but, I was wandering... how did do you become a Skylander? It's been bugging me for a while and I want to know if there's some sort of way of becoming one. I don't really feel comfortable being the only one here who is't an 'official' Skylander."

Chica cocked her head at Spyro's words.
"I kinda have to..." She looked back, noticing her portal was gone.
"Ah, snap." She sighed.
"Mmkay, least, 'til that portal to Freddy's comes back." Chica groaned.

"So what we gonna do? Go save the world a little?" Said hattrap.
